Not too bad. Prices are good. Dishes are pretty basic, nothing fancy and nothing I would go out of my way for, but as a quick lunch, it's not too bad. Stay away from the House Special soup. It's one of the most bland and tasteless things I've had there. read more

Did not know this place did Thai food as well until I got a take out menu from a friend. I tried the basil fried rice with chicken and it was VERY flavorful with just the slight burn on the tongue. I'll be back for more of this an to try other items. read more

went there tonight for my daughter's birthday. Total disappointment. Her bourbon chicken was sent back because it did not taste good at all, son-in-law had the "boneless bbq ribs", which wasn't even rib meat at all and I ordered the fried fish which took forever to come out. Personally, I think it may have been talipia (which isn't even real fish). It took so long I just tossed it in a to-go plate. Figured I would just eat when I got home since we live close by, it was horrible. Even the dogs wouldn't touch it and the cat walked away! NEVER again! read more

Place is decent. Definitely not amazing but not bad. I'm comparing this place to NYC Chinatown places however. Prices aren't that cheap and the portions I thought Would be larger (dinner entree menu; no idea what the lunch is like) Ordered Mongolian beef, chicken in garlic sauce, and lo mein. Mongolian beef is blah. Not worth it. Chicken in garlic sauce is pretty good. Lo mein was also good, but there wasn't enough noodles!! Needed more shrimp too. Service was fast and friendly. So far this is the best Chinese Food in Chalmette, this was our first time here, the Lady that greet us as we arrived was very courteous she explain the different items on the menu, the prices was not bad the food is delicious will definitely come back !!!!! read more

Went in there on Saturday, the service was so horrible! My waitress, I believe her name was Danielle, had a very foul smell that made it unpleasent to eat. Me and my wife at this point were disgusted. Then she took forever to give us refills and wouldnt stop talking to another table. We will not be back and I will tell everyone to not go there. !!!!! read more

Food was good for chalmette. Customer service was great. I had the sweet and sour chicken lunch. I would eat it again. The bathrooms were really clean. Update I went back food was still the same, but I was super grossed out because a lady at a neighboring table was dipping her egg roll right into the duck sauce that's on the table for all the customers. Double dipping too! I'm hoping those get changed out often. I don't see myself feeling comfortable with eating that now. read more

AIR QUALITY AND FOOD AFTERTASTE AFTERMATH NIGHTMARE: Where is Chef Robert Irvine or Gordon Ramsey when you need them? Because this restaurant is in serious need of a complete makeover. My food and dine-in experience was horrible. The air quality in this restaurant is terrible, it was extremely stuffy and "oh my gosh" it wreaked of burnt wok oils, it smelled like an extreme disgusting mixture of burnt garlic oil, burnt ginger oil, and/or burnt sesame oil, either way it was horrid and permeated throughout the entire restaurant and saturated into my attire. As if this wasn't bad enough they had 2 air filters mounted on the dining room wall but neither working. I received my egg drop soup and I couldn't believe it but it actually had a weird horrible aftertaste, also it was a weird orange color like it had curry in it, needless to say it was terrible! So I then received my boneless fried chicken entree and again "oh my gosh" it was so strong with this same disgusting taste of the burnt wok oils that I couldn't eat it! I'm going to recommend that they immediately get this restaurant professionally deep cleaned, get the ventilation systems restored and working and do some deep cleaning on those woks!!! I can only imagine the woks must have years of caked on oils grease and grime from not being cleaned. Furthermore the server didn't know the menu, she had never tasted anything on the menu and could not give any popular entree recommendations. Poor to no training. Food and Air quality so poor had to leave as soon as possible... was starting to have a hard time breathing. Other issues: Restaurant lighting was way too bright. A very uncomfortable environment. Dirty stained seat cushions on the chairs were flat, broken-in with no support and very uncomfortable. Restaurant was dingy, dated, lacked luster (boring) not charming or exciting in any manner. At least not in any manner that you'd expect of a comfortable casual to mid level fine quality dine-in Chinese restaurant. Besides the poor smelly rancid air quality, the restaurant was hot and muggy temperature wise. Restaurants like this make our St. Bernard Parish non-inviting. This sucks because we need good commerce to help bring people back to the parish. Some words of wisdom: Skip this restaurant if you're craving Chinese food. Frozen microwave Chinese food from your local grocery store would have been a 100% improvement from this food. I even still have the horrible taste of burnt wok oil in my mouth while writing this review! NOT GOOD!!!!!!! In conclusion I had a bad experience and will not be returning. Too expensive for what it is: mall style dishes swimming in sauce. Had to order the entree since lunch stops at 3:00 and it is 3:30 when I ordered. $10 and my General Tso chicken just had a very tangy acidic flavor with a hint on garlic in there. I'm wondering if they messed up my order but I have no desire to go back. And the fried rice they served me was clearly old. read more

