I ordered the two-item lunch special. My items were Orange Chicken and BBQ pork. I went with half rice and half chow mien, It came with a drink and an egg roll. I was pleased with the food. Portions are definitely larger than Panda. I like that the pork is chopped in front of you. It was very good. Orange chicken is a favorite wherever I go. My egg roll had a crunch/ Some places they are soft from sitting out. My least favorite thing was the chow mien. Overall, I was pleased with my meal. I left with a happy tummy. read more

We waited 30 minutes and when I went to go ask about my order the Hispanic girl gave me the worst attitude and said well we're understaffed there's nothing I can do about it. Rude, will hurry you at the to go line. Inconsiderate of the dietary needs of other family members by treating us sourly because we had to change our order for a family member. Like it was an inconvenience. Some people have allergies and food sensitivities, please keep that in mind for future costumers. Unfortunately the Food was slimy and greasy. It's not very common to find a fast-food style chinese place with a drive-thru, which makes this Spot convenient. I've tried quite a few ítems here and everything has been really tasty. The dining área is always crean. I eapecially enjoy the orange chicken, brocolli beef , and their chow mein. Defintely a great and easy place to grab a satisfying meal and my thai tea. read more

I've been here once. I won't be back any time soon. The prices are great! Especially when you have kids. But similar to other the food does not last long. 5-10mins into your meal the quality diminishes and you start to realize that it's not worth the "saving" if you're eating gloop. This place is like buying a brand new car. Once you drive it off the lot you lose 15% of its value. The diminishing returns on Chin's kitchen is tremendous. I got a coupon in the mail for this place so I tried it because I'm a sucker for coupons and discounts. It's a classic hitw kind of Chinese restaurant with those heat lamps and oil hitting your skin as soon as you enter. Interestingly they also have a drive thru and they stack your food hard! I got orange chicken and teriyaki chicken with half and half fried rice and chow mein because that's what I picture for Chinese food as a baseline. Let me tell you the first bite was better than Panda Express and then the second bite was not. It plummeted hard. So yup haven't been back and won't ever go back. Man, oh man, I just finished having some chins along with my mom. We've had chins for approximately nine years, it's sad to see that the quality has gone down as well as the service. Today, not only my mother, but myself includedb it into this food that was as tough as rhino booty! What really bothered me was the fact that my mom wasn't able to enjoy it after paying $29. Guess I should update my review since it's been 11 years since my last and I eat here at least once a month. Chin's is solidly consistent with its offerings. The service is pretty good, the place is clean although getting a little worn down, especially the warped outside tables. Prices are going up, but that's everywhere. Food hasn't really changed, it's typical fast food served from big trays of food Chinese food. Nothing special, but it doesn't suck. I find it interesting they have a Mongolian-style cooktop, but I've never seen it being used. They continue to overstuff the containers to the max so you get plenty of food. The one major plus Chin's has over any other Chinese fast food place is their drive-thru, which I love! I probably use this more than going inside. read more

