My complaint is not about technical problems, but about the terrible customer experience I had with the store. I placed the order at 4:47 according to the email I received. The projected delivery time was 5:25. At 5:40, I called the delivery Chipotle and asked about my order status. I was told there was a computer problem, but the driver told them what the order was, picked it up and was on his way. At 6:10, the driver called me and told me he's at Chipotle, the order was not ready, and no one has any idea what the order is supposed to be; he's at a loss and is trying to contact DoorDash for help. I called back to the store, talked to the same person who couldn't explain why I had been lied to. I then ask if I should just tell her what the order is so they can get started on it. She said, no, I should call the driver back. So I call the driver back. I suggest he hand the phone to the Chipotle order taker so they can just key in the order. They would not do that. So I had to dictate the order to him verbally while he wrote it down on receipts. He read it back to me so I could verify he had transcribed it properly. He did. He then gave them the order. At 6:50 PM, over two hours after I had placed the online order, the food was delivered. However, that's not the end of it. There were many problems with the order. The chicken salad bowl had no chicken and was half empty. The child's cheese quesadilla had no cheese (I'm not saying there wasn't much, it was completely absent). The large order of chips was about 1/3 the size it should be and the large guacamole was absent. With this many problems in an order it's pretty clear that the staff were annoyed with the problems and were taking it out on the customer. But wait, there's more. I always want to give businesses the chance to fix problems. Nobody's perfect and there's no way to improve without knowing there's a problem. So I called back and immediately asked to speak to a manager. I did and outlined the problems above. He apologized and said that if I came in to the store, he'd give me some 2 for 1 coupons and that I could call 1-800-CHIPOTLE to get a full refund. So I call 1-800-CHIPOTLE which I find out is only the catering line. It specifically says if you have any problems or customer service need to go to the website and go to the "talk to us" section or call the local Chipotle restaurant. Since I had already spoken to the local Chipotle restaurant I went to the website and found that there is no "talk to us" section. There's an "email us" link which I suppose is close enough. That's where we are now. Chipotle, I'm letting you know that you've got some serious problems. I tried to use your online ordering to reduce my stress and take care of dinner. Instead, I got two hours of runaround and a screwed up order in the end. After submitting the above to the online form, I got the following: Your comments and questions are very important to us. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Depending on the nature of your inquiry we may reach out to you via the email address or phone number provided. We look forward to speaking with you further. I guess we'll see where this goes from here. read more

For ~6 bucks, you get a jumbo burrito made quickly, loosely to your specification, and containing fresh and possibly even "natural" ingredients. I have never been disappointed; but I have never expected more than what I just described. Sometimes their tables are dirty and the actual menu is very limited. But who cares? Chipotles vary a great deal from location to location. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them. This is one of the better locations and everyone got all crazy passive-aggressive about this particular joint. Easy cowboy... It's a chain? Who cares. Do you like it or not? I actually thought the food was pretty good here. And it didn't do weird things to my body like qdoba and baja fresh do. I did have some "issues". As if I wouldn't! The steak was mondo hot. Really! I would say close to 3 stars at a thai food restaurant. I would like it if they had corn soft tacos. They only had flour. The guy that was after the guy that put meat on my taco didn't understand me very well and didn't listen so good either and I ended up with more salsa on my tacos than I wanted. I like that they use meat from animals who are grain fed and not given antibiotics. The steak was a bit tougher than some other places but sometimes those beefs running around being grain fed get that way. Not a big deal for me to use my masticators! Both my gf and I noticed the coke cola mix was really good. I can't fathom why this place is a burrito haven for some people. It's definitely an acceptable burrito close to class, but it is nowhere near special. I can't bear spending the $8 when I go here and $1.60 for two tablespoons of guac isn't going to save the burrito (asking for more is futile). Over half of the wrap is rice and the tortilla, the other ingredients are added in such meager proportions that it's hard to believe that they're present. Saving the burrito, the establishment is very well kept, the servers are nice, and the chips are pretty darn awesome. Finally a Chipotle with