One of the most underrated restaurants in Providence for brunch! I started with the all-you-can-drink mimosas for $30 (minus the OJ - a personal preference & they were most accommodating!). Circe pours the lovely Villa Marcello Prosecco-Treviso DOC as their house bubbly. To start, we shared a Caesar Salad: romaine & kale, soft-boiled egg, croutons, white anchovies, aged parmesan. I enjoyed the hardiness of the kale in addition to the romaine & the ooziness of the egg elevated this salad to the next level. I asked for extra white anchovies as I could eat them by themselves as an appetizer! Our main course was the Carlo's Way: free-range fried eggs, grilled bread, applewood smoked bacon, sautéed spinach, roasted potatoes. Beautiful & hearty. I would have loved a little more color & crunch on the potatoes. We couldn't decide on one so we ordered both the chocolate gelato & lemon sorbet. I am also a big fan of their Affogato: vanilla gelato, espresso coffee, shaved chocolate. The perfect brunch meal plus a good champagne buzz!

Service was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a nice restaurant with a decent menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fries were superb. The burger was mediocre at best. If there had been good bread it would have been a lot more enjoyable, but the bread did not taste super fresh and seemed pretty low quality. If I were to go back I'd want to do drinks and a bunch of apps. I'd love to give a higher rating but I can't do that with the bread.

We went for dinner last night with a party of 8 and had a great time. They offer Free Valet Parking which was a great touch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place had a great vibe and unique decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our Server handled the party with no issues on a busy night. They had a great menu and everyone loved their food choices. We went with the Jumbo Shrimp Appetizer and ordered the Aged Wagyu Burgers with Parmesan Truffle Fries and a side of Brussel Sprouts. Everything was cooked perfect and tasted great. The portions were pretty big as well. And upon request they do a great job with helping celebrate a birthday.

My friends and I stopped by Circe on a Saturday night before heading to an event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service and atmosphere was amazing as inside was clean and very fancy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The menu had a lot of different choices and was fairly priced. The food was also excellent I ordered the octopus and wagyu tacos and both were delicious. My friends ordered the free range chicken and curry gnocchi and they both enjoyed their selections as well. We went around 5:30 and by the time it was 7 the restaurant was pretty busy so might be good to make reservations. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.

The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Circe has a sophisticated, elegant, and lively ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Reservations are recommended, however parking can be difficult and if you go later at night, they do play music and it can get loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Circe was my Mother's Day dinner with my two daughters. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On entering I was impressed by the decor which was very elegant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great all the way thru from the young lady that brought us water to the waitress and even the manager that came over to talk with us. My daughter has been to the EG location and gave the manager her comparisons likes and dislikes. I did love the Circe pin wish they had some for sale. I would have purchased one. Overall a great experience, service, food, ambiance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If I had to give one negative it would of been two young ladies at the bar near our table that were loud, think they had one to many to drink[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

It's Friday night and the weekends here. I need to unwind, where's the party, Mr. DJ, DJ?! CIRCE! First off- quaint little restaurant that is flexing their simple, modern decor that makes you immediately feel upscale. Mr. DJ is there on a Friday night spinning some hot beats that made girls night even more fun! It's very loud here but it allowed for us to cut loose, be silly and get a little loud ourselves as we unwound. Super friendly environment- our waitress was attentive and fun but we also befriended the party next to us as they wanted to have fun and we were bringing the fun! The food... matched the vibe. The charcuterie board was packed with an array of interesting items. Everything hit the spot! I favor fig. I went with the shirt rib. Beautifully plated and tasted exquisite! I definitely ate more than I should of but it was just that delicious. As a person note, I would have preferred a little less spinach. Then the chocolate sampler for dessert... plenty of food for 4 people and quite an array of sweets. Not only is this a great idea but well executed. I would HIGHLY suggest the sampler.

I had never been to Circe before but had heard amazing things, so I finally decided to give it a try- I wish I had discovered it sooner because it was AMAZING. The service was excellent, and the whole restaurant had a romantic, fun ambiance. Perfect for a girls night or date! I went for an early birthday dinner, and it was excellent. The "panty snatcher" cocktail was delicious, and we really enjoyed the short rib arancini special for an appetizer. For dinner, we loved the scallops and the mushroom bolognese, the later of which my friend got chicken on and enjoyed. The warm chocolate brownie and an espresso martini were a perfect ending to the night! Overall, I would 100% return and cannot wait to go back!

