When this location opened it was bomb. Now? WHACK. WHACK. WHACK. they're ALWAYS OUT OF GUAC. AAAALLLLWWWWAAAAYYYSSSS. I've came different times in the past months and I kid you not 90% of the time they're out of guac. Like I don't understand their system of dealing with food when they run out I would think that they see it getting low so they'd make more. And really? More than 20mins to make? What type of guac are they making that it takes you over 20 mins? And then they don't tell you so you don't waste your damn time in line. Horrible. Everything about it. Employees look like they don't know what they're doing and then they actually don't know what they're doing. Food runs out and no one refills it unless asked and then forced to wait, I got a half of an avocado in my guacamole and it was as hard as a rock, so this makes me really question to quality of food used. Food is ok, Customer service SUCKS!! I been here a couple times but this will be my last time. Walked in no line but it looks like they were filling orders, which I have no problem with. The issue is having me stand there without communicating (i.e....we will be with you sir, we are filling online orders, we apologize for the wait...) Not to mention there is one particular server ("nose earring") who has no type of customer service. If you have ask for a "little extra" the server goes ballistic like if it's coming from her pocket. No smile--looks like she hates her job. Keep in mind that Chipotle is probably one of the highest pay for most fast food outlets. The saddest part of all the ratings on yelp truly shows what this Chipotle lacks in, but I still went in...even worst one would wonder how come management hasn't even address it. Don't go to this Chipotle when they're busy. The service gets pretty slow and meat gets undercooked. I ordered a steak bowl today and they ran out of steak. So I decided to wait a couple of extra minutes (this was during lunch). When they finally finished the steak, I was already checking out and they were charging me for vegetarian which I corrected the cashier and they changed the charge. They then proceeded to add the steak and added 12 pieces to my bowl. I did asked them if that was the serving and the cashier and other member had told me "yea, that's the serving". I didn't complain further. I noticed after I had paid that the steak was well undercooked and raw in the middle. It wouldn't usually bother me much if it was a little undercooked, but when its chewy and tough, that's a different story. Otherwise the experience was okay. They could have acknowledge my concern better and even if they are busy still put out quality meat. read more

I love chipotle but this locations workers were so rude that I couldn't enjoy my food cause of how mad and disappointed I was. If I see a little amount of chicken in one bowl and a fair amount in another bowl, Im gonna ask for more in the one that is less. I asked this man if he can put a little more chicken, since I always do and never seems to be a problem since its like 3 small pieces of chicken.. This man shouts at me saying they charge for it, I had told him I want a little more and he kept repeating its extra.. Then I went and asked another worker for hot cause cause there was none out, he went inside to grab one, came back out and said "Theres none out there?" Let's get this straight. Everyone obviously knows about the e coli outbreak that happened OUT OF STATE. Which means locations in California have not been affected. Employees who work here are being affected greatly just due to the fact that customers don't have the real information on the situation that has happened. Before you start spreading rumors and take your business somewhere else, I highly suggest you get your facts straight before so openly judging a company that thrives on changing the fast food culture. E. coli is a natural thing and happens world wide and we do not get to choose whether or not if it affects food. I'm pretty sure a handful of you have terrible eating habits as it is and blame chipotle as an outlet of your frustration. Common sense would have let you know if the outbreak was in California stores would have been shut down yet they're not. Think about it. This place is a JOKE! I've never been in a completely empty Chipotle; but now I know why!! I counted 6 employees standing around, talking, cooking & I stood there waiting to order. First off, let me say that I am a huge Chipotle fan. Whenever traveling out of town (since Benicia doesn't have one), I always am looking to try new Chipotle outlets to compare them to my favorite in Pleasant Hill. Unfortunately, the one in Pinole does not compare favorably. One thing I noticed is that they have an electric fry grill there rather than the gas BBQ grill found at most restaurants. This results in the chicken tasting bland and not having that BBQ grill flavor that I have (literally) grown to love. It took me a couple of visits to determine why their food tasted different, and traced it down to the fact that they were just using a flat electric fry grill. If you are not having any grilled meat, the place is probably fine, but true Chipotle fans should avoid this one. read more