awesome employees! I want to take Jesse home with me and have her be my grannie. She has such a joy about her. And a beautiful heart. Angel is awesome too. After ringing me up she said "Nice to meet you." My on-going complaint about Chipotle is that they hire unfriendly, unhappy employees nationwide. And they are so incredibly cheap with their servings. The only thing this place had going for it was free drinks for students. Now that I'm no longer a student, it no longer has that benefit. I try to eat here as little as possible but, other people seam to like paying $6 for <McDonalds quality food that usually gives me an upset stomach. If you want a Burrito, Venture a little south to Taco Del Mar or West to Q Doba. Or if you're up for the trip and want a REAL burrito, go to Gorditos. Awesome! Pure awesome! This place is really the best bang for the old buck. And now they have brown rice, which provides more variety and opportunities for awesomeness. I have been to this location many times and have had just about perfect service. One time, though, I did notice an employee not wash the hands after using the bathroom, which really grossed me out (this person ran the register, but still...). I let management know and they were deeply sympathetic and gave me two free burrito coupons. There's a person in every restaurant that 'forgets' to wash the hands, right? It was handled quite well, though, so no real harm done. On a lighter note, Chipotle is a great place for a quick bite, a large group party, or an inexpensive date. Great job, Chipotle. I remember reading someone's review where they stated that it might be laced with crack because it's that addictive. That thought lingered in my head as I ordered my steak burrito (no guac, heavy on the pico, just a wee bit of sour cream - and I'll note that the people manning the station were rather patient with my n00b-ness). People who do not like Chipotle should be burned at the stake for witchcraft. I feel in love with this oh so yummy place while visiting a friend in Chicago and then was pleasantly surprised to find a few locations opened in Seattle. I tend to go to the new Northgate location as it is close to home. I was never a fan of Taco Del Mar or any of the other fresh mexican fast food places around here. Chipotle though is a haven for my taste buds. I often buy it for my staff and feed all of them for 50 bucks. My favorite is the Barbacoa Tacos. That meat is so tasty and their chips and salsa is like crack. I can't believe people are complaining about having to make decisions for themselves. Come on people its just a burrito. I almost always get the taco salad or burrito bowl, and love the generous helpings of beans, salad, corn, rice, salad, salsa, chicken, and sour cream. Service is typically fast, but definitely avoid coming at lunch or dinner time. The line piles all the way out the door, and there is no room left to sit. A lot of people seem to be reviewing the U District Chipotle like it's a restaurant, when to me it's more like a warm embrace of burritos and love. I've lived around here for about 2 years, so I've eaten here about 300 times. Every time is a euphoric experience; a Chipotle burrito can rescue you from hunger, stress, or even heartbreak. The burrito magicians at this location are amazing, keep the line moving fast (3-4 people per minute) and the dining room clean. On Halloween they give a free burrito to anyone dressed like a burrito. To the poor college student, this "free burrito" brainwashing gimmick is a positive reinforcement tool so potent, it makes those nostalgic McDonald's happymeal toys seem like a hacked off finger in your Wendy's chili--you know the one, the finger that guy on the bus wanted you to smell earlier in the week. What can I say that would be original? It is a chain burrito joint, but NOT owned my McD's as some might tell you. It's clean, friendly, often built near schools. I've been here probably a 1000 times since they've opened... free burritos on halloween for dressing up in foil is a tradition with my wife and our friends. My present burrito is: Burrito w/ light rice, beans & fajita veggies, chicken, mild & corn & medium salsa, guac, lettuce. I like the cheese, but I'm lactose intolerant. BTW, Students get free fountain drinks! One time i saw one of the managers wearing a Chipotle shirt I thought was cool, so I asked if I could buy one. She said "Sure" and sold it to me. They actually rang me up, it was $10, and she charged me a chips & guac for a profit. For about $12.50 I got a nice long-sleeve t-shirt. If I wear it into other chipotles, the employees think I'm a manager at another store and get nervous, which is hilarious but I try not to do it too often. Whenever I go to Chipotle, I'm thinking of ways of getting a bigger burrito. A great strategy that I use is asking for extra or both types of rice and beans. Another good way is to get half of one type of meat and half of another. I usually end up getting a burrito with the width of a cup coaster. I usually split my burrito in half, eatig one half there and saving the other half for later. Sometimes, I eat the whole burrito if I'm really hungry. There are only two problems with