ORIGIN: An established local bartender, Carlo Carlozzi, opened Circe in 2012. The restaurant is named after a goddess in Greek mythology known for skill in making potions. LOCATION: Circe is located in downtown Providence within walking distance of the landmark Biltmore Hotel (now the Graduate). CONCEPT: Circe offers American and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Given the owner's background, it is not surprising to find specialty cocktails as well, fittingly described on the menu as "Circe's Potions". AMBIANCE: The restaurant is large, with two floors, but is designed such that each seating area feels intimate. Walls are painted white or lined with brick. Together with the sunlight streaming through large windows on two sides, the space is bright and crisp. Upholstered tufted banquettes and cloth-covered table tops add a sense of luxury to the setting. FOOD: Starting with the Burrata with Peperonata and Basil Two Ways, I was hopeful that Circe would prove to be a destination restaurant when in Providence. This starter was spectacular in appearance, scent, and taste. A ball of Burrata sits on chilled pool of stewed cubed red peppers, tomatoes, and onions, with basil purée and leaves topping the dish. It was a perfect dish for a humid summer evening. Unfortunately the main courses that followed proved to be less impressive. The Dry Aged Wagyu Burger with Parmesan Truffle Fries was generous, but not worth $29. It was difficult to gracefully maneuver on the small platter -- made more challenging given the burger's height and inclusion of a fried egg. The Wild Mushroom Bolognese ($23) was fine, but I was expecting the dish to be outstanding in some way. SERVICE: The evening I dined at Circe I found the server to be awkward and not informative such that I assumed he was new or temporarily filling in. TIP: A second Circe location is in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

this was nice. it was a work paid dinner so i enjoyed it with less stress lol. the service was fine. it wasn't anything super spectacular and i don't feel that the menu was that much different than hemenways and park side and all those similar cuisine dining places nearby. but its reliable and that's good to have close to hotels and the financial district. if my family and friends wanted something fine dining, i would take them somewhere a little more innovative.

Circe, Circe, Circe! It's a spot I typically frequent when I'm in the mood for a casual drink or perhaps a quick bite to eat, but last night, I decided to take things up a notch and fully indulge in a proper dinner--and let me tell you, I couldn't have been happier with my decision! From the moment we walked in, the experience was elevated by the incredible service. Our server was not only attentive but also super sweet, immediately setting a welcoming and upbeat tone for the evening. She wasted no time in greeting us with a cheerful rundown of the evening's drink specials, instantly energizing our group and getting the party vibe going. A thoughtful and completely unexpected touch was when she brought out a celebratory champagne toast for the birthday girl, which added such a special and memorable moment to the night. As usual tradition whenever I visit Circe, I started the evening with one of their famous lychee martinis--a drink that never fails to impress. ( I have to say the best I've had in the state). Following my delightful lychee martini, I decided to indulge in their New England mussels, which turned out to be an absolute highlight of the evening. The mussels were served in the most amazing white sauce--rich, creamy, and infused with just the right balance of garlic and herbs, making every bite an explosion of flavor. I couldn't resist dipping the accompanying bread into the sauce, savoring every drop of its savory perfection. To complement this, I also ordered the calamari, which was fried to absolute perfection. The golden, crispy coating had a lightness to it that didn't overpower the tender and flavorful calamari inside, striking a flawless balance that left me wanting more. And last, but certainly not least, our entrées. We decided to go all out and chose both of the specials being offered that evening, and let me just say, they were nothing short of spectacular. The first dish featured perfectly seared scallops, their golden crust giving way to a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture, perched atop a heavenly bed of lobster-infused mashed potatoes. The lobster mash was creamy, rich, and bursting with decadent flavor. The second entrée was equally divine: a flawlessly cooked salmon, paired with tender scallops, all nestled on a luxurious butternut squash risotto. The risotto was creamy and velvety, with just the right hint of sweetness from the butternut squash to contrast the savory seafood. Every bite of these dishes was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, showcasing the culinary expertise that makes Circe such a standout dining destination.

