It was delicious. Our server Jaime is awesome. Very attentive, make sure we're well taken care of. Give us our last warning and helping us cancel our orders cause our eyes are bigger than our stomach when we came. Nice ambiance and clean self serve station. Very good selection of meat for the gold tier. Come hungry leaving stuffed like a turkey on thanksgiving day.

I had a very disappointing experience at this all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ restaurant. Before we were seated, we politely asked the front desk if our party could be split into two tables. Despite the restaurant having the availability, they refused and insisted on seating all of us at one table. The hostess also had a very rude attitude from the moment we arrived, which immediately made us feel unwelcome. As the meal went on, many of the food items were running out. We asked multiple times for refills, but they were never replenished, which is unacceptable for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. To make matters worse, when the bill came, they automatically added gratuity for our large party. We asked to speak with the manager because of the poor service throughout the evening, hoping they would at least acknowledge our concerns. Instead, the manager was just as dismissive and rude as the front desk staff and made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right. Overall, the customer service was terrible from start to finish, the food service did not live up to the "all-you-can-eat" experience, and management showed no interest in customer satisfaction. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

Stopped here tonight with the family. It was my first time here and I must say this place was amazing. My compadre was the one who showed me this place and we decided to finally try it tonight. The food: 1000/1000 we went with the gold option and it was amazing. So many wonderful cuts of Waygu beef and the recommendations from our server were great: we also had the sides and I must say the Waygu burger was so good, I can see why it would run out really fast. The deserts were so good and lots of amazing options. I enjoyed the unlimited beverages as well. Service: top notch service, our server was Tyler and he went above and beyond for our party. He made sure our experience was an excellent one. He was kind, courteous and you can tell he takes pride in his work. The inside was very nice and clean, this used to be another restaurant back in the days so it was nice to come back to my old stepping grounds. Drove over 60 miles to come here and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Tyler for the hospitality.

Chubby Cattle is a place of variety, indulgence and quality, a good treat. You can eat self prepared BBQ meats and refreshing sushi options at the same time. Obviously the quality is great, they have many premium options including waygu beef all you can eat. The service was good from our host, positive attitude and welcoming, until he started to mention their membership and if we wanted to join five times after saying no. Earlier we called to get information before arriving and they can't even have a staff member answer the call, an AI bot was struggling to assist and answer our questions. Everything is ordered on a tablet. The amount of self service at this restaurant is nauseating, considering the price to dine in. You can order every 7 minutes until time is up. Ambiance is active and the upbeat music playlist is about at a medium volume. The experience is streamlined to get you in and out, I was not a fan of the constant badgering to join their membership, especially at checkout. There is an egregious amount of self service that could be handled by staff, for the price range, having everyone run around each other to grab drinks and grab items from the cold bar and other self service areas is strange. Located on the first floor by Target at the Topanga mall, parking in the structure.

I got the gold tier, it was a nice option to try the "tasting experience" as it was our first time, but honestly could have done without it. This place is more on the pricier side, but for the silver tier, it's a solid opt. There were a few items on the menu that we tried that we did not like at all, it had to be taken away lol but there were a lot of items we did enjoy! Our server nick was knowledgeable and friendly. This is a type of restaurant where you order through the tablet and the food comes to your table, the server does come around often to check in on you and to change the grills. Jasper was also really good at taking away any of our empty/ dirty dishes every time he dropped off food. When I first arrived, I was trying to get the host attention so that I could get checked in but she is not welcoming and bit rude. She is constantly looking down at her tablet then walking away. Then just calls whoever is next on the tablet, not acknowledging anyone new coming in! Me and another guest were so confused we had to flag her down to get checked in which is so odd. I've never been to a restaurant where a host made us feel like we are an inconvenience to her!! Anyway,after we did check in, we had to wait another 20 mins or so for our table to be ready. Lowkey being added to the wait yourself vs reservation seems like the same wait time which defeats the purpose of a reservation.

