I came here with my daughter after a long day of work. I'd been wanting to try this place as my gym is right next door. After reading the reviews on Yelp I knew it had to be good. When we walked in we were absorbed by this cute and quaint interior that left me feeling like I was in DTLA in an underground pub. The ambiance was amazing even while playing K-Pop the whole time which I usually am not a fan of. The staff was amazing and helpful as we told them this was our first time. The owner works as a waitress and was very nice and caring. We ordered the spam fries (AMAZING), the chicken teriyaki skillet (delicious) and the lemon pepper nuggets (YUMMY). Everything came out fresh and full of flavor. The half order of nuggets was huge and I was unable to finish. They provided a cabbage salad with a thousand island type of dressing and a side of pickled daikon which ticked all the boxes! They have a decent beer selection and Soju. Really cute place with good vibes and yummy Korean fried chicken!! Went here on a Thursday night with my group of friends and it was a chill place to drink soju and enjoy food together. The place is owned by a Korean couple and the staff are super nice. This location is still very new so I would just say to be patient with the staff if they make mistakes or take a little longer. It's also good to know that this place is also very small and there's only about 22 seats total so just keep in mind that during busy hours you might not get a table for some time. read more

Wow, what an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere enough was amazing. With all the lights, cute decorations, and wonderful outdoor seating I was content with what I was just eying. As someone who is picky with where they eat I was a little nervous walking in, but walked out amazed and already planning a new visit! The food was stupendous and one of the best Korean dishes I have ever had. The cheese corn was sweet and the way all the flavors meshed together was incredible. Not only that, but the make your own rice balls (the kimchi ones specifically) we're new and fun. Something about making your food at the table with the comfort of friends was something that can't be replicated by someone serving it ready made. Not to mention their spicy rice cakes were to die for. With a sweet and spicy sauce and cheese on top that pulls and sticks without being overbearing. The best flavor for their wings had to be the spicy soy garlic though, and if you like spicy flavors it's something you can't miss out on! However, one of the best parts of the experience was the service. It's really hard to find good places nowadays but they had no issue finding amazing and caring employees. Almost all of them came to check in and ask how they were doing. They didn't do it just to say they checked in, and the interaction was truly genuine. My heart goes out to one person in particular, Brandi. Brandi is hands down the best server I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. From start to finish she issued amazing service with no problems. She always stopped by and gave us personable experiences. Asking us if we found everything okay and talking to us more like friends rather than "customers". She's what we should strive for more as workers and her ethic was unmatched! Not coming here is a huge mistake. There was so much to offer, and nothing to lose! Just finished eating here! First of all exceptional customer service! She was so patient and considerate! Loved her, we kept talking about how great she was. The food was so satisfying and filling. The portions are pretty big and definitely for sharing. Spicy spicy spicy food! Very good very high quality food! The entrance to the restaurant was also very cute and the inside was so nice. I came here when they first opened and thought it was decent enough to recommend to friends. I came back today and recommend friends to stay away from here. My husband and I entered the restaurant and the older lady looked at us and completely ignored us. She did not even bother to wave the only other server down to let them know they have a customer. The place was not busy at all, but there was no service. I was ready to leave but I finally made eye contact with a server hiding in the corner who then realized there were customers and came rushing over with water and to take our order. I regret not walking out sooner. The food was bad and you can tell no love was put into making the food. The quality of the food does not justify the price of the food. We got the kimchi fried rice. It was bland and such a rip-off. The chicken was so dry it was like eating chicken jerky. The music is way too loud in this place and there are way too many flies flying around. I really wanted to love this place but the last two times have been a complete let down. We went to sit in the EMPTY patio and were told that we could sit anywhere. Sat down and a few minutes later an older woman server comes and demands we move to accommodate another party, meanwhile all other tables were empty. We moved but we were clearly upset/confused and asked why that happened and the younger man who was attending to us couldn't give us an answer. They brought out a couple of free dishes to try right the wrong but the whole thing was weird. Decided to try this place on a whim last night when the original place my friend and I wanted to eat was extremely busy upon our arrival. I'm really glad we ended up deciding on Chimak House after finding them on yelp! Very cute and quaint little place. Inside felt very home-y, we loved the wood and faux-bricks on the walls. Lots of TVs with k-pop videos playing. It didn't take us long to be seated, and the service was wonderful. The food, OH MY LORD. It was amazing! My friend and I ordered 20 wings, half soy garlic, half sweet & spicy. The soy garlic was one of the best crispy soy garlic wings I've ever had. Also came with literally just a handful of fries, which were delicious, but you really only get like 7 fries scattered about the plate, this didn't really matter to me as I really just wanted the wings. It was a nice little bonus. I am a huge onion ring enthusiast and Chimak's onion rings were so crispy, thicc, and a great portion, literally I think they are the best onion rings I've ever had. I also ordered the spicy rice cakes which is one of