Was at chico orientation. My daughter drove her newly purchased 2014 nissan sentra, purchased 2 wks ago, from the central valley. About an 1/2 hour before we got there car started making noise. At the end of the orientation 4:45 we drove to chico nissan on manzanita ave. Dustin and the ladies tgere were AMAZING. i was super upset. There were no tech available. They got us a rental car for our 3 hr drive home. They kept me calm. Next day called its the transmission. They called to find out if it was under warranty. It was such a smooth transaction. Awesome Customer Service!! My niece was looking for a Used car to help get her through college. After looking at cars for a few weeks she found a used Hyundai in her price range. I came in to help her finance her 1st car. After driving it and looking at it in the daylight she found a few things she didn't like. So they offered to show her a New Hyundai. I am extremely disappointed in our car buying experience here. I can guarantee we will not be future customers. I went with my mom to buy a used vehicle from here. All seemed well and good initially. We came to an agreed priced, my mom had already been pre-approved for a loan through her bank, and we signed the contract that day - but couldn't leave with the car that night, since it was a very recent trade in and needed to be detailed and what not. Ok, no problem there. Well, the day to pick up the car comes and my mom went alone, after all it was only to pick up the car at that point - right!?! This is where the issues began. Suddenly there was a new contract they wanted her to sign that added a extended warranty and increased her loan amount. She understands english just fine, but it's not her first language. She knew what they were trying to do. She refused to sign and wanted it back to what we agreed initially. The finance guy clearly thought she didn't understand and kept insisting she needed it. Finally he call an interpreter and guess what, same result. So extra hour later and another contract is drawn up, supposedly the original contract has issues. At this point my mom was tried and hungry, she had gone straight to the dealership from work and didn't expect to be there long. So she signs the contract, expecting it to be funded by her bank. Next surprise was they sent her loan to another bank. I called twice yesterday and didn't get a call back. Had to call again today. Their explanation was it was a better rate and they claim an interpreter was there the whole time and explained the whole contract. I spoke to my mom the day it happened and today and her story has not changed so I know that what they claim is not true. Interpreter was there only about the warranty and no one said anything about changing financing. Now we are left trying to track down who she owes a loan to since they didn't honor her wishes about her bank (makes me wonder if they get a kick back on banks) to save her pennies (literally, since it was such a minor change in interest) but adds the headache of another institution to deal with. It all feels predatory. Not to mention they are clearly trying to CYA themselves now and making claims that aren't accurate. They have even told me to just refinance and that it won't be more expensive. A simple Google search will tell you a refinance it more expensive interest rate. They have lost my respect with these tactics, and I won't hesitate to share this experience freely on all sites I can and any friends and family. read more

Look, car dealers are not the most ethical folks. It's a given. The entire culture rewards lying and cheating the customer. The advent of apps like True Car and KBB help, but not a lot. Given all this, it's going to be hard for a dealership to get a high rating. That's our starting point. I've bought six vehicles from these guys over the years and, for the most part, they've been fairly decent. Nissan itself, not the dealer network, seems to follow up pretty close and intervenes to help the customer. Add to that the fact that my Nissans have been reliable and I probably have less to complain about than some. My last deal was an absolute joke and the finance guy lied pretty blatantly, but I was a stupid sap and didn't look at the numbers closely till I got home. My bad. That will be my last car from them. Still, for ten years they have been, on average, not bad. The one time the service department couldn't fix something, Nissan stepped in and flew out a team to look into the issue. Of course, that turned out to be something affecting many more vehicles than just mine, but still, great service. Why they would turn a repeat customer into a non customer is anyone's guess. A few bucks is more important. But a whole lot better than the Toyota dealership in town. Now if only Nissan would quit using CVT's in everything! read more

