I came in after seeing a tik tok about their hot chocolate and desserts. It was pretty busy when I stopped in, but it's a smaller restaurant and I didn't mind waiting. There was a woman with blonde hair (I'm assuming this is the owner of the store) yelling about how everyone was replaceable and she would fire everyone if they didn't pick things up. She was yelling at a volume where other guests, including myself, could hear. It was actually insane. I left after that and I plan on never coming back. I don't want to support a business that doesn't treat their employees with kindness and respect. Everyone deserves a healthy work environment. This the one spot in Columbus that I have to stop in once a week at least. The coffee drinks are fantastic and the mocha is my go to. I remember spotting this cafe one evening driving by but put off going because the overall rating is kinda low (for now). My friends wanted to meet for late dessert and not many places are open if you don't want ice cream or want to go to a restaurant. I love this place! I got the giant chocolate chip cookie with a Buckeye and an iced coffee with soy. They warm the treats up for ya and drizzle it with chocolate then also dip your fork in chocolate! Yum! I was chocolate'd out LOL. So good! Coffee was decent and nothing special though. My friends got the brownie, a pumpkin truffle, some type of chocolate cookie bar, hot dark chocolate, and a chai tea with chocolate. Yum! We all loved it! Prices aren't bad. I paid almost $8. The Buckeye was less then a dollar, the cookie was huge and maybe around $4? The cakes are huge and could be split with at least 3 people. They're $10! The inside space was large! But what sucks is the parking lot. Tiny! Could probably fit 8 cars. There's parallel across the street though. The vibe was kinda like a cafe. Brown colors and had kind of an early 2000s feel to it. They do have outside seating too. Service was good. They're young kids who maybe go to OSU. They bring out the dishes to ya but you order at the counter and they give you a number. I did wonder if they have water sitting out somewhere? I needed to wash down the sugar. Maybe water is free? Should've asked. Otherwise, I love it! And I know my mom will want to come and grab some treats! I found it odd that my clothes had a slight smell of fried food when I left. Not sure why? The kitchen is probably at the back. The definition of Chocolate! DoorDashed their Hot Chocolate, Giant chocolate chip and giant Reese cookies. I don't know how a treat could be better. Even with the longer travel for delivery, everything was super fresh! The richness of the hot chocolate reminds me of what it should be like to walk around Christmas lights in the snow on Christmas. The cookies are the epitome of how you felt when you were a little kid waiting for delectable cookies. They are enormous and every bite exudes butter and chocolate-y (and peanut butter!) goodness. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip out to the Chocolate Cafe. Ordering ahead allowed everything to be ready when we got there to carry out the food. The sticker covering the Buckeye shake was a nice touch for travel. We completed it on the way home, passing it back and forth at traffic lights. Adding the Lobster Bisque as a side was a delicious substitution and a great value. I got a luxurious Ruben packed with sauerkraut and meat. The chicken bacon ranch club had an equally sufficient amount of toppings. The salty bag of potato chips complimented the flavors nicely. For dessert a giant cookie that dreams are made of. My friend and I saw this restaurant on TikTok and we knew we had to go! It's a cute little shop with so many options to choose from. You order at the register and then you can be seated if you're dining in. I got the triple grilled cheese and tomato soup, my friend got the black bean burger with side salad, and we shared fondue for two! She also got a thin mint martini and I got a Bailey's hot chocolate. The food was so flavorful and delicious and the fondue platter was packed! I couldn't even finish my hot chocolate because it was so rich. There were more bakery items to choose from as well as truffles, but we were too full to even look at them! I have heard nothing but great reviews about this place. My daughter wanted to go after I told her a friend of mine went. She saw the menu and immediately wanted to have her birthday breakfast there. When you walk in, there Easter decorations up. It's cute little cozy place to have breakfast and lunch. They have a huge selection for drinks and lunch menu. The staff is really friendly and helpful. You order up front then take a number and they bring the food out to you. Food came out quickly and the portion is huge. We couldn't finish it all in one sitting. I'm giving 4 stars, if only for the cheesecake. It's so good. We've been here a few times recently for the cheesecake, Buckeyes and Chocolate dipped Oreos. All are delicious but I have to point out that the Buckeyes really do appear to be home made. I love this place. It is far better in person than