Chicken Chow Mein or Cabbage Soup? We were disappointed with the Cabbage Soup we ordered - wait a minute - it was four containers of chicken and shrimp Chow Mein that could easily pass for cabbage soup! YUK. Heavy on cheap cabbage and devoid of any noodles, this went uneaten for our large party. We did inform the restaurant -- they offered NO remedy except for a credit? Yes, a credit for additional cabbage soup! We would have been happy with a refund for the cabbage soup -- masquerading as chow mein --- but to no avail. We were not asking for a refund for the other food that was edible. Overall, the food was mediocre, heavily reliant on soy and salt for flavor. Our total order was over $140 dollars - super disappointed in the food and post-order service experience. read more

Open on Christmas! My brother and I picked up carry out from this south Holland location. This location is express so it is carry out only, so plan on calling ahead. We ordered egg drop soup to share and two lunch orders: chicken and shrimp szecuan and sesame chicken. The food was ready and hot when we arrived on time to pick it up. The service was friendly, the price was good as were the portions. Overall it was good American-Chinese, not the best you will find, but enjoyable. The sesame chicken was better than average. new owners. says same great menu and food as previous owners food we where told bye new owners. we gave it a try and ordered same items as before as we used to. meat dried out chicken rice which was so old it was crunchy and hard. suppose get beef gravy with our pepper steam, ours was watered down and tasteless beef broth at beast. was not happy with our order tonight, was very greasy and everything taste like fish and my guess the taste is from a fryer not being cleaned regular. Food always fast and ready because they cutting corners and the flavor shows it. peas in the shrimp fried rice were hard as if they were never cooked, and the shrimp taste like fish. Fried rice was dark in color and the egg rolls were a pile of mushy grease and shared the same brown color as the fried rice. We ate here for years, grew up here and ate here when i was a kid. you just lost a customer of over 20 years. Good luck to your future read more

I love this place. It isn't the best Chinese food I've ever eaten, but it's up there near the top. I've enjoyed everything I've tried on the menu (which is several dishes over the years) and have never had a disappointing one yet. For me the highlight of each visit is to get an order of fried pot stickers. The dipping sauce that comes with them is what really makes them so great. Stop in and check this place out and I'm sure you'll agree it's good food at a reasonable price. If you walk in off the street and order you'll probably have a wait of around 6 or 7 minutes while they prepare your food (obviously longer if it's during a busy time) so you may want to call ahead and place your order if you're in a hurry. If you are ordering the fried pot stickers those take about 20 minutes to make so unless you're a very patient person you'll want to call that order in before leaving home. The fried pot stickers are worth the wait even if you don't think to call ahead. I like this place so much I have their phone number in my cell phone address book so if I'm out and about and get a craving I can order while away from home. They do have a few tables where you can dine in, but generally speaking it is a carryout location. If you do choose to eat there the interior is clean and well litl If it's winter you'll want a table as far away from the door as possible so you're not getting hit with cold gusts of wind every time a carry out customer enters or leaves. read more

I haven't eaten anything but the Mongolian beef, fried rice, crab rangoons, and pu pu platter in years so this review is for that. The Mongolian beef is my favorite Chinese meal in the world. It's sweet and now spicy, and since I've moved away, first to Chicago and now to California, every time I come home I MUST stop by and order the Mongolian beef lunch special! The fried rice is delish and so are the crab rangoons. The egg drop doesn't have all that fancy crap like tofu, corn, etc and thats how I like it! Call me a purist. Love this place! read more

We used to get take out here all the time and loved it. Tonight we went and something has changed for the worse. My beef had a strange consistency and I don't think it was prepared with the meal in the wok. It did not have any of the sauce on it. My husband said his Didn't taste the same either and the veggies were raw. I think we won't go back anymore. :-( read more

Walked in and was handed menus by employee - looked - ordered from menu - was over charged for EACH and EVERY item! When asked about it - employee said their prices had gone up. It appears that China Inn is trying to cut back on costs. They did not give chow mein noodles with the hot & sour soup. There was only one container of rice for 2 dinners. The little beef that they put in the Mongolian beef entree was too tough to eat. The chicken in the General's chicken entree was over cooked and the sauce was far from "hot & spicy". Ordered for the first time from this location for delivery. It took over an hour to get delivered, and when it arrived there was not any sweet and sour sauce included for the Shrimp or Crab Rangoon. The shrimp and rangoon were both cold by the time they got here and the Sesame chicken was not the greatest temp either. Not overly impressed and probably won't order again. read more

Went ( because of the reviews on yelp) with wife, ate in, she ordered almond chicken with crab ragoon, I, moo-goo-gai-pan w/egg roll. Crab ragoon? Cold! Tasteless! Looking at her almond chicken, you could see it, and tasted like it was cooked before hand (a day or more ahead of time), also the chicken was light gray color, no flavor, except for the old taste, did not finish her meal left more then half. As for my moo-goo? Tasteless! Gravey was tasteless!!! Did not finish! Egg roll? Could tell it was reheated, meat inside and what I think was cabbage, tasted bad, or spoiled, One bite, left the rest. Fried rice? No flavor, tasted just like regular brown rice, blah, no bits of egg, onions, or anything. Would like to give zero stars, yelp will not let me. Would I go back? You be the judge. read more