Took my 2012 Nissan altima in for service and the service advisor was rude for the moment I stepped up to him. First it was that car has never been here before. I informed him that it always comes there for service and he said well let me get the vin number and see if I can find it. Comes back throws my key fob (you know the one the car won't start without) on the counter and says o there it is. Boy you don't take very good care of that car do you. Sure it was dirty but it was raining for the first time in 6 months and my car is pearl white! And yes it has a bump on the back from someone hitting me! I take very good care of my car! Purchased a 2016 Veloster Turbo in January 2016. Our buying experience was easy and we were very happy over all. The reason why I only am giving 2 stars is because of the the issues I've been having with this car since purchasing it. Since day one there has been an obvious lag in acceleration. At first I thought it was because it was new with very little miles on the car and it just needed to be broken in. At 3000 miles I took it in to get oil changed and told service writer of problem. Was told they couldn't find anything wrong. Took it in again at 12000 miles for same issues plus now the car was slipping out of gear and would not go into reverse at one point.....this time an update was done on the engine & trans control unit (computer) and the car ran much better but only lasted 2 weeks then problem reappeared. Took car back in at 16000 miles for same issues and stressed car is very unsafe!!!! No fix!!! Couldn't find anything wrong!!! Isn't throwing any codes!!!! Wtf!!!! I am worried every time I pull out into traffic. It has no guts!!!! Have been in contact with Hyundai Consumer Affairs and they will do nothing!! There is a class action lawsuit in the works on these exact issues we are having with our Veloster Turbo. I have never felt so unsafe when driving a car!!! Will never buy a Hyundai ever again!!!! We bought this car in good faith!! It's not our first new car, we've had many others. Was told by the Hyundai Customer Service Specialist, James Dewey, that you have to drive this car a certain way and that he could send me the YouTube video on how to drive it. Um....hello!!!!! We were not told we had to drive this car a certain way when we bought it!!!!! I've been driving cars for 38 years and have driven manual and automatic transmissions. I purchased a used car from Chico Nissan Hyundai. Within 5 months the ignition went out a $222.00 repair they affected a 10% discount. Now the exhaust needs over $700 in repair according to their service shop. Again they offered no help. I spoke to the manager he raised his voice at me and was extremely rude, and offered no help on the repairs. After all they sold me this car 5 months ago and said it was in excellent condition. After either not being happy with the inventory, or the prices, or interest rates at the used car lots, I reluctantly went to Chico Nissan. I was afraid to go there because I wasn't wanting to owe $30,000 to a bank and was afraid of being pressured to buy out of the budget I had planned for. I showed up by myself and walked around looking at cars for about 5 minutes before being approached by Nic. When he came to help me he just asked me some questions about what I'm looking for in a car and then actually showed me cars that fit in that criteria and I was surprised when they were in the price range I gave him too. I test drove 3 cars (all over town) and ended up buying the first one I drove (which I drove twice). Nic was patient with all my test driving and he answered all my questions without being pushy or trying to persuade me into buying. When I decided to buy it the sales manager agreed to drop the price by $2,000 so that I could buy the extended warranty and still be within my budget and I got financed at 2.8% (which is an amazing rate). They also accepted my previous car as a down payment for a very fair price, I really appreciated not having to deal with selling it on Craigslist or something. The whole process took about 3.5 hours. I have had the car for a year now and I still absolutely love it! If and when the time comes to get another car, they will be the first place I go. read more

While I've never bought a car from Chico Nissan Hyundai, I get my oil changed there ever 3 (or 4...) thousand miles. The service has always been excellent and they offer a complimentary car wash with an oil change. I originally thought that they would be expensive because they are a dealership, but they are much cheaper than most quick lube locations in town. In addition, they send coupons and reminders for upcoming oil changes and expections. They won us over! read more

