Went Sunday and it was so cold in the place that my partner and I saw each others' breath. Not joking. It was cold even for someone like me who enjoys a chill in the air. For instance, I drink iced coffee year round. Well, not at Christopher's. Iced coffee is seasonal there. And the only herbal tea served is chamomile, which I ordered just to warm my hands, though it is a good natural kidney stone treatment. And then there was the noisy family with toddler and infant who tried to outvocalize each other throughout our meal--parents did little to try to curb this and management did nothing. I appreciate the delicacy of the situation, but 45 minutes of screeching and tantrums, whether by children or adults, warrants intervention. They have the best oatmeal on the North Shore, and most of the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. I like the proprietor. Love the decor. But it's not enough to bring me back until at least April, provided it's iced coffee season again. read more

I really enjoyed my time breakfast at this little eatery. It has always been hard for to come here because their hours don't really mesh with my schedule... But boring long weekend and here I am. I ordered the eggs Benny which were tasty, but the eggs were a bit overcooked, not as deliciously runny as I had fantasized. The hollandaise was good but not as creamy and rich as I am used to having. The homefries were UH-MAY-ZING!!! And the french toast was really yummy. The waitstaff was friendly, but being such a popular and small place, it would do them well to be a bit more organized or have just one more person. Or perhaps it was just a busy Sunday morning and I'm being unfair. Will definitely return to try other items though... :) read more

Forget about going to Christopher's for the decor, forget about going for the view, forget about going for the decorations...one word describes them all ..there is NONE. BUT and this is a BIG BUT...do go to Christopher's for the breakfast food. Our usual of 2 over easy, toast, fries, bacon and coffee met all our fussy expectations. The Home fires are some of the best we have ever had..flavor, taste and texture....mmmmm. If there was a negative to our experience beyond the decor it was the fact that we had to get up and serve ourselves the coffee. On the positive side of that was the fact that you have many different flavors to choose from and all were hot and plentiful. Good food and scones and muffins so large that you need two hands make this a strong 3 out of 5 rating. Just ate here yesterday- I had a delicious bagel sandwich made to order and yummy homefries.

Presentation was beautiful. Food was Ok. Beautiful fresh berries.Neither the omelet or waffle were hot when served. Not cold but just warm. Really good coffee at a self service bar. Looked like they had some really nice homebaked pastries. Service was ungodly slow. Only two other tables seated when we arrived. Two others came in after we'd been waiting 10 minutes and were served first. Realize this is a neighborhood place and regulars merit a little extra attention, but it was uncomfortable. I tried this place for the first time today in lieu of reviews and I was a bit disappointed. My sister and her husband both said their meals were "okay" ( blueberry pancakes with hash she had 2 eggs scrambled with home fries and bacon) they both said it was nothing special but I chose to get the eggs Benedict and having had it all over New England And my girlfriend making her own I can tell you honestly there is something wrong with the hollandaise sauce. It could have been just today I can't say for sure but It had no taste no texture and was very watery. I always feel you MUST tell someone working there or it will never get fixed so I did politely inform the waitress on my thoughts. Who by the way were very nice/pleasant. My other issue was the wait was a bit much for breakfast ( roughly 25 mins after we ordered) I would have to say with the plethora of great breakfast joints in the area I would be hard pressed to consider it again. A group of 8 of us ate at Christopher's Cafe this morning. We forgot to make a reservation but Dave the owner went to great lengths to accommodate us. The wait staff was so nice, the food was delicious and Dave checked in to see how we were doing. The baked goods were fresh and made on premises and were great. Also they roast their own coffee. They made our eggs Benedict just the way we like them. We definitely will be back. read more

Went at 1030 am on a Sunday. We were in no rush so we did not mind the wait. We gave our names and were seated within a few minutes. It was obviously packed, but being in a lazy Sunday mood I didn't mind the delay in ordering food. While we waited to order food, we enjoyed the coffee bar and juice shooters. Breakfast was a nice portion without being obnoxiously large. Tenderloin omelet was good, as was the ham omelet. Personal preference, I like my ham diced and incorporated, this came as a slab of ham in the omelet. home fries were good. corn beef hash delicious. staff was friendly and accommodating. Start to finish took 90 minutes. Had I been in a hurry, that would have been an issue so its not a quick in and out on a sunday, but for a lazy sunday brunch it was very enjoyable. read more