from DoorDash. I recommend the frozen hot chocolate and any of the chocolate or cakes. The mushroom soup, when available, is heavenly. This is one of my favorite spots to eat! The food is always fantastic and the menu has a lot of variety. I particularly like the grilled cheese and tomato soup, it's been my go-to for awhile. All the desserts have been yummy too although, a little pricy. However, if the food is good I don't mind paying a little more. I have never had a bad service experience. The staff always seems to be patient and willing to answer any questions you may have about the menu. Also, I asked for a Carmal Macchiato and even though it wasn't on their official drink menu they still made it for me. The environment is very laid back and they even hosted a little baby shower for some co-workers. It's nice to see a business care about the needs of the individual customer. This place isn't huge by any means but, it's great for a quick bite. The parking sucks but, if you do a take out order you wouldn't have to worry about that. I went with a group and we had the Triple Chocolate Cheesecake, the Strawberry Cheesecake and the Mascarpone. If you can appreciate a great slice of cake, you will love the Chocolate Cafe. Expect to pay between $7-$9 for a slice. Order at the counter, lots of young ladies to take your order, then sit down at a table of your choice. They come over with a glass of water while you wait. You pay at the end. They have a display case full of chocolates including my favorite truffles. Prices are about $16-$20 a pound which is a little high but in the ball park for chocolates. Ice cream. giant chocolate chip cookies,candies, pastries, hot chocolate, breakfast wraps, soups and sandwiches etc. are also sold. I like the fact that you have a choice of white, milk or dark chocolates when ordering hot chocolate. There is a small bar in the back so mimosas, margaritas, etc, are served. I never expected that at a Chocolate Cafe. Non-alcoholic beverages are also sold. People sitting at other tables were eating made to order sandwiches which were huge and looked delicious. Lobster bisque seems to be a favorite. I love fondue so I got to back and try their chocolate fondue for two. read more

The Chocolate Café never disappoints!! I've only been to the location that's on Northwest Blvd, and I think they're opening one on High Street in German Village. It might be open now. We came here for a book club meeting after years of me living near the Chocolate Café and managing to never stop by. It isn't quite what I had expected it to be (I somehow had it in my head that it was more of a sit-down kind of restaurant with servers for some reason) but it's more akin to Panera or any other cafe where you order at the counter and they bring your food out. I had to pull their menu up online because I didn't find any physical copies in the cafe. I most definitely can't see the kind of menus they hang behind the registers unless I'm standing right there and squinting because I'm always in a state of losing my glasses. The menu look great, lots of sandwiches and salads. I ended up with the triple grilled cheese and tomato soup, with a dark chocolate mint hot chocolate. The grilled cheese and soup were pretty delicious, and the hot chocolate was to die for. It shouldn't be a surprise that the chocolate cafe's selection of hot chocolates is impressive. Not only do they have a variety of flavors, but you can pick between white, milk, and dark chocolates as your base. The dessert case was amazing, I actually forgot to order a slice of cake to take home but my friends ordered deserts and they were all very impressed. There's a large variety of GIANT cakes to try and a large chocolate display case with several types of truffles and other chocolates to buy. This is a place that'd be great to take kids to, and I most definitely plan on bringing mine next time I go! read more

I went to try their coffee yesterday hearing about the chocolate spoon and seeing their homemade chocolate last time. I decided on the milk chocolate mocha which took them almost 20 minutes to make even though I was the only customer. The girls working are nice, just a little slow and not really into it. I saw them scoop the coffee but would have wanted to taste it more. It was like a good grown up hot chocolate and also only lukewarm. I like my coffee piping hot so I'm not forced to chug it in one sip. Also the chocolate spoon doesn't melt in the coffee like I was hoping so I ended up dunking and licking. Very tasty and great chocolate, just not as fancy as I would have thought. This mocha is perfect for dining in along with one of their chocolaty desserts but if you want an actual coffee and that to go, this just won't cut it. The display case was overwhelmingly full of chocolate items, so I tried a couple! The cookies really stood out to me with the generous amount of toppings. It was soft and big enough to share. The brownie had a cookie crumb type of bottom, but wasn't very fudgy. I did really enjoy the buckeye pretzel and wished I had gotten a couple more.
