I just moved to the Lakeline area and was looking for a good Chinese place. I ordered takeout tonight, steamed dumpling, house spicy chicken and a side of hot chili oil. First, the guy who took my order was pretty short and not friendly. I asked for Fried Rice instead of white rice. Either they don't "up charge and replace" white rice, or he just charged me $3.00 for friend rice and didn't care. Sadly, it was $3.00 and I have a side of white rice I didn't want. The dumpling are definitely frozen and were microwaved. A steamed dumpling never has that rubbery feel unless it was microwaved. Gross. They included a lot of dipping sauce but it was soo watered down that it didn't even taste salty. It's clear they water down the sauce and make these in prepared batches. The house chicken also had no flavor. It was chicken, with water chestnuts and some squash. The side of hot oil was also tasteless, with little heat. I don't know how they did it! They even charged 50 cents for a side of hot oil. This was the first time I've even been charged for a side of hot chili oil. I noticed the also charge for packing supplies for your order. It seems like they nickel and dime, and don't focus on quality of their food. Soo many mixed reviews on here. I'd not recommend eating here. The $25 was steep for a below mediocre quality meal. read more

I decided to try this place since it's near my job, and the service was better than most asian cuisines. the food on the other hand was terrible, the beef lo mein I was served had a very strong taste of something that was coming off the meat. I wish i had words to describe that taste but it was not a good one. My go to for take-out. Good vegetarian options. Fast service, quality ingredients, not greasy. Ask for extra sweet and sour sauce if you order egg rolls or crab rangoon, etc. you won't want to drive back when they forget to include in the bag. read more

The hot and sour soup was very sour and nothing hot (temp or heat wise), even the mushroom's texture was weird. Honestly, I don't know how you can mess up chinese food. The sauce on my dish was liquefy, and flavorless. The hot and sour soup looked like it was watered down. I would save my money and skip this place. We had a craving for good Chinese take-out and this place nailed it! Everything was hot and fresh and our order was ready promptly. The person answering the phone was nice and answered my questions. We will definitely be back to try some of our go to dishes like Lo-Mein and Fried Rice but also try some new ones. We wanted something special so we ordered the "Seven Wonders" chef special and WOW, so good! The Chef's House Sauce was a "garlic-brown sauce" and it was not too sweet, nice garlic flavor and not spicy. So many fresh vegetable, thin sliced meats, delicious scallops and rich crab. It had 2 huge beef ribs and 7 crispy butterflied shrimp. Obviously for 2 people as the menu states. The name says it all (and it was only a $25 price tag). We'll be back for sure! read more

We ordered take out and our food was ready for pick up at the promised time of 10 minutes. Portions were a good amount. I really liked the calamari (with sliced jalapenos and shredded cabbage) which was still crispy when we got home! My husband loved his jalapeno chicken (not pictured). He got the dinner portion which gives you a larger amount but no soup or egg roll. I chose the beef with vegetables lunch special which comes with rice and egg roll. I like the hot & sour soup here and the egg roll has a thinner wrapper which I prefer. The beef was tender and came with snow peas, sliced water chestnuts, sliced mushrooms, baby corn and sliced zucchini - good but I added a bit of soy sauce and siracha. the price for the dinner entree was fair but a bit high for lunch special. I prefer the plastic containers with the clear lids for take out that allow one to see the contents and take up less room in the fridge over the styrofoam containers! Condiments were all included. We will definitely order the calamari and jalapeno chicken again and try other dishes. read more

