We're offered a large booth that would have comfortably seated 6 to 8 folks. We both had the 1/3 burger. Any bigger and we would have had wasted leftovers since burgers generally get soggy if left to sit for long. We started our meal with the best fried green tomatoes! We requested that they be cooked a little longer to brown them up! Highly recommend you start a meal with these! You get 8 of them! The burgers are simple. You can dress them up with alacarte items such as red onions, mushrooms, jalapeños etc. Each added item is 25 to 50 cents per add on. Personally, I don't think the burger needs anything extra. Maybe a piece of cheese and that's it. Burger comes with lots off lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and sliced white onions. Again, any additional items are a waste of money! Thought this place was super mediocre. Came with my family and fam friends one night during the superbowl sunday and it was pretty dead. The menu had a lit of options and the employee at the register was really helpful. We ordered alot of food and everything came out on a timely manner. Only my food came out wrong so they had to remake it which took another 5 to 10 ish minutes. I was pretty disappointed with the food tho. Burger was super mediocre just something you could find at a backyard grill party. The poppy seed bun that's supposed to be super popular was meh- Nothing special to me at all. I got a chippy burger with everything on it plus swiss cheese and mushrooms. It sounds good but really just nothing special. Also we got some fries thinking they would be to share since the price was $$ but there was barely a handful and not good at all. There are tons of tables and booths indoors and outdoors with a bar in between. Plenty of TVs around showing sports, etc. You order at the counter and seat yourself. The sodas are via self-help fountain and there are a few iced tea dispensers as well. The menu is pretty massive and ranges from all types of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and plenty of sides such as onion rings, cheese fries, fried green tomatoes, fruit salad, etc. It's great that you can order the burger as a build-your-own by choosing the meat, size, temperature and toppings. Meat choices include beef, bison, and a few others such as chicken and turkey. 1/2 pound and 1/3 pound are available on the typical burgers. We asked for the appetizer and salad to come out before the burgers but they all came at once so the burgers got a bit cold as we ate through the appetizer. 5-2-2022 Last time I ate here was before covid, finally made it back, masks are not required at this time. We enjoyed a late lunch on a Monday, it was not too crowded on this day. Ordered the Turkey burger which was juicy and I had sweet potato fries with side of ranch. Which by the way the ranch is very good. My son had the cheeseburger added chili and a side of tater tots. Both burgers were just as delicious as I remembered. There was one cashier on this day, but since it wasn't busy it worked out. There is a notice by the register informing of the service charge due to consistent rising food costs. $1 for tickets up to $20 and $2 for tickets that exceed $20. I sat on the far corner at one of the outdoor chairs. There were a couple of Caucasian dads whose kids were occupied at one of the outdoor benches. After I ordered a beer, one of the dads started questioning me. First, he asked where I am from. Then, he asked me what I did for a living. He made to mention that I looked liked a doctor. Did he think Southeast Asians are all doctors? As I mentioned previously, several kids were occupied with themselves. A few minutes later, one of the kids approaches me and introduces himself. When the dad repeats my name, he made sure not to introduce himself. At this point, I decided the food here was not worth the inquisition and left after finishing my beer. A very decent place that serves very reasonably priced food in the neighborhood that is dotted with restaurants that can be considered a bit upmarket. While it is an "Old Fashioned Burger" place they do serve salads, sandwiches, etc. The food has flavors and is served hot and fresh. They do have a good bar with a decent selection of draft beer. The service is prompt and the staff is friendly and warm. A Great First Experience at Chip's; We met my family there, and it has a great casual environment and good eats for any individual's appetite. There are Gluten-free options and other menu items besides burgers, like a Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Tenders, and salads. BUT we hit up the classics. Dad had the Hot Dog & Fried Onion Strings, Mom with the Chicken Sandwich on a Gluten-free bun, and I had a 1/2 Burger with Cheddar, caramelized onions, and hickory sauce. Large and yum. My Bride & I have come here since they 1st opened some years back. Service is always great as well as wait time. Have tried their signature burgers as well as my "past" favorite, the Fish & Chips. However, we came tonight after doctors appointment and we're very disappointed in food quality this time- I almost went with a burger, but ordered Fish & Chips and my Bride ordered steak finger basket with mashed potatoes & gravy. Unfortunately, both were bland and mediocre at best - fish seemed to be different than last visit, sweet potato fries and slaw were good. Steak fingers ok and mashed potatoes seemed like powdered potatoes, not very good. Not certain we would be back at this point as Too many other options in Plano-Frisco area. This place is Aaaaaaahhhhh-mazing! When I was walking through their outdoor seating area, it kind of felt like a resort. This place is located on the boardwalk along with other restaurants. When you first walk in, you have the option to sit at the bar on the right, in a booth, or separate chair seating. When you decide what you would like to eat, you go to the cashier and place your order and pay. They will then give you a number and will find you and give you your order when it is ready. When I came here with my family we did not wait long for our 4 burgers, chili cheese fries, and fried tomatillos. (We probably waited 15 min max) They have a large menu above the ordering area just in case you forget to grab a menu on your way in. Their burgers are huge!! First time in Plano. Heard about this place all the way down in Houston. So I made the trip to check it out. OMG! Worth the 240 mile drive! The burger I ordered was the Buffalo and rare. And it actually came rare! So flavorful and delicious on a poppyseed bun! The pickles and onions were crisp. The fries were just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft and tender inside. So tasty I didn't even need ketchup. I had a refreshing glass of iced tea that was absolutely fresh. The ambiance is reminiscent of an old time neighborhood burger joint. They have a fantastic well stocked bar and eating areas inside and out. We strolled the walkway after dinner and enjoyed the fountain and the nice breeze. Me and a friend were craving a good hamburger dripping in toppings and we were not disappointed. The staff was super friendly and helpful having never been here before. Upon entering its like a BBQ joint where you order at the counter and then find a table. The line took FOREVER, 45 minutes to be exact for not that many people (in my eyes it should have been like 10-15) which is why I'm knocking off stars. Went to the boardwalk to take pictures and eat. My friend and I got the western burger with fries (that was special of the day or week.) My friend fries was cold and not freshly made so she was really turned off by her food. We had to ask somebody to remake the sweet potato fries and they came out piping hot. Kinda disappointed that it didn't come out like that the first time. Also we ordered a shake and we had to wait extra long, even after our food arrived, and had to remind them before we actually got it. This is a disgusting restaurant. Every table is filthy nobody's there to take away the garbage and when we tried sitting at the bar, there was empty glasses and sticky residue all over the bar. The bartender was sitting there fixing his hair while playing on the POS, and it took them over 15 minutes to take away the glasses that were sitting at the bar. So we decided rather to eat inside and we ordered and found a reasonably clean table. It was still sticky to the forearms. It's insane how dirty one place can be. For mediocre hamburgers. read more
