This was my first time eating here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as we walked in, the music was fairly loud and created a fun, energetic atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had to stop myself from salsa dancing while we were placing our order! When the food arrived, the presentation was beautiful. Unfortunately, the taste didn't live up to how it looked. The flavors just weren't quite there. It felt like there were too many competing flavors that weren't well balanced. Something seemed off, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. One thing I did appreciate was that the meal didn't feel as heavy as most Mexican food, which was a nice surprise. That said, it also didn't leave me feeling particularly satisfied. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since we ate there, after a while the loud music that initially made the place feel fun started to become a bit tiring rather than enjoyable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, I have very mixed feelings about this place. The atmosphere was lively and the presentation was excellent, but the food itself didn't quite meet my expectations.

We both got burritos and they were good. Carnitas had a lot of crunchy ends that I liked. We both got super burritos but they forgot to put guac and sour cream on the veggie burrito. Self serve salsa bar. All of the food coming out looked great. It was nice that they were open on the 4th of July.

3.75/5 I haven't had a burrito in YEARS. Taqueria Los Mayas as a gluten free tortilla! I got a burrito with added an avocado, chips and an elote! Salsa bar was nice to have accessible. $14 for a gluten free burrito, I can't really complain! I also don't have much to compare it to. To my surprise there was no avocado in my burrito, but the thing could barely close haha. The tortilla held together pretty well too! We also tried the fresh ceviche and that was flavorful. The elote was a table favorite. There is no actual service there an has a kiosk to order. But you buss your own table and do the sorting too! Staff was very friendly, the one I interacted with! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place isn't huge but there seemed to be the perfect amount of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Seems like they do a lot of online orders! I would come back again to try some tacos!

One of my go-to spots in the Inner Richmond and one of my fav Mexican spots in the whole city! I'm still working my way through the menu, but my favorites so far are as follows: - Chicken Mole Tacos - Pozole - Mango salsa - The paloma

Got the Cochinita Plate, which is their signature dish. Can't say I was really impressed by it. But I felt like they deserved another try, so I came back for their al-pastor burrito. And it was fantastic! One of the best burritos I have eaten around SF! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They keep the place clean and tidy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], staff was helpful and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are plenty of space to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You have the sauce counter with 3 different sauces. The mild sauce is dangerously delicious (little bit of a sweetness to it).

Amazing food, been going here for over 10 year and it's always been great. The best Mexican spot in the United States and I'm not even exaggerating. Exaggerating.

Burrito No supreme no cheese no cream Soy chorizo Small guacamole Pretty spicy soy chorizo added kick to burrito. Vegan penalty, charged $2 for supreme (crema and guacamole), but then showed no crema and cheese for my order I liked the small guacamole side despite other less favorable reviews[[HIGHLIGHT]]. Super busy when I first arrived but thinned out quick[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]ly. I would return return

A regular spot I go to, and came here for their taco Tuesday deal. They do three tacos for 12$ -- definitely recommend stopping by to try!

It had been years since my last visit, so I met up with a few friends here for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is small and casual, but the food was very good--it was far better than I remembered![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything tasted fresh and packed with flavors. I'm definitely coming back!

Me and my co workers love this place and get addicted with their special panuchos 2 for $10. Its so good with all the toppings on top and the fried taco with beans inside. Its really delicious that's why we always get them every Wednesday.

Absolutely banggggin' I was blown away by the quality of the nachos and tacos. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is poppin and often busy as it's self seating with a self serve salsa bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place for a brew after a long week.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Only areas of improvement id mention is the Al pastor meat was slightly bland with minimum taste. Second, this meal gave my friends and I the bubbliest of guts. Phewwww, who needs an olipop when you can come here. Big Mitch

This place was amazing. Good vibe and good music and the food was just what you expect. Smelled so good. Didn't want to leave. Churros were good as well highly recommend.

My coworkers enjoy Taqueria Los Mayas, so I've always been curious about it. After a work event, my coworker and I wanted to grab takeout and finish out our work day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is popular, customers come in and out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can order at the counter for either takeout or dine in. I chose to order online, and it was ready for pick up. All the staff who helped were efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of self serve at the restaurant and a decent amount of tables for diners.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the Cochinita Burrito, made a lot of modifications of removing items and adding some. As a Yucatán restaurant, I barely eat this cuisine so it was my first time having cochinita. It was a bit sweet and savory, a decent amount of meat. Everything else was good and the burrito was quite hefty. I'd be curious about trying their plantain burrito next. For those in the Richmond District, Taqueria Los Mayas is a good option for food. If you're looking for a burritos I always love the Mission District. I wouldn't mind coming back to try something else. Parking is street or neighborhood since they're off Clement Street.