Went on Valentine's Day and the food was great. Absolutely no complaints on that front. The issue arises when we attempted to pay. They refused to take my Capital One card and asked me for a different payment method because apparently they've been having issues with chargebacks through Capital One. No big deal, I hand them my Citi card. I check my transactions a few days later and noticed I was charged $20 more than the actual total with tip that I signed... I know this because I rounded it off to an even amount and the total tip I left ended up being around 22% of the bill. So now I'm left wondering if this place legitimately has an issue with consumer fraud or if the fraud is being committed on the inside. read more

Phenomenal experience on a Friday during Restaurant Week. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a great cozy, private table on the upper floor with a nice overlook of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The 3-course menu had an excellent variety of vegetarian and non-veg options. Lastly, every course was outstanding! The price wasn't too heavy on the wallet either. 100% worth the value. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was also fun, dance-like music vibes toward the end of our meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was excellent. This was probably the best restaurant week in PVD I've had in years. This is my favorite restaurant for lunch. They have fabulous service and food. The inside is stylish and offers a lot of seating. We go here so often that the waitress brings over iced tea before we even sit down. My favorite things to order are the ravioli with spinach, the french fries, and the steak sandwich special. read more

So went here for first time and the atmosphere is very cozy. The service was incredible; waitress was impeccable. The food was delicious but the offerings are extremely limited. I do not eat a lot of beef products and they had mostly steak/beef on the menu. I ended up ordering the bolognese which was good but not the best I've ever had. The appetizer cheese plate was very good. They never served bread which I found odd for such an extravagant restaurant. But everyone else in party enjoyed the food very much. read more

We went to this restaurant yesterday afternoon, had a couple of cocktails, was told because we were guests at the hampton inn next door, that we would receive 30% off on our food, so, we cancelled the booked reservation we had and made one there. Got there a few minutes after 5PM, everything was great until we got the bill and they only took 10% off, we were told we would get 30% off. Called today when we got home, waited on the 1st call for over 15 minutes and they hung up on me. Called again, said it's only 10%, nothing we can do about it. We would not have gone there knowing if it was 10% and not 30% off. Unreliable staff, we're talking like $30, most restaurants would credit the whole check. I will never return to this place, ripoff, and false advertising about the percentage that you should get. read more

Came for a during the week dinner event for work. It's a decent location that offers later hours than most in area and the food is good. We had a few different choices for appetizers and they all were great. The charcuterie board comes with soft boiled eggs, peppers, jellies and toasts. The lighting is a bit on the dark side. Many of the people I was with needed the lights on phone to read the menus. Great mashed potatoes. The prices of some items are reasonable and others are a bit more expensive. Parking is a bit difficult on nights valet is not offered but they do tell you that you can still use the valet lot behind the building which was great and much less difficult. It's right near public transportation as well. Our two servers were super nice and accommodating for such a large group. read more

They offer valet parking which came in handy on this rainy night. I was greeted by a very pleasant hostess that made me feel very welcomed to this establishment. We found our waiter to be very attentive and nice. I was craving comfort food and I decided to order the Angus Meatloaf with Garlic mash potato, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, bone marrow demi. It was very good and filling. But hey, nobody beats my mom's meatloaf. I rarely ever would order meatloaf out, but so glad I did here. Our group of 4 opted for the death by chocolate dessert sampler. It was fantastic. Our favorite was the frozen cylinder shaped chocolate mousse and our least favorite was the fudge nut brownie. I strongly recommend this for sweet and chocolate lovers. I came here for my birthday during restaurant week. The menu selection was great and our food tasted amazing. The drinks were also delicious. We were a party of 4. Great atmosphere. Beautiful inside. For appetizers we had the calamari, lamb lollipops, and deviled eggs. For entrees we had the lobster ravioli, meatloaf, and the Angus tenderloin. For dessert we ordered the summer berry cheesecake, chocolate 3 ways, lemon Blueberry creme brulee, and profiteroles. I've been coming here for well over five years as I always stay at the hotel nearby and this place is in walking distance. At this point, I stay at the hotel to be sure I can easily get to this place. If you are a solo traveler, the bar is a fantastic choice as far as where to sit as you can get the full menu service there. The cocktail menu is wonderful and if you like dirty martinis, you must try the Mama Sporca which has pepper juice instead of the traditional olive juice. My friend always gets the Panty Snatcher (yep, that's the name) which is a super pretty, also vodka-based cocktail but more on the sweeter side with an edible flower. I love that it is open late, even on Mondays. You will never feel rushed and again, if you happen to be a solo traveler, the people who work there and the patrons are always friendly so if you want to socialize, it's not hard. If you want to read a book and eat, you can do that too without being bothered. Dave is a top-notch, super attentive waiter and is always there just when you need him without being annoying asking how everything is every minute. He makes the BEST recommendations if you just give him a sense of what you feel like eating or what your preferences are. Although I've mentioned how this place is cool for a solo traveler, by all means if you are looking for a date spot, dinner with a group, or just a great happy hour spot, this place is where I would go. Cool vibe, definitely more upscale, and the music is perfect. Check out Hotel Costes or Beach Bar Lounge on Pandora to hear what it sounds like. Final note around dress- I've only been there during the week after 5pm so I can only speak to how people dress based on those times: I've seen jeans and a nice shirt/blouse as well as more dressy with suits and sharp dresses with heels. I would imagine you can go here on the weekends more on the dressy side. I know I would 5/5 for my go-to spot in Downtown Providence. read more

