Not many there. That was fine by us. Quicker service, right? No. We waited while our server dealt with a loud and fussy customer who seemed to find something wrong with everything. Not really what you hope for when you want to just have a quiet dinner and some great food. So we waited. Once the server came, we ordered some margaritas and the mozzarella sticks.... And chips and salsa. She informed us that it was happy hour and margaritas were buy one get one free. Cool! Only have to pay for one! Nope. She brought us EACH two margaritas. Looking back, there wasn't enough alcohol in them to even feel the slightest buzz nor even taste the alcohol. Very watered down. We ordered our entrees. Both had the honey chipotle chicken crispers with fries and Mexican street corn. Then we dug in to the mozzarella sticks and the chips and salsa. Okay... let me tell you... The hype is legit for these mozzarella sticks! The cheese pull is insane! Breaded to perfection and full of cheese. More like planks instead of the sticks you get at other restaurants. Incredible! Our meals arrived soon and our table was full. The Mexican street corn is not like any I've had at other restaurants. It's still on the cob. It was good, but I'd say I've had better. The fries were great, but I was getting full and hadn't touched the crispers yet. Let's talk about the honey chipotle crispers... WOWZERS!!! Those things are fire! Could. Not. Get. Enough!! Full of flavor and just a bit of heat. They don't skimp on the meat either. Another hit! I highly recommend you check these out. You won't be disappointed. Unless it's the margaritas. We visited the Gunbarrel location at 7:30 pm. We only waited 5 min before we were seated. Our server, Ellison, was very attentive and recommended several menu items that were the peoples's favorites. My wife ordered the southwestern egg rolls and I ordered a combo of ribs and chicken quesadillas. The egg rolls were awesome!!! The ribs were good also. My quesadillas had an issue but Ellison and Brett, the manager, discussed and corrected it very quickly. The service was top notch and Ellison and Brett were super nice. My husband and I were really craving Chili's tonight so we took and chance with this location, despite the bad reviews, and I'm so glad we did! Yes, they are understaffed. Yes, the wait was long. I waited 30 minutes past the estimated pick up time. I wasn't kept in touch about my order status. Also, due to the very poorly managed/organized to go parking area, I was honked and yelled at by another customer attempting to cut me off into the parking spot. After being put on hold three times in an attempt to inquire about my order, I definitely as though my time was disrespected. Like everywhere else these days, this Chili's is short staffed. When we arrived we were quoted about a 45 minute wait, unless we wanted to sit at the bar. To avoid waiting, we chose that option. The bartender was very pleasant and joked around with us a good bit. He made the experience a lot of fun. My mom and I shared a BBQ quesadilla and chicken tender plate. The quesadilla was very tasty but a little spicier than mom liked, but I thought it was great! They had two for one margaritas that were good and I had a Tito's punch, which I thought was better. We ended up getting a chocolate lava cake to go and ate it the next morning for breakfast. We will definitely go back to this Chili's and will probably opt to sit at the bar again because we liked the bartender so much. Only thing I can say that was a little off-putting was that there were a couple of women who sat at the bar with two very young children. I ordered an order of chicken fajitas and fried pickles to go. My husband and I have had this exact same meal eating in and it was fantastic. I got to work and decided to taste it. Oh my goodness, this was the absolute worst food that I have ever had from there. There was literally oil pooling in the container from the pickles. It was disgusting. When I opened tasted the fajitas, the chicken was slimey and fatty. The amount of shredded cheese they gave was laughable, they sent a 1/2 ounce container that was not even half full. The side salad I ordered was smashed into a small soup container? Needless to say that after spending $20 on a meal to go, I completely expected a better experience. This must be the worst dining experience of all time. We came to Chilis as a party of 7 on a Sunday evening. There were maybe 5 tables total in the restaurant and they informed us there was a 30 minute wait. We understand there may be a shortage of staff. So, we waited. Finally, about 45 mins later they finally sat us down. We waited another 15 minutes to be greeted by a server who couldn't take our order because he left his tablet somewhere. He told us he would bring us chips and salsa for having to wait so long. We were thankful. Well, after ordering, the chips and salsa never came. Another girl that was working brought it out drinks out not the server. We saw he was clearly too busy in the back speaking with the manager. The manager on duty this evening didn't even help bus the tables, run food, refill drinks...he was clearly on supervisor only duty. The entire restaurant is chaos and the MOD is standing posted in the back. We eventually got our food, but no refills. The server seemed to be high on life or some top notch substance. When we asked for refills, they were brought by the same girl in the back to the table beside us. The server never noticed that the drinks were placed on the wrong table right in-front of his own eyes while take the order of that table. I would continue, but it would be wasted breath. I feel back for the one girl in the back taking care of the tables, running the food, refilling drinks etc. The all seeing eyed bearded guy in the back that seems to be the manager should give her a raise, or maybe drug test the rest of the staff. I showed up in 25 minutes because it's never ready when you get there but that's ok. Wound up waiting nearly another 30 minutes. The 3 for $10 is now 3 for 10.99. And they don't have broccoli as a side. If you're trying to do low carb at all, that was the only side you could have. But worst of all is that they charged us for chips and salsa (I know this isn't low carb either, sue me) that should have been free. The person working the pickup just ignored new people coming in and the only thing she ever said to me when my order was ready was my last name.
