Worth a trip and repeat trips. The Volcano drink they make is the perfect constellation of flavors, not one of which is too heavy to overpower the others. Simple and fresh ingredients are the key for all their drinks. They do it well. Quirky kind of decorating but that doesn't matter to me since it's clear they are trying to keep their customers comfortable and feeling welcome. Mission accomplished. One bonus is that it's far easier to park here than it is across the street in the zany aggressive parking lot for Harris Teeter where Starbucks is. At Chill Zone, I can park and go in and order my drink, then wait for it and half-consume it, then get into my car and be halfway to DC in the same amount of time it takes me to loop around the Harris Teeter lot a 3rd or 4th time trying to strategically jockey for the right position to claim someone's spot when they pull out. (And then get dirty looks from 3 other drivers who thought they had dibs on that spot). It would be great if Chill Zone offered a smaller size like half of the current portion, even for 60-70% of the price. Unless you are sharing with someone the current portion size is a too much. read more

It's a good study spot and the Jasmine milk tea I got was so yummy. They have wifi & a phone charging station which was really nice & accommodating for people wanting to stay there longer. The space is a little small but the atmosphere is nice and cozy + the decorations are totally instagram worthy. Customer service is great too! This place saved my life on a brutally hot Tuesday in June (remember that heat wave?). I had just finished canvassing for election day and badly needed a place to cool off. I try to support independent shops, so I was happy when I spotted Chill Zone in Lee-Harrison Shopping Center. Inside, I found charming, cozy decor, very friendly service, a good menu, and a tower of self-serve ice water. I ordered a pretty tasty taro frappe, logged on to the wifi, and spent a very pleasant half hour working up the strength to go back outside and bike to my next destination. My only suggestion would be to offer the frappes in smaller sizes. Something 12 or 16 oz. would have been perfect for me. I will never forget this place! I visited Chill Zone for the first time. I have been eyeing this spot for a little, but I finally gave in. First impressions, relaxed and small environment. I enjoyed the way the small shop was decorated, very cozy. I ordered the matcha frapp and it was delicious (organic and fresh ingredients). While I waited on my order I stopped by the infused water station. That was really refreshing. Much of the seating are barstools. I think it would be nice if there was a couch, bean bag chairs or actual chairs. I would love to come in one day and be able to lay back and read. Everything is clean and fresh. I will definitely be returning, very pleased. read more

Update - June 2017 - the Taro smoothie is so so so delicious. Just the right balance of taro flavor and sweetness. The other great thing about their smoothies is that they do not use powders!! So everything is fresh. Including the taro!! I couldn't recommend this place anymore for clean and great fruit drinks. The boba is very refreshing and not chewy unlike the other milk tea/boba shops! --------- Chill Zone... at first I thought it was a computer game shop, but it's far from that. Newly opened, and with any cafe or shop, they are trying ways to improve stuff. Stopped in and tried the Affogato which is Vietnamese coffee with a delicious scoop of vanilla ice cream and slightly salted milk foam on top. I dare you to try it. First off... who can say no to Vietnamese iced coffee??! And if you've never tried it, then you should. (Strong dark coffee with condensed milk and sugar over ice). This drink gave me all the caffeine feels strong coffee should give you! If I had to make a recommendation, ask for less ice and let the ice cream slowly seep into your coffee and becomes creamier. There's a variety of drink options, more like a dessert type with the milk teas, bobba tea, etc. I can't comment on the rest of the items, but the shop is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. There's a cute platform area to sit around a low lying table (Asian style) and also stools with high top bar, and a couple small tables. I saw a few people studying or doing work around the shop. They also feature local art (this time it was portrait photography from a high school student I think). I'd come back if I were in the area! Worth a drop in for sure! read more

What a delightfully cozy cafe: warm service, yummy eats, and a warm, intimate space. This cafe transports me back to SE Asia where these sorts of understated-ly lovely cafes abound: ones that serve up delicious food in a beautiful space but without all the Western bourgeoise nonsense. Even though I live pretty far away from Arlington, I always end up treating myself to Chill Zone whenever I find myself in the area. The decor is beautiful and I it's a good place for me to get work done too! My favorite drinks here are the matcha and taro Fraps. They put actual chunks of taro in the blender here - none of that powder stuff- and their matcha is very strong as well. I got their jasmine bubble tea here the first time i came and the tea was very fragment (it means they spare no expense when making their tea!) All their Boba are mini (I actually prefer this but some people don't expect it) and the "tear drop Boba" is also called agar Boba (if you know what that is. I had never tried it before coming to Chillzone) Definitely a very local bubble tea store that cares about the quality of their drinks! I hope you love it as much as I do! read more

Probably one of the most relaxing cafes in Nova. Fantastic atmosphere, lots of fairy lights and cute decorations. We got two matcha bubble teas and they tasted great. I guess the only thing that was a little disappointing was that it was fairly crowed with people studying. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with it, but they took up all the best seats in the house and stayed there for hours. They were there when we arrived and were still there when we left an hour and a half later. read more

This place is nice, it is clean. But unfortunately the Vietnamese iced coffee is a scam. Its really upsets me to write a bad review about a locally mom and pop restaurant but chill zone cuts many corners. The iced coffee is literally all ice and barely and coffee. After asking why there is so much ice I got the robotic response of this is how we make it. Secondly my friend order a regular latte and they did not present into a mug or coffee mug but in an actually glass cup, where she had to wait for it to cool down to drink it. This place really needs to work on its hospitality. This could have been resolved if they were nice instead of responding in poor manner. read more

When I first walked in, i noticed how cute the place was, it's small, but very comfy! The customer service is incredible and they always had a smile on their faces. They also had an iPad next to the cash register so that you could swipe through and look at the food and drinks. I got the Thai Milk Tea and my friend got a Taro Frap and they both were sooooo good. Chill Zone is one of my favorite smoothie cafes in Northern Virginia. I'm a big fan of their fraps. Not many places have an avocado smoothie and I would order it every time if they didn't have other drinks on their menu that I also want! My favorite is the Volcano Mango but the Power C and Be Peachy are close behind. Maybe I'm just drawn to the tamarind candy stick that comes with lol! My fiance likes their "real drinks" and will order one of their fancy coffees or milk/matcha teas. The space definitely feels modern so it feels like a hipster coffee bar. We've also ordered some of the food here and it really seems a little expensive for Vietnamese food but I guess you're paying for trendy. It's the only place that I have noticed bot chien on their menu but their food is average and I would rather drive down the street a few miles to Seven Corners for a better meal and save a few dollars but as a snack, Chill Zone is not a bad place to hang out. read more

My friend and I stopped by Chill Zone on a Sunday afternoon--I was pleasantly surprised by the vibe of the cafe! The owner was super nice and friendly and there was a decent amount of places to sit. I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea and my friend got the Black Milk Tea. The price was reasonable for such a large-sized drink. The only complaint I have about the bubble tea is that the tea was a little bit overwhelming and could've used some more milk. We also both ordered the Grilled Pork w/ Steamed Rice, which was good but probably not worth $10. I will definitely be coming back to the Chill Zone! Beef Ban mi was super yummy and my cappuccino also. My husband got the chicken Ban mi and it was pretty good too, not as good as mine but quite good. He also had a frozen drink with boba that was good. The balls were much smaller than other boba drinks so you get a lot in your mouth when you sip. It's not overwhelming though. read more