For once in my life, I was forced to eat like a civilized man. On the outside, everything looked normal, but in the inside it was anything but normal: I had to open my third eye center so that I could ascend my primal instinct of going to town on this burrito. Equipped with a knife, I sawed thru that behemoth methodically - too fast and she would burst open, too slow & she would give me the cold side eye. I am the burrito slayer. Cash only, was very very well priced for the size (about $13. Receipt didn't make it out alive).

I have dined here many times in the past, and this is a cash-only restaurant. I ordered the Regular Burrito with Beef Steak ($10.25). The regular burrito comes with a flour tortilla, rice, beans, salsa, onions, and cilantro, plus your choice of meat or vegetarian. Meat choices listed on the menu: * Al Pastor - Marinated Pork * Carnitas - Deep Fried Pork * Chile Verde - Pork Green Sauce * Chorizo - Mexican Sausage * Carne Asada - Steak * Lengua - Beef Tongue * Pollo - Chicken * Cabeza - Beef Head * Tripas - Intestines I asked the cashier which meat was most popular, and he recommended the beef steak, which had a slight hint of spiciness. The burrito came with pinto beans and rice. I forgot to ask if I could substitute black beans. The burrito wasn't too salty, and the beef steak was just okay. I also think the $10.25 Carne Asada burrito is a good deal. At other taquerias, carne asada is often an additional charge or the burrito costs more when you choose steak. I usually ask for a receipt even when paying cash. When I checked my receipt, I noticed I was charged an additional $0.25 for "Bolsa To Go" (bag) even though I was dining in and didn't receive a to-go bag. It's not about the $0.25, but I think it's important for a business to have integrity and charge customers only for what they actually receive. I hope this isn't something being charged to other dine-in customers as well. Overall, I would come back to try a different meat, but next time I'll make sure to clearly say dine-in and check my receipt to make sure I wasn't charged for a to-go bag.

I ordered my usual, regular carne asada burrito. Well, unfortunately, the beef was dry and had little black charred pieces. I only could eat half and threw the rest out. If I tried to reheat the next day it would be more dry. I give La Taqueria two stars for the hard working people there taking care of hundreds of orders a day. Quality control has definitely changed from when this was my favorite Mexican restaurant thirty years ago.

A lot of people mentioned about the service, the mole, and birria. I am a big fan of birria tacos so I decided to give it a try. Because I would be coming from Philadelphia, I called to see if they have a reservation. Jose, the owner, who answered my call was super friendly and nice. He said that there's no reservations but he promised to secure some seats for us because the week prior they were really busy. At that point I knew that the service would be excellent. When I got there Jose and staff were super welcoming as if we've known each other for a long time. He gave 2 small plates of rice, red enchilada sauce, green enchilada sauce, mole with chicken tinga, and birria. Everything is super flavorful and authentic. It transported me to Mexico because I could taste the homemade cooking in it and the passion and love in preparing this amazing food. They take pride in the quality of their cooking. Both the chicken tinga and birria meat are tender and fresh. You can order the food at the touch screen at the counter. You can select your preference for the filling. My friend asked to separate the meat from the tortillas and separate consommé. Jose gladly accommodate her special request. Definitely above and beyond service. They provide complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are fresh and thin with 2 green sauce and two red ones. The staff warned us that the red onesie are hot. The salsa is very fresh and homemade. The mole sauce has a flavor that I can't find anywhere else. I could taste the chocolate but not very sweet. It's very unique and delicious. The red and green enchilada sauce are also phenomenal . Not too salty, yet light and packed with flavor. Their birria tacos are now one of my top ones that I've ever had. Very flavorful and not salty. Definitely recommend it. Guacamole is also a good appetizer because it is very fresh. The restaurant is clean with seatings at the front and back of the restaurant. I still cannot forget the taste of the enchilada sauce that blew me away. I left my heart in Cocina Mamá Cholita. Thanks you for a memorable dinner.