As a huge fan of Chubby Cattle, I am incredibly disappointed to say that this specific location has been a miss ever since it opened. I've given it three chances now, and each visit has been a poor experience. After my most recent visit, I felt compelled to finally write a review. We ordered the highest tier (Diamond), expecting a premium experience, but our server, Kai, was completely rude and unprofessional. Throughout the night, he barely checked on us or cleared our plates. Instead, he repeatedly approached our table just to scold us about having only 30 minutes left. When last call approached, we placed a larger order to wrap up our meal. Kai came over and lectured us about the size of the order, warning us that we would have to pay for leftovers even though we ended up finishing absolutely everything. When we tried to put in one final item before the system even shut down, he arbitrarily told us he was canceling it because we "couldn't order anymore." It is incredibly frustrating to be paying customers spending over $600, only to be spoken to so disrespectfully about ordering food during valid service hours. To top it off, after dropping off the check and taking our payment, we went to get dessert. Kai approached us yet again and told us we needed to leave, essentially kicking us out of the restaurant. We've been to so many Chubby concepts and never have once been treated like this.

We've been here a total of two times and each time has been amazing! We had Nick and Kai serving us and they've been amazing. Always checking in on us, making sure we get the best service, and just vibed with them. They're so easy to chat up. It's more expensive than your AYCE experience but it's really worth it especially for special occasions. It's a sit down upscale JBBQ spot and while I love their meats, I think about their lobster roll, Wagyu slider, and carpaccio the most alongside their unlimited milk tea and egg tarts. Next time we come, we hope we get to run into Nick and Kai again! They both work really hard and the quality of their service definitely shows.

We were here a couple months ago, and tonight we are back to celebrate my hubby's birthday...and yes, I'm happy happy to say service is 100% on point, super nice and helpful. I also learned tonight, just in case if you were wondering...On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays it is only Walk-In no reservations...wait time varies, but Mon thru Thursday you can make reservations and also do walk-in's. We still love the choices from the digital menu, and totally enjoyed the birthday jingle surprise!! OH! I love love their Earl Grey roll cake!! I had 2 slices!! (Gasp)! It's totally fun inside! I love the interior designs.

Delicious food and stellar service! Absolutely worth the wait and the price. This was my first time dining at Chubby Cattle, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. There's a variety of meat to choose from, from rich and savory wagyu to thinner briskets. All meat is very high quality cuts, taste amazing even without sauce. The sushi was just OK to me. Some of the rice was undercooked and so randomly crunchy in some parts, and the taste of the fish was just acceptable. The hand rolls were pretty good, though. Love the assortment of sides and appetizers to choose from, and the self service drinks, salads, desserts, and sides. There's even dim sum! And the slushies are so good. I actually didn't like the milk tea much, too creamy and sweet for me, but YMMV. There's just so much to eat and drink here, and the portions are just right. Loved the ambiance and the service. The only drawback was the wait time (quite long on a weekend for lunch) and the fact that it got super smoky in the area we sat. Even the restrooms were noticeably smoky. However, our table and others in the area were moved to a section with significantly better ventilation. It seems like ventilation could be a recurring issue here, but they also seem to be aware of it and can shift your table somewhere better if it gets too smoky. Overall, highly recommend this place!

Chubby Cattle in Woodland Hills, located inside the Westfield Topanga Mall, is a super fun and elevated Korean BBQ-style experience featuring Japanese wagyu. It's easy to get to, on the bottom floor, next to Target. It gets super busy, so make sure to go super early to put your name down. Oh! And make sure you come hungry. The atmosphere is modern, lively, and upscale compared to your typical KBBQ. You're given a set dining time, and there's also a 7-minute window in which you can place each order, which can feel a little stressful at first since you're trying to decide, order, cook, and eat all at once. I took a few pictures but we probably had 30 more plates and with the time constraints, it was hard! We went with the Silver Tier, and it was amazing. The quality of the meat was excellent, especially the Japanese wagyu, which was rich, tender, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered tasted high quality and well worth it. There's also a walk-up area where you can grab extras like fresh vegetables, curry, soup, corn/sweet potato with cheese, desserts, and even a wagyu hamburger, which we heard was delicious. The milk teas were also really good and a nice pairing with the meal. The experience can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but our server Tyler was incredible. He helped us put in our first order, gave great recommendations, and made sure we understood how everything worked. His attentiveness really made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, Chubby Cattle is a unique, high-quality wagyu BBQ experience that's definitely worth trying. Just be ready for a fast-paced start - and if you get Tyler, you're in great hands! We'll definitely be back! **Tip** Sign up for their yearly membership. The initial cost and what you save pays for itself.