If I could pick a perfect place for a perfect evening, it would be Circe. Carlos made a special night for a birthday even more special. Service by Alex was impeccable. Dinner was top notch from the meatloaf to the pizza, to the scallops & bacon wrapped filet. The birthday desserts were do wonderfully decadent! The martinis were perfect. Carlos & his staff definitely went all out to make this an evening to remember and we will. Look forward to coming back! read more

Lamb lollipops and oysters that's all I have to say. Get them. Enjoy them. Love them. Devour them. Come back for more. Ambiance is really vibey for date night. Service was quick sitting at the bar. I need to come back again. Parking on street will be tight but there are garages around you can pay for parking for. There's also Moonshine bar down the street if you want to stop in for a country bar vibe with the college kid crowd. read more

We spent the afternoon exploring Providence and one of our friends had a hankering for meatloaf. After a quick search, we found this gem which was reviewed as having the best in town, so we went. Our friend agreed it was the best he had in a long time, and the other items we tried were equally delicious! Stopped in early on a Friday night and split a couple of appetizers. Sat at the bar and ordered 4 shrimp cocktail and the caprese panzanella. The shrimp were fresh and a decent size. The problem with the caprese salad was the croutons were way too big. They were too hard to cut with a knife Only way to eat them was with your hands, ridiculous. The other problem here was the service. The is bar quite long with 2 bartenders. When we sat down the 2 people on our right were obviously one of the bartenders friends. She constantly talked to them. When they left her husband and son sat in the same seats. She talked and got them drinks and food. All the while ignoring us. The other bartender was trying to do her best to keep up with the rest of the bar while the other one talked it up with her friends and family. Some bartenders just don't know how to draw the line when people they know show up at work. It's still work not social hour while ignoring the paying patrons. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is basically white walls sort of dull. For some odd reason there are a lot various sized disco balls hanging from the ceiling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On the plus side they have valet parking. read more

Wow I NEED to come back! We had a lovely dinner :) Here are my thoughts: Food - We decided to order two specials of the month. Both were spectacular. I couldn't find anything wrong with my dish....I ordered a medium rare bacon wrapped tenderloin with a demi glaze, buttery asparagus and a truffle risotto. I said 10/10 in my photo description but I know realise it was a 12/10 YUM My date ordered the scallops (huge btw) that were slightly undercooked but tender.... they came on a bed of sautéed spinach, butter sauce and mashed potatoes :) 8/10 Service - Our waitress was kind but a bit distracted.... still decent service overall Ambiance - Cozy and classy, perfect for a date or a night out with friends I'll be back!! read more