this: the tortilla tends to peel back spilling some of the contents and the occasional comment from the staff about my burrito's girth. This particular Chipotle location is consistent with other branches. My only problem with the Chipotle franchise is that all the burritos typically taste the same no matter what type of meat you choose. Also, I don't like how my burrito's contents are segregated once wrapped; I'm not a huge fan of twisting my burrito around to alternate between only rice and only meat bites. There is typically a long line, almost all the way back to the door - but this should be expected in a college town. This is also a good location for bro spotting. Bros love burritos. Bottom Line: Ask for extra or both types of rice and/or beans for a bigger burrito. Ask for cilantro! I go here every Thursday with some friends, and it's become so important that it's almost an insult if we leave someone behind on "Burrito Thursday." The food is cheap, especially given the portion size and the free drink for showing your student ID. Here's a tip for making that meal bigger: Order a burrito bowl, and ask for beans AND fajitas. There's no rule that a fajita burrito can't have beans in it, and a burrito bowl gives them more room to pile it on without worrying about wrapping the thing up. Tip #2 is to always choose the meat that's fullest to the brim. You don't want the dregs of the bowl, and you shouldn't order the steak unless you can see that it's medium rare. Finally, why "Burrito Thursday"? For those of you at the UW Health Sciences Center, you may notice that The Rotunda serves burritos every Thursday, and this is about the only edible food besides the overpriced pasta. However, they still taste marginal, and the meat looks like dog food. If you're one of the many who get excited for Thursday because The Rotunda serves *better* food--even though it still sucks--then make the extra effort to go to Chipotle instead. read more

Though they never lost my faith, I am willing to take on the deals! Thank you for the constant BOGO deals, free chips and guac, even a free lunch. This location has been my go-to for 4 years now. It's been awhile, Chipotle, but you've captured my attention yet again ;) Yes, the recent health scares kept me away for a bit but honestly this could have happened to any restaurant and unfortunately Chipotle had to take the hit. Of any fast food chains, Chipotle is actually one that I admire a lot for having really fresh and straightforward ingredients and super clean stores consistently in all the locations I've been. Got the steak burrito with all the fixins, including guacamole, and it was actually REALLY tasty. The steak was juicy and had the nice charbroiled taste, fresh off the grill (and it actually was! ). The corn salsa is my fave topping along with guac. It was pretty fast too. This u district location is a lil ghetto (security guard out front) and lines can get long with all the students so if you have a choice, I'd say go to another location. People who come here expecting a sit down authentic Mexican restaurant need to be smacked in the head. It's obviously fast-type food... and I'm in love! The chunky steak burritos are my first and only choice here... the meat is always marinated to perfection and goes great with the limey cilantro rice and all the other yummy fresh fixin's. Ah, Chipotle. You've never failed not to disappoint me with your food. This is NOT real Mexican food. This is what is called "Fresh-Mex". The food is made right in front of you, you can customize it pretty well. The chain goes out of their way to be socially responsible, which is an added plus. The chicken, beef, and pork are usually very good, as is the rice and the chili-corn salsa. (I don't get beans or green death, so they usually add extra meat or rice) The chips are pretty good too, though they usually need extra salt. For the last time though, this chain is NOT OWNED BY MCDONALDS IN ANYWAY, SHAPE, OR FORM!! McDonalds had a stake in it, and eventually sold their share. Far cry from the people swearing that it was owned by McD's. And even if it was, it wouldn't change the fact that the place (and chain) is really pretty good. The U District one is one of the better ones. Lynnwood is also pretty good. Bellevue is iffy though. read more

If you're looking for a relatively healthy meal that's going to satisfy a day of fasting and you want to pay under $7, make the stop here. Despite its McD's ties, they use fresh ingredients (lettuce, tomatoes, and yes, FRESH GUAC) and have an assortment of add-ons to create a taste that is your own (beef, chix, pulled pork with 3 types of sauce). In defense of Chipotle: I really don't care if this place is a chain, or if they had/have some sort of partnership with McDonald's. I hate McDonald's, too, but in 2007, worrying about this is almost irrelevent when considering a fast food chain. Anyway, it's forehead-smackingly obvious to anyone who's been here that this place is nothing like McDonald's. I was surprised to read so many negative reviews of Chipotle. Everyone I know loves the place, so it was kind of wierd... It makes me wonder if some folks aren't talking about a location