This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, and the lights wouldn't even turn on. Tables were sticky, drinks were spilling everywhere, and the seating and lighting were uncomfortable. The floor looked like kangaroos just came through. On top of that, the worker spoke so quietly that we could barely hear a word she was saying, which made ordering frustrating. The biggest issue, though, was the food -- the chicken was undercooked. We sent it back, and even the waiter agreed that it wasn't cooked properly. Overall, the cleanliness, service, and food quality were unacceptable. I would not recommend eating here. My friend and I just got drinks here before and during the Phantoms game. They were very well priced so it met our needs and was convenient. We got our drinks put in plastic cups and were able to leave the restaurant and go into the game with our drinks. When we first walked in the restaurant, we were told there was a 45 min wait for a table. We just went to the bar for drinks. There weren't any seats available so we just took our drinks into the stadium. Our bartender swayed from being nice to having an attitude. The attitude was unnecessary and not appreciated. There's a walk up stand outside the restaurant (walk up from inside the stadium) to quickly get canned beer or crab fries ($8!!!). read more

I came here with my family before a hockey game. I know its a busy time but they should be used to it by now. Everyone ordered a beer and their food items. Everyone else got their beers but I did not. The waiter didn't say anything just walked away. I figured he would be coming right back with mine. 5 to 10 minutes later we see the waiter walk by so we ask him where my beer was. He had forgot about it. Said it would be right out. Another 5 mins go by and he comes back and says they are out of the beer, and to choose another one. I do. They then bring out our food. Nothing is hot, maybe warm but not what I expect coming out of a kitchen. I got the club chicken cutlet sandwich. It came with no sauce on it not even Mayo. It was a very dry sandwich. I wish I could have had a beer to drink it with. He came back to check on how the food was and I asked about my beer. He said they were out of my second choice as well. If i wanted something else. At this point we had already eaten and were just wanting to watch the hockey game (where I did finally get a beer inside the stadium). The fries which what they are known for were mediocre at best. Went here for lunch PRIOR to the Coronavirus hysteria AND...........it was virtually empty. Downtown Allentown - lunch time - EMPTY. There was a young couple and their child............but ultimately....empty. I've read reviews where people knocked the service for forgetting simple stuff. I had the same experience. I ordered for my guest and myself. The waiter brought back something similar, but not what I ordered. I felt bad having to send it back - he seemed like a likable guy (gave him a nice tip) but from my mouth to his ears a couple of things were lost in translation. I can't under communicate how disappointed I was in the Allentown location. We were attending the Berry Manilow concert and arrived over 90 minutes early specifically to have drinks and sandwiches. I specifically took guests who had never been to Chickie and Pete's and were excited to go based on my recommendation. We ordered our drinks which literally never arrived. Yes really never arrived. Our food arrived and the cheese steak was dry. Now my friends lost faith in my dining suggestions and you will never get them as a customer. I go to C and P around monthly at the Philly airport and am hopeful this poor service does not spread throughout the chain. Very disappointing. The place looks great from the outside but the service was poor. We ate on Saturday at 0830. Three plates were brought for the three of us. We had to return one that had crusted food on it. Water was not refilled. We had two empty glasses and they refilled one. We asked for lemon for the water and then had to ask again. I also tried the Mussels Red, which was a helluva deal for $12.99 for more mussels than I could eat! (Is guess there were about 40 in the giant bowl of Parm covered marinara.) What works: The first impression is great. There's an open, airy, upscale feel you don't often experience at a sports bar. If you're there to watch a game, there are nice, huge monitors set up for every vantage point. Also, it couldn't be anymore convenient if you're going to an event in the arena, and it's one of only a couple of eating options in the same building. What else works: The food is prepared well, has good presentation, and nice proportions. The crab fries come with a couple of tasty dips, and it's a great appetizer that can be shared. What needs work: They carded my 75-year-old grandmother for a glass of wine. This is not a joke. Worse yet, she'd left her identification in the car console, so one of us had to trek all the way back to the parking lot to retrieve it. While I understand the importance of keeping minors from drinking, this is over the top. Even liquor stores have a "You better at least look 30" policy. What else needs work: The "stagger-style" policy. What this means is that your food is served when it's ready, regardless of whether the rest of your party has been served. This is least appealing for the first and last person served. And last but not least, the bill really surprised me. There were several of us at a table during lunch on a weekday, and we had separate checks, so I picked up my grandmother's. For a small glass of the house white wine and a burger, her bill came to $27. Her burger didn't even come with fries. I couldn't help but think that our server had pulled a fast one, because let's face it - it's a sports bar, not the Ritz. That said, she did enjoy that burger. read more