Chubby Cattle is beautifully decorated, well serviced, and has delicious food. I probably won't go again. The good - all the food was fresh with plenty of variety. Buffet options were great too. There a rice machine that serves exactly the amount of rice you want, like R2D2 scooping your portion. I really liked the wagu stew and all the meats. I would skip the sushi. The bad - the dining experience, while fun, was not relaxing at all. There is a timer that counts down like a game show, ticking time bomb. When the timer finishes, you order your limited number of dishes and the timer stars again. It feels like a game show to maximize your orders rather than tasting a variety of beautifully aged fatty meats. The restaurant itself is clean but very congested. I would recommend checking it out, but I'll be making return trips to the chubby cattle in Vegas

We made a reservation about a month ago. Checked in 10 minutes before our time slot. Didn't get seated until 30 minutes after our reservation time, and that's only because I made a stink with the seating host twice. Our server was pretty nice at first though very pushy about the higher tier of meats and tried a handful of times to get us signed up for their membership. We were told we'd get a heads up when it was time to put in our last order...that never happened. We asked our server to put in one last order for us, he agreed and then after hearing our choices (3 more meats and a side) just said "no your eyes are bigger than your stomachs I'm going to put in 1 of these" and abruptly walked away. The meats were pretty decent, definitely at the higher end of Japanese bbq. That's the reason for 2 stars instead of 1. Sides were nothing special and the concept of getting up to get your own sides/drinks we felt wasn't that great--gyu kaku is a better experience overall. We were really excited about this place when we heard one was opening near us. But we agreed we probably won't ever plan on ever going back. Also 800+ reviews in 2 months of being open? Yea, I'm skeptical about that high rating they supposedly have. read more