I have a Nissan Altima. I had a rodent eat one of the wires under the hood. The service department spliced about a six inch piece of wire. They charged me $246 to splice and solder a new piece of wire. I was shocked when I got the bill. I am a former Service Rep for the Ford Motor co. I ask what their labor rate is and was told they do not have one and they simply charge for the work done I think they have found a way to take advantage of their service customers. I had planned to purchase a Nissan truck, but now I will not. I will only go to their service department to have warranty work on my Altima. Professionally I believe I was overcharged. I bought my '09 Nissan Altima from them in early 2012. They were really great. Treated my husband and I amazing. Fast forward to September 2014, my husband gets in the car to go to work and discovers that the battery is dead. Lovely. While looking at the battery I find a sticker informing me that my battery has an 84 month (7 year) warranty. Since my car is only 5 years old I was super excited. So I call the parts department to verify the warranty and find out what the price would be. After 30 minutes of calling and no one answering, I finally get a live body that tells me that its a partial warranty and will cover 50% of the battery price, making the grand total $25.88. Yay! So I grab the old battery and my dad and I drive over to get the new one. When I walk in, a man named Bill, looks at the battery and says, "You the person I talked to on the phone about the battery? I told you that you needed to bring your car. I have to get the manager." He was very rude, and never told me to bring in my car. When I explained that I was unable to bring the car because the battery was dead, I was told that I should have had it towed. Once the manager came out things got even more confusing. First he was saying that its not covered under warranty any more, when I pointed out that it was a 7 year warranty and my car is only 5 years, things changed to, "Oh he thought you were going to get 75% off, which would be $25.88, but its actually going to be $75". I was getting very frustrated. I told them that this is not how you do business. Their employee, Bill, was being extremely rude, slamming keys on his key board, and telling customers one price and then changing it around. The story on this battery warranty changed a total of 5 times. Each resulting in different out comes and prices. Finally fed up I asked who I filed a formal complaint with. I was told the owner. I asked for his number and they gave me the main dealership number. When i asked if the owner was working today, they said they weren't sure. So I told them that I'd be back, I was going to check and see if he was available. And like magic they were now able to give me the battery for $25.88 + tax. The manager was kind enough to inform me that if in the future my battery dies that I need to bring my car with the dead battery, even if that means having my car towed. All I can say is, NOPE. After paying for a tow and new battery, it'd be WAY cheaper to just go to Les Schwab and get a battery for $110. I was appalled at how I was treated! I will not be going back to Nissan's Service/Parts department again if I can help it. I will also be contacting the owner. read more

On Dec. 21, 2018 I drove 150+ miles to Chico to assess my son's car for the best service option. Battery was 3 days new from AAA but kept dying, and would not keep car running at idle. However under the hood it was clicking and making sounds all on its own while my son went to get the keys from the house. I recorded the sound because it is hard to humanely tell the service department what one heard mechanically on a vehicle. We had it towed to Nissan Hyundai Chico my choice. We talked to service writer R. explained the story above. New battery, jumping it to get started, dying at stops while driving and the sound under the hood with no key anywhere near the car. I told R. I had a recording of the sound and asked, "Do you want to hear it?" He said no, it is probably the Alternator as you son thinks. We will do a diagnostic on it for $135 and said that price will be incorporated into the repair if needed. He called me after the diagnostic and said it does need an alternator, serpentine belts and front brakes. Total estimate is about $1300.00. GULP. Ok if needed do it. R. said, "Well we do not have the alternator in stock we have to order it. (Didn't tell me it was a reman). He said part should be in on Dec. 27. I brought my son back to Chico on the 26th. I did not hear from them on Dec. 27 so called in a noon should have everything done by today. Was not ready until Dec. 28. My son was not offered a loaner and had to find rides to work. He picked it up on Dec. 28 for the price of $1335.81 Chico charged me $540 labor on an Alternator. My son drove it 5 miles. Added gas and a qt of oil. Parked car. Later he drove again and it was running worse than before the battery died. The engine was so rough and making noise the check engine light was on (gas cap was on tight) he was afraid to drive it to work or anywhere. He called R. to explain the situation, that it is running worse than before.. R. said, "Not our problem, not anything we did. We fixed what you asked. You can bring it in and we can do a $198 diagnostic check that is what a check engine light check cost. We can do that and look for other problems but not until after the New Year. I was not happy with that response. Maybe belts were lose or something else. "Please bring it back so we can check it out" is was what I hoped to hear. Capital One (credit card used to pay for repairs) suggested my son take it to another shop for a second opinion. On Jan. 2, 2018 called other shop. They suggested take it back to Nissan, give them a chance to make it right. So on Jan 2 son called AAA for another tow because he was afraid to drive it with the engine running so poorly and making noise as he told R. the day he got it. Son went to pull car out for AAA tow and the battery was DEAD. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED. Jan 2, towed back to Nissan I told R. the issue, asked him to check their work, find out why alternator or whatever killed the battery. Jan. 3 R. calls me. Says vehicle was towed here. We put it on the charger all night checked it out, battery good. Everything is fine, you can pick it up. He would not tell me why it died with a new Alternator of even if they checked it for integrity. I did research. Basically I was overcharged for labor on Alternator. Concord Nissan $330 Walnut Creek Nissan, $315.50 for 1.9 hrs. Redding Nissan labor was $216.00 for 1.8 hrs. Jan 8 called Chico Nissan they gave me a price labor should be $200- $225. Hummmmm they charged me $540 Jan. 4 frustrated at the run around I called Capitol One to open a dispute. Jan. 5 I arrived to Chico AGAIN, expressed same concerns to R. as I did on the phone, why did battery die. He said same thing. We charged it all night. It tested good. "We road tested it. It is running fine" (DID NOT ROAD TEST. MILEAGE IN AND OUT IS THE SAME ON PAPERWORK AND MY ODOMETER). Asked him to do a parasitic draw test. He gave me a hard time and did not do it. I was DONE dealing with them and I took it to another auto repair shop per Capitol One. Still Jan 5, the other Auto repair called me. They did a Parasitic Draw test and found there was a draw on the battery. Maybe I didn't need an new alternator after all. I have worked at a Dealership and I know this is not the way to treat customers. Two tows for the same issue, three 320 mile round trips and still not resolved. Hours of research to see if this is typical pricing and procedure. Very discouraged, disappointed and frustrated with where to go and what to do next. Staycee Barnett read more

