It's a big buffet restaurant that's clean, family oriented, nicely organized and decorated, and great for families or big groups of friends. I love the color scheme and the decorations that made the place feel homey. The serving staff are friendly, polite, well trained in keeping the food trays filled up and the tables free of used plates/utensils. Their salad bar is top notched and so is their bakery and desserts sections. I'm not a big fan of their meat section. However, you get what you pay for. It's not a high end buffet so didn't expect the best cuts. They got a delicious sautéed mushroom to go with the roast beef and there's also gravy, cranberry sauce, and other sauces and stuffing. Everything else we had tasted good and it was nice to experience eating at Chuck Arama. It's in the Boise Spectrum which is a shopping complex so parking isn't a problem.

I love Chuck-O-Rama, it's a family owned Buffet with a few locations in the north west and the food is always fresh and good quality. The Chuck -O-Rama in Boise is always providing a great salad bar, homemade fried chicken with many sides and a carving station with turkey, roast, beef and ham. I got a little bit of everything including the salad, bar and items from the desert station and the food quality was very good. The service is still great with multiple attendants, constantly cleaning the tables and clearing dishes. The location is becoming a bit worn, and would be better if the location had a bit of a remodel.

to say it plainly, the food is VERY mediocre. i understand it's probably catered to an older crowd, but i feel like they could up their food. on my plate the mac and cheese was really watery, the mashed potatoes are boxed & the "stuffing" is just bread and gravy. the sweets are what's giving it a 3 stars from me. just be warned that it's not the best! i paid $31 for two people on a tuesday afternoon.

We've been coming here over 20 years and tonight was horrible! They advertised tonight being a bbq theme. They served corn dogs and chicken strips. Was not worth the 48.00 fir dinner. The bbq beans were dry as was the stuffing. The potato with ham dish was so dry the ham wouldn't cut with my fork. We will not eat here again!

Listen, this isn't fine dining, but there is plenty of warm/chilled, fresh and tasty food to be had, without waiting to order or have the food prepared for you. There are many choices to enjoy and even though all may not be to your liking, the majority of items are pleasing to most people. Cons; I couldn't find regular butter for the bread/corn, but also I didn't ask, so my bad. Seafood was way overcooked and not due to sitting out too long, it came out of the kitchen that way. A bit small dining room and congested food area. Maybe a little bit too loud inside, but that's simply a sign that they are busy and customers like the place. Pros; Great friendly table service, will bring drinks to you, clean up used plates and answer any questions with a Boise smile. Great variety of options and don't forget the delicious soups and fresh carved meat station. Food is replenished often. Good convenient location off Overland. For a family style buffet restaurant, it is of slightly higher caliber than most of its competition. Yes, we will return when we are famished and need a quick bite.

5/5 Stars -- Kung Fu Flavor with a Side of Calorie Guilt!…read more Let me tell you something, Panda Express, you magnificent noodle slingers of West Boise--your Chow Mein is like a Bruce Lee roundhouse kick straight to my taste buds. Those sizzling noodles are loaded with enough savory goodness to make me want to sign up for martial arts classes just to keep up with the flavor assault. But hold up--I'm not here to praise you unconditionally. Those calories in the Chow Mein? Let's just say I need a workout regimen that would make a Shaolin monk weep tears of carbs. Every bite tastes like victory, but my waistline is waving a tiny white flag in surrender. And the Beijing Beef? Sweet merciful dragonfire, that's a crispy, tangy, sweet-and-spicy explosion that deserves its own action movie. I nearly burst into applause after every crunchy bite--like I was at the finale of a Michael Bay film, minus the car chase. Delivery? FAST. Food? HOT. Like, so fast and hot I half expected the driver to drop in from the ceiling on a zipline with a wok in one hand and a ninja star in the other. The red peppers? Sweet and crunchy--like candy that learned martial arts. But let's talk about that Chinese mustard, shall we? Yawn. That was the culinary equivalent of a flat tire on a high-speed chase--dull, boring, and so flavorless I wondered if my taste buds had checked out early. It was like expecting a flamethrower but getting a wet noodle instead. Still, every other bite felt like a delicious battle--and I'm here for it. Panda Express, you are my guilty pleasure, my sweet-and-spicy kryptonite, and the unstoppable culinary force that keeps my taste buds high-kicking and begging for more.

