My husband loves this place for their rotisserie chicken, but to me, without the skin, it is bland. El Pollo Loco has more flavorful chicken meat. I asked my husband what the difference was to him, but he couldn't say (he said he doesn't like EPL). I ordered the Schwarma Plate which didn't specify the type of meat it had on the menu. Since it is a chicken place I assumed it was chicken, but I was surprised to get beef on my plate. The hummus tastes store bought and not homemade. I tasted a fry (steak style) and they were under flavored). The owner was present, but not helpful (when we inquired about a nutrition guide he simply said that chicken doesn't have calories... I absolutely love this place!! Okay so usually I order more elaborate things right? I like to think I have a sophisticated palate; this place just totally owns it with the simple stuff. My favorite thing ever is their rotisserie chicken and rice ESPECIALLY if my tummy is sensitive that day (always have to have your comfort food). Pretty much everything on their menu is delicious and everyone in my family loves it because there's something for everyone. I've been going here for years and it was one of my favorite places to eat. But alas, they are not what they used to be. First of all prices went waaaay up...i understand everyone raises prices due to inflation but paying over 17 dollars for a chicken plate that I used to pay 13 dollars a year ago is over 30 percent price increase! Spending $7.99 gets you a half chicken that tastes really good, crispy skin and soft on the inside... 2 choices of sides I always choose rice and hummus, and 2 pcs of pita bread. The garlic sauce comes for free with the meal and it's full to the top. It's always cold,clean and you feel very welcome coming in because I've been lucky getting to see this one girl on the counter that's always very inviting. And the Lula kabob here is the best I have ever had. The kabobs were cooked to perfection, very juicy and flavourful. The owner is a nice and welcoming person too. Got a chicken kabob plate, it came with two halved pita bread and two sides. I ordered hummus and coke slaw they gave very little coke slaw literally few bites. The hummus could have used more seasoning. The chicken kabob itself was tasty. Just the sides I ordered were a bit mediocre. You might do better ordering the half rotisserie chicken special for lunch. That's more of a bargain in terms of price and portion. This is a great lunch spot in Chatsworth. You can call your order in ahead of time and pick up your food to bring it back to your office. They have a pretty good size parking lot. It's in the same plaza as Robeks and House of Bread. Directly across the street from Trader Joe's and Smart and Final. I usually order the chicken plates or falafel. This was my first time coming here and I was not impressed with the service or the food. We went in there a little before 8:30 pm and the lady at the register asked us if we were dining in or ordering take out. We told her we wanted to dine in. She then said they were about to close in seven minutes, implying that we could only order take out. Why ask us that question in the first place if you're only going to end up sending us out? It didn't make sense and there were two other customers eating at tables. We ended up ordering a $6.00 chicken wrap. So one, the service was ridiculous. Secondly, the chicken wraps we were given were complete crap. It was tasteless and was put together in a rush. I then found a HUGE chicken bone in my wrap. The lady at the cashier asked me if I was planning on dining in or talking it out, when I replied dining in, she stated that they were not taking dine in orders! Why ask me if I didn't have a choice. Also they weren't scheduled to close until 9pm so why couldn't we eat there. Even as we ordered she wasn't the friendliest and seemed like she just wanted to close up and not attend to any customers. Another couple came in as we were waiting for our food, they too wanted to order the chicken, she was rude when she told them there was not any chicken left and was not apologetic at all. Serves roasted chicken, shawarma, falafel, kabobs; essentially all the items you would imagine getting at zankou. One of the most legit chicken rotisseries I've seen in a while. Their specialty is rotisserie chicken. There are wicked deals on chicken dinners after 4pm daily. The service friendly, and extremely accommodating towards every guest. Sure, they could probably get away with one server, but it would be a lot faster if they had two people at the front helping since it can get pretty busy.
