This is more of a 3.5 star review for me. I wanted to get something for my little ones to eat later in the day and this place seems good. Its very similar to panda express but cheaper. We ended up getting the honey walnut shrimp with pancit and rice. I also got a siaopao as well. Everything was good. I really like how soft the siaopao is. Overall pretty decent and price was good as well. They had some issues with ringing me up for some reason so It took a while. The lady was pretty nice though and they acted more casually like I'm someone they know rather than a customer. It wasn't too busy. They have a large dining area but it was pretty empty since a lot was doing takeout. read more

Great food and great service. It's always nice to get some good Filipino food. It reminds me of home.

It's been a while since we've eaten or ordered food from here. We ordered two of the bundle feasts: one with pancit and siomai and another with pancit and fried chicken. Everything was flavorful. It also didn't take too long for our order to be ready. The bundles are good for family dinners especially when you don't wanna cook for a lot of people. The only thing I wasn't super happy about is they forgot to give us sweet and sour sauce for the chicken. read more

The Ube Taho is to die for!!! Absolutely delightful! Combining the traditional taho with our famous ube is very creative.

I only come to Chow King for two things: the siopao and the halo-halo--so this review is just for those! The siopao is always on point. My family from Hawaii even stops by just to stock up on the frozen ones to take home, which says a lot. Consistently tasty and satisfying. I only recently tried their halo-halo, and honestly, it might be one of my favorites. I love that it comes with a little flan on top, a generous scoop of ube ice cream, and even has boba--which I know isn't traditional, but I really enjoy it, so I might be a little biased there. Big mistake to think it would be close to what I tried when I was traveling in Manila. First off, apparently I was not clear when I placed my order. I asked for the combo of Beef Noodle and Siopao. When I picked up my order, I asked for my drink cup and she said, I didn't order a drink. Hmmmm, but I ordered a combo. I love that it's located at Westfield South Center Mall. Plenty of parking and easy to find right where Seafood City and Jollibee are. Plenty of seating available but it can get pretty busy during peak meal times. When that noodle or dim sum craving hits. This is a great place. It's fast, convenient, and delicious. Great place for breakfast or a midday snack. Noodles were tasty, siopao (steamed buns with assorted filling) were tasty. Prices were reasonable. This place is located in South Center Mall across from Jollibee. They have a pretty interesting menu with a range of Asian food. I was curious and wanted to try some of their baos. This is a limited review. I've been to Chowking several times, and the only thing I have ever ordered is Halo Halo. Today I also ordered the Calamansi Jasmine Tea. This is one of the few places that has a Halo Halo so we come here when we have a craving. The ice can be overly chunky. The rest of the ingredients are reasonable, the typical jellies, a small square of custard, and topped with a mini scoop of ube ice cream. Nothing fancy but it's enough to quench a sweet tooth. The Calamansi Jasmine Tea was a curiously tasty combination; it's exactly as it sounds. I do recommend this over sodas. The food has never looked appetizing enough to consider. I might order the siopao, but absolutely nothing else. I'll never understand why the wait is so long and slow. Two Halo Halo and a drink was at least 15 minute wait, if not 20 minutes. Insane. These two items might be 3 Stars, with the wait, it's 2 Stars, reducing by a full star. read more

The restaurant was located in the mall, and the parking wasn't so bad. It wasn't busy either, so that could've played a big factor. The restaurant was very clean & gave that Filipino restaurant feeling right from the jump. We ordered the fried chicken plate & it came with Lumpia & pancit. The lumpia was pretty good. The chicken was the star of the dish, as it was a little too greasy for my liking but it was juicy! The shopao was so yummy, I'd definitely try the others too. The halo-halo was so tempting. The siomai I got m was really disappointing. The meat tasted off, almost like it was going bad. So it all went to waste.

