My colleagues and I took an Uber from our office to come here. We arrived at 7pm and the owner (Jose) tells us he's closed and only has water and coffee. We asked about the sign as well on Yelp and Google display their closing hours as 9pm. What was his response? The guy says, "I'm the owner, I can do what I want". He was correct. As the owner he can do as he wishes, and as a disgruntled customer, I have a right to take my business elsewhere. Not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews! It's literally at the top of the rail station ramp - and they have superb chicken and rice/beans. I ran in during the rain and had 8 minutes until my Amtrak. For under $10, I dashed out 4 min later with tender, juicy chicken, a small salad and moist and flavorful rice/beans. I tossed $10 in cash and sprinted to the train - and was the envy of my fellow commuters when I cracked open the container :) The green spicy sauce they included was the icing on my train-dinner cake. Amazing! I am almost looking forward to my next all day train trek up to the New Rochelle area so I can go back. Yum! read more

A very under-the-radar restaurant, Chili Dog knows how to serve roasted chicken. I have walked by this restaurant dozens of times on my way to and from the train station, but I decided to order from them one day, and I was not disappointed. Actually, I was disappointed that I had not considered them in the past. First time here definitely will not be my last. 1/2 Chicken w/ Rice, Beans, and Fries: The main course was delicious and plentiful. I really enjoyed the avocado sauce, which paired nicely with everything. The dark meat was the most flavorful (leg/thigh), but the thigh and wing were also tasty. Everything was well seasoned as well. The only item that could be improved would be the fries, which went well with everything as a "filler" item, but left a muted impression in comparison. I'd suggest seasoned fries as an option to really put it over the top. Churro: This was awesome. Definitely one of the best churros I have had (not many, but still). It was crispy, hot, and filled with a dulce de leche sauce. I should have ordered 5 of these. Maduros: Sweet and flavorful, these were good. They went well intermingled with the chicken meal. Tostones: As a big fan of chip-like menu items, I thought these were great -- a good amount of salt and plenty of crunch. I really liked these. We love their food, but their customer service is horrible!!! They have no customer service skills at all. Extremely rude staff. We as a family have always ordered a "Combo Taipa" (nothing else ever), which comes with a whole rotisserie chicken, fries, rice and a 2 lt soda. Today, my wife called to get the same order again; but when we received it, we were missing the rice and the soda. I then proceeded to call back to ask about them, and the guy rudely asked that if it hadn't been me placing the order, then why was I calling. I explained that my wife had asked me to call, to which he responded that he had to talk to her. I put my wife on the phone, and when my wife repeated her order, the guy denied having received that order, and contradicted her several times without apologizing NOT EVEN ONCE My wife got frustrated with him and asked for his name, but he didn't give it. I also asked for his name, but when I did, he just hanged up on me. I then went there to get the rice, and I was willing to pay for it just to get it over with, but when I said that I was the guy on the phone who was missing the rice and the soda, he started not paying attention to what I was saying claiming that "he had more orders to attend to", when all I wanted was an apology and to pay for a serving of rice. I could have been as rude as he was with us, but there was a small Hispanic family dinning there and I didn't want to make a scene, so I just waited for him to get me the rice, I paid him, and left. OMG, Chili Dog has the best chicken I've eaten in my life. It was so good that I forgot to review it. It's tender, juicy... and even the smallest size is served in a portion that will last you at least two days. Pair that with the rice and beans, and THAT GREEN SAUCE, HOLY BALLS IT'S A FLAVOR EXPERIENCE IN MY MOUTH. I apologize for the capital letters. But you have to understand just how good this pollo is. Came here for my hot dog cravings. First off the spot is pretty small, but it felt like a quick in and out type of place so I guess that's okay! The staff were all very friendly and service was good too. As for the food, there were some highs and lows. The chili cheese hot dog was overall a little bit over an average hot dog. The chili and the cheese were good, but the hot dog tasted like it was pre cooked earlier in the day so it wasn't as fresh and juicy tasting. The chicken wings were pretty solid. The name on the door is deceiving, it isn't primarily a Chili Dog place. Their menu has few chili food options compared to Hubba's in Port Chester and Pat's Hubba Hubba in Stamford. You can get a Chili Dog, a Chili Burger, and Salchipa's (which I am yet to try). If you would like cheese, it is a cheese sauce, which is very messy. I would recommend that they use cheese slices for the cheese dogs. Now with all that being said, the chili alone is amazing. I would say that it's better than Hubba's or Pat's Hubba Hubba, but I am too loyal to make that call just yet. I have only had the chili dogs and I must say, DELICIOUS!!! If you want a simple chili dog, this is that place to go, seating is minimal, but there is never a wait and the chili dogs are ready in minutes. I highly recommend this place to anyone that just wants a chili dog or a bowl of chili. If you want more options for your chili, then stick with Hubba's in Port Chester, but don't count this place out, the chili is just as good. read more

I don't understand why this place is named chili dog when Pollo A La Brasa (Peruvian style roast chicken) is their speciality. I come here pretty often because the food is delicious and dirt cheap. For less than 10 dollars, you get a platter with tons of rice n beans, garden salad and half of a chicken. If you eat at the counter, you get all of their delicious green sauce you want. If you order take out, you get a measly little cup of it. Every additional cup will cost you 50 cents. On a side note, I have tried the chili dogs here before. Nothing spectacular. I give them a 2/5. The worst staff ever !!! Their attitudes are horrible, people like that shouldn't work in the restaurant industry. I love this place. My Fiance lived in Larchmont and the kids always talked about Walters since they knew I loved Hot Dogs. They took me the first time and what a disappointment! I can't understand why Larchmont folks stand in a long, slow line to get a tasteless hot dog where you need some kid to add ketchup or mustard. I've gone a few more times, reluctantly. It's a complete hole in the wall. Really good rotisserie chicken...very tender, juicy, and flavorful. We ordered the 1/2 chicken with rice and beans and salchipapas (french fries and hot dog) with chili and cheese. If you're familiar with Pio Pio in Queens or Manhattan, the chicken is similar and they also serve the crack-like green sauce (aji). The aji is not as good as Pio Pio, BUT I still enjoyed it. They also have a red sauce that actually has more kick. Their chili is very spicy and not very watery. It's mostly ground beef simmered in spices. Delicious! If you're going to try the chili on the salchipapa, I would recommend getting the cheese sauce, too, to cut the spice. If I wasn't afraid of getting a heart attack, I would probably eat a plate of the salchipapa with chili and cheese by myself. read more

Really good food here I had a 1/4 chicken white meat with rice and fries. The chicken was seasoned really well and very moist. He said they marinade it overnight. The only rice they have is yellow with beans already cooked in them so some people might not like it but you can always get the chicken with a side of fries and salad.
