My wife and I ate here last week and enjoyed it. The service was very friendly. I ordered the combination plate with Mongolian Beef and Crab Rangoon, I also got the Hot & Sour soup, I enjoyed all of it. Food was okay. Ladies were very nice. My 2 biggest complaints are that 1, my wife found 2 strands of hair in her veggie chow mein, rather then not charging us for it or even giving us a discount we had to pay full price. She was very nice though and even came back to apologize.2, Now I know that not every restaurant will be 100% clean but there was a crazy amount of dust and Cobb webs around the restaurant and above the booths. I went to China Harbor last night for the first time and have conflicted feelings. The service was not good. We went inside to place a to go order, and we had to wait about 10 minutes to place our order because the hostess let the two people who got there after us pick up their orders before taking our orders. After we ordered we waited about 20 minutes for our food, which isn't a bad wait time. Most of the food was pretty good, the fried calamari was the best I've ever had. But I got almond chicken on a whim (there's no descriptions for their food on their menu) it turned out to be breaded fried chicken breast with a side of what tasted like chicken gravy. There were some toasted almonds in my fried rice. From now on I'll be ordering over the phone, and only for a few things. read more

Herd the reviews were pretty good so we gave it a try last night. Wife's Fro was ample with eight shrimp and lots of rice noodles. nothing else to speak of in the bowl. Tasted pretty good. My combination plate looked like it was scooped off of a hot line on a to small plate. Three butterfly shrimp were a little over cooked. Noodles were ok. Pork fried rice was fairly good as well. Pork covered with gravy or limp fried covering was so so. I was definitely full especially helping my wife finish her Fro. Basically presentation was lacking and way too much loud jabber in the background to my liking. Jenny was attentive and always kept checking in on us. read more

At 8:50 I called to inquire in the possibility to place a to go order so close to 9, which is when they close. Lots of places would not take the order. I know another Chinese restaurant that would have said no for certain. Many would sound begrudging and annoyed. I'm sure they all wanted to go home. But, this lady was warm and welcoming and only asked if we could come now as they closed at 9. YES! I haven't eaten at China Harbor in quite some time. I'm so glad I took a chance and just asked. The food is hot and very good. Everything seems very home made and real, ingredient wise. Portions are substantial. And the customer service was a refreshing change. Do not eat Pho here. The pho is very salty and overpriced. If you want to eat Pho go to a Vietnamese restaurant off the island.

Loved loved loooved it! The last time we ordered from here was probably before china city opened up. But on a whim of wanting pan sit I took a chance and ordered. Boy was I surprised! They have really stepped up the taste and look of their food, it was absolutely amazing, and cheaper than china city. I havent had pan sit this good since i left virginia. Showed up. 30-35 mins later a young waitress finally asked what i wanted to drink. I ordered a jolly rancher (alcoholic drink). She said ok, but she wasn't allowed to bring it to me. They had one person allowed to make drinks. 47 mins later i finally got my drink. Btw which tasted like cran-vodka. 1.5hrs later. They asked us what we wanted to eat, we all ordered (5 of us). 2 hrs later we got our food. The food tasted like a heated up frozen food selection from the grocery store. read more

Had been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant and this one seemed to look the part. The place look quaint, the hostess was really nice and courteous. Placed an order to go. The curry chicken was supposed to be a red, 3 flame spicy; it was not spicy at all and was yellow curry. The chicken was not seasoned. It tasted boiled and like it was tossed into the finished dish. Same thing for the chicken fried rice. The rice was not cooked properly; it had portions that were still white. The pepper steak had very little meat. In the order there was supposed to be hot and sour soup which was missing. Lastly, the chow mein tasted like ramen. The jasmin rice and orange chicken were the two items I would consider to be good in relation to the rest of the food. I would go to this place again absent of any other restaurant nearby, but would consider going off island first. read more

Best Chinese takeout on the island. Seriously the nine flavored beef is to die for. And getting to choose your spice level is a neat concept. Their delivery service is so speedy. And the food is always piping hot when it arrive at your door. The only reason I took off a star is because their sides of rice are outrageously overpriced and not communicated well. I thought we were ordering a scoop of rice to come along side our meal, they thought I meant a whole side, which adds an extra $10 to your order. Sadly that's not an isolated incident and happens frequently. Maybe lower the rice price, or be more clear over the phone. read more