If you want to feel like you got robbed, go here. For $10.13 you get 10 to 12 dice size pieces of chicken or low grade chewy steak which when you are half way through eating the bowl is non-existent and your left with cheap fixings. Ask for a little more meat and you get 3 more pieces. God forbid you add $1.90 for 1 flat spoon of guacamole. Add a drink and now you are at almost $15. And the atmosphere is like being in an airplane hanger with drowned out music. The ambient noise is so loud that they got my order wrong 4 times. So they wasted $13 bucks to charge me $13 bucks which goes to show that it really costs them probably no more than 3 bucks for everything, if that. By the time you've paid you are wondering why you went there in the first place. My advice, if you have the time, go to an authentic Mexican Restaurant and pay half the price for twice the food, better quality, and better service. read more

I like Chipotle, but I am often disappointed by the service at this location. They usually are out of some ingredient. If it's not the rice, it's the chicken or the chips. It's either out, or I have to sit and wait for more of it to be cooked. Other locations much better about having a fresh batch of food ready to go before any runs out. read more

If your looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican food, then don't go to Chipotle Mexican Grill. I've been wanting to try it out for some time especially since i like to support our local businesses....you live & you learn. I'm glad I tried it so that I know not to waste my time & money there again. The food is fresh and looked good. The place was very nice, I liked the seating & the feel of the place....it just wasn't authentic enough for me. The rice they use is just plain white rice with cilantro chopped up in it....different & not what I am used to. They also have grilled bell peppers and onions, which is also not typical but it was good. They don't put much meat on the burritos, sour cream & guacamole was extra & the most disappointing thing to me was that I don't like a place that only offers Tabasco sauces....what's up with that??? It's all about the chili sauces! I had to squeeze lemon on my burrito just to give it some flavor. I won't ever go back there again! Looks like my favorite taco truck is still numero uno! read more

I have like this chipotle in the past, but after today I'm not sure. So what happened today was that I ordered a sofrita burrito and they had almost put in pinto beans when i asked for black beans, to me not a very big deal,nobody is perfect. But then they put WAY too much lettuce in my burrito and before I could say anything they lady had closed my burrito. I could see the lettuce and cheese and sour cream coming out of the side a little. So we left the resturant. We had barely left the parking lot when I felt something wet on the bottom of my pants. I was holding the bag of food. I looked at the bag and it was ripped!! And I could see the juices from my burrito coming out a little. My score for Chipotle this evening is to stars, mostly due to the horrible customer service . So I come to this chipotle frequently and as always there is one rude person out of the bunch. I waited in line about 20 minutes because service was so slow, and then when I finally was served they were being really stingy with the rice and the other condiments that go in the burrito besides the meat. I think that Chipotle needs to lower the price if they want to be stingy on the items that go into the burrito they are already super stingy with the amount of meat do we really need to penny pinch on the rice beans and cheese too? When I asked for salsa on the side the guy behind the counter had the nerve to say to me that I've had enough and that if I wanted any more than I would have to pay extra, I didn't see that on the sign anywhere and I didn't hear him say that to other people who asked for extra, I'm just saying... Even after all of this he gave me the salsa with an attitude and didn't put the top on one of them at all, and didn't bother to fix the top on the other because I guess he was feeling some kind of way On top of all this the staff seems to be really unprofessional, laughing and joking when they have a line of people waiting to be served . Do they really want to provide what we want to pay for, or do they want to charge us for what they want to give us? Came here and ordered a steak burrito and they ran out of steak. Ate half of the burrito and took rest home and immediately placed in the fridge. Heated up this morning to eat the rest and took a few bites and noticed it smelled funny. After about thirty minutes became sick. Called the store at 10:30 am to let them know I had gotten sick. Was worried others might get sick too. Salem the manager did not seem too concerned but said she would take a report and another department would call me back. Tried to get more information such as how long I would need to wait and she said she did not know, but thought it would be later that morning. By 4:30 pm, still no call from this other department and have been sick all day. Called the restaurant back and Salem said she did not know when the other department would call me back. She said she would look into it and call me back in an hr. 6 pm still no call back from Salem. Called store back and Salem said she did not know what was going on. Sent email to Chipotle corporate website and did finally get a call back who took my information but was not too concerned. I had to ask for a refund on a burrito which made me sick and will have to wait for a check to come! Wonderful customer service! I will never come back! read more

