I'm a huge Chopt fan and I eat Chopt weekly, but this location is terrible and doesn't represent Chopt well. Not only are they consistently understaffed and unenthused but my last visit was particularly bad. I ordered my salad in a wrap, and watched as two of the employees attempted to clean the grill with plastic forks. When one of the forks melted because plastic melts when applied to a hot grill, the employees proceeded to try another plastic fork before using this grill to heat my wrap. Hopefully I didn't ingest any of the toxic chemicals. The person who put my wrap together ripped the wrap but kept moving along anyway and didn't seem the least bit concerned. If you like chopt as I do, avoid this location because it'll ruin chopt for you. read more

Food is great, but please hire more competent employees. I asked what bread they use for the salad sandwich. After they told me it's a wrap I asked for "just a regular salad". The guy ended up making it a wrap anyway and after I informed them that it was supposed to be a salad, a different guy asked "are you sure? I live in the area and finally decided to try this location out after consuming more than enough sweetgreen lately. I chose to make my own salad, and I'm quite disappointed because there are bits of hot pepper in my salad that I did not ask for. Multiple bites contain the hot pepper, which is nothing along the lines of what is part of my salad. Also a risky move for people with allergies. Additionally, when it came to the dressing the employee started putting dressing on my salad before she asked how much of it I wanted. Therefore, there was already too much on before I could respond. Not ideal, especially for 'make my own' salad. On another note, I've had pre-created salads from other locations in the past and enjoyed them. Would love to give it no stars, but can't. I ordered the Palm Beach w/ chicken and white balsamic dressing. The chicken amount was minuscule and over all tasted fishy which is odd because I don't think they have any fish on the menu (maybe the creamy caesar dressing has anchovies). I was looking forward to trying this New York salad staple. I walked in with high hopes, and I liked how all the ingredients were chopped up and mixed evenly. I ordered the Santa Fe, which sounded delicious at first glance. Ordering the salad was a different story, as there was WAY too much pepper jack cheese. It overpowered every bite and reminded me how unhealthy it was despite being a "salad." Secondly, it was mostly romaine and cheese with just a small portion of the other add ons (tomatoes, avocado). It came out to be a terrible value because nothing on the menu is under $10. Even the whole wheat bread they offered me was flavorless and unimpressive. On top of it all, the reviews are correct regarding the staff--they seemed very apathetic and mumbled at me. Seriously, what is wrong with the staff at this location. They are all so rude and seem like they hate their jobs. Every single time I order ahead with the Level up app, my salad is NEVER ready when I arrive and I have to wait at least 20 mins for them to make it...like they aren't even checking to see if an order came in...and it's the weekend...and no one is in the store! The Mexican Cesar salad is too die for. They chop it up very well and their Mexican dressing is great. The bad thing about this place is that they changed up the bread. It use to a nice artisanal piece but not it's this hard bread and only one slice. I wish they could change it back. read more

This Chopt salad bar had a pretty interesting interior, where most of the artwork or should I called Ad-work illustrate the various beautiful origin of the source of their food. As I stepped in to placed the order, the staff took a decent sized clear salad bowl (I think all sizes are equal there) and quickly grabbed all the necessary ingredients that made up the Sante Fe salad. She told me to line up in front of another assembly line style staff where he chopped my salad manually with a U shaped knife. Then I was inquired of my dressing, which I told him "buttermilk ranch dressing" please. He then took out a mixing bowl and start shoveling the chopped veggies onto this bowl to mix the dressing with the salad. Finally, the salad came out that was fresh, mixed thoroughly with the dressing, overall, it was very satisfying (just to watch). The salad came out pretty good so I will probably come back again in the future since their destination salad that had a theme on Vietnam looks pretty tempting. read more

