We got a 1/2 charcoal broiled chicken meal (salad and rice &beans) and 10 piece spicy chicken wings. I don't know why other reviews say that the wings are not good. Maybe they got the plain flavor? But the spicy isn't spicy. It just had really good seasoning. The wings were fried fresh so it was really crispy and hot when we dug in. I'm on a fairly strict diet and there aren't many places that I can go that are delicious and can accommodate my dietary restrictions. I don't even feel like I'm on a diet when I grub at Chirpin'. Their food is so fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. I recommend the 1/2 chicken meal or the chicken burrito bowl. Occasionally, I will order a whole chicken to go and make sides at home if I'm really trying to save money. The staff are also really friendly and professional. Finally found the BEST place for grilled chicken! After one year in Manhattan moving from London, we British LOVE to eat healthy and prefer grilled chicken. If you're familiar with Nando's, this is the closest, if not on par, with our love for Peri Peri Chicken! I've walked past this place so many times thinking it's one of those fast food, unhealthy joints. It doesn't look particularly appealing from the outside but I decided to give it a go late last night. I ordered the Spicy Grilled Chicken Wings to start. The waitress was really nice to throw in a side of fries too! After the first bite, I was amazed! The best tasting grilled chicken wings in all of Manhattan, by far! I could've walked out after the wings feeling extremely satisfied, but I loved the food so much, I decided to go all in! So I ordered the Spicy Grilled Half Chicken. Again, I was left speechless! Dear Yelpers, my husband and I both got severe food poisoning after bringing home takeout from this location of Chirping Chicken last night. We decided to have a 'splurge' night and ordered chicken fingers, fries, mozzarella sticks and Mac 'n cheese. We immediately felt a little queasy after eating the food, even though everything tasted great. And then less than two hours after consuming the food (we ate/drank nothing else other than water), we were both violently vomiting, having diarrhea (at the same time...what a sight) and experiencing terrible abdominal cramps and chills. I was hospitalized for swine flu back in 2010 while traveling abroad and yet I have never been this sick in my life. By 2 am, we both checked into a local ER and were treated until earlier today. My test results showed that my heart rate had soared, my blood pressure was at a dangerous level (I'm a very healthy, active runner) and my kidneys were placed under a lot of stress. After paying our hospital bill, we are both are home today and medicated, obviously, but my husband - a doctor - had to miss a very important day at the hospital with a few of his intensive care unit patients. I'm sad to write this review, as the staff were super friendly and the joint looked pretty clean. But I advise you all to make another choice for a quick meal. Choose somewhere that is proud to properly take care of their food, and therefore properly take care of their customers. read more
