Truly, I don't like to use Yelp for negative reviews but here we are. I dined in at chilis tonight (Friday August 1) where I had multiple discrepancies.... I took my 3 year old to the bathroom where here we used the bigger/ handicapped stall located right next to the entrance... upon exiting the stall an employee abruptly opened the door hitting my child in the head... There she had apologized saying "these doors are dangerous" and knowing that why would you open the door like that... sure it's poor design but maybe that is something to consider to prevent a future law suit from happening cuz I can guarantee that this would be in violation of some safety/ fire code... At this point I was livid and wanted to leave so I asked for my check and when reviewing my tab I had realized I was over charged ! I was one over charged for an extra appetizer (when I had addressed the server if I had ordered a chips and salsa and she said "no" so I ordered "another" resulting in me getting charged for two... and also charged for an extra margarita. The discrepancies were fixed with my tab and I closed out.... After I asked to speak to a manager and her response was lacking professionalism. I work as a bartender/ MOD at a restaurant as well and when I told her what had happened she said, " did my employee apologize"... "I didn't build the bathrooms" Despite the fact of her rude and inhospitable manner she asked me what she can do? And I asked her "what can you do?" She doesn't deserve that Title of being a manager due to the fact that she lacks knowledge as to how to handle these kind of situations... The over charging me is something I can let slide.... But the lack of compassion towards a staff member hurting my son... is beyond me I will be finding a way to reach the higher ups. Until then I will not be returning to this location read more

I gave 3 stars because the food wasn't as good. None of us finished our meal like we normally so. Food: we ordered a variety of things from ribs to burgers to keiki options, rib eye, combo platters, appetizers. When you get your burger but no fries and have to wait 10 more minutes for the side, it doesn't work. A meal needs to have all it's components. Several of our meals didnt come complete and we had to wait for the side or it was the wrong side actually twice for one meal in particular. We prefer to have the keiki meals come out first so they can start enjoying their meal while the adults wait. It was a mixture of items coming out to the table. I will say that our server tried her best to accommodate us and tried to make sure we had everything we needed like refills, ex napkins etc. No complaints for service. One server for our party (12). We barely waited 10 minutes for our table and that made things easy I guess the reason for 3 stars is a mixture of not so tasty food, some missed items as they brought out our meals and us leaving a little hungry. We will still visit Chili's either way because it is a family friendly restaurant with all American menu items. read more

This was not a good experience. The burger was dripping in oil and grease. Was not checked on and no servers were walking by my area, so after waiting about 10 minutes, gave up and took the burger apart to eat what I could and the fries. The fun started when the hostess greeted me in the front after no one being there for several minutes, walking me back to a table and then stopping by the kitchen first then turning to me looking surprised and asking why did I follow her. I repeated that she said hello and offered to walk me to a table. She said she forgot. What, in 30 seconds? Then told me to go back to the lobby to be seated. I ended up getting her as my server and she was really embarrassed. The other fun was when a guy brought my food out and said he had seen me there often. I said nope, not me. Disappointed that the street tacos were removed from the menu, but settled with the triple dipper. I had the mozzarella sticks (it's big), big bites, and chicken tenders. All were delicious just hoped the chicken tenders was a lot warmer. Waitress was nice and very attentive always refilling our cups with water. Although there wasn't the street tacos I also come to Chilis for their molten chocolate cake, this dessert never fails. We used to recommend this place and came about 3 times a month -- this visit felt like they'd stopped caring. We asked to switch to a booth for more space and were brushed off because "they didn't have enough servers," said with annoyance. Our server looked swamped but polite. The food was unacceptable: soggy fries, a cold half-rack of ribs, and mac & cheese that arrived cold. The chicken tenders were dry and rubbery -- when I complained the waiter offered to "fix" them, but I decided that for roughly $30 the whole meal wasn't worth it. I asked to have the meal taken back; when the waiter returned I insisted on canceling the order entirely because what they served wasn't worth my hard‑earned money. On top of that the AC was blasting so cold other diners were complaining. For a place we were loyal to, this was a clear failure of kitchen execution and basic management. Fix the food quality and the dining experience, or you'll lose regulars. read more

