Chiffanos is a little bakery located in the GB3 shopping center on Champlain and Perrin. I recently discovered Chiffanos and it has been a weekly stop for me. French Toast cupcake with bacon bits: Probably one of my favorite cupcakes I have EVER tasted. A perfectly well balanced dessert with just the right amount of sweet and savory. They do offer the French toast cupcake without bacon bits, but if you aren't opposed to eating bacon, I'd say go for it and enjoy this unique dessert. Toffee bar: If I could only get one dessert from this whole bakery, this would be it. The baker has PERFECTED this dessert. This is the perfect dessert for those who don't like desserts that are overly sweet. The consistency of this is sort of like a cookie dough and randomly dispersed are toffee bits and chunks of nuts (I think walnuts). In the middle is a layer of condensed milk (I believe). I almost don't want to post this review as I know the baker only bakes a limited number of bars each day and I don't want these to be sold out whenever I go in. I dont even have a picture to post of this, as it never lasts long enough. Pro tip: If you're not allergic to nuts, just get the toffee bar. You'll want to thank me later. Trust me. read more

The place has excellent pastries and baked goods. The only problem with the place is that the service is unfriendly and unenthusiastic about you being there. If they could smile more, act happy to help you, and actually try to sell their goods it would be great to help them stay in business. Unfriendly service doesn't get people coming back either. I grew up in Fresno and had usually eaten pastries from the French bakery in Fig Garden Village. Chiffonos is newer, and with my sweet tooth, I couldn't resist trying some of their sweet desserts. My favorite is the cheesecake. It's large and a bit lighter than other cheesecakes. I like their chocolate chip cookie, too. Iced Coffee from here tasted great, too. read more

I am here because I was told this place was extremely better than the Cupcake Bakery on Cedar, in Fresno. And.. I'm satisfied and content. This place is absolutely inviting and cute. The interior is decked out with nature art that you can purchase, huge couches, chairs and little tables, they even had a table with built in checkers. (I don't know what it's called but it's there.) What really made me happy was their wifi that actually has a decent connection. And their cute little water bar that you can help yourself to after purchasing your cupcake. Now, lets get to the cupcakes. Compared to what I am used to.. this place is delicious! The cupcake tastes like it literally just came out of the oven, it's moist, stays in it's shape, and really rich and yummy. The frosting is just the same, it's creamy and really rich. A definite winner. They're a little expensive but it's expected since all the cupcake shops around here are expensive. So, they also serve coffee and holiday beverages (pumpkin spice latte, eggnog latte) but I'll have to try those next time! read more

Charming little spot in a corner shopping center. Limited selection, especially after 5. They brew their own coffee, a cup at a time, which appealed to my coffee drinking husband. Since they have little tables and chairs, I had planned to eat my dessert while there, but they just boxed them up, taping the box very securely, mind you, and sort of dismissed us afer we paid. It would have been nice if they had asked if we wanted to eat there or take them with us. We selected a tiny square of chocolate cake drenched in chocolate frosting, a brownie, and a piece of banana bread that has frosting on top. They have one vegan item, a sunflower muffin. It's hard living up to the cupcake hype especially when there's cupcake wars everywhere in the Bay Area and cupcakeries every other neighborhood, so that's why I was a little bit disappointed to taste these cupcakes. One of the cupcakes I tried was the Boston Creme Pie. The cupcakes did have a nice presentation, but it was a little dry. I wish the frosting on top of the cupcakes could have had more of a whipped texture which would have made the cupcake softer to bite into. After reading all the rave reviews, my husband and I went in for just a cupcake. The display was impressive looking. I ordered a champagne cupcake, my husband got a french toast one. They were both awful! Cake was dense and dry. The icing was no better. They must have been in the case for days. It was made very quickly, came out super blazing hot, and was almost watery. This was our first (and definitely our last) experience here. I would do 1.5/5, which isn't an option. This place was ok. Cupcakes look pretty and are packaged up in really nice boxes. Bringing them home to eat is another story. Just my preference but I don't like super dense frosting piled high on cupcakes. Reminded me of a cupcakery I reviewed in Phoenix which also had cupcake frosting with the consistency of refrigerated shortening. The cake itself was dry but its saving grace was the filling inside which gave it some moisture (I picked a lemon filled cupcake). The chocolate ganache cupcake was okay too. Pretty hard to mess up choco ganache but still couldn't make up for the dryness of the actual cake. With pricing similar to Sprinkles but subpar quality, I will not be back. They sell last nights pastries for a discounted price so if you're into bargain pastries come check it out. read more

This place is so good. I work nearby and regularly go there. My manager told me these were the best sandwiches anywhere, and I didn't believe him until I had one myself. These are so good you crave these specific sandwiches over anything else. I've had them multiple times and the quality is crazy. The bread is baked fresh and made daily to my knowledge, and it shows. Super soft and so flavorful. I brought these home to my family and we can't go back to places like Deli Delicious, and that isn't even mentioning the baked goods at this bakery. The cupcakes and mini cheesecakes are to die for. Every time you walk in you are welcomed by the smell of something great baking. The frosting is always smooth and delicious and the fruit used for toppings is always great. Highly recommend :) read more

