The food and service was great! I got the walk nut shrimp which was perfectly breaded and slightly sweet. The shrimp tasted fresh and delicious. It also came with a few pieces of broccoli which was nice to cut the creaminess of the shrimp. My fiancé got the beef hot pot which was spicy and so good. It's the numb type of spicy from the peppercorn - a must try if you are a fan of spice! They also had a fish version of this which we will be trying next time we stop in. Our waitress was very nice and welcoming. She checked on us to ensure we liked our food and everything was going good multiple times. It's a great Chinese spot in town! Found this place when we were checking in at nearby The Hilton Conquistador after a disappointing meal at the Contigo Latin Kitchen at Westin. Food is fresh and delicious. Portions were right for price too. As we have transitioned to live in Tucson, I have came here a few times already and found out it's better to order online because you get free spring rolls. ( basic veggie spring rolls nothing special but perfect for kids to munch on ) I didn't care for it much. Also you can easily customize your order online. Our favorites include: - Orange Chicken - Kung Pao Chicken - sweet and sour pork - shrimp with dry chilli - fried shrimp with peppers I really like the dried chilli shrimp but last time I ordered it was a bit mushy because they added jalapeno. We were a large party however got seated and helped right away. Emily was our server she was very personable and took the joking of our rowdy group well. They made a very special meal for the child with us Emily had a very in depth conversation to make sure she understood what was being asked. We got egg rolls veggie and chicken, tempura shrimp app, sweet and sour chicken, general taos chicken, broccoli beef, chicken fried rice, noodles, egg flower soup and hot and sour soup. Not impressed at all. The service was slow and the food arrived even slower - very unusual for a Chinese restaurant. We both ordered two different dishes and neither one of us liked our food. It was so bland. Even the dried chilies we asked for to add some spice had no flavor. The people around us were also commenting that they were unhappy with their food. read more

Just ordered takeout for the first time since I am new in town. It was some of the best takeout food I've had in a very long time. I got the Vegetable Chow Fun and the rice noodles and veggies were perfectly cooked. It was delicious! I also got a small hot and sour soup that was great as well. It was decently spicy but was also heavy on the rice vinegar, (very sour) which I'm perfectly happy with. The woman who helped me at the front was so sweet and accommodating. I love all the great variety of ethnic food in Tucson. But I had yet to find a really great Chinese restaurant here!!! Well now I have.. it's easy to pass this one by, it's kinda hidden. And pretty plain inside, it's the old Cuban restaurant. But wow, I ordered the salted hot pepper shrimp dish & the mixed veggies w/garlic platter. The shrimp dish had the most amazing flavor and the veggies were so fresh and cooked crispy el dente in a delish light garlic sauce! This place has become really inconsistent and the last 3 times we came here were just bad...like it wasn't even the same place anymore? I think back when we loved it, the owner was cooking. I don't know if it's the same owner or if the other chefs aren't trained correctly, but you could order the same dish and get two completely different recipes, and sometimes it is borderline inedible. Certainly not worth the risk with how expensive they are, which is worth the price if the food is going to be good, but you feel duped when you get home with something even worse than Panda Express. read more

We can't say enough about this family run business! When we walked into the simple yet well arranged restaurant, we couldn't help but notice how clean it was. The fragrance of the foods being cooked left us anxious to choose a dish to try. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. The two entrees we ordered did not disappoint. It's not often you order food, and it actually tastes like you imagined it to be. The food was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. If anything, the portions were so large that we couldn't finish it all, but it was hard to stop eating. China Valley is one of the seemingly hundreds of different restaurants that have occupied the very spot in which this restaurant is situated. The food was delicious and is business-as-usual when it comes to Chinese food, but make sure you go over your order before you leave the place. We had a sudden craving for Chinese food yesterday, so later on, I decided to place a rather large order to pick up. No one in my household has had China Valley, so I figured that would be a prime opportunity. The food came out promptly, was packed neatly, and everyone enjoyed what they ordered, including me, who ordered shrimp with lobster sauce. The food reminded me a lot of a Chinese restaurant up the road. The problem was that they got one of the orders completely wrong. What was supposed to be cashew chicken, wound up some shrimp dish with bell peppers and peanuts. At first I thought that I may have made a mistake as I ordered online, but I did not; it said plain as day (on the receipt) that there was supposed to be cashew chicken in there. Perhaps the orders got swapped by accident? Regardless, it was eaten, and I decided against the nuisance of getting back in the car to get it corrected. Overall I hope that order mishap was an anomaly because the food at China Valley is too good to sneeze at over what I'm sure was an honest mistake. read more

I noticed the House Egg Fu Yung at a table next to me just before I placed my order. The couple said "it's the best we have ever had." They were right!