I have been to this location multiple times since it opened in 2014. It has always been a confusing head-scratcher of a restaurant. It seats so few people, is so overpriced, and employs a strange system of letting dozens upon dozens of people in the door and then just letting them stand around in walkways and common areas while they wait for a table to magically become available. Just watch on an event night how many people give up when the interior doors to the PPL Center open and everyone just abandons any idea of waiting for a table. The servers are put in the uncomfortable position of having to ferry food through crowds of waiting people, their faces usually breaking character and showing their annoyance. No improvement to this system has taken place in 8 years - why are the greeters shouting names in 2022 to get people to their seats? As for the food, everyone knows the crab fries and dip are legit. But their cheesesteak is an abomination on the cheapest, dryest bread. The woodgrain and framed sports memorabilia are great, but they don't disguise the fact that the entire menu is mostly a sham not worth the $$$. Also, multiple television screens throughout the bar area are damaged and are flickering or glitched. read more

I am a huge fan of Chickie's & Pete's franchise right from the very beginning when it used to have only 2 or 3 locations in Philadelphia. A great crab house and sports bar. The franchise is known for its blue point crabs and crab fries. This franchise has grown whereby it has 4 locations at the Philadelphia International Airport plus restaurants in the Philadelphia area plus a couple of restaurants outside of Philadelphia. One such location is the Allentown location on Hamilton Street. Parking was a challenge for me but that was my fault. I could have parked in the shopping area's parking lot (Entrance is Behind the Restaurant) and Chickie's & Pete's would have validated it for free. I didn't know about this until I parked on the street and entered the restaurant. The staff was courteous however was clearly not familiar with the full menu. They had to check back on answers to my questions. This location either did not serve Blue Point Crabs or ran out of them. The server told me that they only had Dungeness and Alaskan Crabs. Yet, they had a sign outside the restaurant showing pictures of Blue Point Crabs. I overlooked that and ordered the Dungeness Crab along with a bowl of Hot Shrimp. Both items were prepared in the famous C&P's crab sauce and they were delicious. Service was fast as it always is in any of the franchise restaurants. The knowledge of the servers was not so great. Maybe due to the location and this restaurant is only 8 months old. I am giving it 3 stars and I will visit again because I know Chickie's & Pete's is an institution and will fix this learning curve and return back to stardom. read more

Little did ANYONE know that after they ate they were told that the "do not accept chickie and petes gift cards" THEY WERE PURCHASED OFF YOUR WEBSITE AND YOUR NAME IS CHICKIE AND PETES!! shame on you stealing money from customers and then not honoring the giftcards. Holy cow, what a fiasco. First, we overheard our hostess told to "seat us at at table with someone who's already here." (Not in the section of the person who hasn't come in yet?) Then we were told that we would get our food "whenever it was ready," therefore, "you might not get your meals served together as the cook prefers to make things as the tickets come in and send it out hot." Uh, what? We told our server we did indeed want our food served at the same time, if possible. Because, you know, we're eating together. He said he would request a "hold" on the item cooked first until the 2nd item was done but didn't seem at all confident the kitchen could accomplish this. Apparently for good reason. Our server was very sweet, but there were at least 15 other young staff members just standing around, talking, and dancing in the narrow pass outside the kitchen doors - which basically faces the entire left side of the dining area. So while you're eating over there be prepared to either feel like a bug under glass (or that you're intruding into a 20-something's party.) There was an older guy with curly hair, thinning on the top, who might be a manager, or might have just be someone flirting with the waitstaff. He was accomplishing nothing but occasionally gathered the staff around to talk and joke with them then walked back over to the bar to look at his cell phone. Fries ordered with meal received before apps. One app never appeared and had to be cancelled. Roast pork sandwich very good. Cheesesteak was not. We were told up front there were no clams, mussels, or crabs available. We usually try everywhere at least 2-3 times, however my husband already refuses to give them another dollar. It's a shame, really, because downtown Allentown deserves (and in The Hamilton, ROAR, Crust, has received) better. read more

This place is an absolute joke. I asked if they had any sangria and our waiter said yeah of course! They bring back my glass of sangria in a tall glass with a straw. First time I ever seen that.. but the sangria was awful! Couldn't even drink it. After a few times coming to the table, the waiter was concerned about why I didn't drink my sangria and I told him straight out that it was horrible. He then told me, "well... the bartender kind of messed with my head. It's actually Merlot with fruit in it". The best part is that he waited all that time to tell me. He just gave me wine with fruit in it and didn't care! We made him take it off the bill. Then we order the white clams for an appetizer.. the clams were super small. They were so-so in flavor, but we wanted to use the leftover juice for dipping sauce. When we got a basket of bread, I ripped a piece apart and found this huge piece of blonde hair at the bottom. I lost my appetite at this point. I also had a little less than half a glass of water left and the waiter asked if I wanted him to take it away. Why would you ask to take my drink when it's almost half full??? Nothing made sense in this place and it didn't help that my father and I had just come from a wake. It was just a bad experience overall and I wish the Yelp app was working on my phone so I could have seen the other bad reviews before coming here. read more