Been here a few times now. My family eats KBBQ fairly frequently and this place is by far our favorite. The food is always amazing. They offer high quality meat and lots of interesting and delicious side dishes. They also have sushi/sashimi on thr menu which we love. Trash service, the waiter promises he's gonna cook the meat for you and comes back 20 minutes later while the grill is running, some of the food we ordered we didn't receive, the waiter gets butthurt that we didnt buy the membership, then forgets to do bday celebrate for my mom's bday, lastly the waiter rushed us out to leave. Got there a few minutes after opening and there was already line but it went quick (other than one annoying customer that held things up). When we got through it, the woman said she can "get us in right away" if we can finish by 6:30pm. We said yes... then got put on a waiting list. Umm, getting us on a waiting list is not the same as "getting us in". But the wait was only about 10 minutes after that and we still had enough time to get out by 6:30 without feeling rushed. Our server Naomi was awesome. The salmon and yellowtail carpaccio were both overly cold, which I know is an odd thing to say about sushi but was so much so that it made eating it less enjoyable. The quality was good though, they tasted fresh. The crepe cake I don't think was supposed to be an ice cream cake but thats what it was like. I think they received them frozen and didn't defrost them long enough (maybe the sushi too?). Black pepper beef half the pieces were so chewy we had to spit them out. As someone who has worked at a newly opened restaurant in the area before in the past, I can tell you at least half of these reviews are fake. They come from, I'm sure employees and or friends of this restaurant looking to boost sales and traffic with fake reviews. I've done it, and know the game. We tried Chubby Cattle months ago during their soft opening. We thought it was decent and different, but weren't 100% sold on it. We appreciated the quality of meat (the best part) and the few different options they had. The first visit I wasn't super impressed. No liquor license, the staff seemed all over the place, no big deal....new locations for businesses need time to sort things out, I get it. Months later we went back to dine a few nights ago. The overall rating of this place absolutely sucked since they had opened not that long ago. The place is crawling with bacteria Im sure ! They for some reason have been using paper cups since they opened, the straws are literally all unwrapped in a weird container by the drink station that is literally covered in smudge and goop. The serve yourself buffet is disgusting and not managed, and if so, the staff needs to be retrained. We sat down to order our selves (AYCE tablet style) which wasn't the biggest issue....we sat there like elementary school kids trying to order through a dial up speed tablet that was literally plugged in like a cell phone. Next was the quality of meat, which wasn't the best thing the first visit. Our second visit the other night, the meat absolutely sucked. Dry, flavorless, and shame to say the least. They didn't have ice for our paper cup beverages, still no liquor license, and the annoying waiter we had could NOT help but remind us every 5 minutes how much time we had left to dine and the vibe was trash. I wasn't even offended by how much they charge for AYCE of any level but more entertained at how bad it was. With that said, this place is some weird wanna be hipster fake BBQ place. Other Chubby Cattle locations have got to better than this one cause there is no way this place remains open. Would like to disclose that I'm not a Karen with many things and understand growing pains, especially in this area of the neighborhood....but you couldn't pay me to come here again. Awful waste of time and money. Hate that I had to write this review, just trying to save a few people from spending money on child's play dining. The text messaging system should be updated as you will receive multiple texts and can be confusing. Not sure if we are supposed to check in at the front desk or what not but I did and the front desk seemed frustrated that she had to repeatedly say "I will text you when the table is ready", so Im like just checking if I need to let you know that I received your text and I'm here. The text messaging system was confusing. The front desk staff was alright, probably she needs more experience to get hang of talking to customers and listening to them, she was not that welcoming tho. The sushi station is cool but the staff was touching her phone with the same gloves that touches the raw food. So I won't be surprised if people will get sick. After coming here for years with family, friends, even referring this place to others I WILL NEVER COMEBACK AGAIN. I've been to the other North Italia location as well and this one is right on par -- consistent quality across the board. We started with the White Truffle Garlic Bread ($16.50) and it did not disappoint -- soft, pillowy, and absolutely amazing, with that white truffle aroma hitting you before the first bite even happens. A must-order starter. We also added the Caesar Salad, which was fresh, crispy, and dressed with an amazing dressing that elevated the whole dish. For mains we had the Braised Short Rib Lumache and the Chicken Parmesan ($28.50). The short rib was delicious, prepared more in a ragu style with the meat shredded throughout the pasta. The flavor was outstanding, though personally I'd have preferred bigger, more substantial pieces of short rib rather than the ragu style presentation. Still a great dish overall. The Chicken Parmesan, though, is where this meal really shined -- one of the best chicken parms in the city. Juicy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, and smothered in a rich marinara with melted cheese. This dish alone is worth coming back for. The service was outstanding -- every single person we interacted with was knowledgeable, attentive, and a genuine pleasure to deal with. The environment is welcoming and well designed, and they seated our party of 6 with ease, no hassle at all. Prices are on the higher side, but you genuinely get what you pay for here -- the quality, portion sizes, and overall execution justify the cost. North Italia is doing Italian food right, and the quality across every dish we tried was consistently excellent. Highly recommend for a special dinner or even a casual night out in Topanga.