Went back to the old DownCity for a delicious dinner in Providence at Circe. The interior is sleek and open, with a long bar, tables scattered throughout (as well as on the second floor open balcony). What an unexpected surprise. In town for the night on business and beyond happy they still served dinner at 10p. Alex was a fab waiter. Friendly, attentive and helpful with the menu. The halibut special with scallops and beet risotto was on point. Cocktails were perfectly mixed (Panty Snatcher and Mango margarita), all the staff were super nice, security, host and our waiter. This is my go-to place for when people are visiting me from out of town. The ambiance is a nice balance of casual and chic where you won't be too dressed up, and you won't feel out of place in jeans. Headed this this spot for restaurant week and we had a blast!! Ambiance: This place is BUMPING and we loved it! Young diverse crowd. Beautiful white interior. Live DJ Tommy was on the second floor mixing some awesome beats with throwbacks like 112 which made our hearts melt. Service: Our waiter was wonderful and sweet and the food came our super quick! I always have a great time when I dine at Circe. The atmosphere is very sophisticated and lively. The evening we went, one of the bartenders was playing music and we absolutely loved the playlist. Our waitress was Jess and she was incredible. She was very friendly, funny, and checked in on us regularly. The cocktails are incredible here. Stopped by for Easter brunch a while back and I have to say it was delicious. I had gotten the apple crisp french toast and it was absolutely delectable. Also got the eggs Benedict which was kind of small for the price but was appetizing. Was not able to get a table as I didn't make a reservation beforehand but was able to sit at the bar. The restaurant itself is very nice great ambience and located in a great part of town I had the salmon with lobster mashed potatoes Brussel sprouts and scallops It was really good the only complaint that I have are that the Brussels and salmon Were over charred the bristles to the point of not being edible I asked the waitress if she could switch out my brussels sprouts for more mashed potatoes but unfortunately for me they were out of mashed potatoes which I initially thought was a Very small amount to begin with but I guess now I know why What really pissed me off at the end of My meal I asked for the dessert menu and to my surprise the waitress said the kitchen was closed why didn't she ask if I wanted dessert while I was eating or before the kitchen closes so I didn't get to have dessert So I hope this helps anyone in ordering read more

Came last night for Restaurant Week and I was blown away by my entire experience there. There are so many options on the restaurant week menu and they did not skimp out on the portions! Also our waitress was amazing. She was so friendly and attentive. Made reservations and was seated immediately. They bring out bread and olive oil. The bread is so soft on the inside and with a crunchy crust. If you're lucky, you might be able to get fresh, warm bread that's straight out of the oven! Here's a breakdown of what we ordered from the Restaurant Week menu: GRILLED OYSTERS - 3 lightly grilled oysters, topped with a bit of lemon and parmesan herb butter. Great if you're a seafood fan and want something light to start off with. LAMB LOLLIPOPS - I'm so surprised that have lamb as an appetizer! I don't eat lamb because I don't like how gamey it typically is. My boyfriend ordered this and I tried a bite and it is so good! There was no gamey taste in it at all! It definitely tastes different from beef but I would definitely recommend this! PAN SEARED GEORGES BANK SCALLOPS - the scallops were so plump and perfectly cooked. Everything about this dish was perfect. Even the spinach was amazing! I couldn't stop eating it. And to top it off, there were pieces of lobster in my mashed potato. The waitress had said this was a popular dish and I can see why. BRAISED BONELESS SHORT RIB - all I can say is...wow. A lot of reviews on Yelp had recommended this dish and it did not disappoint. The short rib is so tender! It's rested on a bed of truffle risotto that paired so well with the meat. It is a strong truffle taste though, so if you don't like truffle, this probably isn't a best dish for you. WHITE CHOCOLATE PUMPKIN CREME BRULEE - I didn't really taste the pumpkin in this, but as a creme brulee, it was delicious! It's creamy and the caramel popcorn on top helps give you a little crunch in every bite. TRIO OF WINTER SORBET - i believe the flavors I got were Green Apple, Pear, and Raspberry? The pear one blew my mind. It literally was like I was eating a pair. Tastes exactly like one and had the same gritty texture you'd get if you were to eat a slice of pear. The other flavors were okay. This was good but probably my least favorite favorite part of the meal. Not something I'd personally recommend, but if you're feeling like having sorbet, it's a good option! I highly recommend Circe for dinner, especially for restaurant week! I would definitely come back to try out their other menu items next time I'm in town read more

Taking an Uber would be a great idea as well, so you don't have to deal with anything and can drink as much as you want. They do not have valet. Service: The service has always been super friendly and very accommodating. Honestly, all the times that I've gone, they've been very helpful with helping us get seats and just giving us a great experience, even with how busy it gets. This is definitely a spot that I not only recommend to everyone, but it's somewhere that I will continue to go because it's genuinely one of my favorites!