Very predatory. Salesman became angry with us and tried to use intimidation tactics to get us to buy after we said their interest was way too high for the vehicle we wanted. He called both my husband and I dozens times each telling us to come back in and pressuring us about the car even though we told him we weren't interested. It's been a year and I recently had a salesman once again call me. He claimed that he had a missed call from me. I told him that I didn't call and I hadn't used my phone all day. I even checked my recent calls just to make sure I hadn't mistakenly called but I had not. The man then proceeded to try to get me to come in and look at the cars. I said I wasn't interested and he kept asking "so you don't need a car?" Or "you aren't looking?" After a while he got the hint and gave up. This business employs liars and people who enjoy harassing potential customers. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and would never give my money to them. I wouldn't put it past this business to fake all the positive reviews because I can't imagine someone having a good experience here. read more

Horrible dealership!!! Avoid at all cost. Please listen to me!! Chico Nissan Hyundai has been a nightmare for me and my family. We purchased a brand new car in 2014, and it turned out to be a lemon car. We sent the vehicle 4 total times to the service department with no solution at all. The vehicle was out of service for more than 40 days , and they didn't even know how to fix it. Every time I delivered the car to them, they told me I had no reason to be concerned, and every time my vehicle would break on the road again. Their sales manager is completely useless, I spoke with him personally and he didn't care about my situation, and neither did their service department. I had to go through the legal way and file a complaint against Nissan Corporation under the lemon law. I was successful at the end and I got all my money back, but boy what a terrible experience I had with both Nissan and this crappy dealership. Do yourself a favor and never step a foot inside that dealership; they will be more than happy to sell you any car within 5 mins, but once something breaks, they will not even consider helping you or lead you into a proper direction to solve your problem. read more

First of all I would by another car from here. Overall it was fairly easy and I got what I wanted at a reasonable price. My only real issues were the "Oh someone just walked in and offered more than you for the same car" . When I said ok they can have it that person suddenly just disappeared? I get the game and all but honestly their game was insulting. Their bargaining definitely felt shady, but I think they could see we weren't going to go around and around so it did not last too long. My only other issue was that when I bought my car it smelled beautiful.... the next day it was like being slapped in the face. Cigarette smell so bad I couldn't believe it. So now I have had to do all these things to try to get rid of it. I would still have bought it, I love the car. However if they had just disclosed that at least it would not have felt like such a bummer. Financing was made easy with a very sweet woman ( I am not sure of her name I am sorry).
