I ordered a basic, beef hard shell taco and it was yucky. I barely ate it. It's hard to screw up a taco but this one had a mushy shell, no flavor to the beef and little to no lettuce, cheese, etc. Added salsa to it to jazz it up and it didn't help. I rack it up to the worst taco I've ever had. My friend ordered the fajita quesidilla and she liked her food. It looked appealing. I'm not sure what happened to the awesome chips they used to have (this was several years ago). I didn't even eat the chips and salsa. Chips are lousy - greasy, awful flavor and texture and salsa is no big shake. We ordered queso and again, hard to screw up queso, but it was so runny like water and had no flavor. We didn't even eat it. What really disappointed me is the lack of care around the restaurant. The doors and windows are so smudged up and dirty. It makes it feel unclean. Most of the booth cushions were ripped up. At first he sat me at at a table that's cushions were all ripped up. I would have been sitting on the innards of the booth. Second booth was a slight improvement - but still big, wide rip on the seat. Super bummed on how this restaurant has changed so much. I used to drive from Rochester to eat Mexican there because it was so good. It's safe to say that this was my last time there. Hope they listen feedback and make improvements. Like to support small businesses - but this spot needs a lot of TLC.

The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate. We stopped and grabbed some drinks, I got a beer and then saw the drinks of the month and had to try the watermelon mule. It was fantastic! Really enjoyed it! The hubby just sipped on a beer. We got 2 small buckets of rocks for $2 and went to the area to throw some rocks. The $1 a bucket was totally a great deal and simple enough without dropping major money on something so novel, but also really great. The service was a bit to be desired as despite multiple bartenders (and not many people) it took a while to get drinks or service, but the quality was great of the drinks.

We got a bucket of rocks to toss at the wall filled with lots of metal objects, a chime, some Tonka trucks. They also had a fun crane that you can pickup blocks and try to stack them up or build something. The venue is an old Hastings building that has a ton of character. The Tap Wall has a good variety of beers and ciders. They change them up weekly. The costs per/ounce seems reasonable. They have the types of beverage broken down by type (IPA/Dark...) which is helpful. The cost/ounce varies depending on what you are getting. We tried several different menu items and all were good - the three different kinds of cheese curds along with the wide variety of wings (both bone in and boneless). They also have a lot of great sauces to add to your wings or curds. I also tried the Caprese flat bread, yum. We also tried a couple of the specialty cocktails, I really like the Honey Jalapeno Marg! The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had.

What really pushed me over the edge was an experience I had a year ago. My friends and I had made our way down to Carbones to buy some wings from their promotional event. During our time there we had waited for 30 min...then another 30 min and then another 30 min! Eventually, we got up and approached our waiter to ask where our food was. We were told that it would only be a little bit more time. So we waited about 30 more minutes and finally our food came out. To our surprise the wings that we ordered were all undercooked. When mentioning this to our waiter, and thus the general manager, she seemed very, VERY annoyed with us. Keep in mind that we had been waiting for about two hours. The general manager immediately snapped back asking what was the problem with food, even though it was obvious that they forgot about us and rushed our order (thus the raw wings). rather than admitting that they were undercooked, she said she would make us an order again more to our "liking" if you can't believe it, this isn't even the worst part of our experience! . When it came time to pay the bill we were informed the credit card service was off-line and we had to make a cash payment. We didn't know what to do because we did not have cash. The general manager came and informed us that we had to go to an ATM and withdraw cash. However, she made it very, very clear that we were not allowed to all go together, implying that we were going to try to "steal the food" and by implying, I mean, she said that , "You better not all leave, one of you has to stay". What made me so upset about this interaction is that we were the ONLY people of color inside of the restaurant and she did not have the same tone of voice or language with any of the other customers AT ALL! I paid very close attention to how she spoke to the other customers. It was not our fault that their credit card service went down, but the fact that she demanded that one of us stay while someone had to go to the ATM was so disrespectful. Keep in mind this was the manager saying this! We had been to Carbones multiple times before this, and we always tipped! It seems there was only 1 reason for her to treat us like this.... We ended up sending one person out to the ATM to collect cash and STILL left a tip because it was the manager treating us poorly not our waiter. Would not recommend this place to anyone!
