Went to hankki house while waiting for my French Horn getting cleaned at Music Village and was pleasantly surprised by the yummy tonkatsu & fried chicken! Their lunch special is also a steal for only $15.95. Unfortunately they no longer have the fried pork ribs. Service is kinda slow tho + wasn't very impressed with the army stew

Amazing & authentic care in customer service & cooking. Love the hot tea feature ona cold day. True home cooking that i can feel the love of culture through. The seafood pancake was great! The Bimbap was sooo good taking a picture was out my mind & was inebriated by the dish itself..

I found this hidden gem while charging my Tesla. I love Korean food and was so glad to find a Korean spot near my workplace. I decided to stop by and order food, and it was absolutely delicious. My go to order is the Hankki rice bowl. It comes with a choice of protein, one of their sides, glass noodles, and rice for $16. The place is on the smaller side, but it's very cozy with a great vibe. The staff, especially Vincent, were extremely sweet and polite. He was friendly, helpful, and checked in on the surrounding tables as well as on me. Such a great place for Korean food with amazing, friendly staff. I will definitely be back to try more from the menu.

We came here late on a Saturday about an hour prior to closing. Opting to share an army stew and an order of the fried seaweed roll. The fried seaweed rolls were surprisingly good. The army stew was good and portions were adequate. Our only issue was that the wait for the food took a while - they had one chef making the food and a lot of take out orders. Our food took at least 30-40 mins to come out.

Kimchi Korean Ramen, this dish was completely emptied of all contents it contained. A must try.

I've never eaten at a Korean restaurant before, I've been missing out! I actually hit the jackpot by choosing this restaurant. I was just hungry, and decided let's try something new. We walked in to a clean, very pleasant, inviting place. Greeted immediately and offered a seat. It took us a bit to figure out what to try, but once we did, our food did not take very long to be served. The food was so fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. We loved the food. I'm so hooked on this place.

Nothing like a small mom and pop business, where you get that homey vibe, of food made carefully with love. Super fresh, delicious Korean food in a small, cozy setting. I'm a bi bim bap fan. I loved how they fried the tofu for a nice crunchy texture. Bi bim bap was expert; banchan were tasty. I always appreciate it when jap chae is included as a side, so I can have my two favorite Korean dishes in one meal. Service was excellent, and I was in and out fast, which suited my schedule.

Been a while since I've last visited and updated my review. This time it's a 4/5 rating. I noticed some differences in packaging, portions, and pricing. It doesn't compare well to the other Korean spots that I normally go to in Cupertino, Santa Clara, or Milpitas area. I still wanted to support this small business (no social media presence). I ordered the seafood pancake $19.95 and LA Galbi (beef short ribs) $32.95. I understand the economy and expenses had played a role in the price increase. The seafood pancake was great size for $20 but when I took it to-go, I noticed it was not very crispy and kinda soggy. I prefer my seafood pancake crispy please! As for the LA Galbi it came with side of rice, banchans, and individually packaged beef short ribs in reusable container. There was actually a good amount of beef short ribs but $33 worth? I'm not quite sure about that. Some of the pieces I got seemed slightly over with very small burnt specs. I just picked it off. But the Galbi flavor itself was well marinated. Not the softest tho. Japchae, kimchi, and spicy cucumbers were enjoyable. Service was very kind but there was a bit of a wait. I'll come for the chicken katsu next time!

We absolutely love this little neighborhood Korean restaurant- we don't need to drive to Cupertino Sunnyvale area for some authentic real Korean food anymore! the Bibimbap is my absolute favorite- fresh ingredients and so delicious! Chap Jae is amazing too! And the seafood pancake!!! Come for a warm and welcome family ran restaurant ambiance too!

We stopped here after we did a long hike. We were hungry. I ordered the ttelebokki (rice cakes). They were good, but I didn't expect it to me this way. I expected it with the red sauce mixed in with meat and veggies. The dish was still tasty. The seafood pancake was delicious. It's more of doughy batter than really fried and crunchy. It came out hot on the hot plate. Overall, I thought the food was ok...a little more pricy on the end. This place is located in strip mall and next to Jamba Juice. Thank you for the food and service.

There's lunch specials and other items on their menu. I didn't realize I barely made it during their lunch service. I had ran errands and went there to grab some take out. Luckily the gentleman let me order which I'm grateful for. There's a break in between lunch and dinner service. I ordered their beef Japchae for takeout.

Lunch Special - $19.99 Rating: (8/10) The lunch special is a tofu soup combo. You can pick different combinations from the menu, but some choices are considered premium and come with an additional fee. We went with the spicy chicken and beef tofu soup. It came with a bowl of rice, and the portion was enough for two people. The chicken was a little on the dry side and the tofu soup was missing some depth of flavor, but for the price it was good enough!

For the cold noodles, it was pretty refreshing and a bit light in flavor. It came in a icy vinegary broth with noodles, half a boiled egg, pickled daikon and some pieces of galbi (short rib). Also had option of adding more vinegar and/or mustard if you wanted. The noodles were chewy but that's how it is, recommend asking for some scissors to cut the noodles if it's hard to chew. For the spicy buckwheat cold noodles, it had much more flavor, had a gochujang base, and thicker. It came with half a boiled egg, pickled daikon and pieces of galbi. We ordered the beef soup and the appetizer short ribs, which is about 6 pieces. The sides were good, special shout out to the warm jjapchae! The short ribs came out sizzling, and had a great char with a sweet soy sauce flavor. Meat was tender and had the perfect chew to it, such a comfort meal with the rice. The beef soup came boiling, and there was a generous amount of beef, mushrooms, and tofu. The only complaint I have is the soup ratio was less than what I'm used to so about halfway through the pot there wasn't much soup left to pour onto the rice the way I normally do. But that's not a bad thing, means you're getting more protein! Service was great, but it's a bit expensive from what I'm used to so I docked a star. I'll check out other places and see if this is just the normal pricing for the area.

We originally planned to dine in, but after waiting a little over an hour, we decided to switch our order to takeout because we couldn't spend that long waiting for dinner. When we got home, the first thing we noticed was the kimchi. It looked noticeably darker and browner than what we're used to. The discoloration was a little off-putting at first, but surprisingly, the kimchi itself tasted good. Galbijjim Meat: 2.5/5 The beef was what Koreans would describe as 질겨 (jilgyeo) tough and chewy. With galbijjim, I expect the meat to be very tender and easily pull apart, so this was disappointing. Sauce: 3/5 You can see some red pepper in the dish, but we felt like most of the heat was coming from something closer to chili oil or a capsaicin-based sauce rather than the peppers themselves. It tastes good while you're eating it, but you'll probably pay for it later. Tteok (rice cakes): 2.5/5 The rice cakes were a little tough as well. If you're expecting the soft, chewy tteok you normally get with tteokbokki, don't expect the same texture here. Portion: 4/5 The portion is definitely large. I'd say one order can comfortably feed around 3 people, depending on how much everyone eats. Restaurant / Wait: 2/5 The restaurant itself is pretty small, which seems to contribute to longer-than-normal wait times. Waiting over an hour for a $100+ dish definitely affected our overall impression. Would we come back? Probably not. My wife gave it 2/5, and I'd give it 3/5. For $101, we expected more tender meat and a flavor profile closer to traditional galbijjim. The portion was generous, but overall, the food wasn't worth the wait or price for us. We'll be looking for a place that's more aligned with the traditional galbijjim recipes and flavors we're used to.