David was catering our wedding. Our wedding party had a random collection of allergies and intolerances and we were therefore looking for food that was tasty but simple in the choice of ingredients. While all the other caterers were still giving us suggested menus that were all over the place David immediately got what we wanted. He gave great suggestions on how to tailor the menu we had tentatively come up with to make it a fit for everyone while not financially ruining us. Although we didn't opt to go for a cake from Christopher's - our family wanted to contribute the gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free wedding cake - we got to try some cake option during the tasting dinner and they were delicious. The roast beef was fantastic, the salmon was really nice and both the crab chowder and the mashed potatoes are absolutely to die for. Everyone at the wedding said they thought the food was fantastic and complimented us on the caterer we chose. David and his crew also took care of the decoration of the hall and sourced all the silverware, glasses and plates for us - again helping us to get the best deal for the money. The place looked really great and the buffet was just the right mixture of nicely decorated but not overladen! During the event the waitstaff was very attentive and helpful (including making sure that bride and groom got their share of the passed hors d'oeuvres) and made sure that everyone knew which starter options were not suitable for which allergies. David and the rest of the crew from Christopher's Cafe allowed us to enjoy our wedding and reception without having to worry about all the nitty-gritty and should we have another catered event in the future I will definitely come back to Christopher's for food and organization. read more

Easily the best breakfast place on the North Shore. They use the best ingredients. An example being they buy a whole on the bone ham which is then sliced for the meal. The vegetables used in the omelets are fresh and cooked well. My personal favorites are the pancakes and French Toast. The recent remodeling adds to the very comfortable atmosphere of your time there. And as someone else noted the scones and the overall pastries are outstanding! read more

We wanted to try to a new breakfast place, and we're so glad we picked Christopher's Cafe! It's a no frills place, but the food is excellent and the staff is so friendly. It's a seat yourself place, so no need to wait for a hostess. The coffee is self serve and unlimited refills. They have to go cups for when you leave too. The food was so delicious, and incredibly reasonably priced. You can tell they have a lot of regulars - the servers knew all the customer's names. I hope this restaurant sticks around for a long time, because this will be our new breakfast spot! It's a gem! read more

I visited Christopher's after my cousin used their catering service for a Holiday party. She would not stop talking about the delicious pasta and veggie dishes. When I went in I was greeted by a waiter right away. He offered to get a high chair for my young son. The chair was clean...which is always wins points with a germ-a-phobe! I liked the self serve coffee station. They offer at least 6 different flavors! And they were actually brewed flavors, not sugary syrup shots like at Dunkin Donuts. I ordered the Greek Omlette, home fires and toast . The eggs were firm and fluffy just the way I like them, no salmonella for me thanks. The Spinach was cooked to perfection which most places have trouble doing. The home fries were fresh and tasty. All the other breakfast places I have been to have chunky, soggy home fries. We were so full at the end of the meal we didn't have any room left for the enticing cupcakes. But we did take one to enjoy later. We bought one cupcake and shared it among three people. It was sugary goodness!!!! I have been back every week since my first visit!! read more

This is a little delight in the Diamond District of Lynn. I have had many different selections from the menu, including the delicious Spanish Omelet. The baked goods are always first class. I love the banana bread especially. The best thing about Christopher's is the case that contains salads and sides to go. Saturday morning 9/12/15..... just came out of funeral home across the street, and was heading to Cape Cod for an event. Have been by the Cafe hundreds of times, but never been in. Not enough time to sit down, but, with memories of the all time best Stones being recalled, we went in. The place was 85% capacity, smelled and looked great. On top of the display case were huge pieces of coffee cake, blueberry cake, along with a few other yummy looking pieces. I chose the coffee cake version, it was packed in a nice take out container that would make driving and snacking easier. Once thru the tunnel and in easy snackin traffic, the wife opened the container and facilitated with the eating/driving task. One bite, and I was almost wishing I was laying in the funeral home. OLD FOOD AND SMALL CAFE'S ARE 1000% UNACCEPTABLE. Never, Ever, Ever, does a cafe or breakfast place serve at least a day old food. NEVER. So disappointed read more

I have never had a worse experience at an eating establishment in my entire life. I also have never written a review in my entire life but this place was so atrocious that I had to write one. If you want breakfast, I would recommend going to any other place on Earth other than Christopher's Cafe in Lynn. The fact that not only our meal, but everyone else's took 45 minutes to reach the table is a joke. We're talking about breakfast here. Breakfast should take no longer than 15 minutes. Meanwhile the hostess walks around checking on tables every 5 minutes asking if everything is okay and if we want more juice? Are you kidding? No, I don't want more juice, I want my fucking food that I ordered an hour ago. Now the best part is that once we got our "food" I almost had to laugh at how awful it was. Number 1 the food was cold, number 2 the homefries are basically a pile of the burnt grease crumbs that normally would be thrown out, and number 3 I wouldnt feed this shit to a starving animal! Hands down the worst service/food I have ever had. Please do yourself a favor and eat dog food before you try eating breakfast at this dump. Thank you. read more
