Chuy's has really changed a lot. Used to be one of my favorite places. I understand with Covid that many businesses had limited menus, but most have returned to full menus. Chuy's no longer has the Elvis chicken, the chile rellenos, or any combo platters. There's a lot more that's missing but you get the idea. I ordered the Chuychanga tonight with beef fajita. There was hardly any meat and every piece was full of chewy fat. I hope they return to how they used to be. I miss those chile rellenos. Until then, I probably won't be returning. read more

Chuys is just all around great tex mex food. Margs are good, strong, come in good sizes. I absolutely love their burritos, and the boom boom sauce and the creamy green salsa they give you with chips are really what make it great. Service is usually pretty good. This most recent time at this location the restaurant was pretty empty, so our server was very attentive and our food came very quickly. If you haven't had Chuys, I definitely recommend! read more

We ordered pickup on a Saturday night, and it was quite easy to order. We pulled up the menu online and called in to place our order. I ordered the soft tacos with beef fajita meat and my bf ordered the beef fajita meat burrito. Mines came with a side of refried beans and rice in a separate container. It was delicious and tasted very fresh! My bf's burrito was pleasantly huge. He enjoyed it as well. They also provided chips and dip for us which was such a nice surprise. Ordered a chicken taco salad, beef fajita tacos on flour, and crunchy tacos. The crunchy tacos were how I remember them. Very mid and average. My husband had the beef fajita tacos he did not complain. What surprised me was the taco salad. It was just a salad. I use to order a few years ago from the westheimer location and I remember it having a shell. I looked it up after the fact and it seems as though it changed during covid. Big disappointment. Also the iceberg lettuce was already turning brown. The chicken was well seasoned and super flavorful. The menu is very limited now. Sometimes it's a little spicier than other times but it's just enough spicy for me to handle! :) It's the best to come here for happy hour (4-7pm) and get free queso in the bar. I dont know why but my friend and I had always thought Chuy's was just ok and wasn't top of mind when we thought Tex Mex, but our visit this time around changed our minds. I came in a party of 4 on a weeknight. While we missed happy hour, we still each got a frozen margarita ($10) which was delicious! I love the creamy jalapeno dip that comes with the chips as well. I got the Steak Burrito with the hatch green chili sauce and queso on the side - delicious and a hefty portion that I could only eat about 1/3 of it. Our waitress was busy complaining to another co-worker right behind our table that she got a "shitty" tip from the table that just left and now her shift was going to be even more miserable since she didn't even want to come in today and now she was getting bad tips. We are out of towners visiting and we looked up on the Apple Maps some places to eat. It said Chuys was open until 11 and we headed this way. We got sat a little before 10 and the rest of our party came a few minutes after 10. They proceeded to lock the doors to the restaurant. My family called me and asked me to help figure out what was happening so I went and ask a man up front to unlock the doors. He was extremely rude and had a big attitude when I asked to speak to a manager. Surprised my 8 y.o. with a surprised birthday dinner. We have a party of six, but only had three people when we had our name put on the list. Shortly after we ordered, the kitchen manager Matt Gonzalez came out to let us know that they were out of the Tex-Mex sauce that our kids had ordered on their enchiladas. He was very apologetic and recommended some other options, which turned out to be a hit. It was obvious that he values his customers and his restaurant. Our waiter was a bit frazzled as he had several tables to juggle. I did feel like the food was on the saltier side. I could see huge salt crystals all over the chips and it was just too much with the dips. However, I must say that the green dip was delicious! Ever wonder what a fiesta inside your mouth feels like? Come to Chuy's! With their festive decor (fake palm trees inside that give you an outdoors feel without being too cheesy), colorful mosaic walls, taco and burrito door handles (anyone know where I can get these for my house?), Chuy's makes you feel like you're physically at a fiesta. The food itself is great. They start you off with free chips and salsa (fresh and chunky). Make sure you ask for the jalapeño ranch sauce too (it's free) in case your waiter forgets to get it to you (which ours did, more on the service later). I usually order the steak burrito with the