Very disappointing in terms of food taste and quality. Went here for a coworker's retirement party. We were all packed into this tiny party room where barely anyone could fit into a table. We got our drinks fairly quickly. It took an hr for us to be allowed in the salad bar. I ate a small amount so not to be spoiled. When it came time for our meals it was a weird buffet style meal. The "fillet mignon", onions and mushrooms were just regular beef. Juicy meat but some of us were expecting a big piece of meat to cut. The tongs were like those old school hand resistance training thingies. The pasta hardly had any taste, the best thing was the chicken parm and mashed potatoes. The servers were okay. But they were spilling drinks around the tables. It was very cold and uncomfortable inside from people opening the door. They could have closed the door to our party room so it wouldnt get so drafty. I would've liked ice cream instead of Costco cake for dessert. It was also full of drunk people shouting all evening. But what was more important was saying goodbye to a very kind colleague. Went to Chucks for out wedding anniversary dinner and we have a mixed review. On the good side the place looks nice and all servers and waiters were very polite. Lester did a good job serving us. We enjoyed the open salad bar and ambiance of the place. For a rainy Monday the place was pretty packed with locals. The steaks were very good. Ordered two 20 oz bone in rib eyes medium rare and the steaks were cooked to perfection. The downside of this review should actually be an easy fix; The sides! The cream of spinach was not good. It did not look fresh, and my wife and I go to many steakhouses and can tell right off the bat just by looking at the cream spinach that it was not going to be good. The mashed potatoes were cold ! Presented in a way as it was not made from scratch and there was not any gravy offered either. Lester took the spinach off the bill and we ordered fries. Overall we had a good time and I would like to go back to try their burger and Philly steak sandwiches. This place can really go from a 3 star to 4 or 5 easily if they would focus on the sides completing the official steakhouse experience. Drinks were good. Five of us went for dinner tonight, Christmas Eve. The service was great and we all loved our meals. We have come here several time but this was my least favorite time. One member of our party of 6 is vegetarian and the menu used to have eggplant on it, or at least a vegetarian pasta dish. However, that was discontinued and while they did make considerations for the dietary needs it is not the same as offering a meal that was planned with those dietary preferences. The waitress, who was very nice, suggested the salad bar. Considering that this is a high end restaurant that is not acceptable. When I spoke to the Maitre 'd on the way out, he tried to shut me down. I doubt that I will try it again when there are so many other restaurants that try to do the right thing and make you want to come back. Major Disappointment! It's a long drive from Eastchester but hey if you want steaks thats cooked right the way customers desire. This is the place to go to. There's parking. Food is delicious , they have a Special of the day menu. The price for their food will not break your wallet. It's worth it. There's a salad bar. Their deserts are to crave for. The service is average , depends how busy it is at that time and day. Your servicer can be tired and burned out. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a cabin with a burning log. The salad bar is very dated and mediocre but still a minor hit. My wife got the filet mignon tips in au-poivre sauce over mashed potatoes. MEat was cooked perfectly but he sauce was generic and pre packaged. However my Tomahawk ribeye was actually a good cut and good quality. Cooked perfectly to medium rare it was delicious as I had mine with mushrooms on top. The loaded baked potatoe was actually a side of loaded mashed potatoes? I hosted a party for 50 people for my husbands 80th birthday party in January 2026 and it was extremely disappointing. Chucks fell short on all aspects. The biggest disappointment was the service and the food. I paid for the top-tier menu and open bar with clear assurances about the setup and service. When I got there the room was not set-up and dirty dishes still had to be cleared from the party they had the night before. I was moving tables and putting table cloths on when I got there. My guests were sitting for almost 1 hour before they received water and soda and asked if they wanted a drink from the bar. I had to ask for everything. The appetizers weren't put on the table until I asked they came hour and a half later. I paid for Bruschetta for the tables and each person only received one piece each and it was horrible that cost 3.00 per person. They have a salad bar that was the only thing that was decent my quests served themselves. When the food finally was served two and 1/2 hours later the quality was poor and far below what is expected from a steakhouse of this reputation and price point. Samatha the server was having a meltdown. I really didn't blame her at one point she was trying to accommodate 50 people by herself. I was trying to hold it together but all the quests were noticing. I went to the owner Tom and Tony the manager and another women multiple times for help. My stress level and my daughter's were through the roof. When the food finally started coming out half of the food came out cold and Samatha the server had no idea who ordered what. They also ran out of food that was on the menu that I paid for. Some of the quests ate one hour after everyone else ate because of all the problems. The biggest issue was they didn't have enough waitstaff and my party suffered and so did my quests. I even cut and served the cake because the servers did not. I reached out through email multiple times to Tom, Dean & Tony with no reply. The only person I heard from with a phone call was Tony the manager stating how sorry he was they fell short on all levels that he was going to send gift cards to rectify the situation. They were never sent. I never heard from Tom or his son Dean. I also want to say this wasn't my fault this was clearly the owners fault for ruining