This restaurant is great. You can't beat the value. Whether you are a family of two or family of 20 seating is wonderful and easy to navigate. Their food is always hot and fresh and you can enjoy everything from sushi to stirfry. The only thing I would work on is there desserts. They're pre-frozen cakes and not very good. Monday night I met a friend for dinner at Chow Time Grill and Buffet. This was my third visit to the establishment and I was really looking forward to it until I witnessed a family feeding their DOG from a spoon at their table. When I summoned the manager I was very annoyed when he replied that the DOG was a service dog so there was nothing they could do. GUESS WHO WON'T BE VISITING THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN!!!! Pricing is decent and on the relatively cheaper side. Decent amount of options to choose from. Their sushi is ok and still edible to where I feel like I won't get sick after. Have the typical Americanized options such as sesame/kung pao chicken, beef & broccoli, and coconut shrimp. Their dessert options suck. I also found their grilling and serving steaks when I went on a Sunday night so that's good for meat lovers. Server was attentive and picked up our plates promptly. Buffet was not the cleanest. The food was pretty decent. I have been to numerous buffets. Quality was decent, nothing extraordinary. Taste-wise was decent as-well. Sushi was not warm or lukewarm which was good, it was cold as it should be especially the sashimi. This could've been one more star BUT the waitress in my face said I needed to put a higher tip. Was going to give it two stars, but everyone I went to eat with woke up barfing after eating here. We love Chinese buffets, but this place is not it. There's a ton of options but none were good enough to go back for seconds. Hibachi is probably the best part of the buffet, but we had a hard time communicating with the cook to get the sauces we wanted. The sushi bar was empty pretty much the entire time we were there. When they finally put out a few rolls, they went quick. I tried a few pieces and was not impressed at all. The servers watch you like a hawk and will charge you if you don't finish your plate, which sucks when the food doesn't taste good and you don't want to eat it. Bathrooms were very dirty, floors were wet and slippery around the buffet bars, in the restroom, and in the hallway to the restroom. Would give 0 stars if I could. We will never be back. read more

On my Quest to support Local Businesses during the Pandemic, we decided to go to Chow Time in Tamarac. Chow Time is a Buffett Style Restaurant. You walk in, and get greeted nicely. Once you have been "escorted" to your Table the Employee handed us Gloves to handle the Plate / Food Tongues and took our Drink order. We proceeded to the Food Area and have been flashed. Included in the Price is not only prepared food but also you can get raw ingredients and have them cooked to order by one of the chefs. Our Kids loved the Chinese Noodles they prepared and my son (he is 6) alone went three times... What I really like is that there is signs all over the place that tell you that you get charged per pound of "wasted food" if you pick more than you can eat. This is to keep they're prices relativley low. The Price is also the point where I say it's only 4 out of 5 stars. I understand we are in a pandemic, but it seems that prices fluctuate by day. We , for a Family of four, paid around $60 for all. Yes, we would have paid the same price in a restaurant, but there I also would pay for the service to not get my own food. definition of mid, not in a bad way but it's perfect for the late night when you need to feed a family quickly at night. lemonade was good, chicken was mostly good but the bourbon chicken was a bit burnt, a lot of the meat was dry, especially the pork. ice cream was good, the other desserts were also good, seemed clean, staff was nice and the bathrooms were a bit dirty with gaps in the stalls that i wish were smaller. i think i like the kings super buffet or whatever it's called better that's about half an hour away from here a bit better read more

When we walked in we asked for a bigger table. After the lady gave us a new table she informed me I can't use the one next to me. I told her we were two separate families but she sounded like she didn't like the idea. After we ate she made a rude comment saying "I told you not to sit there" disrespectful so I didn't move. She even made the customers sit down at the table she informed us not to use. They were kind and asked for a different table. But the short hair lady looked at me rude, I had to speak to the manager and when he asked me who it was I pointed to her but she kept ignoring me so I had to speak louder to get her attention where things got ugly. It is good value and there is a good variety of choices in the buffet and Teppanyaki. Overall I would recomended if you are in the area. Personally I like MIYAKO buffet much better. The ambiance is ok although it could be cleaner. They do carter to large groups and families, so is family friendly restaurant. Talk about big buffets, Chow Time Grill & Buffet is huge. Matter of fact, the biggest I've ever seen. Though listed and generally referred to as Chinese, there is more to it than that. It has Chinese offerings though very Americanized or in a common culinary term, it's "New York Style Chinese." However, it also has rather Americanized Japanese menu offering with a hibachi (in Japanese "fire bowl") set up and sushi offerings along with the totally American California and Philadelphia rolls. Then there is what I would call American food offerings of roast beer, fried chicken, fried catfish, honey ham and barbequed ribs. Then on offerings rather difficult to categorize are seafood items such as clams, mussels, oysters and salmon. So, there is a lot of food and at prices of about $20.00 including tip, a steal of a bargain. I've had sampling of just about everything they have and have had no problem with freshness, general taste and quality. Overall, though certainly not gourmet, the food is pretty good and for a Chinese Buffet one of those rare Yelp times that I can go above Two Stars as a rating. read more