Just to clarify about a situation with another yelper i read, C&P still was not able to sell Clams, Mussles, or Crabs. When asked, they stated they still have to get inspections by the state before they can sell certain products, but they will indeed have them soon (because I have no reason NOT to believe, I'm comfortable with that....I'm not sure why a business wouldn't want to sell produce right?). We ordered the crab fries, wings, a Magooby and Buffalo Chicken Nachos. Fries were excellent. Wings, they were ok....not the favorite in the world but decent (would have liked them a little crisper but maybe that is just my preference). The Nachos were for a friend, but I had a taste and they were pretty darn good. I'd like to get them myself. The Magooby is what I ordered. Picture chilled scrimp on a roll with relish and then fries on top with the american cheese sauce they are known for. It was good....basically a shrimp sandwich with fries on top. It was good, I'd eat it again if someone gave me one, but my socks were still on my feet (to be fair, the server, which I'll comment about next, did kind of make me aware that it isn't the most popular thing on the menu...but I wanted to try something a bit different so I did anyway). Ok...the service....EXTREMELY attentive. We must have been checked on 4-5 times. The food also came out VERY fast......in fact, everything came out at once....about 6 minutes after we ordered! I would have preferred it staggered a bit (like the apps then the entree)...but I'd rather faster than slower that's for sure. I'm looking forward to going back. The menu offers quite a bit more than we had the chance to order. Further, although seafood retail in the area sells crabs, it will be good to find a place close by where we can go and order blue crabs and get them delivered to the table. Prices are what you'd expect....for hamburgers, cheesesteaks, and appetizers the same you'd pay at PJ's and similar places. read more

Really bad food at a high price. Had the seafood soup and it tasted like hot water with a few clams thrown in. One small piece of shrimp and no spices whatsoever. Also got the Philly Cheesesteak. This Cheesesteak would take the prize for the worst cheesesteak on the planet. The bread was cheap store bought garbage bread and I needed a magnify glass to see the steak. Felt like I was eating a plain roll. Service also was slower than mud and there were only a few people there. If there was a Top 10 worst sports bars in the Lehigh Valley list, this would be the top of the worst list. I hope tourists to the area don't think this is typical Lehigh Valley food. After we were seated, again we waited and waited and waited... Finally our orders had been taken. They're simple...just chicken, cheese and hot sauce. The pork sandwich looked good, but my buddy wasn't a fan of the bread. No problems, but nothing to get excited about. Service: polite, attentive, casual. Atmosphere: casual sports bar with lots of TVs. Great setting to watch some games. Misc: they were out of several beers and the serving of crab fries cost $8, but should have been more like $4 or $5 given its size. Also, when we asked for the drink menu, we were handed a piece of paper that someone wrote the different beers on. Management needs to get their act together. I went here for a work lunch today. The place is new and beautiful, very spacious, lots of TVs, a nice bar and a clean bathroom. Our waitress was very nice but did seem to be rushing us out (kept cleaning up baskets of food that people were still picking at, that type of thing). I got an order of crab fries with the cheese dipping sauce. Holy sodium overload! Tasty but a little much for me. I shared with the whole table to cut down on the damage lol. I also got the BLT burger and requested it to be done medium. Well, it was definitely not medium, more like well done (yuck) but the flavor on the burger (very peppery) was good! I had to ask for mayo and mustard because the tables only have ketchup on them and apparently the burgers are normally just served dry? Anyway, it wasn't repulsive or anything. It was pretty tasty just not what I personally want in a burger. With tax and tip my order of fries, burger and water was $20 which is not bad considering the fries served 6 of us. Will I go here again? Yes, I will but it would NOT be my first choice especially since the downtown area has so many great options now. I would never go to Chickie & Petes and again went there for all u can eat Snow crab Legs server told us they were 18.99 when in fact they were 34.99. Asked to speak to manager and he was very cocky and basically said there is nothing he can do there are signs all over the restaurant and he can't do anything but offer me free crab fries for the next visit. No way am I going back. P.S called corporate number too and the lady on the phone Tracy said she would get back to me and never did also, so I will never go back there again you just lost a great customer By the way this was the Warrington location read more
