Because of how busy they are (there are 2 front of the house staff), I think it would help if they hired another staff member to help run food/take orders. As a regular the happy hour we ordered this time around tasted very off, the xlb's were overpoweringly overfilled with sesame oil flavor, fried rice was inconsistent with patches of supet salty blocks of rice or plain white rice, the seasoning of fried rice and the crispy tofu were exactly the same. The chicken wings and the beef noodle soup were the best dishes of everything we got that tasted just like they used to in the past. We use this neighborhood restaurant often. Last night Wednesday 20th, we reserved for 4 at 7pm. A table was not available for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, many were waiting for tables. A very large carry out order left involving about 4 hotel pans of food, as well as the usual assorted smaller carry out orders. There was also a party of 10 dining. There was only one server who was literally running to host and take care of the entire room (she was absolutely great but over-worked), plus a runner. It took a long time to get our order taken and I considered leaving. Our food arrived quickly, but the overall experience for us and our first time guests suffered. I don't think it's fair to staff or customers to operate like this knowing business levels would be high. read more

Decided to order out from this place on Saturday night. We ordered the beef noodle soup, vegetable wontons in chili oil, and prawn fried rice. We were provided two menus to order at the bar with the waitress. Once we ordered we waited outside as it was not the biggest space. Maybe around 15-20 minutes and our food was ready. The to go bags are very cute cloth bags not paper or plastic. Everything we ordered was delicious and hot by the time we got back to our hotel. Came here for lunch around opening on a Saturday afternoon, we were the first ones there and only saw one other table filled during our meal. We wanted to come here because at long last my partner and I found a place that makes vegan soup dumplings and even on a hot summer day they really hit the spot! I went for the mixed plate of soup dumplings and thought they were all really yummy. My favorites were the crab and mala ones. The mala has that signature tingly spice that I can see building up over a full plate, so proceed with caution if that's not your thing. The truffle/squid ink ones were a little underwhelming relative to my expectations, the flavor was pretty light compared to the other less traditional ones I also had a Hong Kong style milk tea with espresso that was quite tasty! It had a really nice mix of the two flavors that I can see hitting the spot even more on a cooler day. Overall I'd make this a must if you're a vegetarian/vegan who's been wanting to try soup dumplings. If you don't have that restriction I'd say the novelty of trying a variety of soup dumplings is also worth checking out, but not as much of a must if you're visiting from out of town read more

The freaking pro-tip is to come here during happy hour! I can see how coming during regular hours would be kinda mid for the prices, but the happy hour deals are super reasonable. Also never a wait during HH. We come in for the happy hour combos: Traditional Soup Dumplings & Braised Beef Brisket Noodle Soup ($15). The soup dumplings are always a hit. And the braised beef brisket noodle soup is so freaking umami. Then the Mala Spicy Soup Dumplings and the Dan Dan Chili Oil noodles ($16) The Dan Dan noodles are really good, such perfect tang- I feel like the tang to fat to spice ratio is perfect. We ordered from the Set Menu A, which offered a selection of 5 dishes for $68 that feeds 2-3 people. The meal set was more than enough for 3 people, so there were plenty of leftovers. The leftovers came in a nice reusable bag. Of the dishes, my favorites were the truffle soup dumplings and the black truffle fried rice. What can I say, I love truffles! I never thought to pair truffles with Chinese food, but surprisingly the flavors worked really well together! Everything was very flavorful. If you like the lip numbing Szechuan peppers, the chili oils will not disappoint! I enjoyed the food and thought the service was good. My niece said they have a really good happy hour too. Their food was affordable, tasty, and came in generous portions. Parking was bad near the restaurant, so we parked at the Amazon building that was a few blocks away. As a truffle lover, I was addicted to the fried rice! So well-fried, lots of beef, and the truffle flavor worked so well. The Typhon Shrimp was delicious and crispy, like nothing we've had before. The Chow Mein had a wonderful Wok Hei flavor and the chicken was juicy and tender. It was our