I don't Yelp. I deleted my APP. Tonight I'm Yelping. Glastonbury Chipotle is the worst run restaurant in town, and may be the worst run restaurant I've visited in a very long time. If there is a manager, they certainly do not make their presence known. The staff has the sense of urgency of a pack of dead snails. They care nothing for the guests. They do not go out of their way to provide service. In fact, they appear to be upset when they have to perform the very job they were hired for. It's appalling. This is not a one time bad experience, but a consistently ridiculous existence. I dropped my kids off and came back 45 minutes later to find they still had not received their food. The restaurant was out of numerous ingredients. The staff moves about (barely), and talk amongst themselves like there are no customers there at all. Tonight all three lemonades in the dispensers were empty. In fact, all the soft drinks except Coke Zero were empty. They were out of sour cream, and they are about 400 yards from a fully stocked grocery store. SEND SOMEONE ACROSS THE STREET!!! You can't make it up!! The Chipotle concept is a great one, albeit SEVERELY overpriced. This is made even worse by the most apathetic staff that ever set foot in a restaurant. The dining room is consistently filthy and tables are in constant need of wiping. I can't blame the staff entirely, but how about taking some pride in your work??? And can we get a manager? Never seen one there. I could whip that place into shape in my sleep. It's sad that whoever the person is that's paid to do it won't. Time for the people of Glastonbury to speak up. I'm positive I'm not the only one, as I've spoken to many of you. Stop paying for lousy service. Speak out.... Hopefully someone else will read this and share their experiences. Delicious, quick and consistent! A family favorite when we want "fast" food but not fried drive-thru. The chicken burrito bowl is always good, full of flavor and spice. The only down side is the $2 charge for a little scoop of guacamole. Really a lot for what you get and not worth that up charge. Parking can be tricky in "the circle" but you can always find a spot in the lot next door. read more

I've never been to such an empty chipotle ever until I came here on a Saturday evening. It's located in a very nice plaza of shops. The service was wonderful, but the portions they give you is a big no no especially for the price. I ordered the burrito bowl, half chicken half steak. They are sooo stingy with their portions. The scoop of rice isn't even one full scoop, more like a half a spoon scoop. As for the rest of the sides I got in it, was the same. Smallest portion ever for a whopping price of 10 bucks. No clue why they are so stingy, no wonder it was as empty as can be in there. So not worth it. Oh and they also played some freaky weird music in there. This was my first time experiencing an empty chipotle during dinner hours and receiving such small portions. Def will not be returning to this location. read more

We walked in at 9:00 on a Wednesday night, the music was blaring so loud I had to yell to my friend so she could hear me. We walked up to the counter and the young thinner short girl gave me the stank eye. There were 5 employees just standing around but no one would help us. after standing there for a while finally we were helped. I got the garlic steak, it was terrible. dry and flavorless. my food was awful. one employee, a younger thinner boy almost ran into me and didn't say excuse me. he just laughed with his other coworkers. felt like I was being bullied by the employees just for eating here. 0/10. don't come here. read more

The girl then continues to yell at the kid who id assume is a high schooler for making the burrito too big. She yells at him in front of several customers and is rude to me while paying. Other Chipotle locations are better. Have been here multiple times (due to convenience) and have experienced issues with ordering system use (app or call-in), food quality, order correctness, and timeliness EVERY TIME. Tonight was the last straw, after placing an on-line order, it was finally available for pick-up AN HOUR AFTER the original pickup time (which, by the way, pick up was requested 30 minutes after the time I placed the order). And then the order was wrong (so while I can understand a busy restaurant- you still have quality control issues if they aren't giving you what is on the ticket they have on the outside of the food). Every single time I've ordered ahead here, something has gone wrong. Every single time I order ahead my order is missing at least one ingredient, and more often than not has ingredients I didn't order in it. Do not order ahead unless you want to be let down. Especially don't order an add on like queso that you have to pay extra for, because they will not give it to you. read more

this place used to be one of the freshest chipotle's around. now the ingredients are often overly dry (meats) and the speed is very slow. the same people serving are always having to help prep food and restock. over the last 4 years it has been consistently losing quality. read more

Like any chain (fast food) restaurant, there is little deviation between experience in terms of the menu and food. The differentiator comes from customer service and quality of ingredients. At this Chipotle I'd say its about average. The people prepping your food and ringing you out are nice, but that's about as much as you can say about them. A lot of people say the rice bowl portions at this particular location is underwhelming, but I usually get the burrito which is pretty sufficient and about on par with other locations in terms of taste and quantity. That being said, I frequent this place for its consistent quality and to satisfy my burrito craving. At the end of the day, remember it's just another chain fast food joint. read more

