I usually am very open minded and accepting of a lot of things,but I have never encountered anything like this that has left such a bitter taste in so many ways. First,walking in the door, no greeting nor hello,but told to have a seat anywhere and somebody will be with us....8 minutes later....nothing....finally 15 minutes later a waitress walked up and asked if we were ready to order.....but we didn't have a menu yet.....amazing..... Secondly,humorously dismissing this as innocent blindness,we ask what she would recommend.It was the answer that should have told us to leave...."The Chinese place next door??"..."I don't really like anything here...it's all good though" Thinking to ourselves at the table,and looking at one another,we all somehow felt this was going to be a meal to remember...or at least something to talk about. Drinks arrived and burgers ordered between the four of us,calmed the jokes and laughter between us as we remembered other places we thought were worse than this so far....then again , this experience was far from over. With four burgers ordered,1 swiss rare,1 cheddar medrare,1 american medium,1 bacon american medrare,...I have to say it was an auction style fun when arriving, that turned out to be more hilarious that Abott and Costello's "Who's on First"...but ended up sounding like "Dumb and Dumber" meets "The Jersey Shore". What arrived...Bacon swiss WELL DONE,Cheddar WELL DONE,Bacon American WELL DONE, Americam WELL DONE.......We decided not to say a word,nor return them after the waitress walked by and commented..."Great...they look perfect!".....I feel somehow I should have asked if she wears glasses....THAT was the best joke of the night,and made everything thus far forgivable. However,the real Cherry on top of this sh## Sundae was the action at the bar. A few patrons,but the employees outnumbered them...including the two owners who were holding court gambling dice game while antagonizing other people at the bar to give them money and roll the dice....illegal yes??? Anyway,the most concerning turn off for this place was listening to the owner "Chris" speak with extreme sexual tones to another woman as well as a female employee.He was also very "hand friendly" to a woman that was down right offensive to us at the table.....only because his wife later walked in and knew nothing. These actions and the vulgarity of behaviour are clearly atrocious and unacceptable on any level By most concerns food is forgivable,service can be taught,but this place should NOT be in business....STAY AWAY!!!!!!! read more

Wow, what a great night. I stopped in to have a drink for happy hour and maybe an appetizer. The place was packed, always a good sign. I had the Bang Bang Shrimp and Ahi Tuna coins which were both amazing. A four piece band cranked up and the whole place was buzzing with a great energy! With one look at the special menu, I knew I was staying for dinner. We proceeded to order the marinated steak tidbits and French onion soup followed by an enormous dinner salad and of course I had a whole lobster! Everything was unbelievable. I paired the lobster with my favorite Pellegrini Chardonnay. It's great to see so many local wines on the menu at great prices; it really shows their commitment to the North Fork wineries and community as a whole. The owner's Chris and Joanne stopped by to say hello during dinner which is always a classy touch. It seemed they knew more than half the people in the restaurant, another great sign that there must be a lot of repeat customers. Between the food, music, wine, and hospitality from the best bartender on the North Fork (Sandra), it made for one of the best night's out I've had in while. A really nice and much needed addition for a small quaint town with a lot of delicious local businesses to choose from. CJ's is extremely relaxed with a delicious selection of specials that are something worth remembering. From their prime Rib, to Lobster Mac & Cheese to their Teriyaki Salmon I will definitely be back. I absolutely love their french onion soup and their bang bang shrimp as well i might add. Despite them not being in a prime location, they definitely make the best of it. We came here on a Thursday night and decided to sit outside where we enjoyed live music and a nice string of lights hung above us which was a very nice touch. The owner Chris is extremely nice and is always very accommodating whenever my husband and I visit for a meal. Only suggestion I would make is to season the fries a little less(the spices can be too much sometimes) and to offer just a few healthier options if possible. Maybe sweet potato fries instead of regular as an option as well as being able to choose a side of veggies in replacement of fries.Other than that, I highly recommend this establishment for friends and family alike. read more

ugh.......................................... Only good point was a friendly barmaid (Allison?) Waitress was scary......mono-goth...looked strung out. Menu......nothing to speak of...but "specials" insert proved otherwise. Decided to keep it simple as mostly everyone around us was eating burgers..... Ordered spa burger special which was different,but actually quite good for chicken. House burger is good, but have had better......maybe the roll was too big.... Eating later in the night after the movies proved to be interesting, as the staff sit and drink at the bar....was funny to sit and listen,but only came to prove that this place needs help...including the staff.... read more

I don't understand what these people see in this place. Went in for dinner and the place was dead. U could hear people in the kitchen yelling at each other and then the owner came out and he looked like a hot mess. The food was decent but not worth the prices. This is my second time trying this place and I still don't understand the good reviews. Definitely looking for a new place to go. A friend of mine tonight recommended a place named east on main and said it was across the street. Next stop is there. If not i might have to try that taco place too. Need good food pronto read more

Great restaurant for our office Christmas dinner! The food was amazing!We had everything off the specials and was very pleased. A wide variety from duck, ribs, scallops...and the carrot cake is my favorite. The atmosphere really makes this place special. Everyone is so friendly and the owners are great. The service is really good. Always checking to see if you need anything. Kid friendly restaurant also. Location is unique...tucked away down an alley, near a movie theater so a perfect spot for dinner and a movie. read more

Food is too expensive for what you are getting. Went there today for my birthday and didnt enjoy it at all. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to mattitaco or east on main. Located in a shopping center so there is always parking. If they're busy you will have to wait a while. Service is meh. Waiters and servers can be moody at times. Food is okay but not worth the bad attitude or the wait. Ambiance is nothing special. Usual restaurant look. read more