My family took me out on my birthday here . I have been here before. They are now having you pay for 3 years old and tips included on your bill . They didn't give us our receipt back after I paid with cash.When my change came back with my receipt. I asked for it back. They wanted me to tip on top when it was already included . Food was cold the waiter was sleeping in the chair we had to call her over for refill s and questions about my grandson not eating so they told me if he touched anything food they will charge us . The food at Chow Time is always cold and there warming system is absolutely deplorable. The only time that the food will be hot is when it first comes out of you are lucky and fortunate to time it out perfectly. The soup however is at a perfect temperature and seems very hot as soup should be. What I find annoying is that they do not provide duck sauce openly and it is in Individual packets. Absolutely ridiculous. The Sushi is absolutely terrific but the Deserts are disgusting. This restaurant needs to find a way to improve their warming system as soon as possible. This place is HUGE!! I normally do not go to buffets because I have a small stomach and I can never eat my money's worth, however, the prices at Chow Time are pretty acceptable - ranging from $11-15 per person depending on the day of the week. Our group of 4 came in on a Sunday afternoon 10 minutes after they opened. Everything was fresh out of the kitchen and it wasn't busy at all. There is a very diverse selection of food from Chinese to Korean, Japanese, American (even southern comfort) and you can also do hot noodle soup or hibachi style cooking. You choose your ingredients at that section and bring it to the back where a staff will cook it for you. I made a hibachi steak plate with onions, mushrooms and some noodles. The ingredients were fresh. You have 6 sauce choices. The cooking came out pretty good. Saucy but because the veggies were timed the same as the steak, the meat was a bit too well done for me. My friend had a noodle soup but said it was a little bland. They also have soups and a full salad bar. There's cold shrimps and oysters. There's also a meat carving station. I tried some sushi pieces. My favorite was the giant avocado and crab delight roll. It was very refreshing. Their crawfish was pretty flavorful. The stir fry green beans were delicious. I loved the black bean clams. I watched the table next to us only go for the fried crab....they cleaned house. Every time more came out they got more....8 plates later I think the restaurant ran out of crab! The desserts were mediocre but the ice cream was alright. What I noticed was that the employees non-stop hustled throughout the entire restaurant. I'm not sure who exactly was my server, but I was never without someone taking away a dirty plate or hurriedly refilling my drink at the point when it was midway empty. It never got to the empty point which you have to appreciate. Ok, so the big thing obviously is the food, right? First and foremost when you come to a Chinese buffet you're always bummed because the food is, at best, lukewarm. Here is definitely not the case. I've never seen so many items fresh, hot, and with steam rolling off of them. I ate so much here merely because the items were not room temperature. Everything being freshly-cooked makes this place amazing to me. They've got their food broken down into islands with stations like : hibachi, premium salad, Asian cuisine, and more. Honestly there were probably 8 sections if memory serves me correctly and all your standard favorites of Cantonese-Chinese food were there so don't fret. At $7.99 for lunch you cannot beat it here. This buffet is pretty grand! The entrance was pretty awesome with two Chinese statues. Once we got in, we were sat and placed our drink orders. The prices were pretty cheap for dinner, about $12 and change. There was a huge selection of food. They had a hibachi and noodle station. The sushi station was okay, there weren't too much of a selection. However, this is more of a Chinese buffet not a sushi buffet. They had a wide variety of American food too; fries, wings, steak, etc. as for the Chinese portion, they had good crab rangoons, fried rice, mayo chicken, honey chicken, pineapple chicken, general tsao, fried whole fish, lo mein, and so much more. Their dessert section was pretty good too; they had a chocolate fountain with marshmallows, fruits, and ice cream. The servers were pretty good about clearing the plates and filling our waters. I thought to myself that there must be a lot of special items that were not available at lunch to warrant such a large increase in price. The answer is, not really. The seafood is upgraded (collossal Cajun shrimp). A delicious sweet shrimp dish is added. Spare ribs are available. I noticed crab claws. Before leaving, I saw that something that was labeled "steak" was added to the buffet. The variety of items - excellent from Japanese, Korean, American, Chinese and different styles Hibachi, fried stuff, sushi, desserts (ohh la la), soups and salads. Food is a little better than the less expensive buffets, but the only gripe I have is that they need to clean buffet surfaces more often, and change out the utensils every half hour or so!! I went up to buffet and when I grabbed the tongs they were AWFUL- sticky and one was slimy!! Also, bathrooms should be tended to more frequently- there were 2 un flushed toilets, waste basket over flowing and floor was filthy with toilet paper and pee on floor- I understand that people can be TOTAL SLOBS, but bathrooms should be CLEAN at all times!! There are two reasons I'm giving 2 stars and that is the hibachi option and the ambience/decor that is somewhat more upscale than other all-you-can-eat buffets. That said, the selection of food was far less than suggested by both the reviews and their website, everything was swimming in oil (no healthy options), minimal fruit and desserts, and honestly--the biggest turnoff was the dirty tongs used to pick up the various sushi assortment. Most of the food was also mislabeled so there was no way to know what you were choosing. Many of the staff were unfriendly--except the waitstaff, all of whom were very sweet. No idea how this place has 3.3 stars. I think my 2 stars are even a stretch. read more

This place is quite busy and the other families are packed in tightly in one of about 5 dining rooms. Not all these families are courteous and you have to wonder why they feel the need to get aggressive since the food in plentiful and turned over quickly. You also have to wonder why they allow small children to go it alone and without manners. The restaurant offers many different areas including a middle bar and hibachi area. They have salads, sushi, and many dishes in which most are hot and turned over quite frequently. The raw bar offered peel and eat shrimp, oysters and mussels.