I was extremely disappointed coming here. I originally came in to get a fruit tart. After looking at the dessert case for one I couldn't find it but the cupcakes did catch my eye. I asked the guy working if there were any fruit tarts available and he told me to look in the case for it myself. I would've expected the person working there to know what was available that day?? Anyways, I did pick up some cupcakes because they looked so good. Let me just say looks can be very deceiving. I got the red velvet and maple bacon. Both were super dry and tasted old. The maple bacon had some nice flavor in the frosting with the bacon bits but the cakes was so dry not even that could save it. Hopefully the next time I come I'll be able to try their fruit tart, but for now there are no plans to get any kind of cake here read more

We ordered a dozen cupcakes. My wife made the order. She specifically asked for certain cupcakes that were available. Keep in mind that my wife is a Muslim which was obviously recognized due to the fact that she wears a hijab. When we picked up the order and got home we noticed that they put BACON on 2 of the cupcakes. We were very disgusted. We called the shop and told them that they replaced the Oreos with bacon. The girl said they ran out of Oreos and decided to go with bacon. They voluntarily added bacon to our order!!!! Still the lady said they will replace the 2 cupcakes. When I went to get them I was greeted my Mr. Morgan. He quickly pointed out that my wife ordered bacon specifically. What a lying POS! I told him no she didn't, he said yes she did and that he thought it was odd for a Muslim women to order bacon. I told him just replace the two and let me be on my way. He then said that they ran out of Oreos, I told him that makes sense why he put bacon as the girl stated. I don't mind making mistakes, but this mistake was done purposely. To lie on top of it and say a Muslim women specifically asked for bacon is pathetic. I truly believe that this guy is a racist and did this on purpose. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN! I found this lovely bakery by accident and its In a very nice area. The parking was great and it was easy to find but make sure you call if you get lost. I've been looking at so....many other bakeries in the pass 2 week's for my friends going away party. So I was on a mission and as a famous person once said ("thing's happen for a reason".) so maybe it was in the cards for me to find this bakery, who knows. So being on a mission to find a great but something different is some hard work but I would prepare myself because I was up for the challenge, so my process is to visually analyze all the art work and even buy a mini side to taste test before spending my hard working money. Well that being said, their best looking dessert was there.....lol meaning everything looked great but my favorite was the mini lemon meringue pie Wow!!! That it was excellent and I was quite pleased and so...impressed, I'm not sure if it was the homely feeling or there beautiful designs on there custom cakes, or there mini pies, brownies or there cupcakes I was just bedazzled.The gentleman was a bit shy and not to talkative which was a little bit strange but that didn't stop me from buying ; a mini red velvet and German chocolate cupcakes, lemon bar, mini peach pie with a mini custard pie. I'm happy to say that everything was great but the Red velvet cupcake was kinda dry which was one of my favorite thing. So overall they need better customer service and work on having fresher cupcakes and I'm sure their business should strive, if they fixed a few issues and nail there cupcake's so there fresh. Spent $60 for a red velvet cake for a special occasion. It was beautiful but so DRY!! We were very disappointed.

I've been wanting to try out this bakery shop for the longest. I finally made it in and I've to say, their service was okay & their cupcake was more for presentation. I've had better cupcakes for cheaper. The lady in the front didn't look too happy to be there, but at least she didn't give us attitude either. Now onto the desserts. Their cupcakes were okay. The creams were really sweet and cake was not too dry or too moist. I got the vanilla and pink strawberry cupcake. My sister got the red velvet and a slice of their ganache chocolate cake. My sister said the red velvet was good, but I thought the chocolate cake was the best out of them all. Overall, I wasn't too pleased with what I got, but hopefully I can give them another try when I'm on that side of town. read more

This is a pleasant dessert place in the middle of a strip mall. They serve a variety of gourmet desserts (creme brulee, red velvet, etc) and cupcakes as well. Decor has a nice homey feel with dark wood furniture and flooring. There are some magazines available for viewing and even some simple games (dominos) available on the tables to have a relaxing time. I've been here several times and they have asked me whether we wish to have the dessert here or to go. So, maybe it just depends upon the guy/gal you meet. Overall a nice little place. read more

Saori and I have stopped by Chiffonos off and on since it first opened. It's never busy so we had concerns about how long it would stick around but I think its wedding cake business is its primary money maker. It's still around and seems to be doing well. As Jerry said, you can't get better coffee in the Fresno area. Santa Cruz Roasting Company coffee brewed just like in SC, one cup at a time. And the desserts are usually very good. On our last visit I had the Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting and Saori tried a fruit tart cannelloni. The cannelloni was mediocre with flavorless custard filling. But the Red Velvet cake was very good. The chilled frosting was dense, almost chewy, and not overly sweet. There was a much greater selection of desserts in the display case this time around and it appears they are offering a limited lunch menu with mainly soup offerings. If I worked closer, I would definitely pop in during the lunch hour. If you can stomach the cheesy decor and muzak, it's a clean, quiet place to chat over desserts (free wifi if you have some studying/work to do). Otherwise, have them box up your goodies and be on your merry way. But do give Chiffonos a try! read more