This place has so much more potential. The salads are 'pretty good' but not impressive. Some of their ingredients are good (like cauliflower rice, avocado, etc). However, I had to ask for more cauliflower rice as the lady only gave me a measly scoop. I would like to see healthier items on their menu. The menu is also a little confusing for someone who had not been there previously (what's a salad bowl vs a salad?) Love this spot. Fresh, delicious options for whatever you fancy in your salads. Service is fast and friendly. This space is particularly great: the floor to (high) ceiling windows fill it with natural light, the decor is cool and simple, reggae soundtrack inspires a mellow pace distinct from the one just outside the windows, and the corner location near Astor Pl offers good people watching. Only issue is the limited seating. Although tables turn over fairly quickly, they aren't cleaned quickly in the high traffic times. We love this spot, nonetheless. read more

I've been addicted to Chicken Tinga salad lately and wanted to write my positive experience at this location. I love the decor, feels very airy and clean. The extra attention they put into chopping the veggies real fine makes it a enjoyable experience . I'm not a salad person and usually go for non salad foods. Honestly, I'm having a better experience at ChopT than Sweet Greens. Every time my sister and I eat from Sweet Greens we get bloated and gassy. Maybe ChopT's extra attention to chopping the salads makes it digestible? Haven't gotten sick yet and I have a sensitive tummy. Keep up the good work! Omg they are definitely redoing chopts brand !!! It is sooooo different ! I used to go to the chopt in Nolita a while ago until the quality was bad and the food was gross!!! Now they have redone chopt to be like sweet green!!! So exiting and they even have the good fresh drinks and service ! I was sooo over chopts lack of quality control and gross salads too! Chopt is one of my favorite salad places because their sauces are so good! My favorite is the Mexican caesar with the mexican caesar dressing or the mexican goddess. I also really like the braised chicken tinga if I'm in the mood for something warm rather than a cold salad. Overall, I really like Chopt and this location is nice! read more

asked my boyfriend if he wanted sweetgreen or chopt. he chose chopt and i had no problem with this because i love their fried chicken! we went to chopt and was greeted by horrible staff members, who were throwing things everywhere, wouldn't make eye contact with me or properly answer my questions. paid $32 for 2 salads and 2 fountain drinks, went to pour a fountain drink and almost threw up looking at the mold inside the drink dispensers. looked around at the 4 other tables eating here and all had water cups. it's weird because this chopt has newer branding and is much larger than most. needs new management ASAP!!!!! read more

Some of the employees can really use a new hospitality training. Chopping is tiring and I completely understand that. But not being responsive to customers and flat out appearing pissed are not acceptable. Upon personalized requests at the chopping station such as additional salt&pepper, fresh lime/lemon, dressing on the side, etc, a number of choppers don't respond at all while executing the requests, leaving the customers to feel uncomfortable for having to burden the choppers. I often leave the place feeling unwelcome and uneasy, even though I am paying the full price of their products. read more

The absolute worst delivery experience I've ever had the displeasure of going through. I wasn't able to place my order online(good thing given the outcome) and decided to call directly to place my order over the phone. Not only was I put on hold twice during the call, but I had to repeat myself multiple times. More than an hour goes by and I still didn't have any food so I waited a few minutes more and decided to call them to inquire. Again I was put on hold and had to speak to multiple people. The first of which had said the food was delivered to the security guard- I don't have a security guard- and I was then convinced they went to the wrong address. I was then told, by a different person, that they couldn't find my order. I was put on the the phone with the delivery person, who rambled off two names(neither of which were mine) and then put on hold again. I was then put on the phone with someone claiming to be a manager and told they couldn't find my order because it wasn't prepared which was bothersome because I was charged for the food. The manager then put me on hold again, and came back on the phone to take my order, and have me repeat my address again. At the very least she refunded my money and comped me a salad, but unfortunately their idea of comping something also means skimping. To add to it all, their delivery guy also doesn't carry change, so watch out for him trying to manipulate a big tip out of you. Ive gotten chopped a few times and their salads are tasty, as well as healthy, but the level of incompetence in that place is too frustrating for me to ever attempt delivery again.