They have a variety of seating areas including tables inside and outside as well as highchairs around the open kitchen and highchairs wrapping around the brick oven which is where we sat. We were warned that it does get very toasty, but it wasn't anything unbearable. My friend comes here often, so he noticed that they've made big changes to their menu. He highly recommended the crudo; it can either be ordered a la carte ($14 per fish serving) or one of each as a platter. I chose to try the black bass and bluefin tuna. We also ordered wood roasted sesame focaccia to eat with the crudo and the cacio and Pepe we ordered. Lastly, we ordered a Kohlrabi Caesar salad which comes with Boston blackened boquerones, croutons, and parmiagano. The food came out at different moments but we ate the salad, bread, and crudo together and saved the pasta for last. The crudo was very fresh and decent serving size. It seemed to only be topped with olive oil and salt, but that was enough to amplify the flavor. The focaccia was soft, easy to tear apart, warm, perfectly crispy/toasted, and every millimeter of the focaccia was covered in sesame seeds. It comes with olive oil to dip in. The salad was unique. I have never had kohlrabi before but it was similar to broccoli stems in its firmness, but not as sweet. It was not drowned in dressing which I was happy about, and has a good amount of parmesan cheese. I could taste the crunchy croutons which added an additional crunch along with the kohlrabi. I have never had boquerones before so I wasn't sure which flavor to look out for. The cacio and Pepe was okay. It was a little bland, but since it was my first time having it, I was not sure what to expect. The spaghetti was cooked a little under al dente and the sauce was a lower viscosity than I imagined. My friend had a drink and all together, our bill was close to $100 which is not too bad. The plates look small (about 6-8" in diameter), but the food is filling. I decided to check out the website for fun and I love the octopus art and that it's easy to navigate. The staff was very friendly and made us feel important and taken care of.

It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.

Better yet, just go to these places real restaurants with free parking and actual servers. The good: This seems like a nice spot for large diverse groups since there's many options in a small area, plenty of seating for larger parties and giant TVs on the walls. Most of the food is decent and they've curated an eclectic mix of cuisines. The bad: This food hall is designed to extract the most money from you in the shortest amount of time. In total, we paid $105 (including parking) for 2 orders of bao buns, a rice crispie treat, a kids cheeseburger and fries, 1 order of samosas and 2 drinks. We basically had apps and a drink for over $100. $22 for a cosmo and a coke. $12 for an IPA. You must have to ask for a receipt because you don't get one at any of the pads they ring you out on. Normally I don't care but once my group got back together and I realized what we were being charged, I realized I should have been asking for receipts. They have staff that come around and bus the tables. We had to tell them "no we're not done" 3 times in a 20 min span and they still insisted on taking our trays with our napkins etc while we were finishing our drinks and fries; thereby leaving just the basket they were in. It was really odd. It felt like fighting the seagulls on Scarborough beach. While I appreciate the effort, I don't want to ever feel rushed when dining and when I do, especially at a food hall, I most likely will not return. Maybe they knew what the parking costs and were trying to help us save money? They should just wait til you get up or at least look like you're done before coming over. The ugly: $17.12 to park for 1.5 hours. They must charge by the second. I only paid $22 for 10 hours at an event at Fenway last weekend. I later discovered that if you want the validated rate you have to specifically ask for a QR code when you order food. Really????? While it's my own fault for being in a hurry and not looking this up beforehand, hiding parking validation from customers is wild! I thought it was weird when I went to the giant kiosk that says "did you validate" it still charged me full price but just figured that maybe they charge more during peak times. IMHO, when you order they should ask you if you've validated your parking yet or offer you a code. I might have given 3 stars, but once I found out that I overpaid for parking due to this trickery, I had to deduct one star.

