Gaslamp is my Wife's favorite hangout spot, and one of her quick stops to bring us for dessert is here in Chocolate SD. We've been here a lot, but we've never had a chance to review this place until now. This Chocolate SD closes late like MIDNIGHT, I think on weekends at 1 . am, so this is also a plus why we like stopping here when we are in Gaslamp. I had their Banana & Nuttela Crepe, while my Wife and Son shared with Strawberry & Chocolate both were well made with lots of chocolate and fruits in it, really a good one, i also had their ice cream but that was gone so quick before i remembered taking a picture of it, they have lots of selections of their ice creme here and they are pretty good. They serve a lot of mostly what u craving for here for light food or heavy to eat like their sandwiches , oh their coffee here and cold drinks are good to have here too. Staff here is always nice, good spot to swing by and hang around, and eat. But it's Gaslamp so you might probably know already it's always hard to find parking.

Ordered two Americano coffees , they were very good . We also had the ham, egg, and cheese crepe, a croissant and some fresh fruit. The food was very good. Only one person was working she wasn't the friendliest but not rude either, maybe just over worked. We sat outside and were approached by homeless a few times for money. Would still return cause the food was so good!

Creme brulee was 10/10 there pastry and creme crepes was a 5/10 not the best I've had. Register person was nice. Place was busy came around 7pm

We only tried the truffles here. They were just ok. Nothing out of the world. It is $2.5 per truffle, which I thought was a little expensive for what we had.

It's not a secret that I love crepes. I ordered two savory crepes from this shop, a chicken and zucchini crepe and a sausage crepe. I would have to say, it was kind of average. However the shop offers an extensive menu of sweet and savory goods. Parking is street an public structure. Service was average. Indoor and outdoor seating. Casual Please come and create your own experience.

We came in on a Monday around 11, the service was very nice and was very patient, they have a lot on their menu and we took a few mins. The service was very quick as well and everything was well worth it and delicious

Had a delicious Affogato here as an afternoon pick-me-up. The lady working the counter was friend. Place has lots of seatings. You can also order food and pastries besides coffee and ice creams.

Cute dessert and coffee spot with a lovely ambience and vibe. Perfect for a casual outing right in the heart of downtown.

I got the 'Vanilla Bean' and the 'Espresso Coffee' gelato (Medium $7 - 2 scoops) and it was very rich and smooth! Getting them together definitely balanced the flavors out and was just the best! It doesn't taste like it has an overload of sugar, or too much of the flavor the gelato has. I then decided to try out the Manicotti (Pasta - $15.00 - Spinach, Ricotta cheese & fresh tomato) and it was absolutely delicious! Service was great and the ladies working there were kind and helpful! Went on a weekend and it does get crowded fast! But it's sooo worth coming here! Especially for the gelato!

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the hype. I ordered the Oreo cheesecake, and it didn't taste like cheesecake at all -- it lacked that rich, creamy cheese flavor you expect. The coffee was weak and totally forgettable. The service was actually very good -- friendly and attentive -- but that's the only highlight. For $32, we got two coffees, one slice of red velvet, and the Oreo cheesecake. Honestly, it felt overpriced for what we received. I won't be coming back. There are better dessert spots in San Diego with stronger coffee and better value.

Amazing gelato!! It really hit the spot after a long night. The girls working the counter were super sweet and fast. It felt worlds away from the craziness of Gaslamp.

Came in here early not knowing what they had but I knew they served coffee. I was staying at one the hotels in Gaslamp and woke up hungry and walked till I found somewhere that served food and hot coffee. I never had an eggs cheese and ham Crepe before so I ordered it and a coffee. They were fast and when I got my food, I was pleased! The coffee was piping hot and the breakfast crepe was delicious. Good alternative to a breakfast burrito lol The crepe was flavorful and held me Up for my next meal. Staff were quick and the eating area was clean. I will definitely be coming back to try one the sweet crepes they serve here. There are so many different kinds to choose from and they have a big selection of gelatos and flavored coffees.

The place is under renovation and it looks like it wil be amazing. The staff was nice and we dipped in for a quick crepe. Wow. It was good. When you are in the Gaslamp this is a place to go. The gelato also looked great. Have to try that next time.

The latte was good, and my friend bought a kitchen sink type cookie with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts. It was warm and gooey good! Another friend tried the gelato and said it was very good. They come up some really creative flavors that you just don't find anywhere else. All of their ice cream is gluten free. Even the waffle cones are gluten free as well. The workers are very pleasant and happy to let you sample the various flavors. I chose the Minky which is a blend of pineapple and coconut. I got my order in a cup which turned out to be a mistake. Both my wife and son got their orders on a cone and it seemed like they got a lot more ice cream than I did even though we all ordered the same size. I apologize for not including pictures but we had our ice cream in the car and in the heat we experienced, I don't believe the pictures would have done the ice cream justice. Very cool concept naming the shop after the business that preceded it. I may need to find a real dry cleaner after spilling drops of melted goodness on my shirt. Staff is SO friendly and patient, explaining all the flavors and what not. The menu is slightly confusing because it's not clear that the top names like "loafer" or "merino" are the flavors and the ingredients are listed below. But the workers were super kind enough to explain and offer samples. I ordered a cone with the Loafer and Ripstop flavor, it was a big cone and they FILL that thing up! You really get a lot of ice cream and they don't skimp. For $9, it's well worth the quantity alone. The cone itself is probably one of the best, if not "the" best waffle cone I've ever had. It was still warm, crispy, fresh, and had an amazing vanilla aroma and flavor. The two flavors were amazing on there own but here's why I just can't give a five star review. As great as the flavors are, they are pretty unique and out-of-ordinary for ice cream shops, so they don't pair too well together. I had initially also tried the merino and that was way too strong to balance with another flavor so I thought the Loafer and Ripstop (which the employee compared to a rocky road) would pair better. The merino has saffron and honeycomb which are pretty distinct flavors and stand out in the ice cream itself without even being paired with another flavor. So that just overpowered the ripstop. HOWEVER - both ice creams had tremendous flavor and they were so stretchy and creamy. The Merino was almost floral while the ripstop was hearty and had big pieces of brownie and marshmallow. Overall, a solidly amazing ice cream place I would happily return to.

Well shoooot I might like Gelato now. Definitely the best Gelato I've had. The line wasnt too crazy…read morewhen we got there (get ~45min before sunset then walk to the park cause after its looooong) and one scooper was moving it along fast while still doing the tour which was appreciated. Downside is the Gelato places around me aren't this good so still deferring to ice cream. Shout out to the random person on the bus that randomly found us approachable to start talking about all his fav food places and recommended this place (along with some others that held up). Ill call him the 101 foodie. Also they dont make hats from what I saw but they do have ones you can try on while in line once inside.

This place is super super cute and is by the same people as An's Dry Cleaning and An's Electronics!…read moreI absolutely love that they have their flavor tour which is where they give you a sample of every flavor they have. They also have very unique flavors and change it up every few weeks. My favorite flavor they had was when they had their Matcha collab with Paru Tea, and I believe they still bring the matcha flavor back sometimes! They definitely get really busy on the weekends (1-2 hour wait) so I recommend going on a weekday where I only had to wait 10 minutes! The pricing is a little pricy, but not too bad, especially for the quality and service they provide! I also definitely recommend going to their other stores too as they are all different themes. Free 1 hour parking garage!