Hello Yelpers of Orange County, It's your ever vigilant foody lumberjack uncle here to spin you a tale: CHIN'S KITCHEN. First, I must clear the air - I am bias. This place is practically 2 thousand feet from my front door. My apartment's parking lot shares 2 walls with it* (see the bottom of the review for the rest of this story that is a non sequitur). So, aside from the proximity and experience of interpersonal loss (see bottom of the story) - One would want to take in the atmosphere, so Chin's is what one would call one of the quintessential "Hot Plate Chinese Fast-food" joints. Unlike many "hole in the walls" the place is a stand-alone structure with enough room for 8 tables sitting 2-4 each, and a few tables outside but it's not covered or sheltered from the rain or the sun out there. They usually have some music playing, usually 50s-90s mixed oldies with some modern stuff in there. The food on display is often colorful but appears dry in most cases**. They keep the place fairly clean and it smells like it should. **Let's get to the food: Chin's Kitchen as mentioned before has the traditional "Hot plantes, heat lamps" presentation. The standard spread is here: Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Steamed Rice, BBQ Pork, Broccoli Beef, Orange Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Kung Pow Chicken, Jalapeno Chicken, Mushroom Chicken, Egg Flour and hot and Sour soup and an assortment of other things like Pepper Shrimp, Hong Kong Wings, Spare Ribs (pork), and some made to order items like War Wanton Soup, Shrimp Fried Rice, Satay chicken. Here's the kicker on the food: There is nothing to "Write home about". The hotplate/lamp items are usually good if you get it on a "new" rotation. Though more often than not it will be dry and stringy. There is no real way to preserve the moisture of stuff that sits under a lamp for more than 15 minutes with the water heat conduction from beneath keeping it just below cooking temperature. If you were expecting a Pecking Duck or crispy Orange Chicken you will be disappointed. Much of the food is either made with an oyster sauce that is a little too sweet, a pepper sauce that is too heavy with spice, or doused in both and the meat itself is dry. When the rice is dry, the chow mein has undercooked cabbage, and the meat is stringy while needing a drink to chase everything down while also feeling the peanut oil as soon as the water hits your tongue you'll know the effort has been put in but not preserved. The BBQ pork when freshly made and cut is their best item, it's second only to the teriyaki chicken which is the most sold item but is usually dry due to the prasing. You want it at it's best? Get in at the lunch rush around 11:45 AM. Stick back and wait for the new stuff to come in. Yes, that means let people go AHEAD of you. Wait for the fresh stuff to get processed in and get in line and say "Oh, let me get the fresh stuff, please", and enjoy. If you are ok with it dry and just looking for some flavor and something to eat - it's a $15 3 item combo. If you want something made to order - that's always the freshest! Don't forget their catering orders you can also ask for "Freshly made", and they will leave the display food out and get your stuff started but the wait will be about 30+ minutes. The quality has dropped since COVID but this is standard across the board for everyone. Some of the best places in town went under: The Walnut Cafe, Green China, Poke To the Moon but Chin's is pulling up and course correcting. Problem is the price of the 3 item combo went from 12.99 to 15.99 in less than 5 years. A 3 dollar jump and more conservative (less) portions. They even got smaller containers over the past few years and it's just heartbreaking (for my stomach and wallet). The Service: I love the folks at Chin's. From the owner, his daughter, the ladies behind the counter, and the cooks - are all an awesome team. The only issue is many of the customers lack the common decency to acknowledge it. Chin's has been serving the community for over a decade that I've lived here and have been through good and bad times. Those at Chin's are good people and do their best. If you don't like something and you have not gobbled it down and return to replace it they'll usually honor that. If your food is unsatisfactory usually they'll remake it if it's to order. *My son chained his bike within viewing of said parking lot and folks jumped the wall and cut the chain, stole the bike, and the folks at Chin's while having CC Security footage of it - said they could not help us even with a police report to identify the thieves. My son learned a lesson that day and I never bought him a new bike, I left it up to him to do that. read more

The food was just bleh. Literally don't know how much more to describe it. Usually hole in wall Chinese spots are bomb but the orange chicken and bbq pork were extremely dry. The noodles lacked flavor. Overall it's cool that have a drive thru but never again. read more

I have been going to Chins Kitchen for 20 years in both locations. The new owners have cut the quality, quantity and raised the price. I could not recognize the protein in my Orange Chicken. It was stringy and chalky. I will not go back The restaurant and ambiance was good and the service was fine. read more

Just got this and i should have gone to Wendy's as I was initially was going to. Horrible fried rice is old rice no flavor no veggies. Orange chicken was gross dry, old and overcooked. Kung pao chicken well let's just say questionable way of cooking. The only decent ok edible thing was the chow mein and it was bad lol I cook for a living. I wouldn't serve this to my dog. You might potentially get sick from this place as everything was not hot or up to temp. read more

I've come across ridiculous meat to veggies ratio from other Chinese food spots and would hesitate getting meat with veggies, but this hits the damn mark. Dropped in here today because 2 places I normally go to were closed and a 3rd spot only took cash. While I prefer paying cash, I had none on me. I ordered a 2 Entree Meal... Mandarin Chicken Wings... BBQ Pork... Chow Mein... (Opted no rice) It came with a small soup Got the Hot and Sour... I added a large drink. In all, reasonably priced at just less than $12. Nice. The food was absolutely excellent... Fresh and very flavorful. The staff was friendly, informative and accommodating. I will be coming here often... I saw this place next to concentra so I decided to go try it out. I got the the three item combo with bbq pork, beef and broccoli and orange chicken. The orange chicken was dry and hard, bent a few forks. Beef and broccoli was over sauced and tasted like maybe its uncooked. Finally the bbq pork was over cooked to the point that the inside was black. The place was clean with plenty of of seating and the service was great. Definitely dont recommend this place. read more

I have never had Chinese food as flavorless and bland. I ordered BBQ Pork and Spicy Chicken. The pork was dried out and hard with no barbecue flavor at all, the teeny slivers of chicken had pieces of cartilage in it Top Ramen has more flavor than this chowmein. Bummer, I work close to this place and love the drive thru concept but would never come back, couldn't eat more than a few bites... it was that bad! .
