Excellent! Service was swift and friendly, atmosphere was good and the food far exceeded our expectations! The prime rib was perfectly tender and delicious. The short ribs were fall apart fabulous. All sides were wonderful. Portions were incredibly generous. Pricing is very reasonable for the caliber and quantity of the food we were served. All of these factors are further enhanced by the fact that our party of 8 were there on a busy Saturday night. There was absolutely nothing that fell short with our experience at this restaurant. read more

Arrived at 5pm anticipating our Thanksgiving dinner and they were out of turkey! The dinner choice was ham or ham, so I had ham, and I don't like ham. I could have had steak for an upgraded price but I was not about to reward their incompetence. Some diners later had chicken which would have been an acceptable substitute but was not offered. The ham that I got was thick cut breakfast style served at room temp with barely warm mashed potatoes, brown gravy and roll with no butter. The sides were greens which I did not sample, sauteed sweet potatoes which were tasty, broccoli salad (and odd offering), and dry, tasteless pretzel stuffing (for ham?!?!). Dessert was a somewhat stale but generous slice of carrot cake. Coffee was not on the menu. We were not offered any kind of comp even after we complained to management. I will NEVER eat at Chillfire again. read more

Four of us for an early meal. Everyone raved about their dinners. Staff here are just wonderful. I'm thinking our waiter was Dennis. He was always there to fill our water and cocktails. Believe it or not, I had to try their meatloaf. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the meatloaf had this wonderful crust. It was a pleasant surprise! Next time will be their brazed rib. This was our first visit and we will definitely become regulars. The staff was very attentive, the restaurant is beautiful (more upscale). The menu has a nice selection of choices. We shared a wedge salad and the NC Trout - very tasty. I had one of the best red sangrias, ever. The dessert menu is also worthy of a try, but we were pretty full. Amanda was our waitress - she was polite and courteous (as was all of the staff). The manager stopped by our table several times to make sure everything was to our liking. Went there on a Wednesday evening and it was so loud I could barely hear the person across the table from me and no I don't have a hearing loss. The food was mediocre at best. A chicken sandwich was rubbery and the cheese was gummy. My partner had the trout. She asked for no salt and got zero seasonings. The coup de gra was when the "manager" came to our table and leaned in, nearly face planting on my plate, ugh! When I kindly asked him to please back up a bit he acted offended and left. Out service was really good. The food was excellent! I recommend the steak, spinach and macaroni and cheese. My daughter had the tenders and bake potato. We have been several times and quite enjoy it. The atmosphere feels upscale with a touch of artistry. The food is generally quite good with only rare exceptions. The pricing is appropriate for the atmosphere, quality and presentation. Chicken dishes can be a bit over-cooked, but that is quite common in the US due to reasonable fears of food-borne disease. The wine menu is quite good with appropriate pricing. The wine presentation could use some sommelier training, but the service is so good that it is easy to look past it. The mixed drinks are made exceptionally well and are also generally reasonably priced. I was impressed by the proper presentation of my Sambuca on one visit. I have had very good service here. Specials' available hours can be confusing - such as some appetizers only available prior to dinner hours. The only negative to the atmosphere is that it does get a bit loud at times - the seating being packed relatively tightly together (compared to other restaurants at this level of quality) adds to the cacophony. Families with properly controlled children are welcome which can be a plus - and it seems those who do bring children do an exceptionally good job at respecting personal space and avoiding the specific bar seating. That is just to say the caliber of patronage is quite good. I will return many times. read more

Been for dinner and for their Sunday Brunch and give dinner higher marks than the brunch but not all that much higher. In general, 3 stars feels about right for Chillfire. The focus of this review will be the brunch as it was the most recent experience. Made reservations for 12:30 and good thing as the place was packed with a good many parties waiting. Even with the reservations we weren't seated for about 5 minutes but that's no biggie. The set up features a dessert bar in the middle of the restaurant, a separate room with both hot and cold / breakfast and lunch items as well as what I would describe as a listing of five or six small plates (ex. Eggs Benedict) which you can order at no additional charge. For about $19 I'd say it's a decent value in terms of the volume of food available. On to food quality... The quality varied depending on what we tried. Fried chicken = meh, salad = good mainly because of the blue cheese dressing which was tasty. There was bacon, sausage links, biscuits and sausage gravy (it was barely warm) on the breakfast end of the spectrum and O'Brien potatoes, mixed veggies, mac n cheese along with the aforementioned meh chicken on the lunch side. We did order the Benedict as well which was prepared well with a perfectly poached egg atop the Canadian bacon and biscuit. I ordered a Bloody Mary when we first sat down and it didn't arrive until after I was done with my first trip through the buffet line so that was kind of a bummer. All in all, good value for the dollar but with food that's really not worth the drive from home as there are much better options nearby. read more

The food wasn't any better than something I could make at home. The risotto was particularly disappointing, it was bland and gummy. We ordered a peach Bellini (Prosecco with peach purée), and it ended up being diced canned peaches which felt like an at home hack. Your kid didn't eat her fruit cup? No worries, stick some in a champagne glass and pretend you're fancy. Our server barely spoke to us. We had no idea if there were any specials or what the kitchen recommended. We've eaten here almost weekly for the past year. I love the Chillfire cocktail. My husband loved the dirty martini. The fried wings with blue cheese are the best, with a wedge salad and the truffle fries. Perfect date night. Unfortunately the last two times we went about a month or so ago my husband got violently I'll within a couple hours, so it's no longer an option for us. We ate the same food, and I did not get sick, so we feel like it had to be the blue cheese stuffed olives in his martini or the martini mix/olive brine. Such a bummer because it was a go to spot and now it's off the table. read more

We popped in on a whim last night and although they were packed we were able to grab to seats at the bar after a short wait. Service was excellent and the food was superb. We have been to Chillfire several times. The service is always impeccable without being overly pushy and ready to turn over your table. The food is cooked to perfection and they've always made accommodations. Everyone needs to try their Caesar Salad, it's like none other you've ever had before. I guarantee it! I had Lake Norman cheesy bread, and it was great. I ordered the 14 ounce ribeye with a loaded baked potato. I brought most of it home because I got tired sawing and chewing the steak. Made a reservation on Valentines Day. First visit to Chillfire. There was a special menu that evening, it covered all the bases. We started with the Shanghai shrimp two thumbs up! I had the simple salad it was great. For the main entrees we had the filet mignon it was so very delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband had the blackened Salmon he thought it was awesome. Desert it was the red velvet cake. I usually do not care for red velvet but this was wonderful. Overall it was a satisfying first experience. We will definitely be back. read more