I love their Pho, especially since they make their own materials for their Pho. I also ardered a Honey Walnut Prawns, which includes honey glazed walnuts with mayo and fried prawns. The food was horrible and cold. Abd the service was just as bad we just left there and I almost asked for a complete refund. They weren't rude or anything but our server only came by our table once the whole setting. And it was the first time we ever been to a buffet were the sushi doesn't come with it. Always stop here for lunch on our drives from Seattle. They have the best Almond Chicken by far. The restaurant is immaculately clean (excluding the creepy bathroom). I'm not certain where to start on my review. My family just moved to Oak Harbor a little over a month ago on military orders. We were staying in the Navy Lodge. We were exhausted from traveling and didn't want to drive anywhere, so we decided to try to order online. Found China Harbor and gave them a call to see if they could deliver on base...they said yes. The young girl who answered the phone must have been new because I felt like I knew the menu better than she did. We placed our order over the phone and were told it would be 40 minutes. We were only 2.3 miles away from the restaurant. Close to 2 hours later the food finally arrived. One meal was spilling out into the delivery bag. We were starving and annoyed at this point. Then we are handed the bill. The bill was over $100 for 3 people! Thats not the total I calculated when I placed the order. I made a phone call to the restaurant while the delivery driver waited. Spoke with the young girl who took our original order, then a 2nd woman. Itemized the bill with 2nd woman on the phone. Was informed they charge for white rice and Chinese hot mustard! They charged several dollars more for each item that we ordered! After several minutes of discussing the prices we were charged compared to the prices online, the owner came on the phone. After several minutes with him, he finally says he will reduce the bill to $50. I agreed but I still was not happy. Took the food to our room. The food was cold. My daughters General Taos chicken was disgusting. I ordered the Singapore chicken rice noodles...not good either. My husband had some type of shrimp and scallop dinner, he said his was ok. Wonton soup had good flavor but it was so cold I couldn't really enjoy it. I do not recommend this place and we will never return! read more

Food is okay at best. The service is appalling. The lady who runs the place is very rude. When they are slow she is slow, when they are busy she runs around and doesn't care about the quality of service. She wouldn't tell me how much my pickup order was, she just kept replying "we too busy." Food is a 2 or a 3 star and I would give zero for her attitude towards her customers. Very good food. I am really picky when it comes to Chinese. While on vacation we tried this place and it was great. Food was great and service was great. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star was the amount of food. I sent back one of my drinks because it tasted like mold and aluminum. I asked for a beer instead. We had to ask a few times for the beer and once we received it was warm pulled right out of the box. So I am revising my review because this place has really improved. The food is great, the prices are reasonable and they are the only Asian restaurant in town that delivers on base. I have to say my favorite dish is the Almond fried chicken. The chicken is perfectly cooked, crisp and not at all soggy. The almond gravy is succulent and smooth and marries well with anything it touches. The bacon basil fried rice was a big hit with my husband and I and we will likely only get that from now on when we order rice. read more

Never again. I ordered almond chicken and white rice, with bbq pork. The pork was cold, like out of the fridge cold. I was not given white rice, she brought fried rice, so I tried it. No, just no. It was old, tasted rancid, I just couldn't eat it. The gravy on the almond chicken was cold, and grainy and the breading on the chicken was soggy. I pushed my plate aside and the waitress asked if I wanted a box. I told her no, that the food was disgusting, and I just wanted her to take it away. My daughter ordered crab rangoon and sweet and sour pork. There was no crab in the rangoon. None. So let's just call it cream cheese rangoon... She ate two bites of her pork, and pushed it away the waitress again offered a box, and my daughter declined and said it was gross. Her rice was old, dried up. The waitress took the plate and did not bring the manager, she brought me a $28 bill. I paid it and waited for the owner to come out. When she asked how the meal was, I told her, and I let her know that we would never return. The food had to have been sitting on a steam table for hours. She did not offer to return my money, but did offer more food, I declined. read more