Parking here can be tough as it's right in the middle of an outdoor shopping mall. Every time I go there is quite a wait to get your food. There is a decent amount of seating and a nice patio area which is great during the summer. read more

We needed a break from cooking and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. Not much in the mood for pizza, Asian take-out, or burgers, we figured, we haven't had Mexican in a long while so we stopped in. The service was poor as hell, with the main server being so slow, he constantly needed assistance from the cashier, including for the customer in line ahead of us (whom he took about 10 min to serve - this is a Chipotle people: that is a ridiculous wait). His serving of fajitas and other fillings were pathetic at best. Add to that, he couldn't even roll the burrito. You could just tell he didn't want to be there. Meanwhile, the crew members working the stove are assiduously going at it, doing their best to make sure all the burrito stuffing doesn't run out. It's too bad., We love Chipotle in general and know we can count on quality ingredients. This location, however, is just plain pitiful with the quality of its cudtomer-facing service staff. read more

I really don't get why people like Chipotle so much. My first Chipotle experience was at the Cambridge (MA) location, and it was pretty "meh". Not bad, but also not something I would get again since there are way better burrito places in Cambridge and Boston (BOCA GRANDE!). I'm back in CT now so I decided to give Chipotle another try, what with the lack of awesome burrito options. I ordered a veggie burrito and got all the toppings. It was not very good for a number of reasons: 1. It was cold. I even heated it up in the microwave for a minute and it was STILL cold. My brother had a steak burrito and his was also cold. Cold burrito=kind of ew. Our food wasn't in transit that long--if it had been remotely warm to begin with, there's no way it would have been that cold when we ate it. 2. It was impossible to eat without a fork and knife which defeats the purpose of a burrito for me. My brother was able to eat his without the aid of utensils, but mine was literally falling apart after about 3 bites. 3. The vegetarian option for burrito filling was peppers and onions (this comprised maybe about 10% of my actual burrito). It didn't even taste like the peppers and onions had been cooked at all, so that was kind of bland. Basically, I would have enjoyed it more if there had been a tastier, more creative vegetarian option; if the food had been HOT (or even warm); and if the burrito had been better constructed so it wasn't just a sloppy mess. My brother suggested that the burritos would have been better if they'd been grilled...I agree that this would have helped solve the sloppiness and coldness issues. I do have to say that the guac was good. I also liked the hot sauce. Guac and hot sauce are definitely not reason enough for me to go back, however. My quest to find a decent burrito place in CT continues. read more

Ya know, I just do not get what people seem to love about this place. For the same idea (i.e. sorta like a Subway but for burritos instead of sandwiches) I think Moe's Southwest Grill is WAY better. Plus, as the mother of two vegetarian teenagers, I'm surprised that Chipotle seems to have blanked on coming up with a vegetarian option (whereas Moe's has a really great marinated tofu.) Plus, both times I've tried it, my food has been cold AND they were out of guacamole as a topping for my burrito bowl. Um, hello, Chipotle? How do you run out of guacamole?? Bottom line: if you're in the mood for quick Mexican, go just around the corner to Moe's. You'll also have a much easier time parking there than you will in Somerset Square. read more

Ok I'm not going to go crazy reviewing this place. You either like Chipotle or you don't. But I must say that this particular Chipotle is among the best. I'm not sure how they do it but no matter how long the line is (and at lunchtime it can get long!) it moves quickly and efficiently. It seems like at all the other Chipotles the lines move pretty slowly. Not here. It doesn't seem that they have any more workers than other Chipotles nor does it seem that the workers at the other Chipotles are slacking off. So I can't explain it but somehow this one just does it better. So if you're pressed for time at lunch and want a decent meal this place is a good choice. read more

I am completely powerless over Chipotle. Everything is so fresh tasting. This Chipotle was built out in a location designed for something else, so the layout is really funky. It works for Chipotle, because it's funky too. I use the app to order, and it makes getting your food quick and easy. My standard is the chicken burrito. I load it up with as much as I can. Ok - I've had it with this place. Today I walk in and the owner or manager was literally weighing bowls and taking grains out of the bowl. The employee put cheese on my bowl and the owner or manager literally took cheese off of my food and put it back into the cheese container. Really? How stingy can we get? Also- I felt uncomfortable about how close the man was getting to the girls that were employees to whisper in their ears that they did something wrong. I heard him say one girl put too many beans in my bowl. I've never seen something so obnoxious. Maybe he was trying to train the employees, but that is what a good manager does when the business is closed. I could tell that the employees felt awkward. We ordered online and when we arrived they hadn't even started our order although there was no other customers. When I asked why it wasn't ready, the genius burrito maker said she "didn't want out food to get cold". Umm...Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of ordering online??? So when it says to pick up at 8:45, that means you'll be waiting till 9:00 for what should have been already done. They are constantly running out of the little things like you know...steak! Chipotle is by far my favorite fast-food restaurant. This location in Glastonbury is the one I frequent most often. The selection of food they serve is very limited: tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, and salads, but they excel at all of it. It's not fancy and it's not all that authentic, so as long as you keep your expectations reasonable you won't be disappointed. At the least, it's light years better than Taco Bell and far ahead of it's blander counterpart Moe's. The food is always fresh. All 4 of their meats are fantastic. My personal favorite is the barbacoa burrito. The hot salsa is also very good for a chain. If you want a fast, relatively healthy, and inexpensive meal then Chipotle is the place to go to. read more