hatch green chili sauce on the side and double rice. The steak burrito is large and filling for one person with a juicy and tender steak filling. Chuy's knows how to make great sauces, as the hatch green chili never fails to make my taste buds happy. The boom boom sauce is delicious too if you'd like to substitute for a more creamy and equally satisfying sauce. The only cons I have about this Chuy's is the bad service I had here. Our waiter got two orders wrong, one being where he gave double rice to a friend of mine. She informed him that she hadn't asked for double rice and if she could get her beans and he said no problem and promptly brought her out some refried beans. Another friend asked for a boom boom sauce substitute for his steak burrito, instead of the hatch green chili, but his burrito came with no sauce. My friend informed the waiter about his missing boom boom sauce and the waiter brought the sauce right out. When we received our bill, the waiter charged us for an "extra" side of refried beans ($1.09) and an "extra" sauce ($0.99) even though the missing beans was his mistake, and the sauce was a substitute (Chuy's let's you choose whichever sauce you want without an additional cost) and not an addition. Our waiter also never came by to fill our waters, which is slightly irritating when eating hatch green chili anything because of the heat. Our waiter was extremely accommodating and even allowed us to store a cake in their restaurant fridge! In terms of the actual food, a friend and I shared a plate of nachos which tasted even better than they looked, and they looked INCREDIBLE. For my entree, I ordered the chuychanga, which was good but I found that the chicken in the dish wasn't seasoned well. We were happy with both experiences and plan to be regulars! The restaurant has indoor seating and a large outdoor patio, a bar, and the usual Chuy's fun decor. Our experience with the curbside to go ordering and pick up was great. The food was well packaged, it was hot and delicious. We recently went into the restaurant for the whole experience. Hostesses were friendly as was staff. We had a waiter who was training a new guy. They were both fine but I loved that the young new waiter was always smiling and present even if we got a little flustered sometimes. The chips and salsa were delicious and of course they serve the famous creamy jalapeno dip! We also ordered some queso which is a little spicy. The chicken chuychanga was delicious! My husband loved his deluxe chicken enchiladas. Everything we had we would get again both in the restaurant and to go! I'm betting that as the weather cools off and the mosquitoes begin to disappear, the large patio will become the place to hang out! Party of 15, it took an hour and a half for our server to put our orders in. Food came out promptly, but one of our friends didn't get her food. We waited another 15-20 minutes and the server never came back. She finally said something and he apologized for forgetting to put in her order. In comes the Manager, Kamel, to gaslight my friend by telling us that this wasn't their fault this happened, someone in our party took her burrito and just stood there, like "there's nothing we can do, go ask your friend for your food." What actually happened is another girl's food didn't come in so they just gave her a random burrito apparently and did nothing else! They just left. They didn't even check to see if everyone in our party got what they ordered . So this means 2 peoples orders were wrong. He then asked her if she still wanted to eat, he would kindly put her food in a to go box and the check. He took no accountability, no "I'm sorry you're sitting here after 2 hours with no food while your other friends are almost done eating. He then disappeared and our server brought a bag with my friends food inside and disappeared again. We waited another 30 min to get our checks I finally got up and told the server I couldn't wait for him to disappear for who knows how long to collect my credit card. At this point, friend no longer had an appetite from all the waiting around. We arrived at 630, didn't leave until 930. We talked to Kamel and he got super loud with us as if we were inconveniencing HIM for letting him know that we were not happy with the service, plus the long wait and we no longer were going to take the food, he rolled his eyes and took off abruptly and grabbed the receipt from the table and took off all dramatic. The main reason I go to Chuy's though is for that complimentary chips and ranch salsa. Soooooo good. While the food is good, the customer service here is absolutely horrible. Your waiter will take forever to come back to your table and check up on you. It's been a thing every single time my family and I go to Chuy's! They literally disappear and do not come out from the back for a good 15-20 minutes.