What an amazing lunch my wife and I had today at Bombay Grill…read more We were there for a lunch event and boy are we glad we went. Let's start with my favorite, the butter chicken. The chicken was super tender. The sauce was exceptionally flavorful and the spice level was mild enough to not fry your tastebuds. There were so many delicious dishes (tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, vegetable curry, lamb and so much more) which is not surprising considering the award winning chef. Hasan, the Manager / owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to let us know the history of the dishes we were eating and his family's journey that brought them (thank God) to the treasure valley. This place is a treasure in the Boise area and should not be missed whether you are ordering a phenomenal takeout, having a spectacular lunch or grabbing a one of a kind dinner. If you want a great, flavor filled dining experience you have got to try Bombay Grill

Pros: * They have a nice and popular lunch buffet (which comes with personal fresh naan) * The Naan is decent * The Tikka Masala has a nice flavor * Portions are large * Food comes out fast * They are open on Sundays Cons: * Service can be scattered... sometimes it is good, sometimes inconsistent depending on how busy it is * Music can be a bit loud / high energy * Last few times I was there, I had a lazy fly circling my table * The rice doesn't taste that good... rice is so cheap, so the owners should upgrade to a better basmati for a quick boost in quality * If you want something with any heat, you have to order Indian spicy/hot (as the regular "Spicy" tastes more like medium. I have never ordered above this though so I am worried it might jump to being too hot. * Some of the dishes I find favorable (especially the cream ones, but some of them are a bit bland (like the Vindaloo, Curries and Rogan Josh). They are still enjoyable, but if I order a Vindaloo I want it to pop. Overall, a solid place for dine in or takeout. I would recommend the lunch buffet if you want to try this place out first before committing to a larger meal.

The food was…read morereally good, service was friendly, and the overall vibe was good I've been there a few times in the last year, and my family + guests who come with us notice the lack of quality. My mom called ahead for a reservation in their private room and received confirmation it was all set, but when we got there, the host said there was no record. Instead of being kind and understanding that things can get mixed up, the host suggested my mom never made the reservation, even after she shared the name of the host she spoke with previously. Eventually we were given a table in that room but it was barely put together. We had to ask them to remove some of the tables believe 3 tables was more than what we needed, and the demeanor towards us felt as though we were an inconvenience. The food took a long time to come, as did the servers. I kept having to ask for more water and remind them because they'd forget. I just went there recently for rehearsal dinner, and the service was not good. The appetizers took almost an hour to come out, drink orders weren't taken for a half an hour, and the food didn't come until almost 2 hours. I wasn't the only one who noticed a lack of attentiveness. The food was average, for the price point it was not worth it. I know what it's like to have an off day, and I worked in the food industry as well. I'm truly not a person who leaves negative reviews because I know what it's like to have days where i'm not at my best. I've worked when I'm understaffed, operations aren't going as planned, etc. I didn't consider leaving a review until my last visit because the lack of kindness from the servers to everyone and overall poor experience happened again. It's a bummer that something changed, because it really was one of our favorite places to go but given poor experiences (we've had more, just didn't share) considering happening we won't come back.

Younger Hispanic gentleman that was awesome. Seriously though everytime we go there George is always there and rude as hell. He needs to remember if customers were not going there he would be out of a job & no money: a couple years ago I made arrangements with the manager for a birthday party. The manager was out of town the day of the party but George tells me I said this amount of people were going to be here & there was not so he was going to charge me $228 extra. Some of the people at the party came to early and paid for themselves so I told him he could refund them since I paid for their meals then. I told him that I can't go to these peoples homes and drag them to the party @ Golden Corral. Towards the end of the party the assistant manager asked to speak to me. He said George of the jungle was wrong for what he did and he was refunding me the money. George just needs to GO!!