For what we were looking for this was fine. We tried Grill City first but their breakfast stop serving at 10am and these guys served till 11am. We went with the two entree breakfast Longanisa Bangus (Pork Sausage & Milkfish. Eggs could have been a little less hard but the longanisa and fish were tasty. Mediocre food, but it's cheap. My auntie loves this place and the last time I saw her in the Philippines she mentioned that I had to try Chowking at least once, since it's a Filipino favorite. I never made it to one in the PI, but since I was around Southcenter for work, I decided to finally check out what auntie was talking about. Located near Seafood City, I imagine this is a familiar spot for many Filipinos who frequent this part of Southcenter Mall. Chowking wasn't busy at all the day I visited, with just a few people dining inside. I didn't know much about Chowking, but knew it was a Filipino chain, serving Chinese food. Once I was at the counter I saw that the entire menu has items for less than 10 bucks, with many featured as a five-dollar meal special, including the one I got, which came with a piece of fried chicken, noodles and fried rice. My meal was lackluster, but hey, it was only five bucks. The chicken was greasy, but it was juicy and flavorful. I'll give ya that. It wasn't bad. However, the rice was bland AF. But the noodles were worse, as they were super greasy and just tasted oily over anything else. At least add some salt and pepper to the noods! I'd rather eat at Jollibee across the way, which I'm not a huge fan of in general. Therefore, I won't be coming back to Chowking. Sorry, auntie! read more

Stopped by here today since I was shopping at Westfield. Was looking for a quick grab to eat. Since the line for Jolibee's was way too long so came to Chowking instead. I had been here a couple of times already. Food are decent nothing really special about them. Today there was a special saver for $5! That caught my attention lol. They have couple of entrees to pick and choose from. I decided to get Chinese Fried Chicken with Rice. Got my order pretty fast even they are pretty busy as well. It was a good portion for snack before dinner. I feel like they should change the "Chinese Fried Chicken" name to just fried chicken lol. I mean it don't have the taste of Chinese cuisine. I finished it still but the chicken was a little over fried, plain, and greasy. Good thing is they us a little container for the sweet chili sauce. That make taste a little better. Overall, I would come back here again if the other food court places are too busy. Forget to mention that they use to have very good Taro slushe/smoothie, but they don't have it anymore. I was aware there was going to be a wait but I was not expecting disorganization and rudeness. Surprisingly, it only took us 20 min in line to place our order but to just wait for our food took about an hour. When I placed my order, the girl at the cashier told me they would call my name when my order's ready. Well they were calling out names...and they also decided to call out ticket and order numbers as well. At one point they called my number (166) and I was turned away by a young boy (who I'm assuming was a manager). They were claiming they never called it. That's not my job ask her," pointing to the lady next to him. Wow and he even refused to ask her for me and it didn't help there were antsy people next to me. Good thing another manager came because she was a lot more helpful. Heck she even said that they called my order earlier. WTH!? Oh and my order was missing halo halo. When I asked the lady about it, the boy insisted that I already got halo halo. Yeah that put me in a pretty bad mood. I am not the type to lie about that kind of stuff either! But finally he got my halo halo and he basically just slammed it on the counter. Anyways, so I ordered their 2 piece fried chicken with a side of spaghetti, palabok and a halo halo. Their fried chicken was alright but to wait that long for it was not worth the wait at all. I felt it was missing some spices. The spaghetti made up for the chicken though. It was sweet and I loved how there were hot dogs in it. I personally was not a fan of the palabok. It was bland but at least they were generous with the chitcharon (crushed pork rind) topping. My favorite part of my meal was definitely the halo halo. I loved that there was a lot of jackfruit, jello cubes, corn and leche flan. Overall, if I would have known the food and service was gonna be like this, I would have waited a few more months to check this place out. If you were planning to check it out, don't bother. Finally came here on a weekday evening with no lines! Its located in the now Filipino zone of the Southcenter Mall with Jollibee, Tokyo Tokyo, Red Ribbon and Seafood City neighboring. Serving a variety of filipino food like boneless bangus (marinated milkfish), filipino style breakfast (tocino and garlic rice), ramen-like soups, fried chicken etc... as you can see, filipino cuisine is somtimes a mixed bag of things! Anyhow, I went with the special beef noodle soup with wontons. Fairly tasty and cheap. With so many filipino options in the area, if I want something really authentic I would hit the Seafood City/Grill City line. But, not a bad option when in the filipino enclave down at Southcenter! read more