other than the U-District. I will admit the new one in Redmond blows. The burritos were still good, but I wanted to punch the supervisor-type who reminded me of a less-funny version of the annoying prick in Office Space (you know, Brian, the "extreme fajitas" guy?). Anyway, this review is based solely on the U-District location, which has yet to disappoint despite maybe 30 or so visits. I've really only gone in the evening and I haven't had to wait much, except a couple times when they were giving out free burritos to UW students (at least I think that what they're doing). I have only ordered burritos with chicken, beef, or carnitas. I'm not usually a creature of habit, but I do get the same burrito everytime. So I have not tried the steak or fajita version. I have not had the soft taco, or the crispy taco, or any guacamole, or the very hottest salsa (but I've heard its good). I haven't tried the lettuce either (because I hate lettuce in my burritos). Despite all this, I think I'm qualified to claim that Chipotle is good without much inaccuracy. The employees are friendly without being cloying or invading your personal space, service is quick, and the burritos are flavorful and delicious and really not that expensive. Don't get me wrong, I will always pick the small business first and I don't doubt that there are other, perhaps better, burritos in Seattle. But for a chain, they're doing it right. Chipotle isn't Starbucks-izing every third corner (there's, what, one in Seattle?). I think they're tastier than Taco Del Mar. And although Taco Bell has its bowel-churning place in every community and I refuse to denounce them, Chipotle doesn't really doesn't have anything in common with them. The food is certainly convenient. The assembly line approach of making their massive burritos make the line move fast even though the many times I've been here, there's been a MASSIVE line. Yes, that means people lining up the moment they step into the door. My order: Sofritas burrito and Chips with salsa. (Also: students get a drink free!) Nevertheless, it's affordable, reasonably healthy and now even has a vegetarian option for burritos with the Sofritas (read as spicy tofu). I'm a fan of both tofu and spicy food, but the spices (particularly the cumin) in this case did not work for me. Texture wise was strange and too crumbly. Chips were on the bland side, not nearly as fresh as I like them. Service was quick though and I felt like the servers knew what they were doing so I got my order and paid in a short enough time. read more

Negatives are 1.it's far from where i live. 2.very crowded 3.those workers work too quickly that i couldn't say "NOT THAT MUCH" to stop her from drenching my burrito bowl with salsa. 4.chips were not fresh 5.Some how the balance of rice, black beans, chicken, salsa(corn,tomato&hot), cheese, guacamole, and lettuce was off. Keep in mind when reading, that I'm reviewing this establishment for what it is. It's not a 5-star restaurant, so it would be silly to give it a negative review because it doesn't match up to one. This is a fast-food/mexican casual restaurant. First of all, I've never been to Chipotle before, but I had an AWESOME experience at this one. The staff is so friendly and so kind, and they served me with smiles on their faces. I can only imagine how difficult that is, given that they have to deal with a bunch of University students all the time. Definitely made me feel like I could come back anytime though. I got a burrito and HOLY SHIT they put in so much food. It's insane! (But I'm not complaining, by any means). I eat at Chipotle all the time. I have the same thing everytime. I have the burrito bowl, with half & half of the beans (black beans and pinto beans), I always have the barbacoa along with the appropriate toppings. The staff is always friendly, and the service is always quick. They always remember you, and the manager is friendly as well. Sometimes the service is a little too quick. They have the toppings on your burrito before you can answer the question if you want a specific item. I guess they teach them that way, but it can be annoying at times. I have a Latin friend who would eat here everyday if possible. He loves the cilantro-lime rice. They always give you a good portion that is plenty. In fact, I ask them to cut it back due to an expanding waistline. I would recommend Chipotle whenever you need a quick tasty meal that will leave you full, but not too full. The food is ALWAYS consistently good and fresh, they are grilling the steak/chicken, making the tasty rice right behind the line where you get your food. Honestly, the most exciting thing I ever observed at this Chipotle was a shooting on the street in view of the windows from Chipotle. Two men were fighting over a backpack in the middle of the street, and one guy pulls out a gun and starts shooting the other guy in the crotch. Everyone in Chipotle ran to the window to watch, I ran the other way to the restrooms. (FYI - they never caught the guy.) I mean, this is the U-District. read more

In general, I do not like chipotle. The food always gives me diarrhea and they've had wayyyy too many E. coli breaks for me to trust them again.
