I have eaten here when I was attending Diablo Valley College. I have to say that eating here was good. I had lunch and dinner at this location and I have to say the proportion of my food was great. I enjoy eating lunch here. I always gotten the lunch special, Broccoli Beef. I love how my food turn out. The inside of this location is nice and quiet. It can be busy during lunch. Parking is very easy to find at this restaurant. Thankfully I did not have to struggle to find parking at both side of the restaurant. I will come back to this restaurant read more

Here's my pros and cons about this place: Pros: 1. Nothing I can think of, it's just nothing, maybe the prices are good on your wallet or purse. Cons: 1. The place is dark and dingy, it doesn't feel welcoming. 2. The food is just aweful, the tastes are off, like it's old, the soup was off, like they had left overs froma a few days and just add water and white pepper. The fried rice was just terrible, when Panada's fried rice taste better, then you have serious problem. 3. The workers or owner are fighting with someone about using the bathroom, then they are fighting with another business owner next door. The dude wearing the cooking apron walks outside to fight with someo other business cutsomers. This is just stupid. I was working in the area and noticed this establishment had a decent rating on yelp and figured id see for myself.. I was taking a 20 minute break and called ahead so that my lunch serving of pork fried rice would be ready when I needed it to be. I actually got there a few minutes early and the food came out as I was paying. The staff was super friendly and started some decent small talk that I actually appreciated. The food was hot and I couldn't wait to burn the roof of my mouth eating what I could in my limited break time lol. The first thing I noticed was the freshness and I was very impressed. I added the complimentary soy sauce and a bit of salt that I carry in my work truck and I almost lost track of time. No time for work when there's a plentiful sized plate that tastes this good. Reasonably priced and it's more of a family style ordering system. I would've loved to have had a combination plate but it's their business to run it how they choose. The soup though a lot of the wontons were dough only(a rip-off) the soup came in two(2) containers and there were probably 2 shrimp in each container, for 35 bucks no less! Don't think I'll be going back....nothing feels worse than getting taken advantage of. I dont usually write reviews but I'm genuinely concerned for the health of the customers and offended that a restaurant would serve food THIS bad. The potstickers meat tasted so funky, I ate half of it and spit the rest out. Way too salty and probably not the best quality of meat. The wonton soup had almost no meat in the wonton and the crab Rangoon/puffs tasted so weird. Again, I had a bite and had to spit it out because I was afraid i was going to get sick. I ordered on a Sunday through Door Dash. The order took longer than originally expected but it was well worth the wait. I ordered the Gourmet Dinner A for 2. We had Wonton soup,crab puffs, spring rolls, pot stickers, sweet and sour pork, cashew nut chicken, and fried rice. The flavor was great and the portions were large. First time order with China Chef because they had a 20% discount on Door Dash and had my beloved sesame balls on their menu. I ordered sesame balls and mu shu veggie, which are normally my go-tos when I want Chinese food. The sesame balls could have used more filling just like their counterpart at Peony Garden. However, they seemed to taste better cold after putting them in my fridge. Sadly, I got sick after eating the mu shu. Although I've ordered it from various Chinese restaurants over the years with no problems, I think they might not have cooked some of the vegetables thoroughly as one of the green onions still tasted raw. Alternatively, the dish might have been super oily or had MSG. With two Chinese restaurants I like (Peony Garden & Yan's) and many others nearby coupled with my nausea from this restaurant, I won't order from China Chef again. read more

I ordered based on the number of Stars and comments from customers. The Mongolian beef was Dripping in Sesame oil which in turn dripped all over the chicken chow fun boxes. The chow fun noodles tasted like, "sesame oil" its as if the sesame oil was the seasoning for everything. Other than "Sesame oil" nothing had any flavor and the noodles were over cooked. The only edible item was the pork fried rice, however, the rice was seasoned with Five Spice which was really strange. I would love to have healthy chinese foos that is not dripping in grease.