my husbands party. I also asked for my receipt that was never given to me on all emails. I'm still waiting for that. This was meant to be a special celebration and instead became an embarrassing experience for both me and my quests. Again, simple order for us, my mother and I ordered the same thing, the beef tips cooked the same way and my daughter ordered the prime rib. The waiter told us to help ourselves to the salad bar. He was very polite and friendly. We got our salad and everything is going good, except we had no silverware. I had to go find a waitress near the salad bar for the silverware. So far we're in the restaurant about 15 minutes. New customers were seated near us now. 2 people. Their order was taken. Within 15 minutes their food was brought out. We're still waiting. Another half hour goes by and we still haven't received our food. No one has even checked on us, only the person taking our salad dishes away. Now it's 45 minutes, and still no food, no refills of water, no waiter to be found. I told my family that I'll give it another 15 minutes. 15 minutes go by, nothing. My uncles husband insisted on taking my husband and myself out for a steak dinner, and wanted to go to Chuck's. We hadn't been there since their re-opening, so we were looking forward to it. Upon entering, the manager greeted us by saying Merry Christmas, and asked if we had a reservation, we did not, but he said it was no problem. Our uncle had recently had a hip replacement, and asked where we would be seated, (I'm assuming he asked because he was still having difficulty walking, and might have wanted to ask for a close table.) The manager replied, "you'll sit where I put you." Okay, we chose to take it as a bit of humor, and we wound up sitting close to the entrance anyway. We get our menus, and the "specials" menu was a little confusing, because it was Saturday, and the specials menu said it was for Sunday. The manager happened to be walking by, and my husband asked if the menu we were handed might have been given to us by mistake. The manager assured him that EVERYTHING on the menu were the specials of the day. We were still a little confused, because the menu specified certain days when other meal options were available. We then all decided to order the prime rib (Monday - Prime Rib), it may not have been Monday, but it was a specific day on the specials menu. So, when placing our prime rib order with the waitress, she informed us that the prime rib was only available on the day indicated. Derp. Okay, we moved on from that, and we all three decided on the "cowboy rib-eye". From here on, I can only tell you what I experienced with my meal. I ordered the steak and a side of creamed spinach. The $46.00 steak was huge, but very difficult to cut. I had to saw at it, and in trying to do so, ran into so much gristle that it was almost inedible. My creamed spinach was extremely watery and had no seasoning at all. My uncle was sitting next to me, and I saw him repeatedly removing the steak he was chewing, and putting it onto his plate. I was having the same trouble chewing my steak, but I just kept chewing until I could swallow it. Creamed spinach is my very favorite side, so I was willing to overlook the tough as nails steak to enjoy the spinach, but the waterlogged side I received failed that simple assignment. I wish I could have been able to give a positive review, but I just can't. I will never want to go back to Chuck's, even if invited. I am not sure if it's really old reviews bringing this place done but I went and had an excellent meal, attentive service , very clean and rustic charming ambiance. I tried to bring 1/2 home to family but 2 hours stuck on n Jersey Turnpike finished the order and it held up. For main I ordered sliders was debating on soup and salad bar but the salad bar was ok but not sure enough to justify the price. It would be excellent I am sure when it's included in your entree The sliders were super tasty and filling and fries were great balance of crispy and not too salty. I come here for salad bar - which is good and fairly priced. One issue is the customer service. One time I had a server pressure me to buy something else - I finally told them to stay away from me. Another time I had a waitress be cleverly rude - we walked out. The last few times I've sat at the bar and that's been fine until the last time I was there. First, the host didn't seat me. Next, I sat at a table and there was cold air blowing from a closed area. So I moved to a different table - but it was wobbly. So I moved back to the first table. The bartender got a little snotty - and I got ignored the rest of the time. I still left a 20 plus percent tip. Also, overall, the staff isn't particularly friendly. The old chucks closed in Fall of 2023. New management took over and they are now reopened. We had reservations for 4 guests at 7. We arrived and our seats and table were ready. She took our drink orders and apologized if the service is slow because the bar was backed up with orders. Little did we know that wasn't the only part of the restaurant backed up. Our drinks came in a reasonable time. The waitress did not take our order then but came back 10 minutes later. We then ordered. It was 730 pm now. Chucks still maintained their salad bar and it was included in the price if you ordered an entree which we all ordered. The salad bar was a bit smaller than previously but everything was fresh. We waited 90 minutes to get our dinner. Apparently the kitchen was understaffed and our dinners were delayed as well as many other tables. Our waitress pretty much disappeared during this time never informing us that the entrees would be coming out later. Finally around 9 pm- yes 9 pm ! Our entrees came out. My 8 oz fillet looked so small on the dish it was served on. I ordered medium well- it was more like medium rare. Another person ordered medium rare and it was rare. She couldn't finish it. My wife's chicken was a bit undercooked and was sent back for a new chicken breast. The steak was good but why the 90 minute wait to be served? We did have dessert and then left. Overall not terrible but definitely not like the old chucks. Never waited so long for a dish. I felt like I was in a reality tv restaurant show with the slowness of getting our meal.