I wish I could give them 4 stars all around. For the quality of there food. Yes they get 4 stars. I love Chipotle. The steak and chicken is amazing. Love the cilantro rice, the corn salsa, and guacamole is outta this world. Chips are great but very high in calories. I try and watch my calorie intake. So I usually pass on the chips. The reason for only 3 stars is the location. Parking is hard to find. People don't know how to drive and make the traffic of getting in and out even worse. By the time you approach Chipotle the line is close to the door. I don't mind waiting (even though they move really slow) but what really irritates me is how skimpy they are with the portions. Especially the meat and fajita vegetables. If you ask for more they say we'll have to charge you. So overall I have this love hate relationship with Chipotle. I'll never forget one employee (didn't get his name) was so rude when we asked him to make a quesarito off of the secret menu. After he said yes he gave us nothing but attitude and skimpy portion. In the quesarito they put cheese in it before they grill it and afterwards when he made it into a burrito. Going down the line of ingredients. He skipped the cheese. I asked could I have cheese. And he had the nerve to ask me, "Why do you want more cheese. There is cheese already on it". Don't question me. I'm the customer and I want what I want. I had to check myself because I almost stooped to his level and went bad on him. Needles to say I stayed away from Chipotle for awhile. I went here on 6/11/14 to place a catering order for 30 people for 6/16/14. First, I has to wait 10 minutes to speak to the "manager". Then we finally sat down and I explained what I wanted. After filling out the catering form (another 10 minutes) she left many times to ask another person how and what to fill out on the form. When I asked if I could pick up my order (since they do not deliver) at 10:45 - 11am, I was told no. I would have to come at 11:30am. She then stated, I don't like to come in early so I can;t have it ready for you by 10:45am. WTF?? I was planning to spend over $350.00 here. I told her I would just take my business some where else and she replied "Have a nice day" I will not eat here ever again and since I work at a big company that orders alot of outside food, I will make sure our company doesnt order from this Chipotle again!! Honestly all of these reviews are sooooooo extra. I work here and I'm the first one to tell you that our service/food isn't extremely great compared to other locations like Berkeley, but some people are just rating us lower for things we can't control. We are REQUIRED to give certain amounts of toppings, ESPECIALLY the meat. I know it doesn't seem like a lot but the managers notice whenever we put too much meat. There are literally cameras above us. I also saw someone give us one star because we didn't serve them "nachos" off the "secret menu." We DON'T have a secret menu, so if you order nachos we can't help you. BUT, if they were to ask for chips in the bottom of their burrito bowl, then we can do that. Another thing we can't control is how long it takes to make the food. Sorry if everyone comes into the restaurant during our peak hours and the lines are extremely long, but if you want your food made faster, you can just drive to taco bell. Other than that, I would agree that some of the workers should stop talking on the line as much. read more

Ok to get this started I want you to know this is my first ever yelp review and as someone that absolutely loves chipotle I saddens me that the pinole location is the closest one to my home. The kitchen staff is on point they all seem to be doing their job. Their area looks clean and the food is nothing less then what I expect from chipotle. The front of house staff is a completely different story. The line seems almost constantly dirty and theirs always at least one girl standing around doing nothing like no one ever taught her how a rag works. That Asian girl that talks 20 decibels higher then she needs to is ok. She just looks like she's constantly stressed out. That African American girl with the tattoos on her right arm? Please get rid of her, move her to kitchen or teach her how to put stuff on, then roll ,a burrito. Also give her a lesson in manners. She's the definition of a rude, incompetent employee that's obviously putting in as close to zero effort as she can get away with. Hopefully this place will improve or the Vallejo location will open up soon. read more

I can believe how much this location of Chipotle has slipped. I went in twice in the last couple days. Horrid service! Food tasted old. I ordered the salad and they didn't give me dressing, I went back to ask for it and the guy disappears in back returns and say they are out! Seriously?! He did same thing when I asked for a tray - goes in back. I am standing there waiting w/ my kid. I just walked to table and then he gets tray and yells "Do you want your tray??" Whaaaaa ?? All of the tables were dirty!? Really?! After their recent health scare issue at these restaurants?? Yes, every one need to be cleaned. Gross! (And I have to add I hate that I see staff members eating in the dining area with the public. Just seems wrong). Anyway, so we went outside. Salad bland w/o the dressing. Overall the staff was awful, unfriendly, didn't seem to care or know what they were doing. Just one woman at counter, others just milling around getting things. Line getting longer. Guy at register yawning. Then I go back again tonight (why? - convenience and my daughter wanted a burrito), I get the kid tacos. Again, something missing. There were no soft taco tortillas so the guy goes in the back, not the least bit rushed. Laughs about it. The sole woman at counter didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. When I asked for lettuce she grabs foil, places lettuce in it and hands it to me. So odd. Meat tasted old. Just horrible all the way around. What happened to this place?!