favorite of the dishes. The Mixed Basket Xiao Long Bao was super fun to be able to try them all and pick your favorites. Mine was the wagyu beef, the original pork and the truffle. I was kind of sad that they didn't include soy vinegar and chili oil. I feel that those things enhance the Xiao Long Bao. The Lychee Sweet & Sour Pork Tenderloin I was most excited about. Unfortunately, it was the worst dish. The flavor was great. I love that it had lychee in it, but the breading was mush, and the pork was so hard and overcooked. It was inedible. A group of friends and I came here right after a concert nearby, and they were serving happy hour so we decided to try Chiho Bistro out! When we walked in, we had to place a reservation on their tablet up front. The young guy working front-of-house wasn't very welcoming, but had us seated after waiting about fifteen minutes. We were ready to order after they just got us seated, but he did not come to us until another fifteen minutes later. Service was definitely lack-luster that night. They also kept taking forever to get one of my friends orders out on time. Aside from service, the food was pretty good. We all ordered happy hour order and everyone seemed satisfied. Came here for happy hour on Friday night! Late night happy hour starts at 9 pm, and we ordered two of their $15-16 set menus. One came with beef noodle soup and traditional xiaolongbao, and the other came with spicy Dan Dan noodles and mala (spicy) xiaolongbao that tasted really similar to mala hot pot. Everything was delicious, tasted authentic, and the portions were perfect. The spicy dishes actually packed some nice heat, which I appreciated. We had no problem getting seated and the service was pretty quick. My partner and I stopped by and ordered 2x the Mixed Dumplings and the Typhoon Shelter Beef Short Ribs. The Beef Short Ribs are very delicious. Perfect with the fluffy white rice (rice was an additional order). Service was great, and everything looked beautiful from the interior to the food presentation. From the mixed dumplings, we were especially excited for the chicken, squid ink, and wagyu beef dumplings. We were really surprised to find that the vegan dumplings were actually our favorite! We were impressed with the flavor that was packed inside. The chicken dumpling was surprisngly a bit bland. If we lived in town, we would definitey return and order the vegan dumplings as a separate order along with the Beef Short Ribs again. The ambiance is nice! Lots of tables and service is friendly and efficient. The SRW menu is $65 available Sunday - Friday and it serves 2-3ppl. Portions are pretty generous, could maybe even serve 4 ppl if you have some lighter eaters. They have both a vegan SRW menu and a meat version. We opted for the meat one. Includes choice of dumpling, small bites, noodles, fried rice, and large plate, which is a pretty nice variety. My only critique was that I wish it included dessert or something sweet to end the meal on. Dumpling: Mala spicy soup dumpling - which was super tasty! Definitely my favorite of all the items! Small bites - sweet and sour baby back ribs - my husband was a huge fan! Had good flavor and a nice tang! Noodles - dan dan chili oil noodles - we really enjoyed the noodles! Wish the noodles had more chew but sauce was really good! Fried rice - shrimp fried rice - delicious! Large Plate - wagyu beef in chili oil - had nice flavor but the texture of the meat was a little weird for us. It's really soft. A few of us couples made this a date night on Saturday and were all seated at the bar, it was pretty disappointing. The food was delicious, just served in the smallest dishes. The pictures don't do them justice, the servings were much smaller in person. -The Mala Spicy Dumplings were amazing!! I highly recommend them. They weren't spicy at all, but maybe we didn't feel the spice since we love spicy food. -The Dan Dan noodles were alright, the sauce wasn't very numbing at all, it was a little disappointing but I know it's not always a fan fave so understand. -The Honey Walnut Shrimp was amazing!! This is a must if you like shrimp. The soju cocktails were so well made that we wanted more but were too full, especially the cocktail with lychee! The service was quick and efficient even on a busy night like the Lunar New Year celebrations. Even though we had a reservation, there was still a 10-minute wait, which was annoying at first, especially just to be sat at the bar. A fantastic visit in Seattle, recommend by Yelp -- and Yelp reviewers were right. This smaller shop offers moderately loud music with an upbeat theme as well as pan-Asian decor. Booths, lounge seats and standard dining tables are all offered, as well as bar seating. While not a large place, this spot offers BIG flavor!
