We ended up going to Chris' @ The Docket at the recommendation of the doorman at our hotel. The Docket serves breakfast and lunch. The food was good but if this review was simply based on food I probably would give the restaurant 4 stars. The 5 stars is because of the service. Everyone we encountered at the restaurant was friendly and attentive at an appropriate level. At one point my fiancé asked an employee for hot sauce. A minute later another employee dropped off a bottle of Choula Sauce. He thanked her and that seemed to be the end of it, until a minute later when the employee returned with a selection of hot sauces in case he wanted something different. This place never misses when it comes to the food and staffing! Anytime my friends suggest we go out for brunch my first choice is this place! Their Eggs Benny is delicious and even just talking about it makes me hungry! The mimosas are fantastic, small selection but still great to have while you are there. The decor has this almost retro feel to it which is great in my opinion. The restaurant itself is rather easy to find. Only a few blocks from busch stadium! Be aware you will have to find a street parking spot so highly recommended to get the park mobile app to make it easier for you! read more

My pancakes Were Not Done. Got to the middle of the pancakes and they were doughy. Also our mimosa had hair and a insect in it. June-13-2021 This was my 1st time here and I wouldn't come bck. Nice atmosphere. 45 minute wait at 11am on a Saturday, but definitely worth the wait! Food was brought to the table within 5-10 minutes of ordering. Food was steaming hot and fresh. Scrambled egg whites, bacon, hash browns and pancakes. All hot. And the pancakes were so so good. read more

My bestie is a regular here (Ken) so when I am in town visiting we make it here for breakfast at least a couple of times. The staff is super friendly, welcoming, and always have a smile on their face. They work as a team to make sure you are well taken care of. Chris' @ The Docket is a laid back breakfast place that offers lunch/dinner all day as well as breakfast. It's your traditional restaurant with dark wood tables, matching chairs and there are also booths along the windows. If you have a larger party of 8 for example, they have a couple round tables available. Chris' @ The Docket is a place that is a little less casual than IHOP but not fancy linens. I went with a group of people and the host made a reservation days in advance for 16 people. The reservation was on the books when we arrived however the setup was strange. It was a round table for 8, a couple square tables pushed together to fit another 10 and then a booth off to the side for two-four people. It was odd because if we had a reservation for a group of that size you would think the tables would be all one. The round table was completely separate from the square tables. We ended up making everyone fit at the square tables and round table so we did not use the booth which would have been even more odd. When we sat down, the server was extremely nice and accommodating. She was the only server for the party which is ok I suppose but can be hard on her since there are so many people and she had other tables to tend to as well. We ordered our food and the orders all came out correctly except there were two small mishaps. Six people in the party including myself did not get our food at the same time as the rest of the party. Normally this would be no big deal since we are a large group. However our food did not come out for at least 10 to 15 minutes. For a second we thought our orders were lost. I believe this was the fault of the kitchen not the server. I could tell the server was concerned with the food not being ready with the others. I ordered the French toast slam. It came with 4 half's slices of French toast, 4 slices of bacon, and two eggs any style. I also added on two pieces of wheat toast and two sausage links. Others around me ordered the T-bone steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, the omelet and pancakes. The French toast was really good but for me, it's not hard to please me with French toast! I would definitely go back for the French toast. It was topped with powdered sugar and had the right amount of crispy edge but just the right amount of fluffy ness. My sausage did not come out until I was almost done with my meal. The server was aware of my missing sausage but she didn't tell me so I thought it was forgotten about or not ordered. When the sausage finally came out it was not cooked completely. I sent it back and it was removed from my bill with no issue. My friend ordered the t-bone medium and it came out well done. She was hungry so she didn't send it back. My other friend had the omelet and she enjoyed the omelet but her pancakes were missing a piece that resembled a bite. It wasn't a bite missing I'm sure but nonetheless she asked to get them replaced. The server was busy with several tables so she wasn't able to check in after the food was dropped. So for the food mishaps we did have, it took a while to get them rectified. However being a server before, I would say she did really good since everyone's orders were correct when they arrived. The issues with the food was no fault of hers. We also ordered the hot chocolate. My friend said the hot chocolate wasn't good and he did not drink it. It came out in a big coffee mug topped with a pound of whip cream and mini marshmallows. Overall the experience at Chris' @ The Docket was good. The food was good and the server was pleasant. I did not get a chance to take pictures of my food because I waited so long that I was too hungry to even remember to take them. I gave 4 stars for the 6 orders that came out late and the mishaps with the food. I would recommend Chris' @ The Docket if you want an inexpensive breakfast or lunch in a casual setting. read more

Food was very tasty and we were sat quickly. Our food was brought out quickly as well so service is amazing. My only issue is with the pricing and menu. It clearly states that you can add "2 eggs and a full side of breakfast meat for $5" to any pancake, waffle or toast. I ordered a short stack and added this "deal" onto my pancakes. When receiving my check I noticed everything was rang up as A La Carte. I was charged for the eggs & bacon both separately, along with my pancakes. While it wasn't that big of a deal I thought I would've saved myself a few dollars by not getting the classic meal that include hash browns but I was very wrong & I ended up spending more. If something is advertised as an add-on for $5 then it shouldn't be charged A La Carte at checkout. Instead of an $11+ meal it turned into a $15+ meal for less food. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Let's start with friendly staff and most of all clean. Reasonable pricing. A lot to choose from on the menu. I ordered what was called Fried Rice Breakfast and it was delish! Bits of smoked bacon, rice fried with garlic, onions and I could taste a hint of ginger. For someone like myself who can whip different variations of fried rice, this meal was perfect! My first time visiting this establishment and I'm very pleased. I went on a Saturday afternoon, so there was a 30 minute wait. Didn't mind, since the location is downtown, we just walked around until our table was ready. Our waitress Raven was very pleasant and prompt. I ordered the UFO omelette and was able to upgrade my side to waffle. The food came out piping hot and everything was delicious. Yikes. Ordered the wedge salad, and I feel like they should have paid ME to eat that. Actually, I couldn't really eat most of it. The avocados were brown. The tomatoes were mushy and terrible. I did manage to eat the chicken, which was dry and flavorless but not gross. The bacon was fine. The salad dressing was super sparse. It looked a little like prison food, really. You get more presentation value at McDonalds! Stole a little bit of someone else's hash browns. It was just a mouthful of grease, and I'm a lady who likes her fried potato. I'm a huge fan of the original restaurant so maybe my expectations were set too high. Like many others, I stopped in because it was the closest place with lunch during Jury Duty. The stools at the high tops and bar are so tall, I could not even get on them. I'm short but still, this was a first!! I had almost 2 hours to kill...so I had a couple of beers before ordering. The server asked at least 7 times if I was ready to order. As I finished my second beer she brought the check and I had to say umm, I'm still going to order. Anyway, ordered the smothered hash browns but would not recommend. They were supposed to have chili, cheese and sour cream. The hash browns were kinda mushy underneath and even though they were served in a bowl, the sour cream was served on the side in a plastic container. Also had the Cali Eggs Benedict - the egg was cooked nicely but the English muffin was way too thick. I would go back during JD but that's probably the only reason. read more