my favorite guilty pleasures, perfectly chewy and not too spicy, honestly can't really go wrong with them. Overall I highly recommend coming to Chimak House if you have a hankering for yummy indulgent food, I could see how it would be a great place to enjoy some beer while indulging in the nommies. The right thing to do would have been to comp the meal of the ONE PERSON YOU FAILED TO INPUT ORDER!!!! Woke up sick this morning and I am 100% positive it's from the food we ate there last night. Then to make the whole experience even worse is that there greenery filled lattice on the "patio'" is infested NO LIE with rats!! F*cking disgusting. We ordered a little bit of everything: spicy rice cakes (portion seemed way smaller for the price, it was mostly just sauce), corn cheese was delicious, fried chicken was also very tasty, and then diy spam rice balls (mixed it up ourselves but something in the mixture was bitter, not sure what it was). Yo! This place is my new hidden gem! I actually came to eat at Peking House across the parking lot but they were closed on Mondays. Wow I'm sure glad they were closed. Ended up finding this place and all I can say it was sooooo good. Love the small dive bar vibe in here. K-pop and K-hip hop on the speakers as you come in. The food was outstanding. I ordered the 4 piece chicken tender (they're big) in the Spicy Soy Garlic and Sweet and Spicy flavors. They're full of flavor and lots of chicken and not too much breading like at some places. The pickled radish added a nice refreshing crunch to the meals. We also had the DIY rice balls (spam version). Gotta try those. Great food Rice was soft and fluffy while entrees are excellent. I have had the spicy marinated chicken skillet, the Bulgogi beef skillet, and the wings. Both skillets come with rice and are extremely flavorful. They are pretty generous portions considered the rice will fill you up too. Enjoyed both and will definitely get again. The wings crust tasted like real batter. Very fresh and real chicken. I love the sides that come with it, makes it more fun than just a plate a wings. My favorite flavor was the soy garlic. The only reason it is not a 5 would be because one of the times I was there the service was not to my liking. This could have been just me or just that server because I have enjoyed all other times being there. That one time I just felt a little ignored but then again I would much rather have a server constantly checking up so to each their own! It was a small cute place connected to a sushi restaurant. Not sure if they changed owners or what happened... I came here the other day after they had been closed for like two weeks. The ambience was completely different. The owner is usually there and she's super welcoming and friendly. First thing I noticed was she wasn't there anymore. Second, server doesn't even know the menu well. Cooks aren't cooking the meals correctly. I ordered the spicy rice cakes, it usually comes with rice cakes, fish cakes, I didn't get any fish cakes. I spoke with the server and she mentioned it's in there, they clearly see me lifting it with no fish cakes in there. I asked for spicy soy garlic and I got regular soy garlic. I'm super disappointed because I also asked for 2x battered and I believe I got regular batter... I paid extra for that and did not get what I asked for... I was already fed up because everything was coming out wrong. Never again read more

Menu is different via QR code then most of the posted ones on Yelp. Pricing and a few different options including ramen but, the ramen is instant Shin ramen. Yes it's not bad packaged noodles but, it's $$7.99. - $12.99 for instant noodles. Maybe they add protein?! Descriptions are bad and unclear and do not state what to expect. Wings say they come with fries but, in recent pictures they show what looks like ranch sauce, cabbage salad, and what appears to be Korean marinated radish although it isn't listed on the menu. As I left I was told larger orders get that - well, there's no way to know if it's not on the menu and service is poor. The DIY rice balls say they come with gloves and to be made up by our hands but, I got a single glove. There is no possible way to roll balls with a single hand. 1 glove is a waste of time. It was even hard to just mix it up with a single hand. Ug. There is no sauces on the tables at all. I got the soy garlic wings are something sour like kimchi or gochujang would have made a great difference but, I was alone in the back room and had 1 wing left when the waiter came back by. My check never came. I waited in line to pay. Also on the menu under appetizers is "peaches - $9.99" and "lychee $9.99" both with no details. I asked what they were and the waiter said he thought I was talking about a drink , no, 2 different appetizers, and then he said its "probably" just the fruit. Probably? And, hot? Cold? Fresh? Frozen? With rice? It is actually a dessert? Ug Ug. Parking was easy by the back door but, when I left I realized that there are several homeless people in from of my car and I left alone. I've been here three times already and each time the food is still super yummy! I also spent my birthday here and they were even kind enough to let me put my cake inside their fridge so we can eat it after we ate our food. My fave is definitely the soy garlic chicken. I think I can eat a whole 10 piece just by myself because it's that good. I've also tried the sweet and spicy one and the lemon pepper and they're both also really good! The staff are always accommodating and very nice. The place is really cute and cozy, good for late night chats with your friends when feeling really hungry. This place never disappoints. Me and my coworker head over every weekend after work. The first time we went we got the tteokbokki, corn cheese, and soy garlic wings. We tried out the diy rice balls and lemon pepper wings the following week. We loved everything we ate. My friend who not used to Korean food especially loved the corn cheese and soy garlic wings. The owner's wife is also always a good vibe. It can get a little busy but it's worth the wait. We'll be coming back here every week to try everything on the menu as well as for the vibes. I'm so glad riverside finally has another Korean restaurant. I'm from LA so I feel like I'm back at home when at this place. read more
