This is my first time trying Chip City and I love the dining area under the Rockefeller Center, so it was cool that this was one of the options. I originally ordered something for National Cookie Day, which they gave everyone who downloaded the app a free cookie. However, when I got there, the line was genuinely so long that I would've missed my next engagement, so I emailed customer service as I never received my cookie. They were kind and gave me a free one through enough stars to my account. I ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie and I think if I ate it hot it would be much better. The cookie seemed pretty dense and it's a bit crazy to me that the whole thing is almost 600 calories. I'm more of a crispy cookie person so unfortunately I was not the biggest fan. Also, I wish that the cookie had bigger chocolate chunks for more of the yummy and gooey flavor. I did appreciate the cute boxed packaging though! Kind of disappointed by the chocolate chip cookie from Chip City in Rockefeller center. In terms of taste, texture, and experience, I felt that if you took three or four Subway cookies and stack them on top of each other and made one cookie, this is what you would get. There's very little difference in taste. Not crazy about the setup at Rockefeller center either. You buy your expensive cookie and your very expensive soda from the place next door (unless you want milk or water from here) and then there's nowhere to sit and eat it (like most of the paces here) unless you keep walking around and find the little weird dungeon spot to sit, that's kind of down around a corner and under ground. Overprocessed, mass produced tasting, fast food, mid-cookie that wants to sell you on the cuteness of the shop and the size of the big, super average (at best) cookie. I was sent on a mission from California to bring back home cookies from Chip City so I had to see what all the rave was about! It initially was hard to find as it is a small store in a bigger building so it was a tad of a struggle to find, but it was worth it. Immediately upon coming in, we were greeted by the friendliest workers I have experienced on my trip so far! They were funny and knowledgable about all the cookies so I trusted them on their recommendation and was I glad I did! We got Cookies & Cream, Smores, and Blueberry Cheesecake; all of which were soooo good. In fact, we went back the next day (to which the workers remembered us!) and ordered more for the trip home. There isn't a place to eat inside the store but I do recommend finding a place to eat them soon because they are really good fresh and you can really appreciate the gooey center with the nice crisp on the outside. While cookies aren't usually my dessert of choice, the game changes when they're the chunky, gooey, filled variety. Both Levain and Gooey on the Inside are great, but Chip City's weekly shifting menu and fun variety of flavors combined with legitimately quality cookies have made me loyal to them above all others. I've tried the lemon poppyseed, carrot cake, peanut butter and jelly, and blueberry cheesecake, and they're all delightful. Even a few of the flavors I'm less fond of, like horchata (not enough filling), hot honey cornbread (not sure what I was expecting, but I was underwhelmed because this was just straight up cornbread) and banana cream pie (generally not big on banana desserts outside of banana bread) are pretty good. And they had a pizza cookie for April Fool's weekend, complete with a Parmesan cheese crust and filled with sweetened pizza sauce, and let me tell you it was ABSOLUTELY fantastic and one of my favorite flavors to date. Kinda like pizza Lunchables in cookie form. They definitely intended it as a gag flavor of sorts and likely won't be including it in the regular rotation, but I hope I'm wrong, because this cookie married the savory and sweet so well. This Chip City site, in the Rockefeller Center dining concourse, is blessedly close to my office. If you're unfamiliar with the area, it can be tricky to find the first time around, but I now have a mental GPS burned into my brain for this location. read more

This is a small, simple little cookie place in Rockefeller Plaza concourse. Chip City definitely was not around when I worked in Rockefeller back in 2018-2019 and I so wish it existed back then. Nonetheless, these are large cookies that one is truly enough, but you know that you wanna try more flavors so you end up buying ALL the flavors (it's nice to order these if you have other people to share them with!!) Since I came in November, the flavors other than the chocolate chip were very centered on autumn flavors and Thanksgiving: pumpkin spice latte, pecan pie, white chocolate cranberry oatmeal, sweet potato s'mores. um, YUM?! Safe to say as a party of 5, we ordered all the flavors to take advantage of the buy 5 cookies, get the 6th cookie free deal. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with the chocolate chip! If you like your Thanksgiving foods and pies in a cookie, try the seasonal flavors, but note that they can be a little too sweet / too much to eat at once! The most balanced cookie there was the white chocolate cranberry oatmeal cookie: the perfect mix of sweetness, tartness, and the grain from the oatmeal gives it that nice heartiness to the cookie. First off, let me say that Chip City is one of my favorite cookies and a must visit any time I'm in New York City. I love these cookies so much that we are including one in each of our wedding welcome bags which brings me to this story of the amazing chip city team. I had placed a catering order for 65 cookies to be picked up as I was leaving New York City on the way to my wedding venue in the Hudson Valley. My plan was to pick up the cookies at Rockefeller Center and then catch a train at Grand Central. In my mind, the cookies were going to be in bags that I would be able to carry along side my luggage. When I arrived, I found the cookies had been packed in a large catering box which, if not for my hands being full with 4 pieces of luggage, would have been perfect. That said, there was absolutely no way I was going to be able to make it out of Rockefeller center, into a cab to grand central and onto a train. The staff at the chip city in Rockefeller center quickly pivoted and repacked the cookies into smaller boxes so that they would be able to fit into two bags. If this week had a theme it would be chip city cookies! This week I tried the triple chocolate, lemon berry, chocolate chip, and s'mores cookie. My favorite was surprisingly the s'mores cookie. When perfectly warm, wow does this cookie hit. Service is super quick and if you go to the Rockefeller location there's a million other places to sit or walk while enjoying your fresh cookie. It's definitely a go-to cookie spot. There isn't really seating inside, but like I said there are countless places to sit elsewhere. People inside are happy of course since they're serving cookies and the inside of the store is very bright and colorful. i bought an assortment of 6 cookies here ( chocolate chip, cookies n cream, cherry almond pie, butterscotch toffee, red velvet and blueberry cheesecake) as a gift for someone - they have a buy 5 get one free deal and if you get 6 cookies they will also put it in a box. note that the box is massive and pretty unwieldy, and you will need to pay $2 if you'd like a bag for the box. the cookies are big with gooey middles in levain fashion and they have inventive, fun flavors on rotation. i sampled 3 of the cookies and thought the chocolate chip was good but levain does it better. the cookies n cream was delicious though, i see why it's a crowd pleaser. the middling rating for this location is because of the service. these cookies are pretty expensive even with the slight discount for a half dozen, and the girl at the counter unceremoniously dumped all the cookies in the box without anything to separate them, etc even after i mentioned that this was a gift. the cookies were broken up and smushed together by the time my friend opened the box. i would like to try the cookies n cream cookie again but will probably visit another location. read more

The expansion of Chip City and their consistently amazing and delicious cookies to midtown is obviously an amazing get for both tourists and office workers near 30 Rock. The quality is virtually the same at every location and the staff is very friendly. The chocolate chip is tried and true. The only thing I wish is that their special cookie rotations didn't end so soon (starts on a Friday) so we end up missing on the awesome apple cider flavor! read more
