    Steak tacos

Delicious texmex food with Texas-sized servings. Our waitress was so kind and fast. $6 margarita?! Sign me up! I got the steak tacos, which were phenomenal. The house jalapeño dip changed my life.

We had a wonderful lunch, and we are super sad there is not a Chuy's near us. We were staying at a nearby hotel, and we had just enough time before the wedding to grab lunch. We loved the decor with the fun lights and cactus all over! The chips, salsa and ranch jalapeño dip were all soo good. My husband got a beef and chicken taco that he enjoyed. I got the chicken flautas and I loved them...all cute and little with a smoky chipotle sauce...must try with sour cream and gauc on top!

This is supposed to be the Tex-Max Burrito bowl (I did order without meat/dairy)

I am visiting from out of town and decided to order for curbside pickup since I'd had a long day of travel. I placed my order at 7:58pm and was told my order would be ready at 9pm. I arrived at the designated curbside pickup space at 8:49pm and texted my arrival as instructed. Fast forward to 9:30pm and still no food/update so I called the restaurant. An associate came out and told me it would be another 15-20 minutes. When I expressed my frustration, she went on to tell me that people in the restaurant were waiting 30+ minutes for their food to which I replied that it had been nearly TWO HOURS since my order was placed. About 10-15 minutes later someone came out and handed me my food, which I took back to my hotel. The photos here show what I was given. The bowl was cold, missing ingredients and just overall disappointing, the guacamole was turning brown and half the container was filled with shredded lettuce (why?!) and the margaritas were barely halfway filled. This meal was $45!!! This is a complete RIPOFF! I would say I'm never coming back, but I don't live here to have to worry about that. I just hope my review saves someone else from blowing almost $50 on a "meal" from this place like I did. I'm going to guess this subpar food/service is why there is no way to contact them through their website. How convenient.

The chips and salsa are great! But the Chicken fajitas were so dry and burnt! It was so bad that part of my chicken was part charcoal!!! The beef fajitas were also dry and burnt. I was surprised they didn't throw away the food, which was truly not edible!! Instead they gave it to us! This was a to go order. But on top of being served burnt fajitas, they forgot to give us tortillas to eat our fajitas with!! We ordered one beef / chicken fajita combo and an order of chicken fajitas. Neither order had tortillas. Also, we only got one serving of the salsa, etc; which we should have gotten two, one for each order. I'm a Texas native, so Chuy's is one of my favorite places, so it was so disappointing to have to go thru this horrible experience with the Chuy's here in Dayton. Sadly, the meat was simply tootough to even chew, we ended up having to fill up on the chips and share a tiny itty bitty container of salsa, the size which could maybe only hold a scoop of butter. We thought perhaps we could make ourselves a bowl, like they do in Chipotle, but the burnt flavor permeated the rest of the ingredients which were not quite enough to even make a bowl.

The table was dirty but the waiter was mostly prompt. I think the manager was running around bussing tables and serving, so they were probably short handed. But one of the bus boys was doing a lousy job cleaning. We let it go... I think my burrito was wrong... it wasn't the fajita chicken. Also my wife's taco was chewy and flavorless. Rice was dry and didn't taste like it doesn't usually here.

I found a roach in my food and just can't bring myself to return. I've attached photos below. When I showed the manager, he was very apologetic and gave me a voucher for a free meal. I wish I could give it another try, but one roach in the beans is too many for me.

We had a fantastic time this evening. Our server, Kelsey, was cool, super sweet, and attentive. Everyone in our party loved their food. From the tacos, to the quesadilla, to the fajitas... not one part of our meal needed improvement! We will definitely be back! THANKS AGAIN!

Chuy's is pretty good! It's not my go-to for Mexican. However, if I'm in the area, up the street at Dorothy Lane, and craving Mexican I'll stop by. I've been to this location a few times. The service is always good and the food is always decent. As most Mexican restaurants, Chuy's starts you with chips and dip. They give you salsa and their house jalapeño creama dip. Both are good, but the jalapeño dip is really good. It's got a little kick to it and it's creamy. I also like it because it's different. You can't get that sauce at most other restaurants. You can get salsa anywhere and most taste pretty standard. I ordered the Quesadillas and my husband ordered the Enchiladas. Both dishes are good. We honestly didn't have any complaints. It's typical Mexican food. It was seasoned and good. Was it the best we've ever had? No, but it's always good enough. They are also good for kids as well. We ordered our oldest a kid's cheeseburger and fries. Overall, Chuy's is a good option if you aren't able to go to wherever your go-to is.

The decor wasn't over the top and the music wasn't loud. I decided on the shrimp tacos with black beans and rice. Very tasty. The sauce on the side is way too spicy for me. I didn't need it. My wife ordered the Fiesta sampler appetizer, they were shredded chicken. The chicken could have been seasoned a little better but not bad. She said she thought the beef might have been a better choice for her. Chips and salsa were good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. This place was closer than our usual restaurant, will be back

Bowling Soup wrote a song about my life titled, "come back to Texas" with the infamous line- "come…read moreback to Texas, besides the Mexican food sucks north of here anyway." This is hilarious and not always true. We come to Ohio to visit my husbands family and okay- I'll admit I don't trust Mexican food in states that don't border the beautiful country of Mexico. But this was a delightful surprise. I ordered a steak quesadilla and could have done without the extra cheese sauce poured over it. But the flavor overall was good. Rice and beans were also flavorful. I would have like a salsa that had a bit more spice and bite to it. Throw some habaneros, Serranos and tomato's together. Please!!! My husband ordered enchiladas and said they were good. The staff was super friendly and attentive.

Visited 26 JUL 24…read more When you are in a town where your spouse previously lived, you can stumble onto a place that she has been to. In fact she wasn't even aware this was a chain. We were in town visiting family. We were in between "events" and had time to have lunch by ourselves. We were both in the mood for something a little different than the other one the road meals we had been having. A bit of Tex-Mex sounded like the right thing as we were driving around and she was showing me old haunts. This is a decent place, it is exactly what you expect in terms of decor, music, aroma. It all well sets the mood for a pleasant border run experience. The furniture is substantial, dark, leather{ette}. Our server Maria, was engaging, effective and paid just enough attention to us on a weekday afternoon that we didn't feel quite neglected. There were a few occupied tables, including some ladies outdoors having mid-day margaritas. I suspect this location does well on the weekends and evenings, there is a good bit of housing around. Where it didn't quite come through for me was the food. It was adequate. My wife said it was what she remembered, solid and consistent. She had a beef burrito combo and I had chicken burrito combo. We both ate the entire serving (it was filling without being too much). My chicken was a bit "soggy" and the flavor was not committed to either Texas or Mexico. If we lived here, would likely come back and try some other things. Maybe have a drink or two- that might bring some additional flavor. I imagine they have mild-i-fied everything for a mid western audience. I suspect ordering in Spanish might get you the good stuff.