I found out about this place when it first opened because I was working in the plaza at the time. I was convinced by a couple of my stereotypical Glastonbury coworkers to try it out. I did. It has been a love affair ever since. I first tried chicken, then pork, never was a beef eater so I steered clear...no pun intended. I got my mom hooked on it. When I went vegan I knew that I could still enjoy this food and it has been made even better recently with them changing the recipe of the pinto beans to be vegan friendly. I'm just waiting for them to start serving the sofritas nationwide. Chipotle is leaps and bounds better than anything Taco Bell could ever serve. Just stop wasting your money on garbage food and go to Chipotle. read more

It isn't fancy, but it is tasty. Moment I walk in Chipotle I want to eat eat eat. When the food is fresh and it has just been cooked the tastes are out-of-this-world give my mouth right on a roller coaster sensation. However the cuts of meat are not always fresh and the serving sizes are inconsistent. One person's spoonful of chicken is equal to another person's half of spoon of chicken comma so the quality and enjoyment factors are not always the same. I think the flavors of Chipotle are much better than those of Moe's Southwest Grill. The only thing I don't like is how much the guacamole costs. It's over $2 for a tablespoon size of guacamole which is a little bit ridiculous so I have stopped putting guacamole on my phone. Both my stomach and my bank account thank me for that making that decision. read more

Chipotle has gone downhill. I used to love going. Hefty portions, fresh ingredients and fast service. But today, what I have grown to love was stolen from me.I am not sure what exactly was going on but what I experienced was unacceptable. The line was to the door when I walked in. Something I have grown accustomed to. Today though, the line was moving much slower. The cause of the line moving slow was due to something I have never seen in a restaurant. There was a man working with the service team that was performing quality control. Usually this is a good thing. But, this was not quality control on the actual food product, this was a control of the portions. I ordered a bowl. The rice was put into the bowl like always. But somehow not all the rice stayed in the bowl. My bowl was put on a scale and some of my rice was removed. I was fuming. All the way down the line, this man was accompanying my bowl. Making sure that I didn't receive the "Normal Chipolte" portion. I saw what was going on and screwed his plans by asking for 4 scoops of mild salsa. But then I saw I only received like 10 shreds of cheese. The man then reloaded himself at the beginning of the serving line to do it all over again with the next victim/customer. There were like 30 people behind me in line so I didn't want to make a scene. But, I guess that's why we have Yelp. I am not sure if the man was from Chipotle corporate as a quality control consultant or he was the manager. What I do know is: what was happening was not only ruining my lunch but was damaging the Chipotle brand. Luckily I was able to locate an email address of a Chipotle Regional Manager. As a business owner myself, I know this would hurt my business and I would want to know about it. One last note: The man that was doing the portion control was not wearing a hat or a hair net. Unfortunately, I am continually disappointed by this Chipotle. Sloppy Burritos, super unmotivated staff. My burrista couldn't close the burrito so he literally squeezed the contents out into a new tortilla. It was a nasty sight to see. 2 others were sitting on the counter behind the assembly line eating food. One employee was talking on the phone while making a burrito. While I feel that the ingredients here are superior to Moe's, the staff certainly don't have the training or care for their jobs. read more

This may be the stingiest Chipotle I've ever been to. Half full bowls and all toppings are only a half scoop instead of a full scoop. I love chipotle, but this Glastonbury store is the worst I have ever been to! The food is always old and the staff seems bothered when a customer comes in the door. When asked how long the food has been sitting in the containers they lie and say ten minutes when it has clearly been in there for hours. The salsa is older than anything I've ever eaten and it tastes gross. I will never eat here again! I don't know how they stay in business but someone needs to close this place or call them something other than chipotle! THE BEST CHIPOTLE IS ON THE BERLIN TURNPIKE! That's how a store should be!