This was hands down the worst customer service experience ever. We were a group of 10 and politely asked from the very beginning to be seated at two separate tables of 5 with separate bills. They made us wait for nearly an hour, despite most of the restaurant being completely empty! When we asked why, they rudely claimed they didn't have enough staff to serve those empty tables.Eventually, they sat us at two tables pushed together. Our grills, our orders, and our bills were completely separate from start to finish. Yet, when the bill arrived, they split the total but sneakily added the Large Party Auto Gratuity to both individual checks!We paid for the Silver AYCE menu, but the buffet management was pathetic. To cut costs, they had locked and disabled several premium meat options on the ordering tablet so we couldn't even select them! Many other items like a specific shrimp dish, one type of kimchi, and one of the desserts were completely missing and never served. The sauce station was completely empty, and they only refilled it after we complained multiple times. As for the salad, they first claimed they ran out, then brought a tiny portion after we insisted, and for the rest of the night, the salad bar remained completely empty. To make it worse, the staff started packing up and clearing away the remaining food stations long before we were even done eating.This brings up the biggest issue: If you are running out of almost everything and turning off items, why are you even accepting paying customers in the first place?! It is completely dishonest to charge full price for an AYCE experience when half the menu is unavailable.When we confronted the manager about this forced gratuity and terrible service, his attitude was shockingly arrogant. When we told him we would just cancel our memberships due to this treatment, he literally replied, "I don't care, go ahead and do it."Absolutely unacceptable. They only care about trapping you into paying a mandatory tip while providing zero service and restricting your food. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

