Ate brunch on the balcony overlooking a Saint Raman's Circle in Sarasota. We were a large group of about 15, and I have no idea how they sat us and took our orders so quickly. Food arrived Pet quickly and most dishes were $10-$15. Extensive breakfast and lunch menu with lots of good things, ranging from steak tacos to cream cheese stuffed waffles with strawberries. Kids chicken fingers appeared to be homemade and better than Popeye's (my fried chicken standard). Drinks were about $3.95 and needed to ask for refills. Not automatic refill. Don't wait, just go ahead and ask when you want one. We had a really good time. Parking garage out back is walking distance and free on Sundays. read more

Service was good. My wife had fish tacos she thought were good. The fish was sautéed and mildly spiced. I had chicken nachos that were average. Needed more salsa. GREAT food and GREAT service! What else is there? Well, there is also a GREAT view of St. Armand's Circle from their balcony, and it's not expensive, either, so it's pretty much a home run on all counts. Unlike most restaurants, who tend to treat potatoes as an afterthought (Why?) and often serve up frozen, tasteless garbage that is undercooked, their "home fries" are perfectly golden brown with the most amazing flavor. And they are one of the few restaurants (only?) who know how to cook scrambled eggs. We went there for brunch, but they also have a decent-looking lunch and dinner menu. Great breakfast and nice patio! We ate here on a Saturday morning. We got there around 930 and Just barely beat the crowd. But once they got busy our service suffered a little. We waited a while for the check. Very friendly just not enough staff. I got the Cilantro scramble and it was delicious! I don't like spicy and the chorizo was perfect for me. Not hot! This place is a hidden gem! On the second floor above Columbia in St Armand's circle. Big selection of breakfast and lunch food--crepes, omelets and sandwiches--all freshly prepared to order. The view is great the customer service was amazing. But the food I HADDDDDDDD to eat beach we we paid $79 for Nutella waffle pancakes cilantro scrambled eggs and 3 tacos orange juice mamosas and a beer. It's not how much we payed for it that upset me. Nice server. Below average service. Tacos were 3 out of 10, although fresh, they were somewhat tasteless and totally fell apart all over the plate with every bite. After our food came we never saw the server again, even after my water glass was empty. Also - we were served chips with our salsa that were on the verge of being stale. The chips and salsa weren't on the menu, so when we got out bill three were beyond over charged at 9.00 for them. Yuck!!! In summation - 3 out of 10 for total review. The waffle was mediocre at best because the batter was lacking in taste. Soggy and not thick enough or done through. The view is nice of the circle on days like this but the fruit bowl is one to go for. read more

The reviews are odd. Came on Sunday for brunch. There is a guy by the elevator with a menu. Reminded me of Mexico. Being local the prices were a little high but decided on the nachos. Got some fresh brewed iced tea. Tea was fresh. Service was good. The nachos were not. Sorry no photos by looks they were ok but we had cheese sauce not fresh cheese, guacamole looked like it was from a tube and not fresh. Chips were from a bag but said fresh on the menu. The worst part was that the carnitas was sour and spoiled. I had to spit it out in my napkin. We called the waiter over and he took it back. On a good note they did not charge us which was nice and why I have given them 2 stars but I feel for $14.95 the nachos should have fresh ingredients. I could get this at a fast food restaurant and probably not spoiled. read more

Wanted a nice breakfast before we left Longboat Key and chose this place because the breakfast menu sounded good and it had a balcony with a great view. We were one of only a few tables when we arrived. The server was great at first - but then it took over 30 minutes for our food to come out. When it did, there was a hair in my food and I was completely unappetized after. It then took an additional 10 minutes to get our check and an additional 10 minutes to finally cash out. First impression was concerning because no one was really there besides maybe one or two couples when everything around the circle is basically mayhem on top of the weird access on the second level but they were welcoming and accommodating for a party of 5. Good view from the outside terrace. Service was very good and speedy as far as getting food out. Food was decent no complaints. We ate lunch at this restaurant earlier this week. We were greeted and seated very promptly. They let us know that breakfast is available all day. The waiter was very attentive, and kept our drinks refilled. We ordered an array of different tacos and burritos. The side of salsa with the tacos was extremely good, and we especially enjoyed the lobster tacos! I highly recommend this place, and we'll definitely return to this restaurant, if we revisit Sarasota. read more

I absolutely love this place! We were here early before the rush for breakfast! The service was amazing and the food was on point! My friend and I were walking around St. Armand's and stumbled upon this little hidden gem. The menu provided a lot of selections so we kept them in mind for the following day. Fast forward - We ordered brunch two days in a row because the food was so good!!! Once as a delivery and the following day we went in person to eat. We loved this place - we were looking for a quick bite to eat while shopping. Excellent service - the place was almost empty - but I have no idea why. Food was excellent and prompt. I had the shrimp tacos, my wife had the shrimp entree and daughter had a crepe. I would highly recommend checking it out - it is on the upper level just above one of the super popular restaurants. Last stop before heading to airport. The service and food was horrible. No drink refill offers, no napkins, no check ins. The food took over 30 minutes. The margarita tasted like soap. When the wobbly table caused the margarita to spill. We asked for a replacement, and it was never delivered. When asked to take it off the bill, we were told, you spilled the margarita, not us. A great little hideaway of a retaurant with second floor seating in the heart of St. Armand' Circle I had the seafood crepe and was very delicious and savory, I could not eat the whole thing and my dinner mate assisted in finishing it, came with rice and beans along with a crispy ceasar salad, just delicous. We had guests from out of town and wanted to show them a few of our favorite spots. After a few hours at the beach, we decided to bring them to what used to be our favorite spot for lunch in the circle. Our friends ordered taco salad and burrito bowls with beef- I ordered veggie fajitas and we ordered chips/salsa for the table. Beef in my friend's dish was cold and she was concerned it may be unsafe. When we told waitress and she told chef, we were told that's how they make it and "it's a salad, it's supposed to be cold". My friend ended up sending it back and not having anything for lunch. Other issues:Chips and salsa (out of a bag and not fresh like stated on menu) came out mid meal instead of at start, guacamole looks like it is squeezed out of a tube. I did not receive beans with my fajitas and when I asked, was told they don't come with fajitas- menu clearly states they do?!?! Overall so disappointing and embarrassing for us after we raved about this place. Will not be going back to this place again. Steer clear unless you don't care about service and quality. read more