I've been trying new local restaurants during the Covid quarantine (see past reviews left by me) in order to support small businesses during a time like this. I was craving fried rice for days and decided to check this place out based on Yelp reviews. I ordered take out, and much to more horror discovered a long hair in my fried rice, one bite in! The Gilmore Girls would love this place. They give you so much food! We've tried all the Chinese restaurants nearby on Grubhub (there aren't many) and have been fairly disappointed. Finally we broke free from the app and called this place for takeout. SO glad we did. The food is delicious. Wish we had more rice, because we were only give one thing of it, but the amount of entree is massive. We will be back! I recommend the sesame chicken, and hubby loves the general tsos. Followed this place from when they were over by the old Hobby lobby on 183. Good service and the food was always so fresh. Always liked that you get an egg roll and soup too when you go for lunch. Always had enough to take home for dinner (or open at my desk for a snack lol) Very friendly staff and they remember you which I like as well. Ambience - new store in the Lakeline Target shopping center. The interior is wonderfully lit due the natural lighting of the windows. The decor is your standard Asian art, paintings and literature. It is a long narrow restaurant with a tiny bar but actually sports quite a bit of seating. The tables also come with a fun Chinese Zodiac calendar for your reading pleasure. The overall vibe thou was very warm and welcoming with your standard decor Service - Big ole tip of the hat here. The service here was extremely friendly, welcoming and genuine. Everyone had a smile on their face and just seemed to be in a great mood. Everyone i had an interaction with were just wonderful. My server who goes by Daniel (LoL ok, yeah i kinda doubt that) was very pleasant and attentive. He made sure i had everything i needed and carried himself well. I also observed other servers and employees and they all gave the same warmth and attention. I even watched one lady help and open the door for a disabled guest. Overall thou the service here was above and beyond than what one might expect Menu - Came in during lunch so i was only given a lunch menu. Pretty standard for a lot of places to only have the mainstream and simple dishes for lunch. The lunch menu had about 40 entrees but most of them were just the same entree but with a different protein. They of course had all the main staples of Kon Pao, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Protein and Broccoli and so on. The menu didnt have much on the different/unique side but stuck to the American cult classics that all white people love. Several of the dishes did indicate being spicy dishes as well. Love me some spicy food. Since being a lunch menu it follows suite with all other Chinese food places and all entrees come with a soup and eggroll. But overall the menu (in my opinion) was just alright. Not really much of a selection and most were just generic dishes. I get that that is a main seller and main entrees but i like seeing signature or unique dishes as well as the main staples. Otherwise it is just another run of the mill Chinese food joint with nothing to separate itself from the rest. Granted this was just the lunch menu. So maybe the dinner menu has more bells, whistles and flare. But i dont know. Food - Looking over the ever generic menu i tried looking for something that i havent seen or tried. Or maybe even a special dish. After reviewing the menu multiple times i did see a dish that said House Special. Which peaked my interest as it would seem that it was a special or signature dish. So i order the Spicy House Beef with wonton soup. The wonton soup was very surprising as it actually packed quite a bit of flavor. A lot of places it is just watered down soy broth or something of the sort. But this actually was very flavorful and tasty. Mine came with a dumpling or gyoza instead because they ran out of wontons. Thats fine by me. The soup was very good. I then get my entree with fried rice. The rice was pretty lackluster and somewhat dry. The entree was beef cooked with a standard melody of carrots, celery, water chestnuts and so on. The dish did come out looking good with plenty of sauce and no dry areas. The beef was cooked very well while it was till tender and juicy. The veggies were also cooked well as they still had some crunch and not soggy. The sauce thou that glued this whole dish together was very interesting and kind of a let down. First off it was item noted as spicy. It wasnt spicy at all. The only "spicy" part about it wasnt from the mouth burn but instead a slight sweating or heat in the top of the skull. So that was disappointing as i love spicy food. The sauce was also just a generic brown sauce. While it had an ok flavor it was just hard to enjoy because it was extremely salty. I dont mind a mild generic brown sauce but if it is a House Special then i would expect it to be more than just average. But the main issue was that while trying to eat my meal all i could taste was how salty it was. Maybe during making the sauce they added to much soy or something (or maybe the sauce was just soy sauce) but it completely overpowered the entire meal. The only way i finished almost all of it was by having several cool refreshing glasses of Gods great goodness that we call Dr. Pepper. But near the end i just couldnt finish my meal. Overall - The ambience and customer service here is wonderful and awesome. However, for me, the food is just another average Chinese food restaurant. I kinda enjoyed my meal but since it was just a regular brown sauce that was overly salty, i couldnt really savor it. Maybe im looking to much into it but if you have a House item i would expect it to be a claim to fame. The portion sizes thou were decent and the price point was very reasonable with all entrees being between like $7-$9. But yeah, if you need a Chinese food fix then this place can do it. read more

What an experience. I cannot gas this establishment up enough! Where to begin... The atmosphere is gorgeous, casual, yet sophisticated. Ambient low-lighting, comfortable seating, and lovely music fills this restaurant up. But hey, let's get to the best part: THE FOOD. Hot out of the kitchen every time served by our sweet & attentive waiter (I wish I caught his name! If the owners see this, he had dark hair & served us around 5PM on 5/29) with scratch-made sauces, fillings, you name it! There was certainly a lot of love that went into crafting every part of our meal which differs from a lot of lack-luster preparation from other Chinese cuisine in the area. We had Egg Drop Soup that was fresh, flavorful, and savory. Beautiful Crab Rangoons that were crafted differently then I've had them before, but impressed me with well-balanced flavor. Not too sour like others I've had just creamy, crabby deliciousness. The frying was delicate, crispy, and masterful - a real treat! But our entrees were the stars :) We had General Tso's (a classic to gauge the perspective of the chef) & Mongolian Lamb which was a shocking wild card to find on the menu, but it exceeded all expectations. The lamb was tender, succulent, and fresh. The chicken in the General Tso's was all white meat and the sauce was perfectly balanced. Portions were perfect and big enough to share. We will definitely be regulars, and cannot wait to come back and try the whole menu. A feat I cannot say I'd undergo for many other Chinese restaurants in the surrounding Austin area. Some appetizers we got were just ok. Our eggroll was just a veggie one and really had no flavor of any kind. The potstickers were a bit better. The husband's shared a calamari dish, and they said it was just ok. Next, we ordered the special wonton, what we were expecting and what we got was two different things. The soup was really thick and brown with veggies and wontons. It basically was oversalty and had one taste, and that was of a brown teriyaki flavor, too thick to be called a soup. I ordered beef with veggies, hubby had the combination pan-fried noodles, and one person had sesame chicken, which tasted like it had been sautéed in mustard before adding the honey and sesame seeds. Been here twice with my boyfriend and they are always on point! The food is very excellent! The first time I went had 3 Cup Chicken special / Wonton Soup and my bf had Kung Pao Chicken. This time around we shared the Special Wonton Soup for two and I had the Mongolian Beef, and my bf had the Twice Cooked Pork. The dishes are very well seasoned and full of flavor. This certainly has been the best Chinese food restaurant that I've been to, in the 10+ years I've lived in Austin. I am happy to have found this place close to where I live. The wonton soup is LITERALLY the best I've ever had; I hate the word "literally," so my usage of it should tell you how serious I am. I had the sesame shrimp, and everything about it was incredible. Rude rude girl answering the phone supposedly "took my order", when I showed up, I was told no one placed it and rudely asked to show them the number I called. After I showed them in my phone, she yelled that no one placed it but she'll take order now. In times like this, people should be even more nice or the just bare minimum. Ordered a large Christmas spread, drove 45 minutes both ways. Got home - monoglolian beef was sour and tasted like raw fish. Called to make them aware and we were told there was nothing that could be done. The woman "manager" who answered was rude and offered no solutions.