A group of friends and I came across this restaurant online and decided to try it out. No one greeted us as we entered but a bartender noticed us right away and came over to assists us. The bartender had a positive attitude and kindly asked if we wanted to be seated anywhere specific. There were stairs that led up to a second floor where guest were able to dine but instead we choose to sit in the back across from the open kitchen. As we walked by the kitchen, we saw that it was clean and organized. Our waitress, Amy, came over to greet us as we sat down. She was really friendly, funny, and attentive. We asked her about the menu and she knew it very well. For appetizers we ordered: Deviled Eggs, calamari, lobster risotto, and lamb meatballs. The deviled eggs came with 3 eggs over a tasty beet slaw and bacon on top of the filling. They tasted pretty good. The calamari came with cherry peppers and a lemon-chili aioli. The aioli with the calamari were good together. We just wish that there were a few tentacle pieces in there. The lamb meatballs with their yogurt sauce was good. At first we thought the lobster risotto was a little weird because it came with avocado ice cream. But the ice cream went well with it and it was delicious. Out of all four appetizers the risotto was the best. For entrees we ordered: Duo of duck, bombster scallops, and grilled salmon. Two of us ordered the duck medium rare but one was more medium. It wasn't a big deal to us because it was still delicious. The only thing that was disappointing about this was the confit leg ravioli that came with it. We were expecting at least 3 pieces of ravioli but instead it came with only one measly piece. Also, for one of the plates the duck and kale were over a pool of the juice that made the plate look unappetizing. The salmon was cooked perfectly and went well with the salsa and basil pesto. The scallops were amazing. They were all cooked perfectly. They came with pork belly, red cabbage slaw, and a spiced apple chutney. They were all good however the menu said that it came with "crispy" pork belly. The pork wasn't crispy at all but was delicious and tender. For dessert we just had the bread pudding, maple creme anglaise, and pumpkin mousse. We didn't even ask for four spoons but Amy kindly brought us four because she knew we were going to split it. This dessert was one of the best desserts that we've ever had. the bread pudding, creme anglaise, and mousse all went so well together and was delicious. Overall, we had a great experience. I had meant to write this review weeks ago, sorry Carlo. About six weeks ago my girlfriend and I stopped in for a drink late on a Friday night. It was crowded and loud but the energy was great. We looked over the menu and thought there were some items we would like to try and so it peaked our interest. The owner, Carlo, saw us and came over to say hello. At first I thought he was just a guest that mistook us for someone else. Turns out he just didn't recognize us and wanted to greet us. I thought this was a great gesture and enjoyed talking with him. He explained how he worked at 10 as a bartender for years and always wanted to branch out. He saw this opportunity and took it. I really love small local businesses that aren't backed by huge bankrolls like some other destinations in Providence. I feel like I can connect better to people who are trying to live their dreams and Carlo at Circe is doing just that. I went back on Sunday for brunch and invited about 6 friends. Carlo was there again and greeted us before we reached the door. He made my espresso himself, it was great. I ordered the bottomless champagne with my brunch which was just what I needed after a long week, well worth the price. We all shared 2 orders of the sweet potato & pork belly hash which was out of this world and 2 orders of the charcuterie which was absolutely fantastic. For my main I had the steak & eggs, cooked perfectly and delicious. The banana walnut pancakes with caramel sauce looked amazing and I will have that next time. This is a great spot that I don't think gets the attention it deserves. The owner and staff are very welcoming and the food is excellent, if you haven't been yet, make a point. read more

Came here on a Friday night after hours to grab some cocktails. Decor seemed to be updated from the former restaurant, which was a plus. We immediately walked in and was surprised at how many people were crowding the front door, it took a minute to get around this group of people and head to the bar. For us we were not in a rush that night and we were greeted by a pleasant young lady later about 10 minutes later. Cocktails came out good but on the heavy side of booze. We kinda regret not getting there earlier cause we thought it would have been a better decision to get food instead of drinks. Bar was overly crowded and atmosphere turned into a lot of 40 year old plus men hitting on younger college girls. Reminded me of how Ten Steak & Sushi gets on the weekends. We walked away with getting two drinks costing about 33$ YIKES!!! That was the kicker for the night!! We had the absolute pleasure of dining here on Valentine's Day, and I can confidently say it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. They graciously accommodated us as walk-ins, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server Alex was amazing. Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Last night, I celebrated my 63rd birthday at Circe in Providence, Rhode Island, and the experience was absolutely delightful. From the moment we arrived, everything about the evening felt special. The manager, Cami warmly greeted us at the door and led us to a charming table, perfectly located to enjoy the beautiful newly installed Christmas decorations. The surprises began with a thoughtful champagne toast, along with a birthday card from the owner, setting the tone for the night. Our waiter, Jonathan went above and beyond, attending to every detail with care--from the delicious appetizers and perfectly crafted drinks to the decadent desserts. But not the providence location after dinner time turns too clubby and you can't even enjoy your meal... LOVE the food though and drinks, especially at the EG location. I have only been there a few times on a weekend night after 10 and I can only say it is nothing less than pathetic. Guidos, aging strippers, 40something year old men looking to pick up twentysomething drunk girls. It gets extremely loud as the night progresses.
