Food is always top notch. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. My only complaint is very frustrating lag time to get refills on bread and beverages. They do not always see the glass empty and never offer more bread and oil. You always have to ask. Last time we asked and never received it. Where is the butter, garlic and creams that are found at other Italian restaurants? Not too many options with good Italian pasta dishes Very disappointed with the $12.99 calamari. They serve it with a very bland marinara sauce. It does not complement the calamari at all. I had to ask for a butter garlic dip. The waitress seemed put out that I even asked for that. It helped with the flavor of the calamari, but it did not taste like real butter. That same waitress also told us they ran out of bread which other staff was bringing it out to their tables. They give you four little pieces of bread while you're waiting. We asked for a refill after that she told us they ran out which we know is a lie. The pasta dish I ordered was missing flavor. I had a few bites brought it home and added garlic lemon and butter. Made a huge difference than I loved it. But I should not half to doctor up my own food when you pay a lot of money to eat at this restaurant. Cello and Compari's are my two favorite Italian restaurants. Held a luncheon after a memorial service today. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant and the service we received. They were so accommodating at every turn and the food was delicious. This is one of the nicer places where I have been to for a shower. I was disappointed it was a buffet setup but it turned out to be a pretty good buffet. The service was really nice and the food was tastier and fresher than I expected. The area we were in was roomy and nicely set up with table linens. They were great with refills on beverages and there was plenty of food to go around. Every member of staff we encountered was great to us. I liked the salad with a dressing that tasted house made, the chicken marsala and the tortellini diablo quite a bit. The chicken marsala was in a nice wine and mushroom sauce which wrecked it for mushroom hating James but made me happy. Luckily they had some parmesan whitefish he seemed to like instead but the fish was not appealing to me visually on the buffet line so I skipped it myself. All I could imagine was dried out delicate whitefish but my bite of his was decent. The tortellini was cheesy, had great peppers and onions and was in a garlic chipotle cream sauce so we both liked it. Some of the other stuff was meh. The veggie and other freebie accompaniments were nothing to gush about, typical buffet. The tiramisu was also just ok, I let James have most of mine. I would be willing to go back on our own if we are in the area. It would probably be even better if we could make our own picks on food. Overall though pretty darn good for a shower buffet. Lasagna is one of my favorite Italian dishes, both to make and to order out. I saw the four star rating of this restaurant and was eager to try it. The people are friendly and the decor is upscale. The Lasagna tasted like paste. The sauce was good but the pasta had no flavor at all....and tasted like paste. My wife had the Chicken Marsala which had a decent taste but was very very salty. The manager replaced the Lasagna with an order of Spaghetti and Meatballs. Again the sauce was good but the pasta was pastey and the meatballs tasted and had the consistency of something from a can. We were so very disappointed with our $80 meal that this establishment is not on our list of recommended restaurants. read more

Our second experience here didn't fare as well as the first. I'd need to mention that we came during a busy Saturday night and since there was a wait for the dining room we asked if we could sit in the bar at an open 4-top. The bartender said it was no problem, and then proceeded to split the tables sitting us closest to the wall leaving the other table nearest the aisle. Had we known they were splitting the table we would've passed on it. We were off to a great start with our server placing our drink order and then our app and entree orders. At this point another couple came and sat next to us from this point on we were second class citizens...our server kind of forgot about us. After taking their app and entree order she squeezed in to ask us for ours, again. A little while later they dropped off their calamari app and then ours at the same time, apologizing for the wait blaming it on a mistake in the kitchen. Fast forward to the entrees and again theirs came out at the same time despite our order going in ten minutes earlier than theirs. My wife's shrimp (Luca) came out lukewarm, tough and overcooked. My chicken Marsala was OK. When it came time for dessert our neighbors were asked if they'd like something, we were not and when their cannoli arrived they hoovered them and then asked for their check, our server still not reconnecting with us. We sat for a good 20 minutes, our plates untouched, until she eventually asked if we wanted our check. We paid, tipped and left, unlikely to return. A very generous 2.5 stars for this particular experience. read more

Pork chop dinner and Pasta Davinci. Started with fresh yummy bread, lightly crisp crust, dipped in oil & balsamic vinegar. The porkchop with spinach, mushroom and gorgonzola cream sauce was amazing! I literally wanted to lick the plate clean. Unfortunately the pasta davinci was bland and underwhelming. Tiny scallops aplenty but only three shrimp, which were overcooked. If/when we return, I'll probably stay away from the pasta and opt for a steak or chicken entree. Who am I kidding? I'll totally get the porkchop again! We shared a piece of pumpkin cheesecake for dessert which satisfied our need for a sweet ending. Our server was friendly and attentive and water glasses never ran dry. read more

