Went to hankki house while waiting for my French Horn getting cleaned at Music Village and was pleasantly surprised by the yummy tonkatsu & fried chicken! Their lunch special is also a steal for only $15.95. Unfortunately they no longer have the fried pork ribs. Service is kinda slow tho + wasn't very impressed with the army stew

Amazing & authentic care in customer service & cooking. Love the hot tea feature ona cold day. True home cooking that i can feel the love of culture through. The seafood pancake was great! The Bimbap was sooo good taking a picture was out my mind & was inebriated by the dish itself..

We came here late on a Saturday about an hour prior to closing. Opting to share an army stew and an order of the fried seaweed roll. The fried seaweed rolls were surprisingly good. The army stew was good and portions were adequate. Our only issue was that the wait for the food took a while - they had one chef making the food and a lot of take out orders. Our food took at least 30-40 mins to come out.

I found this hidden gem while charging my Tesla. I love Korean food and was so glad to find a Korean spot near my workplace. I decided to stop by and order food, and it was absolutely delicious. My go to order is the Hankki rice bowl. It comes with a choice of protein, one of their sides, glass noodles, and rice for $16. The place is on the smaller side, but it's very cozy with a great vibe. The staff, especially Vincent, were extremely sweet and polite. He was friendly, helpful, and checked in on the surrounding tables as well as on me. Such a great place for Korean food with amazing, friendly staff. I will definitely be back to try more from the menu.

Kimchi Korean Ramen, this dish was completely emptied of all contents it contained. A must try.

I've never eaten at a Korean restaurant before, I've been missing out! I actually hit the jackpot by choosing this restaurant. I was just hungry, and decided let's try something new. We walked in to a clean, very pleasant, inviting place. Greeted immediately and offered a seat. It took us a bit to figure out what to try, but once we did, our food did not take very long to be served. The food was so fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. We loved the food. I'm so hooked on this place.

Nothing like a small mom and pop business, where you get that homey vibe, of food made carefully with love. Super fresh, delicious Korean food in a small, cozy setting. I'm a bi bim bap fan. I loved how they fried the tofu for a nice crunchy texture. Bi bim bap was expert; banchan were tasty. I always appreciate it when jap chae is included as a side, so I can have my two favorite Korean dishes in one meal. Service was excellent, and I was in and out fast, which suited my schedule.

Been a while since I've last visited and updated my review. This time it's a 4/5 rating. I noticed some differences in packaging, portions, and pricing. It doesn't compare well to the other Korean spots that I normally go to in Cupertino, Santa Clara, or Milpitas area. I still wanted to support this small business (no social media presence). I ordered the seafood pancake $19.95 and LA Galbi (beef short ribs) $32.95. I understand the economy and expenses had played a role in the price increase. The seafood pancake was great size for $20 but when I took it to-go, I noticed it was not very crispy and kinda soggy. I prefer my seafood pancake crispy please! As for the LA Galbi it came with side of rice, banchans, and individually packaged beef short ribs in reusable container. There was actually a good amount of beef short ribs but $33 worth? I'm not quite sure about that. Some of the pieces I got seemed slightly over with very small burnt specs. I just picked it off. But the Galbi flavor itself was well marinated. Not the softest tho. Japchae, kimchi, and spicy cucumbers were enjoyable. Service was very kind but there was a bit of a wait. I'll come for the chicken katsu next time!

We absolutely love this little neighborhood Korean restaurant- we don't need to drive to Cupertino Sunnyvale area for some authentic real Korean food anymore! the Bibimbap is my absolute favorite- fresh ingredients and so delicious! Chap Jae is amazing too! And the seafood pancake!!! Come for a warm and welcome family ran restaurant ambiance too!

We stopped here after we did a long hike. We were hungry. I ordered the ttelebokki (rice cakes). They were good, but I didn't expect it to me this way. I expected it with the red sauce mixed in with meat and veggies. The dish was still tasty. The seafood pancake was delicious. It's more of doughy batter than really fried and crunchy. It came out hot on the hot plate. Overall, I thought the food was ok...a little more pricy on the end. This place is located in strip mall and next to Jamba Juice. Thank you for the food and service.

There's lunch specials and other items on their menu. I didn't realize I barely made it during their lunch service. I had ran errands and went there to grab some take out. Luckily the gentleman let me order which I'm grateful for. There's a break in between lunch and dinner service. I ordered their beef Japchae for takeout.

Service: 4/5 Hands down to one of the best Korean restaurants I've tried in South SJ. I always ordered by phone. The ordering and picking process were really fast and smooth. Food: 5/5 The rice place is the most bang for the buck. The galbi and spicy pork belly came with rice, japchae, salad, and 2 choices of side dishes. The galbi was so tender and came off the bone easily. The spicy pork was not too spicy and well-seasoned. I love their teokbokki. The rice cake had a perfect chew. The sauce was not too sweet and had a great kick. Their gyoza was crispy outside and so juicy inside. I'm glad it didn't taste like those frozen dumplings from Costco like other restaurants.

I came with a couple of friends around 6PM on a Friday and barely made it before the dinner rush. As soon as we sat down, a large crowd started lining up to put their names on the waitlist. It's a small, casual restaurant with limited seating, but they turn tables over quickly. They've added tablets at each table where you can browse photos of the menu and place your order. They also leave a bottle of water at the table, so service is pretty minimal. The banchan arrived almost immediately after we ordered, followed shortly by our meals. The banchan is always fresh and flavorful, with each dish seasoned differently so every bite has a unique taste. We all ordered the beef tofu soup but customized it to our liking. I went with medium spice and added mandu (dumplings). The portion was huge and came with rice on the side. The medium spice actually had a good kick, unlike at some places where it's too mild. It was packed with tofu and tender beef, and I had enough leftovers for another meal. It was my first time adding mandu, which tasted good but out of place. I'll probably pass on that next time. While not as good as served on the hot stone in store, the bibimbap was still pretty tasty! It had a wide variety of toppings such as sunny side egg, seaweed, carrots, cucumber, and bean sprouts. The sauce was the highlight. It was a little spicy but added a lot of flavors to the rice. Beef bulgogi was tender and sweet. Kimchi pancake came with a generous portion of kimchi and the pancake was super crispy, and it was our favorite out of the three dishes we ordered! Each main dish also came with a few side dishes such as kimchi and tofu. Parking was relatively easy in the plaza. The restaurant indoor looked small and busy during peak hours. Overall I thought it was a great restaurant for Korean food. Would love to come back to try their tofu soups when the weather is cooler.

We ordered the beef soup and the appetizer short ribs, which is about 6 pieces. The sides were good, special shout out to the warm jjapchae! The short ribs came out sizzling, and had a great char with a sweet soy sauce flavor. Meat was tender and had the perfect chew to it, such a comfort meal with the rice. The beef soup came boiling, and there was a generous amount of beef, mushrooms, and tofu. The only complaint I have is the soup ratio was less than what I'm used to so about halfway through the pot there wasn't much soup left to pour onto the rice the way I normally do. But that's not a bad thing, means you're getting more protein! Service was great, but it's a bit expensive from what I'm used to so I docked a star. I'll check out other places and see if this is just the normal pricing for the area.
