popped in here with my bf after a private party at fluxx. i needed a crepe fix to balance out the booze vs food levels in my stomach. the ham, egg and cheese crepe was a fairly large serving and so it was a perfect pre-hangover cure. i wished that the crepe was a tad more crispy and had just one more egg given it's size. (for a total of 3 instead of 2 eggs) a rather large group of tourists came in after us to sample all of the flavors of gelato so we decided to avoid the line and headed back home. reading the yelp reviews though...we might have to come back to test them out for ourselves now that the weather is warming up nicely. read more

Love, love, love the crepes and the gelatos. Pistachio, stracciatella, hazelnut are standbys. There's also a rum and pistachio drink which is luxurious. The spicy chocolate gelato is quite good but more appropriate for diehard chocolate lovers. The cold gelato matched with a fresh hot crepe is not to be missed! read more

I stopped in here the other day for a quick lunch and ordered a panini that was all bread with barely anything in it. The sandwich came with some olives and I think the olives were more satisfying then the sandwich. I did like the decor of the place though, lots of tables and stools with cowprint. The gelato did look really good, but I passed on that since I was trying to be good that day. This is a cute place for a date night and has everything from wine, food, cheese, desserts and GELATO! I came as a double date and ordered the gelato which was good, but than again how can you really make gelato wrong? My sister and her bf orderd a pizza which was good but not anything to write home about. It was one of those pizzas you eat and don't remember. Downside to this place is the Parking. It's all about the gelato. They let you sample as much as you want beforehand, so why not? Stop on by- the stuff's as expensive as liquid gold but once you start your sampling you're sure to buy something. it hooks me everytime. Wow!! Considering I had a mandatory "Gelato a Day" rule in Italy this past June, I figured it would be difficult for me to come back to the Gelato interpretations in the states. On a fairly quiet night, where there were little guests, my wife and I had to wait over 20 minutes for two crepes to go. The restaurant messed up several orders and didn't apologize for their delay. To think I even signed for a 20% tip before receiving the order. They are unorganized, chaotic workflow, and are pretentious. Additionally, they are overpriced especially when crepes take no time to make. If you want real crepes and not that phoney rubbish, then go to Quebec. It actually got me thinking about opening an authentic Quebec style joint next door. Hmm. And here's one last tip for y'all, DO NOT sign any credit card receipt until your order is ready. I love this place! No RSVP needed, and the price is right! I've been coming in every other week(end) to eat some Savory crepes or Flat breads for a quick light gourmet meal. It's good to come with friends and people watch by the window while you wait for your food. Based on what I can tell, I think they have an unwelcome guest today (insect/roach) that the girl behind the counter was trying to avoid. The gelato at this place is pretty amazing, and I've had a lot of gelato in my life. Previous to this place I was quite the gelato snob, because honestly what they call gelato in the US is not what they have in Italy. Having heard that a gelato chain from Milan was coming into town, I knew I had to try it. I have to say, the gelato is so creamy and delicious and shoots me right back to Italy. My complaint though are the prices and the serving size. Five dollars for tiny scoops and a large to go container is a jaw dropping $25!!!! Seriously, $25 bucks... what are they thinking? I would list all my favorite flavors, but honestly there are too many! It is whatever strikes my mood that day, I don't think you can go wrong. Bf and I are always in search for coffee when we're at a different place. We were walking down the street from our hotel and noticed the Chocolat Creamerie. After walking up the street we walked back down to check out the adorable creamery. My bf, who actually opened up a gelato shop in China and worked with Italian gelato experts, could already tell the gelato was in excellent quality. When he asked about the gelato, the guy said they have an Italian expert create their gelatos every day. That was confirmation right there. I got the rum raisin and coffee on a cone. (gotta have it on a cone) The bf got the pistachio and cookies and cream (i think). He also got a coffee as well. He was thoroughly impressed by the coffee and gelato. They also have an extensive menu and when I mentioned they have mozzarella sampler platters my bf knew we had to come back and try more of their specialties. We also loved the adorable decorations and you can tell they put a lot of care and thought into the shop. Must come back for more! read more