I don't usually run to Yelp after a meal, but Chubby Cattle in Topanga deserves every word -- mostly because of Nicole, who completely made our night. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- brand new, spotless, and buzzing with that "freshly opened" energy. But if you get seated in Nicole's section? Your night is already off to a perfect start. This girl was handling multiple tables at once (seriously, it was packed) and never missed a beat. She's effortlessly funny and personable, but also knows exactly when to be professional. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does - she walked us through the menu like she's been running this place for years, gave spot-on recommendations (everything we tried was fire), and checked in at the perfect times -never hovering, never disappearing. I also noticed some tables were being encouraged to sign up for memberships, which can feel... a little pushy. Nicole, however, was completely the opposite - laid-back, nonchalant, and never made me feel like I had to get one. Honestly, her vibe made me think, "Yeah, maybe I should," without ever feeling pressured. Who wants to feel forced into a membership? Exactly. And here's the thing: good service is one thing, but good service with personality? That's magic. Nicole has that rare ability to make you feel genuinely cared for, like you're being hosted by someone who actually enjoys your company. As for the food - the AYCE Wagyu was incredible, of course, but Nicole's service honestly made it next-level. She turned a delicious meal into a full experience. I recently visited Chubby Cattle at the mall, and it's clear why it's so popular--there's always a line before it even opens! The wait time can be quite long, especially if you don't arrive early. On my first visit on December 6th, 2025, we waited around two hours. The host, who wears glasses, warned us that we might not make it in before they closed because it was so busy. Luckily, we managed to get a table just ten minutes before they stopped seating, which didn't give us much time, but thankfully, our server was fantastic. They made sure our meal went smoothly despite the time crunch. One issue I faced was with the host's referral code. She suggested that using her code would get us in faster, so each person in my group signed up using her code. We ended up giving her around 2,000 points, which felt shady because she could've just asked us to create accounts instead of implying it was necessary for quicker seating. I noticed she did this with other families as well. On my second visit, things went more smoothly, and we had more time to enjoy the experience. The restaurant is quite large and kept very clean. I noticed that a lot of the meats are very fatty; I wish there were more marinated options since the ones they offer don't have much sauce. The ordering system is interesting but could be easier to read, as it's filled with cartoon pictures. The sides were tasty, though I would love to see more variety. One of the best parts of our visit was our server, Tyler. He was energetic, attentive, and extremely helpful, ensuring we had a great time. While Chubby Cattle is on the pricier side, it's worth a try for the bustling atmosphere and good food. Beware the wait time...I visited your restaurant with a party of six to celebrate two birthdays and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. Our quoted wait extended to 3.5 hours, and while the front desk staff were initially pleasant, their attitude became increasingly dismissive as time passed. Despite being first on the Yelp waitlist, multiple smaller parties were seated ahead of us. Although I mentioned several times that we were willing to split the group if needed, no one proactively communicated options, and we continued waiting for a six-person table. In the end, we were seated at an undersized table where we were crowded and uncomfortable , and we ultimately had to split into two tables anyway. This lack of communication and care made the experience unnecessarily stressful, especially during a birthday celebration. However, our server, Nessie, completely turned the evening around. His professionalism, attentiveness, humor and genuinely warm demeanor made a significant difference. He checked on us consistently, anticipated our needs, and ensured that every part of the meal went smoothly despite the rocky start. His exceptional service brought comfort and positivity to what would have otherwise been a very frustrating night. Food was amazing and our server Kevin made the experience even better. My boyfriend and I were trying to find a place for a last minute anniversary dinner and knew we would only be eating for a short time due to arriving so late (we came close to last call) and Kevin helped us so much with the menu and making sure we were able to finish our time with our bellies full. He had really good recommendations as well, the strip loin has easily become my favorites dish on the whole menu (but it is not included in the all you can eat menu). For the food: Otoro and short rib from the special menu are easily my favorites from the specials. The meats are great and they have a solid choice of seafood options and sushi as well. I wasn't expecting the sushi to be as good as it was too, tasting good and is a solid options as well for me (I usually only get salmon so I'm not familiar with the other fish. I do want to note that a chunk of the options are wagyu and so can be really fatty. I personally love this but do want those who don't particularly like fatty meats to look over the menu and see if they have options you would prefer before coming! All in all, amazing service, and the self serve bar has a good selection between deserts, extra hot foods, cold foods, and some good drink such as the milk tea. Went in for our wedding anniversary dinner! Just wanted to highlight their amazing customer service. ( as a same sex couple we don't know what to expect interms of how "LGBTQ friendly" an establishment will be). With our experience we were delighted as first timers! The host Jennifer greeted us happily and wished us a Happy Wedding Anniversary! We felt welcomed and she took the time to answer and break down how CC's dining tiers worked. As for our Server Ferni did an amazing job cooking our specialty meats and making sure we had everything we needed. The high energy personality and accommodation made the experience even better. The dining is timed and you can order up to 10 items every 7 min but we never felt rushed and there's plenty of time to eat and enjoy. As for the food WOW we went with the gold tier for our family of 3. It's worth it. No frozen meat and all the self serve options are great! High quality meats, sushi and sides. Our faves included the wagyu steak, top blade, and our son loved the wagyu sliders! They offer specials for a membership and Ferni explained all the perks! I highly recommend on getting the membership and take advantage of any offers they have that month. We're excited to come back again! Where do I begin? We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told the wait would be a little over an hour long. That wasn't a problem, but when our table was ready, we had to wait over 30 minutes inside even though they said we were all set. Once seated, the waiter only came to our table once to greet himself. We watched him serve and help cook at the surrounding tables, but we were left unattended for the duration of our meal. Not only that, but we never got a grill change, and they didn't bring us three plates of meat that we ordered. On top of this, the quality of the meat was definitely not as advertised. It was chewy at best. I really wanted to love this place, but for the price, I expected much better service and food quality. The sushi was decent, but that's honestly about it. Even the desserts were inedible. The egg tarts were so overcooked that they were practically like scrambled eggs in a burnt pie crust. The hostess was rude when we reminded her our table was ready, the waiter was absent, and we didn't even get what we ordered. First off want to start by saying I had a huge group come in with me there was 10 of us. Our server was on it, great at explaining. He kinda looked like Bryce hall, he killed it but went overkill with the membership pitch. Im sure they want their servers to keep pushing for us to buy a membership however it's very sleezy. Felt like I was being pushed into buying a timeshare. He does end it by saying well it's your loss! Nice way to treat customers before leaving a fat tip! Stop pushing memberships, patrons come to eat not feel bad for not signing up for yet another money grab. Seafood Quality wasn't great, salmon and yellowtail were subpar. Beef was great. Front house hostess seem in experienced, they have rude demeanors and aren't very great at making you feel like you're being taken care of. We asked how long it would take and there wasn't even an explanation as to why it would take a certain amount of time. They need better training or just getter better staff. read more