Excellent Chinese food...some of the best I've ever had. We usually go for lunch and I'm a big fan of the General Tso's shrimp...yes, I said shrimp. The shrimp and sauce are wonderful, and you also get an appetizer cup of soup (dine-in only...best egg drop soup I've ever had) as well as a nice side of shrimp-fried-rice (or regular steamed rice) and an egg roll. With an iced tea, tax & tip...lunch is around $12...and I leave stuffed. The service is good as well...very welcoming staff. The decor is what you would expect in your typical Chinese place. I went there for the first time because I didn't want to drive all the way to Chinese Kitchen. I wasn't impressed. The boneless chicken was good but that was about it. The shrimp fried rice was ok and the cho chos were ridiculous. I've known cho chos to consist of meat and onions. What was in there, I do not know. It was some sort of mush. Ok I give this restaurant 3 stars for a few reasons; so 1st the cons..... my waitress couldn't keep up. She took forever to get our drinks, then took forever to return to take the order. I ordered chicken and corn soup and my father ordered shrimp basil rice (which we will talk about later) to have before our main entree, however, we got both the soup and rice maybe 2 minutes before we got our main entree. I ordered the China Moon combination special which comes with a cho cho, bacon wrapped shrimp, water chesnut, & pineapple, and a winton wraped shrimp. And I asked if they could make my entree spicy, which she said they could. My dad ordered Mandarin Chicken combination and my daughter got the Boneless Chicken with fries. My entree was not spicy and kind of bland but still not bad. The cho cho had a mush muddy filling that I wasnt used too but with hot mustard and soy sauce to "doctor it up" it ate it. The wonton wrapped shrimp was no good. After the waitress brought our main entrees she did check back to make sure we were good but then she disappeared COMPLETELY. I had to have another waitress get us to-go boxes & drinks as well as I had to have her cash me out. NOW THE PROS.... The food was prepared correctly with the exception of my main entree was not spicy. The Boneless Chicken my daughter had was good nice flavor. The Shrimp Basil Rice... ALL STAR!!!! This rice and the niceness of the 2nd waitress are main reason this got 3 stars and not 1.... DO NOT PASS ON THIS RICE IT IS AMAZING!!! It does not taste lile it sounds, but sooo delicious. When my original waitress brought my soup and the basil rice she brought my daughters food. Which I really liked because she was super hungry. Also the place was clean. As a guest would leave they would rush clean the tables to maintain the cleanliness which was very nice to see especially since I have been in the service industry for almost 15 yrs now. I just wish for 54$ (not including a tip, WHICH I DID TIP, not tipping is wrong on many, many levels) my waitress was a little more attentive as well as a wish a few food related items were a little better than they were but over all not a completely bad visit. read more

Food is great, service is better. This is the only Chinese food I get in Chalmette. Only complaint I have is when I go pick it up the owner checks me out I personally would rather an employee do it so I'll feel better about tipping. read more

We went on Sunday afternoon for my birthday, it wasn't busy and they had a movie on the large screen tv. I was delighted because I got dinner and a movie; however I heard the comment from the other guest and she thought the movie, Pretty Woman, wasn't appropriate for a restaurant. Do not go there. The waitress/cashier was very disrespectful to my family. We went there today, because it was one of the very few places open on 4th of July and we wanted lunch. My aunt ordered the Mongolian Beef and her friend ordered the chicken wings. Both dishes were horrible so they didn't eat them and asked the waitress for it to be removed off the bill. The beef tasted old and the chicken wings were still pinkish in the inside which we expressed to her. Instead of apologizing and making it right, she caught an attitude. My aunt ordered something else, because she was hungry. At the end of the meal, we were paying for it and we noticed the waitress didn't remove the Mongolian Beef. After confronting her about it, she said something under her breath and she literally THREW the refunded money at my aunt which was VERY disrespectful. This lady had no respect. She spoke to us horribly. We are very respectful people and carry ourselves in that way so we were taken aback by her actions. We will never go back to that place. Horrible experience. read more

New owners and you can tell. They did keep some of the older items that sold well the same. I was hoping they would revamp the General Tao's Chicken like they did the hot & sour soup, Crab ragoons, and the dumplings! The Siam fries rice is a nice new addition. When i get Chinese food i tend to get the same thing every time. So this time i wanted to try something different, My wife and I ordered Mai Fun Shrimp & something called Dragon .... it had a bunch of veggies and all the different meats. As an appetizer we got fried wontons and eggrolls, Didn't take long for our Appetizers and they were both typical but good, our main course didn't take to long and looked great. The Mai Fun had an amazing taste with large shrimp and egg with thin rice noodles, it is now my favorite Chinese dish. The Dragon something also look great and tasted great, all the meats were super tender with lots of flavor the veggies were good and i am not a big veggie eater. The fried rice was ok, i am glad we went back to this Restaurant, besides Chinese Kitchen in mid city this is my favorite local Chinese Restaurant. Also everyone that worked there were super friendly, my wife couldn't remember the name of what she ordered last and the Waitress asked the cook and got exactly what she wanted. read more
