Salsa and chips are great! Our family always orders the jalapeño ranch along with salsa at the beginning of meal. It is one of their signature sauces and they don't charge us extra for dipping. My husband likes their hatch chili sauce. Their chips are also good. I would give them five stars but there isn't something special I order on the menu to make me say Wow! If you asked my family they probably would give it a five because it is a 'go to' for us. Location is also convenient for all of us to meet. Chuy's has a great display of typical Tex Mex. I've had it both in and carry out. We often order out for work catered events, and it has always been a great spread and fan favorite. We typically get both steak and chicken fajitas, tacos, beans, queso, salsa, and guacamole. Our office particularly is fond of a jalapeño ranch dip as well. The fajitas are extra tasty and hold their flavor even when transported. I would definitely recommend when you need a taco fix. read more

I've been a big fan of Chuy's and a regular customer since they first appeared in San Antonio and I usually pop into one every time I'm in Austin. I visited the new location on I-10 just a couple of days after they opened and they were packed. We waited for about 45 minutes to get seated. While we waited my husband worked his way up to the bar to order my "usual" --New Mexican Martini--but they had run out of the spicy mix so I had to settle for a normal Texas Martini which made the wait seem a even less bearable. Round 2, however I got spicy concoction and we were back in business. I order my "usual" for dinner as well--chicken fajita quesadillas on corn tortillas with a side of creamy jalapeno sauce. Now, I'm not sure if it was the kitchen or the server but both my meal and my husband's came out completely wrong, which is forgivable since it was day 3 of being open and they were very apologetic. All in all, this location has all the flavor and Chuy's "flair" of the other locations and I'm sure it will continue to be busy as people along the I-10 corridor discover how awesome it is. read more

Unfortunately, I must have over-optimistic nostalgia, because the food was mediocre and the service somewhat awkward and depressing. Our group was ladled watery salsa and oddly sour chips. This location was much more playful in attitude and layout. The food was also different. Not better not worse. Just different. My Boom-Boom sauce seemed a bit creamier The creamy jalapeno sauce seemed chunkier. These differences really gave it a feel that it's not a twin restaurant but a sister restaurant. We were seated promptly. The waitress brought us chips, salsa and the jalapeño sauce! It was all delicious!! We also ordered the fundido queso! Wasn't what we expected but had never been there, it was really good!! The waitress made sure that we always had tea and chips! After being there a little while, the manager came and told us the reason our food was taking so long, we hadn't even realized it had been that long, lol. They comped us not one, but two free desserts for our wait!!! Samantha was our waitresses name and she did an amazing job taking care of!! So... I'm gonna put this out there so no one has to go through this and hopefully they don't let this CRAP Happen Again! We didn't get our food for over 1 and a half hours! We were told after an hour they lost our ticket and then took 25 more minutes to bring our food. The manager then comes saying oh it's on me sorry blah blah blah, when they told us 30min earlier an hour after we ordered he would come by... like common man. Then I asked for Charro Beans, the manager brings me refried beans saying oh I know you ordered charro I'll bring those right out. Well it's been another 10min and he forgot so I'm writing a bad review. And to be honest I was a server when I wa a younger, no freaking way I look at my table sitting there for an hour and don't figure out somethings up, 15 min I woulda been on the kitchens ass. Like for real... Then to top it off the pork is not even good. So whatever, with so many choices if your not a local and wanna eat somewhere good, Skip this place. Sorry Chuys try harder next time. Just as good as the location at Northwoods (I'm a regular there!). They definitely have their recipes down! Fast service, friendly staff. Always ask for the creamy jalapeño sauce with your chips & salsa. I don't venture far from their enchiladas, but before I was GF the chuychanga was heavenly. This was our first time here. The salsa that comes with the chips is delicious!!! It is tangy and just the right level of hot to enjoy. Also we ordered the creamy jalapeño and it's pretty great. It's a mixture of ranch and jalapeño. We liked mixing it with the red sauce the best. What really makes a place like this great is the server. The girl that helped us is named Natasha and she was amazing!!! She kept the chips and salsa coming, had a fun personality, and was happy to make suggestions. It's really loud in the restaurant but it adds to the experience because so many people are laughing and having a good time. The food is good and the prices about average for a TexMex place. Stopped at 12 noon to watch the football game in the bar. I waited 10 minutes before anybody approached me for my order. They said I can only order appetizers at the high top tables in the bar and regular food at the "Bar" bar. I have never know a restaurant that would not let you order a meal in the bar. My husband and I are weekly patrons, 3-4 times a week. A couple of weeks ago we met for lunch. He ordered a taco al carbon chicken. When he bit into it his upper roof of his mouth hurt, as almost something was poking him. We immediately requested the manager because we found a sharp metal object in his taco. Justin was trying to get the manager. It took about 20 minutes before someone came after asking multiple times and my husband bleeding . The response from the female manager was oh yeah it's from the grill brush we will comp your meal. No apology, nothing else. As patrons of this establishment that we know most of the staff by name it was disheartening to get that response. With the constant change in managers the quality has slipped since Pete has left. We haven't been back in 3 weeks, and we would be there 3-4 times a week with our kids and family. We were in corpus and that chuys is right on par, the quality you use to be able to get at I-10. I've been to Chuy's now 2 times. Despite the long wait (this place gets packed) it is a good option for Mexican food. Cool upbeat atmosphere. My complaint about some Mexican restaurants in the area is that your order doesn't come with chips and salsa, well here it does. The chips are the good paper thin kind with red and green salsa. Both times the wait staff were very attentive even with a packed house. I ordered the vegetarian combo my first visit which was really good.