Came here during a night on the town with some of my girlfriends. I got the chocolate hazelnut gelato with a plain crepe and I was totally not disappointed at all. The crepe was incredibly soft and warm and the texture was perfect. One of the better crepes I've had and I've had plenty (even in France). The service was fast and friendly. The gentlemen working the counter and delivering the food to the tables were easy on the eyes too, if you know what I'm sayin ;) The servers even read our minds and brought out cups of water without us having to get up and ask. Worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. This was our first visit and last here. We came in and all we got was attitude by Michael. I don't know if he is the owner but he was extremely rude. My wife asked for a few samples and immediately treated as if we were not going to purchase anything. We ended up ordering the Banana and Nutella Crepe, Nutella crepes with milk chocolate gelato , and a peanut butter gelato. The crepes were terrible and rubbery. After we got our crepes, Michael straight told us "He doesn't have to be nice" he doesn't need to do that to work here". Avoid this place. I wish we never spent $28.51 here. read more

Walking down the Gaslamp strip and saw a sign "Espresso" so we went in and although I can't have gelato I must say they have some beautiful creations. My boyfriend got the Amareto gelato and I quote "I'm never having ice cream or fro yo again" He fell in love. We also got 2 dark chocolat truffles the strawberry basalmic, and mint they were gorgeous and tastey. Their espresso options for vegans was less than they do have soy milk, but no flavors or anything. So I took my latte straight. Overall pretty nice. I would love to come back for a meal, because their menu was massive. 6 different Bruchettes my type of place. I will be back. read more

Yes, Yes, YES! I would, in fact, drive to San Diego to get their gelato. Yes I would. It's THAT friggin good. You don't like gelato, you say? It's all perspective: clearly you've not had THIS gelato or you'd like it. No more nah-saying- this gelato is a game changer. The Peanut Butter is my absolute favorite, second the chocolate hazelnut, then maybe the chocolate chili, and then perhaps the mint chip... I could go on. This location didn't have P.B., the one in Hillcrest does/did. No, I'm not from San Diego. Yes, I do know both locations. Must have Chocolat gelato! The guy at the Gaslamp location said Hillcrest generally has better flavors, or at least changes them more often. We also had a crepe and a salad here. I liked the salad. The caesar was pretty good. My friend said the crepe was dry and they refused to add any sauce to the top without charging her. Sort of odd, considering it was dry, but whatever. The bruschetta with tomatoes was also tasty, though we sort of over ordered. In any case, you come for the gelato. You eat the gelato. You will like the gelato. read more

The people behind the counter are more than willing to give you samples and if it is your first time then I'm sure you'll take them up on that offer. Although it is a little pricey, its very good. I came here with some local friends and it was worth the walk from their place. I shared a sandwhich and even had a crepe for my sweet tooth. By the time we were done I was satisfied & full. So i guess I'm just really not into the whole gelato/chocolate shop idea. The gelato is delicious stuff don't get me wrong. But how in the world are people spending 2.25 on a 1/2 inch piece of chocolate. Is it really that good? I tried Chuao's chocolates are they were not what i wanted in a chocolate at all...so i wasn't about to spend 2.25 on a small a** piece of candy that i probably wouldn't have liked anyway. I LOVE that this place is open late. Its in the heard of downtown, where all the clubs are and its a bright hip little shop. They serve crepes and coffee drinks, and a few other little things like sandwiches. They have a pastry case next to their gelato case's but everything in there is WAY over priced and looks kind of dry and dull. The gelato is VERY VERY good though. My boyfriend got mint chocolate and i got Stratchella. His mint chocolate was soo rich and soo minty and dark, it was extraordinary, there were little hints of chocolate or mint slivers in it but right when you found one in the Gelato it immediately dissolved on your tongue. My Stratchella, which is BASICALLY (not exactly) vanilla with chocolate pieces, was also very good. The flavor wasn't as powerful as my boys mint chocolate but that's a good thing. It was a nice lite gelato with great flavor. For two small cups it was about 8.25 Which is kinda ridiculous. But they do pack those little cups to their maximum capacity. read more