My wife and I went to Ciao Amici's Saturday night on a Groupon purchase to see what it was like and I sure am glad I did! The interior was very nice, kind of upscale elegant touches with some rounded curved high back booths, all linen tablecloths and I liked the Italian drawings alone the far wall with the mural, nice touch. We were seated right away. On the way in was a comfortable looking bar area if you needed to wait or just have a drink or two. Our waiter Eddy was very good, courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. I decided to try one of three specials they had which was Salmon over crispy spaetzle and asparagus and my wife ordered the Veal Marsala over pasta and fresh mixed vegetables. Both dishes were maybe the best dishes we've ever eaten!! These are the kind of dishes you willingly pay more for because you can taste the quality of everything from the meat and fish to the seasonings, vegetables and bread with a great dipping oil...all superb, an absolutely perfect meal!! I've been to Ciao Amici's for a couple different events. The first was when my brother and sister-in-law arranged to take my mom here for a brunch and we joined them all (I think it was for Mothers' Day?), and the second was for a baby shower more recently. When we went for the brunch, it was a little more pricey than we expected. I personally seldom go for brunch buffets because I usually don't eat enough to make it worth my while. While the food was decent, I think they scheduled people later than they meant to, because the staff seemed to be hovering a bit and waiting for us to finish up so they could leave. I also couldn't find a restroom downstairs where we were seated, so it was a bit annoying to have to go upstairs again. The baby shower was a more pleasant experience. There was plenty of room, and it was a great venue for such an event. Being part of a private party, the food was good and there was enough to go around. Overall, it's not on my list of places I really want to get back to, but I wouldn't avoid an event that was held here. read more

Ok .. Staff very attentive. Food selections from the menu are classic Italian .. Also have the traditional pizza and steaks. I myself being an Italian food snob. Greatly enjoyed my Bolognese .. Fantastic fresh tomato flavor. A strong blend of fesh basil and garlic rounded out the sauce.. It had a nice texture overall due to the carrots being cubes in the sauce .. Not mention a smokey undertone of the prociutto.. I have it four stars because it was only one dish ... I was torn between 3 and 4 stars it gave them the 4 for the excellent waitstaff, hostess, water girl, etc. very attentive and pleasant. Enough so that I noticed how much I liked them right away. Kept everything filled and replaced throughout the meal. Gorgonzola salad included with the meal is a tremendous step beyond any side salad you've been offered anywhere else. Very nice! Ad we loved the basaltic and oil on the table with the wonderful bread! I thought the lasagna was a little mushy and heavy. Overlooked? And the side of meatballs a little dense as well. My mom ordered fettuccini al dente and they did a good job on that. Sampled three different martins and the best one was the pomegranate. Nice ambiance. I was hesitant walking in because I was in jean shorts since it was an unplanned visit. Everyone was very nice. They serve a really great fresh bread with a balsamic dipping oil. My sister ate my side Gorgonzola salad substituted with mozzarella. She said it takes fresh and clean. Halfway through she said she really liked it. She had pizza which was good. My mom had had just a side salad and said the balsamic dressing was good. They put just the right of of dressing on both. She really like the gnocchi. It was so cheesy when I took a bite, the cheese pulled out an extra gnocchi and flipped it all the way to my plate. We laughed pretty hard. I had the prosciutto wrapped chicken. A little drier than I hope but the flavors were light and nice. Lemon cake split for dessert. read more

When I'm in the mood for Italian, this is my go to. In the summer months we enjoy sitting on the patio and enjoying our meal while people watching. The food is great, the butternut squash ravioli is my favorite. The bread they give as a starter is so fresh and delicious. I frequent this restaurant monthly and have never had a bad experience. This place gets pretty busy in the summer so calling ahead to make a reservation is a good idea. read more

Went to Ciao Amici's for NYE dinner with a party of 6. We ordered full dinners, appetizers and drinks including a bottle of wine. I would say our bill was probably over $300 combined. The service was outstanding and the food was good as expected. I would leave 5 stars for the servers and kitchen staff but I have to take one off for the management. We are fairly regular customers and a few of us were expecting to get the Spaghetti Bolognese and Eggplant Parmesano, which neither was offered on the menu. Maybe because they are the lower priced items (by only $2), but when we order them, we order appetizers and I always get extra meatballs at $6 each which actually makes it a more expensive item. The prices were about $3 to $6 higher on literally everything and the menu was clearly different than usual. Thanks for extracting more money from your regular customers, hopefully you passed it on to your employees in the form of "holiday pay." read more

This was a nice looking place. However a complete waste of money. Chicken Marsala had a thick weird gravy that didn't belong. Service was terrible. Waitress couldn't give us doggy bags and a check fast enough. If two people have eaten almost nothing from their dinner plates, it would be appropriate to ask if the food was acceptable instead of giving you a box and a bill. We will not return! read more

We got carry out two days ago and it was fabulous. The meal was hot and delicious and right on time. Masked staff brought to our car and we could not have been happier! My family stopped in for dinner this past Friday evening. Everyone we encountered from the staff was very helpful and friendly. I loved the tasteful and charming Christmas decorations throughout the restaurant. Our server for the evening was Katie. She was a complete joy the entire time. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, very accommodating, and gave my family quite a few laughs. Food was delicious and very well priced.
