As part of our Beacon Hill jaunt for dim sum, we stopped by for some takeout. We got some sticky rice, har gow, siu mai and my favorite, fun guo. I was tempted to get more but we just had dim sum next door and wanted to try the steamed items here. As I like to say, if we like it, we'll be back. Everything was flavorful - the fun guo tasted peppery in a good way. I would say the sticky rice was okay and I could probably pass on it next time. The filling was mixed into the rice and there was minimal pork filling in the middle. Their dim sum offerings are limited, but I do like what they have. They also have roasted duck and BBQ meats along with some items in the hot bar. We'll be trying those next. As soon as walk in the store, they are ready to help! My parents and I come here a lot for the food they have here, especially their Peking duck and dim sum dishes. This isn't really a palce to sit in and eat, it's more of a takeout place, and the interior is just the counter with a lot of the dim sum and also Peking duck on display. They also have their own small parking lot which usually doesn't fill up in any way. From previous visits, I've gotten their siu mai, har gow and even their pork BBQ buns. This time I got their ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice dumplings), and a bunch of them as well. This is one of several places I know of where the ham sui gok is actually good; it's crispy, there's an ideal ratio between the pork filling and the wheat starch (i.e. not too much filling), and has a nice fried color. I also got their white sugar sponge cakes, which are sliced very thinly compared to what you'd get at dim sum restaurants but still have that iconically mildly sweet and spongey taste. I normally don't prefer them as a sweet dessert in dim sum places as there's a ton of other things like pineapple buns, mango pudding and even egg tarts but I like the way they do them here. No doubt I'll come back here every now and then for their stuff, especially since I've been around the neighborhood my whole life! read more

I enjoy coming here. With a good sized parking lot along the neighborhood, as you walk in, it's clean and there's fresh dim sum and people waiting to help you. And the service for getting to go is quick, My usual go to is chicken feet, siu mai, fried sesame balls, and sometimes a bbq pork bun for the drive home. I find the servings and price very fair, and in a way, a good deal! The chicken feet are tender and the skin soaked up all the flavors. Good amount of meat and size for the siu mai, very good too. Stopped by here to pick up some char siu (pork bbq) and chicken feet. It's true that it looks run down on the outside - as is the general environment nearby - but the service was lightning fast and the food is deliciously traditional Cantonese in style. I purchased a roasted pig that was weighed and charged with bone and skin included. However, when I got home, there was no skin and no bone at all in the portion I received. They also did not provide an itemized receipt, only a total amount with no breakdown of weight or price per lb. Sad I didn't know about this place sooner. I grew up in San Francisco, love dim sum, and crave it all the time. There are decent spots in the Seattle ID, but this is my new go-to for to-go. Favorites: - Chicken feet were fresh out the steamer -- melted in my mouth and so tasty. - Pork spare ribs were juicy and tender, and the rice rolls were silky smooth. - Siu yuk (roasted pork) had crunchy skin. - Bok tong go (sweet rice sponge cake) was light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. They make thinner pieces, which I much prefer. A full box for $5. Also good: - Ha gao (shrimp dumplings) were huge with lots of shrimp filling. - Jin duy (fried sesame balls with red bean filling) was less greasy and very crunchy. Service was quick and friendly. It hits the spot. The siu mai is basic yet good. I'm spoiled, coming from LA, we have a giant shrimp and fish eggs on our siu mai. But the Har Gow was bomb; It's bigger than usual and the flavors are all there. As for the bbq pork bun, they added a bit more bbq flavor, which I love. The bigger bun is a classic with pork, sausage and an egg. I'd def recommend the har gow and bbq pork bun. read more

don't ever buy from this place. I was here buying the bbq pork lunch combo. I asked for bbq and pork, which the guy gave me the old pork that he has left over from previous day. He didn't cut me the new pork which I asked for. Also I got food poison from before when I ate their dumplings. Avoid this place at all cost. They argued that the pork is fresh but it is not. This place offers a limited menu of (mostly) dim sum items with some BBQ items as well. The dim sum items are only offered by order (4+ pieces per order) so depending on the quantity, sometimes you either have to order a lot of an item or pass on it. (Some items like egg rolls are geared more towards large parties or catering events). What's frustrating for me is that even though they have a limited menu, they still sell out of items over an hour before closing and don't make more. I also overheard someone call ahead and try to place an advance order, and they were told to just show up on the day of because there were plenty of that item and weren't allowed to place an order. As a customer, that would be really frustrating to not be able to guarantee a large order ahead of time, especially knowing that they do sell out of some things. I got an order of sticky rice (2 per order), two orders of har gow (shrimp balls, 4 per order), one order of siu mai (4 per order) and a half order of sesame balls (5 per order). The total was around $22, which seemed pretty reasonable for the amount of food I got. The dimsum items all seemed larger than what you would normally get if ordering from a sit-down restaurant, and all were flavorful and cooked well. As much as I'd like to keep this review as objective as possible, I'm guilty to admit that there will be a hint of bias (especially when rating the food here), since I've been going here since I was practically an infant. For me, this place has arguably one of, if not the best, dimsum menu's I've ever tried. From the roast pork to the gigantic hambao's, nothing is unflavorful or lacks quality. My favorite menu items have always been the siumai, which is GINORMOUS compared to other dimsum places, packs a punch in flavor, and is so rich in texture where all the juices start to ooze out after every bite-- it's the kind of food that stays good even after reheating it the next day; and the BBQ pork hambao. You see, I've always lost my composure when eating these pork hambao's when I was younger, simply because the meat to flour ratio was perfect (densely packed) and most notably the bao itself, which stole the show with its mild sweetness that paired extremely well with the savory, umami-ness of the BBQ pork filling. However, the recipe changed after some years and the bao is no longer the same in terms of flavor. What was an addictively sweet dough now tastes plain. Although it's not the worst, I still knocked off a point because my favorite item no longer had that distinction that made it stand out from all the other store-bought BBQ pork buns in my freezer. It lost that nostalgia, to put it simply, and wouldn't be the first thing I'd order on the menu anymore. A gem. This is a staple for me when I am searching for the familiar comfort of good, simple, Dimsum dishes. The menu is limited but whatever they offer -- they are all good! Steamed pork buns with the best bread to pork ratio, pork siomai, shrimp ha kao, chicken feet, and in their hot deli counter they have chow mein, roast pork, pork BBQ, roast duck. With this place, I get to show up, talk to a lovely man at the door, and get a family sized portion of the main dim sum staples immediately, and for a good price. I normally spend around $40 and get: Shrimp Dumplings (5) Pork Dumplings (5) Sui Mai (5) Bbq Pork Ham Bao (10) Footballs (10) Sesame Balls (10) This will typically make myself, my daughter, and the family of 4 downstairs all VERY happy on a Sunday. I can also send my daughter with dim sum for lunch on monday, and enjoy a sesame ball myself at lunch. I have not ordered catering, or experienced the meat counter--but I find it fascinating. A large portion of their items are designed for considerably larger groups of people and events--and I kinda look forward to the day that I get to order 100 of something or other, but that's not typical. Aside from the location and the questionable cleanliness the food here is delicious. I really hate driving all the way out here but my parents love this place. The roast pig and roast duck has always been good and the skin on those is crispy and tasty. The banh bao whether it's processed pork or chicken with the Chinese sausage and egg inside is pretty good and they give you a lot of meat. I like the outer bread too, it's good not too dry and a little bit of sweetness. The BBQ pork banh bao has some good flavor as well and taste great while it's still hot.
