I was so excited to try Chula Tacos! However, that faded quickly. The staff here was so unfriendly and not welcoming at all. When i walked in, every single employee looked miserable. The cooks, the guy unloading the truck, everyone. No eye contact and very straight faced. The cashier was very standoffish and was just not welcoming at all. As we stood in line, a young man with a hat pushing a dolly came in and rudely asked for us to " stand on the other side of the posts, thats where the line is supposed to be". No "excuse me " no "please", just plain rude. My first thought was: please put a sign, arrows on the floor or something indicating of where to stand in line. We were simply following the line thats all. Better yet, ask nicely, not as if we're standing there to eat for free! We ordered 4 Kekas and were give 2 salsas. Two! We asked the cashier if and where to get more salsa and she asked " did they not give you any?" We responded yes, but only 2. She simply walked away and asked someone to grab them for us, never even addressed us again and no, she wasnt busy. Yuuuk!!!! How snotty and rude! Maybe the staff left a sour taste in my mouth all before I had the opportunity to taste the food , but I was not impressed at all. The service ruined it and the hype was a let down. This place is a no for me. They hype did not live up. Snotty, arrogant, smug people...is not it folks!! There are plenty of other places that supersede in all aspects. This place was packed. We had to take ours to go because there was no place to sit inside. People were hovering over tables waiting for people to leave. The parking is tough too. I wouldn't take stars off for that, but what was unforgivable in my book was the old guacamole. It had already started to oxidize and had that slightly bitter taste. Too bad-- everything else was amazing-- salsa, meat, fresh corn tortillas, portions....You just cannot make a huge portion of guacamole and let it sit exposed to air for any length of time. Well-- judging by how packed this place was I guess you can-- but I'll stick to Tacos el Gordo or Tacos El Main. Maybe they got too popular on social media and haven't figured it out yet. These tacos really taste like Tj tacos, they're made with handmade tortillas and they're really big. We had tacos, mulitas, torta, vampiros and the kekas, everything was so good including their aguas frescas. When we arrived there wasn't much line but as we were waiting for our food a lot more people started to show up. We went on a rainy day, the place is outdoors, but they have sturdy canopies that saved us from the rain and their heaters from the cold. The only complaints I have is that I ordered my tacos with no onion and they came with a lot of it and the wait time was a little long, but it was worth the wait. read more

Not a fan of this place. I prefer Franc tacos in Bonita Mall. Always find parking and a table. Food is great. Here is mediocre with a good chance of getting you sick. After reading and searching about Chula Tacos. They closed down their last location due to uncleanliness and finding rat poop in their kitchen. Eat here at your own cost and health. Been meaning to check place out since they were on Market but finding parking was always tough. Now that they got their storefront decided to check it out. Ordered the Keka to go and while seated and waiting I noticed the chili oil on the table. I was excited to try on my Keka. Received my order and checked for salsa/oil in bag. No oil. So I asked the young lady for a little salsa cup so I can put some chili oil to go. She proceeded to tell me that the chili oil is only dine in customers. I said "WTH, I'm trying to enjoy your product with what is offered." Who does this????? She was about to hand me a little cup but I could tell she was weary and even told me, "I could lose my job." I had read great reviews for Chula Tacos and looked forward to try them as I never had. Unfortunately, the new place in IB did not live up to reviews of other Chula Tacos establishments. It was truly disappointing. The tacos were well served with meat and avocado etc., but they were void of taste! They had no taste of carne asada whatsoever. The meat tasted as if it had been boiled then warmed on the grill. Drinks such as horchata were not good either. It was chalky-white without cinnamon. It tasted like a version of horchata but was clearly from a package. Service was good. Parking is horrible. If you drive into the restaurant from busy Palm Ave you may not find a spot to park. Adobada tacos were tasty and great for the price of $3.50. My wife loved the labios tacos because they tasted like a cross between lengua and cabeza. Only place I know of in the South Bay that has labios. Highly recommended but parking is hard when busy. read more

Carne asada is really good! Pastor was flavorless (Tacos el Gordo pastor is way better) plus they use regular guacamole. Torta bread was too soft causing it to all fall apart. The kicker... make sure you don't need a box or foil paper cuz they will charge you for it!! What place charges for to go boxes?? Had I ordered my food to go I wouldn't of been charged that fee! So if you know you most likely won't finish your food, save yourself the time and order your food to go! In response to Rigobertos comment, let me clarify I was not yelling or did I ask for a box disrespectfully. It is not about $0.50, it is the principle of the fact! I stood there for several minutes while 4 girls just looked at each other, not knowing what to do or say!