We were a big party. Sat in 3 different tables. One of the tables had constant cold AC blowing straight on you. First, we asked if we could turn off. No can do. Only later to find out it could've been set at a warmer setting. Then we asked if could move. No can do. But later, we were so uncomfortable we were standing up to keep warm & moving to empty tables to see if it was warm enough. Also, the light above us was flickering. By then, I started to feel a migraine settling in! The food finally came after 45 minutes of waiting. The food is good but the fries weren't hot. Also, there was no water refills. The service here has been going downhill. Our server, Kimi, had an attitude at the beginning with us, but was clearly nicer to other customers in the establishment. We ordered drinks, watched her pour it, and she just let it sit there and brought it to us 15 minutes later. The beer was 1/3 empty, warm, and flat. My daughter said thank you for her bringing our drinks but she didn't even acknowledge her, kept walking, and started acting all sweet with the table behind us. Kimi was very rude and short, and threw the pen at the table when she was giving us our check, since we didn't have time to wait another hour for our food. The soup we ordered was great, though. The food here is good, but the service is pretty bad. We came for a late lunch and once our order was taken our waiter disappeared. Luckily our food came out hot and fresh. It was the first time I've tried their burgers and they were delicious! The loaded baked potato soup was very good too. The chicken fajitas came out on a sizzling plate and had good flavors. We also go the white queso dip and it was so good! I wish it were a bit hotter (temp wise) as it was in a cast iron skillet. We were seated on the right side of the restaurant. Have eaten at chiles previous times in the past. Fair food for fair prices. But went at lunch to get the special 3 item hamburger special advertised on TV during sporting events recently. Told by Bartender, that chili's doesn't offer the advertised special in Hawaii. I asked about substitute. Told they have none. I said that is called a bait and switch since nowhere on ad does it say not offered in Hawaii. Bartender ( short local female heavy set not sure of name) immediately got angry and challenged me to name other restaurants that advertise and honor specials, because she claimed ALL RESTAURANTS DO WHAT CHILIS IS DOING AND NO RESTAURANTS HONOR SPECIALS in Hawaii. A blatantly false claim to anyone not living under a rock. I said I am not here to debate other restaurants, I am here for Chili's. She again yelled "name one, name one".... of course I did not since that was a ridiculous challenge on her part and extremely rude. I immediately got up to leave, knowing the conversation was adversarial and going nowhere. Also, I will never go to chili's again, and I will encourage anyone i know to avoid it as well. I do not appreciate the attitude or the attack and I hope someone in management reads this and counsels that bartender on attitude and customer service protocol. Chili's should post a sign that the special is not available, or offer a substitute of some type, or at a minimum train employees how to address the issue when it arises. Honestly, if the bartender would've been courteous I would have ordered a substitute item. But that has passed and chilis is off my list forever. I will also file a complaint with consumer protection in the AG office of the state for violation of bait and switch laws. MANY mainland and chain restaurants advertise in Hawaii, and many DO honor the advertised special. It is not up to the chili's bartender to challenge customers in any way about chili's own violations and choice to NOT honor the advertised special. Came here after church obviously it's very convenient we called they said no wait we got there in 3minutes from the call 30minutes wait . That's fine as I understand things change quickly in restaurants . We sat down were greeted by the kind waiter and ordered. The house salad was out of a bag with watered down dressing , the drinks were great lemonades for the table and we each got different ones bo complaints . Then they brought the main courses and I was not happy . The person who got the triple dipper was the only one who enjoyed their food you literally can't mess up premade deep fried food (hopefully) I got the new chicken guac burger fried and it came out no guac a ton of mayo a half cut price of brioche no guac and it was grilled . I was so confused did they give me the wrong order ? But I tried to just roll with it and took a bite I almost threw up . The lettuce was so soggy the grilled chicken was grilled for 30minutes at least not sure how it could've been any dryers. The waiter was so kind no complaints about him at all obviously not his fault. My friend ordered salmon and got small pieces of fries in her potatoes ? Very unsure what that was about . My family and I came into this location at 10pm after I was finished my job as a server at a different restaurant. We were seated pretty quickly by a manager. I came in with my 1 year old and my other half. No one offered a highchair or anything. Our server came to the table with an attitude. All the workers looked pissed off to be there. I understand we came alittle before you guys close but our waiter was straight up just rude and not friendly. He'll ask a question and in the middle of me talking he walks away. No eye contact not happy positive environment. AT ALL. The food was good. But the he service wasn't at all okay. From the servers who work Friday evenings. I packed up my takeout and the server was waiting there for me to make my payment... and seen me leaving.. I forgot my takeout. Instead of stopping me and letting me know.. I walked to my car finding out i forgot it I came back to see if it was there. 50/50 chance it probably wasn't gonna be there.. and the older lady server told me " it's takeout.. you forgot to take it out. So it's already dumped" and walked away & went about what she was doing. Seriously no consideration of the fact that was charged extra for the things I was meaning to take home. I would have been okay if there was some sort of " I'm so sorry" or "shucks my bad I just threw it out" or accommodation. Anything but a passive aggressive response. I took it as a lost & also as a experience on what not to be. I still tipped good because I'm a server myself I understand people have their days. But not an excuse.. just a friendly reminder for the wait help working with people. You need to show you like your job or atleast like people at all. Checking in and making sure your customers are happy is really the bare minimum. SMILE. I really just can't believe I experienced such rude people. Placed an online order at 6 pm for a 7:15 pickup. It's 7:45 and I'm still waiting. This location is notorious for slow service but it's the closest to my location. Should have driven up to Mililani. Went to da waikele location this afternoon was super busy but das what you can expect on sunday because its church. Some things took a little while to come out but like i said it was jam packed! Salsa isnt the same its not chunky like before. Not sure if that was the owner a guy in white wit curly hair he wasnt in a chilis uniform so i assume hes the owner or whateva but if he is he needs to work on his personality dude doesnt smile hes all over the place bumping into people and tables haha atleast walk around and smile show your customers you appreciate their business dude looks like he like scrap and hates it haha! The table next over to us was talking about how he kept sweeping while they were eating I think that's kind of rude in a way uncle laughed it off as we made eye contact. Over all my burger was awesome as always fries hot and crispy, wife's pasta was smacking! Kids loved the lava cake thing and their kids meals mac and cheese and pizza. my in laws loved the ribs and steak was great. Did the shrimp shrink though lol? I'm a regular at Chilis because my kids love their triple dippers- especially the southwestern egg rolls The food is pretty consistent which is why we always return. Five stars go to our server today at the Waikele location. Ciara (spelling?) was super attentive and never missed a beat. She kept our drinks filled, chips basket and salsa full and our entrees were served all together. She even offered to divide a meal on two plates because I told her my gbabies were sharing that particular entree. Great customer service! Thank you. Kudos to you. read more
