I've tried many Chinese food places in Vegas, but this one stands out. My new go to place for Chinese. Very tasty!

The food was extremely disgusting..I ordered the bourbon chicken, orange chicken, beef and broccoli..ALL of it was flavorless....my Mom got food poisoning..and The fortune cookies they put in the bag tasted like someone spray pesticide on it...I immediately spit it out when it touched my tongue...0 stars...shut this place down.... read more

Needed to find a quick bite for lunch. Wandered into the parking lot and saw their storefront. Lunch combos were under $10 and even came with some corn egg drop soup. I had the fish filets with black bean sauce, served with chow mein and fried rice. The chow mein noodles were very soft, I prefer my noodles crunchy. China Hot Wok is a casual American/Chinese Restaurant located in the North/West part of Las Vegas. It's not a fancy place. You order and pay at the counter and either take out or seat yourself. We ordered an appetizer and two dinners. One dinner came out first with the rice and fortune cookies. The other dinner came out in about five minutes. The appetizer came out about five minutes latter. We.tried the paper wrapped chicken appetizer. Here the chicken was slightly over cooked and over seasoned. We didn't care for it but maybe other people like it that way? I tried the spicy garlic Szechuan Chicken. I received a generously sized plate of food with tender chicken and lots of vegetables but it was in a very sweet flat sauce. I guess it is Nevada Style American/Chinese because many American/Chinese restaurants make this dish in a similar way. If you are from the east coast you will miss the hunan or oyster sauce taste and that splash of sherry. The hunan beef here is the crispy style. Here the beef is very chewy with a floury aftertaste. Another near by American/Chinese restaurant makes hunan beef crispy too but the beef melts in your mouth. Depends on your perceptive on how you feel about the dishes. 2.5 stars rounded up. read more

O.M.G! Can I just say, YELP is the real deal! I read the reviews on China Hot Wok and they did not disappoint whatsoever! I ordered the Spring Rolls, the Bourbon Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Now, if you like spice, I would say the Mongolian Beef would be a "go to" dish for you! I love love love Bourbon chicken and I requested extra sauce and they did not let me down! The service was amazing! The food was fresh and hot even though it was delivered with Uber Eats! I must give credit to the driver for Uber Eats because he had a good warmer in his car so my foot was hot as if it came straight from the kitchen! Thank you! Restaurant was perfect. However, about 2-3 months ago, either place was sold or under new management. Floor and tables are dirty, staff is so unprofessional, food is not as good AND soda has been diluted. Was a weekly luncheon treat. Stopped going for a month. We tried a different spot for Chinese food but honestly just tasted like all the other places in town like China a go go etc... only good thing about this place is the portions are huge! Nothing really amazing to say or bad it's Chinese food that definitely better than American Panda Express. Once upon a time, I would recommended this establishment. I visited four days, I saw a man preparing food and he hand no gloves touching all of the food with his bare hands. No spoons, no forks, no spatula. Zip. I did not make a fuss because I have seen the employees make their own food, which is what I assumed was going on. Several minutes later, my food comes out and I head out. I don't really wait to see what is going on because I was on lunch. My food was laced in heavy seasoning and when I was close to finishing, I realized someone gave me a used plate with old fork traces and seasoning stains of food I did not have my plates. I was instantly disgusted to seed the food but didn't go no further. Two days later, I am sick and feverish. Throat is torn up. I will never come here again but I just have to warn people. Just moved to Summerlin, I left my favorite spot in Henderson. Very picky with Chinese food, so I skeptical. Reviews looked good, decided to try them. I ordered through yelp, $4 delivery charge. Yelp never updated me on when they were arriving, they just showed up. I asked for contactless delivery, he kept ringing the door bell. Stood there, even though I said leave food by door. I don't like answering doors to strangers delivery or not. I was like whatever, he was very nice and said "happy new years" Food smelt amazing as I was walking upstairs, it wasn't spilt all over the bag by leaking like the last place. I opened it, the veggies were all on top so I had dig for the meat. But I must say, very delicious! Both the Mongolian Beef & egg rolls. The beef had a spice to it, but not over bearing. Second time months later must have been same driver couldn't find apt again nor follow directions to apt. When arriving hour later. Driver tells me that I need to order for pick up next time. Food was a little bland and extremely dry!!!!! There wasn't a drop of that lovely brown sauce that soaks into the rice on the beef and broccoli. The shrimp with snow peas had no sauce or liquid at all, the shrimp were overcooked, and it was a little bland. A little salt works wonders. But I guess that's what the soy sauce is for. We couldn't have it for leftovers the next day because the rice was so dry it could have been used as ammunition!!! Even after the trick of heating it with a wet paper towel on top. Visiting China Hot Wok about every other week, I have become disappointed... Maybe there is a new crew or a new management but it is not the same as it has been in the past. My wife enjoys the war wonton soup and we always ask for extra vegetables, but for the last two or three visits the extra vegetables, which I've paid for, are not in the soup. As well, the won tons in the soup are not fresh... The meat inside the wrappers is hard, even being in the soup. Hope changes will come about and the quality of your restaurant returns ... these little observations are just evidence of lack of pride in your product ... please don't let me down read more

Wow!! A great Chinese food restaurant in Northwest Las Vegas! China Hot Wok is located on the 95/Craig, in a small private shopping plaza with spacious parking. My daughter and I had stopped by China Hot Wok after going to Gravady for dinner on a Sunday night. It was rainy and the restaurant wasn't too busy. We entered the restaurant and was greeted with a friendly hello from all of the team members. The entire menu is located on the restaurant wall. There are also paper menus at the front register to take a look at. My daughter and I ordered the following [1] Chicken Chow Mein [1] Sesame Chicken The Sesame Chicken came with a side of white rice as well. The cashier provided us [2] full cups of water as we opted out of a fountain drink. He also brought us utensils, paper plates and towels. After about 5 minutes, the food had arrived at our table. The portion size was quite generous! We had enough food to last us another [3] meals for the next day! The team at China Hot Wok also gave us some egg rolls too! The food was super yummy! The Sesame Chicken was great, not too much sauce, and there was plenty of chicken meat too! The Chicken Chow Mein noodle's were soft and cooked appropriately. There was a good amount of chicken in the Chow Mein! None of the chicken was under-cooked! China Hot Wok price was pretty competitive. For our entire meal and tip including, it came out to be $20.00. I may have found a go to for beef chow fun and minced chicken lettuce wraps. I'm from California and have been having an extremely hard time finding good Chinese food. It's a hit or miss (mostly miss) market out here for tasty Chinese. I took a chance and ordered delivery tonight from China Hot Wok and was pleasantly surprised. The arrived nice and hot and the minced chicken lettuce wraps were really good. Clean, cool, crisp whole lettuce leaves with diced chicken (I had mine without the sauce that came on the side) hit the spot for a semi-late night dinner. There was a generous portion of beef chow fun that was delicious as well and perfect for tomorrows lunch/dinner. Plus they had chili oil! No one seems to have chili oil out here except this place! lol I'll definitely be ordering again and highly recommend this meal from here! read more
