To all that eat or have eaten here. I have lived in this area for over 10 yrs and I really haven't found a perfect BBQ joint, but CJ's is close. Every time I have eaten there I got good service, quickly made hot food and far prices and always leave full. I see some of you complain about one woman, well I know them all as I made friends from going so often, so before you JUDGE know some facts, some people have bad days and so what its run by Korean's, the father who started this business was in WWII fighting for the US. This is run by his daughter and her husband with a Korean lady friend who herself has had a loss in her family and I am sure is still dealing with it. Yes its a small store, but most people take it out anyways so stop your complaining. If your on the fence about this place give it another try, I'm sure you have a better experience. As for the style of BBQ, for those WHO don't know anything about making BBQ there are a handful of ways, one is to pre-boil the rims to make them soft which I believe is how they prepare there, then grill them. So instead of guessing or making assumptions, ask them how they make there food. I've eaten at alot of other places, this place is in the top category of BBQ in my opinion as I like there style of BBQ. As of other side items, every place I tried make there BBQ beans (there not baked beans as one lady couldn't figure out what they were) and potato salad different, if you don't like there style doesn't mean it sucks, you just don't like there style and you should word it that whey. Also not they have a $5.99 lunch special which is pretty filling and good and for about $10-$11 you can have a filling dinner. We went in for Korean food. We ordered the Galbi and Bulgogi. The lady behind the counter said the only do Bulgogi for delivery. Let me get this straight, if I call you then you will make it but if I am standing in front of you then you won't give it to me. She says yes. How does that make any damn sense. So I asked if the Galbi came with rice and she said no just three ribs. Seriously, no rice with Korean food and it was $13 for just three ribs. At that point we just left. Spent 50 bucks on delivery won't do that again. The Kalbi is the thinnest slices of short rib not a meal. Spicy ramen was 7 bucks for noodle and broth nothing delicious inside all packed together so it was very overcooked. The potstickers were ok the portion was decent quality was decent. We ordered the number 3 and some potstickers and the LBC Root Beer bottle. Everything was delicious. I especially liked our combo, which was shredded bbq pork with hot link pieces. I had the Kim Chi BBQ combo and the corn nuggets. The sauce is tangy but not up my alley, the meat had some gristle which was unappealing. While the fusion combo sounds good it was a miss. I will vouch for the corn nuggets which were like creamed corn and hush puppy mix, reminded me of carnival food. If you have a big appetite and you're a proud carnivore, you owe it to yourself to try this place at least once. Everything is made to order and the food is always hot when you get it. When I feel like pigging out I usually order the family combo, which comes out to about $50 after tax. It comes with ribs, garlic bread, potato salad, chicken, hot links, and baked beans. They also throw in an extra container of sauce. That's enough food to feed 5 people (even though I can eat half of it by myself). I want to love this place. I really do, especially since it's within driving distance from my place but I can only say it's ok, and that's at best. Here is why, prices seem higher compared to other BBQ places, and you would think it was American BBQ but it's actually a mix between American and Korean and random other things. Seems like instead of focusing on some featured menu items. I'm a huge baby back ribs person, and while I didn't try it, I've asked for it twice and they always told me it will take a "while" to make. I've been to Sam's BBQ in Campbell and I ordered baby back ribs plenty of times and even during a 12:00 lunch hour rush they only take like 15 minutes! Not saying you shouldn't go but not a place I would add to my favorites. read more

I've only had the BBQ sandwiches here so my review is for the sandwich. The BBQ pork sandwich is the BEST that I've had. Meat to bread portion is really good. Unless they get really busy and throw a lot of pork on the grill and spread it out on a lot of sandwiches. I like to go when it's slow so I can get a good hearty pork sandwhich. The Combo Sandwich is okay. It's the BBQ pork sandwich with bits of hotlink/sausage mixed in. I'm not really a fan of it. The Meal Combo's with the sandwiches are a little disappointing. The baked beans and the bread is good. Least they make an effort when they make their bread instead of giving you just a slice of sandwich bread like some places. Salad is just okay and they give you a can of soda. Definitely try the BBQ pork sandwich. Haven't tried the BBQ yet, but I'm a cheapo so I probably won't be trying it anytime soon. The service is friendly, but a little too friendly. I don't mind people chatting with me, but Helen is kinda too chatty sometimes. The food is always satisfying when I come in here. The pork ribs are my favorite, so perfect and tender. The sauce is well balanced, not overly sweet, and not dumped on there in heaps. I try not to indulge much in take out but when I'm close by I come in for their ribs. They lady (owner?) who is usually there is the one who cooks and she is friendly and makes the meat just perfect. Totally worth the wait. It is a family owned business and the owners out their hearts into everything they make. I love the ribs. It is hard to find beef ribs that aren't too greasy and this place does them perfectly. If you like spicy, get the hot links. Between the Asian food and BBQ there is something for everyone. I tried the Spicy chicken and the Hotlinks. Both were very good. The french fries were really good. They change the oil often because the Fries were light and crisp. I will be there again to try the sandwiches and Ramen noodles. I like Kimchee and will try that to. All in all a very good BBQ joint to try. read more

I have being eating at this place for about three years now. Im not a big ribs guy or anything to I usually just get the combo sandwich there about three or four times a month. Dealing with bones and stuff just usually aint my style. I usually ask for extra sauce in it and on it because I really like the sauce they use there alot. It not very expensive just over 5 dollars so I think its a pretty good deal for what your getting. Believe it or not I was able to go Dyson on my meal, i ordered everything! CJ's has two different menus that are housed in two different locations; The first- lunch menu that is greeted when you first enter And the second- dinner and family size orders to the right when you're paying I had; two beef spare ribs, two BBQ chicken pieces(was my favorite actually) garlic bread, potato salad, and Korean BBQ. What's so amazing about this place was the quality of their food and the prices that reflected it. The sauce can be ordered as an extra on the side which definitely comes in handy. The Korean BBQ sauce is actually made in house, which really surprises me because I think the generic taste you expect is something sweet but that's because it's made from those generic sauces you can find at any of those super markets and that will never top authenticity you find in the marination Cj's uses for their Korean BBQ SO bomb im coming back again one day after trying it.... Sad this is it'll be after my workout, counterproductive?? Maybe, but definitely worth it! CJ's BBQ is owned by the same person who owns JC's BBQ in Santa Clara. This is a small no frills deli that serves delicious bbq ribs and sandwiches. The shop has a few tables and a tv that is always set to Channel 11. The sandwiches will run you about $5 and the plates a few dollars more. The meat is always perfectly cooked but it's the tangy and sweet sauce that adds a little something to the meat. Sides include bakes beans, a garden salad, potato salad and garlic bread. I've been passing by CJ'S bbq for a long time, never went in til the other day, was a hot day, nobody in there, furniture was old fashioned, thinking ok, maybe we shouldn't be here, I ordered the combo pork ribs, chicken, hot links, my wife ordered the pork ribs & chicken only, with potato salad, to go came to about $20.00, we got home, opened the potato salad, looked dry, but boy did it have taste, along with the rest of the meal, the ribs were so tender that it just slid off the bone, the chicken looked burnt & dry, but was even better that way, was not dry at all, and the hot links, was a bomb, said ok, we'll go again, went there three days later, and was talking to CJ the owner, told him how good it was, the bbq sauce is very tasty, ask for a little extra as the ribs sometimes don't have enough, hot links are very good, chicken is excellent. read more
