Wait staff blamed the kitchen rather than owning the mistakes on behalf of the restaurant. Took five minutes, and two requests, for my wife to even get her tiny container of sour cream. Wildly different while still being so freaking amazing. There's a certain spice or something that they use in the Birria that hits just right. That's the only true way I can explain it. I can't tell if the 'consume' is chili or what from here? At Los Pookies it seems to be like a broth, but here is a thicker & spicier sauce which compliments the tacos so well. (please let me know!). It gets quite busy in here especially with it being setup as more of a sports bar, with the TV's and such. They have a shaded patio which I believe also may have a TV* (don't quote me on this part) . What's up with all the Christian music in every Weck's location? And while although we don't have a problem with any type of music in public places occasionally, the nonstop barrage of Christian Nationalist anthems while we're eating (and paying good money for) is simply too much. For a metropolitan community which claims to be as culturally diverse and inclusive as Albuquerque does, we find this particular religious accompaniment both blatant and offensive. After all, if you want to publicize religion, what about the Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, or Native American beliefs? Why is their types of music not being listened to and represented? This is pure discrimination, and frankly, it's not right. That said, until Weck's starts to embrace the multicultural city which predominates their revenue stream, my husband and I will be boycotting this particular local chain.

Because of those experiences, this review is disappointing to write. Our recent dine-in experience was completely different. The employee who took our order came across as impatient from the start. Before I had finished ordering, he gave me the total after I mentioned my sandwich. I had to stop him to add two drinks, he sighed, asked how many, and immediately gave me another total. When I added a Goo Ball, he grabbed it, set it on the counter, rang up the new total, and again acted as though I was finished ordering before I had the chance to ask for anything else. We had actually planned to order more, but the interaction made us feel like we were inconveniencing him simply by ordering. I work in the restaurant industry myself, so I understand that everyone has bad days. Had that been the only issue, I wouldn't have taken the time to leave a review. The reason I'm writing this is what happened after we sat down. A woman who appeared to be the employee's girlfriend came into the restaurant, and his demeanor changed immediately. While he was still on the clock, she stood at the front counter by the register, and for much of the time we were there they were engaged in prolonged, intimate kissing and embracing. My girlfriend and I were seated in the booth closest to the register, only a few feet away, and she was facing them the entire time. It made her genuinely uncomfortable, and there was no way to avoid it while we were eating. At one point, a DoorDash driver came in to pick up an order. The employee briefly pointed toward the back of the restaurant, said, "Over there, man," without even looking at the driver, and then immediately went back to his girlfriend. That interaction made it clear he was still actively working while all of this was happening. To be clear, this isn't about an employee greeting their significant other. A quick hug or kiss wouldn't have bothered us. This was prolonged, intimate behavior at the front register while customers were dining, and it felt completely inappropriate for the workplace. I do want to recognize the rest of the staff because they deserve it. Everyone else was working, and the bartender was friendly, professional, and provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. We'll continue ordering DoorDash because the food has always been consistently good, but we won't be dining in at this location again. We'd rather drive the extra 20 minutes to the Menaul location where we've always had positive experiences. I'm not looking for compensation or anything in return. I simply hope management is made aware of what happened because one employee's conduct turned what should have been an enjoyable lunch into an uncomfortable experience.

In fact I'm glad I called and asked if I could taste some their sauces because if I didn't do that then I wouldn't have gotten any sauce! For example the house sauce and spicy ranch I ordered for the salad didn't arrive. The sauces I ordered with the meal were not delivered and the only ones I received were the extra mixture of sauces that the guy on the phone said he usually would have to charge me for but he would comp it. And it turns out he didn't get the sauces that were supposed to come with the meal and those were the only ones I got anyway. One upsetting part was that if they ran out of stuff they did not try to alert the customer and offer replacement items. I will say this, when I called about this, I got an apology and offer for free items. If I do go back to claim the items I'll let you guys know what the update is like. I think this might be the type of place that you'd want to check your order carefully and only leave once you know you are good to go. I don't recommend doing uber eats from here.
