Kids Chicken Fingers & Fries for Kids
    Joanna D.

We come here every year after we cut down our tree at the tree farms and we always have a wonderful experience. The wait staff is so nice and accommodating and the food never disappoints. It's tucked away in a shopping center but don't bypass this hidden gem. This trip, we just did some drinks and appetizers and it was fabulous. We had the nachos with chicken and the bang bang shrimp and my daughter had the kids chicken fingers. The nachos were piled high with so much chicken and toppings! Delicious as always. I had a bourbon Mule and a pumpkin beer and both were awesome. Can't wait to go back!

For the past decade CJs has been our "go to" establishment for many family gatherings, celebrations and date nights. We are grateful for their genuine staff, quality food and family friendly atmosphere. Always a great evening!

Came here on a trip out East today. The restaurant has a very "homey" vibe. Diners were watching the football game and workers were very nice. I ordered simple chicken and fingers and fries (with seasoning) and my husband ordered the CJ burger. Both were very good! My entree came with pickles which NEVER happens - huge plus! The seasoning on my fries reminded me of a delicious wing place by me and it was very good, but there was a little too much seasoning for my liking. My husband enjoyed his burger. CJ's has a very extensive menu and I will make an effort to try a nice steak (they have great variety) the next time I am in the area.

Going above and beyond for the community!! Such a blessing.

My wife and I were meeting a friend who lives in Laurel for dinner. We researched local restaurants…read moreand came across the Watershed Kitchen and Inn on OpenTable. The description of the restaurant, the menus and the reviews online made us to decide to give them a try. We're so glad that we did! We entered through the bar entrance which was lively but not crazy loud. There was a musician setting up in one corner of the bar area. We could hear him during our dinner but it was not at all distracting (and he was quite good). We were greeted by one of the hosts (who I now believe may be one of the owners). We were welcomed and escorted to a table in the dining room right behind the bar area. From what I could determine, there were at least two other dining areas and an outside dining area (for dining during the nicer weather). Our server quickly came to welcome us, ask if we had questions about the menu / specials and to take our drink order. She was attentive, pleasant and was able to quickly and accurately answer questions that we had (we have some dietary restrictions and needed to verify some ingredients. She knew immediately what we could order to dine safely. We started our order with the Chiccharon appetizer. I had anticipated that the item would be traditional crispy Chiccaron. Instead the dish was more of a pork belly in a broth. We actually enjoyed that much more! It was plentiful, cooked to perfection and flavorful. For dinner my wife and our friend ordered the sea bass special. They both thought it was plentiful, perfectly prepared and tasted great. I ordered the pork chop with spicy cherry peppers in a light evoo broth. I told our server that I wasn't eating potatoes or rice and asked for a recommendation for a substitute. She recommended the broccolini which was a perfect alternative. My pork chop was served perfectly (medium, juicy,) and was huge! We passed on dessert but the options looked amazing. We will absolutely be back again SOON. Thank you.

Had the mezcal Paloma and my wife had the bees knees which were both created to absolute perfection. The Littles looked over the menu and were kinda ‍ but our waiter must speak kiddo and said that they have chicken fingers and other kid meals that they would be happy to make. Score!! We got the fried calamari for the table to start. Crispy, fresh and beautifully tender. Kids devoured them and almost took one of our fingers off for the last one. My wife had the summer risotto and made a request for grilled chicken on top which they were happy to do. I had the Greek farro salad with grilled chicken, again, after a day of wine tasting it was the protein I needed and lightness I was looking for. Chicken as a topper on both dishes was abundant . Our servers were attentive without being intrusive or trying to rush us out. Host was friendly and accommodating, even checked up on us as she escorted other diners to their table. QPR was right on point. All dishes were fresh, seasoned to perfection, creative utilizing what's local and what's in season and generously portioned. This place stays on my radar and will be frequented again and again when we're in town next. I wish more spots in CT were this creative with locally grown ingredients and still maintained an ambience of a friendly neighborhood bistro. Very welcoming place.

The pancakes were good, I believe there were three and they are large. I especially like they serve real maple syrup. The steak and eggs were ok. The steak was marinated in some sort of teriyaki sauce I believe. Our party did not enjoy the steak. But we loved the home fries and the side of bacon was cooked perfectly. A Loyal Customer's Disappointment…read more I've been going to Legends for over 20 years, so writing this review is honestly disappointing for me. I have always loved this place and considered it one of my go-to restaurants. That's why the changes I've experienced recently are so noticeable. I ordered my usual Coke, but unfortunately it was flat. I also ordered the hamburger I've enjoyed for years, and this time it simply didn't taste like the burger I've always loved. The portion of French fries was also noticeably smaller. Normally, I wouldn't care about the amount of fries if the burger was still as delicious as it used to be, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Since the new ownership, it feels like a lot has changed. The service was very slow, seemingly because there aren't enough servers. The changes behind the bar have also affected the drinks, which just aren't as good as they used to be. I understand that businesses change and new owners may want to bring their own ideas to a restaurant. But when you've been a loyal customer for 20 years, you notice when the quality, service, food, and overall experience change. I truly hope Legends can get back to the quality and service that made longtime customers like me keep coming back year after year. I would love nothing more than to be able to enjoy my favorite burger and say, "This is the Legends I remember."

With a band setting up behind us we settled in for a relaxing evening. Read a few reviews about the Windamere ( located above the marina) which made us pause but hunger outvoted hesitancy so we threw caution to the wind. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised. Even though we did not have a reservation we were warmly greeted and immediately seated on the outside patio area overlooking both the marina and band. Our server Victoria was outstanding, the epitome of excellent customer service skills; professional, friendly, engaging, menu knowledgeable and attentive. The food was very good starting with the baked clams and mussels. The baked salmon and seared tuna dishes were well seasoned, moist and flaky, the salmon served over rice and asparagus. Found the food good, slightly under portioned compared to other establishments but reasonably priced. During dinner we enjoyed listening to the band ( Radio Flashback) which we had seen previously. Overall a pleasant evening at Windamere enjoying some good food and drinks while listening to some great music. Although there is inside seating I'd recommend the outside patio area. Just a word ( or two) of caution the bar area overlooks the marina pool which can be a little noisy so if your eating would not recommend that patio area and just remember the lyrics to the song 867-530/Jenny you'll understand later .

While visiting North Fork wine country, we were told by one of the winery managers about Windamere…read moreas a nice place for lunch, particularly because of their Tuesday lobster roll special. The location is very nice, situated on a small marina - not the type of marina we are accustomed to on the South Shore, but certainly pleasant. Since it was a beautiful day, we chose to sit outside. We started with the fried calamari and baked clams, followed by the lobster rolls - one hot and one cold - so we could each try half of both. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. The baked clams were overcooked and very dense with bread and cheese, making it difficult to really taste the clams. The fried calamari were what I would describe as "extra crispy"--in reality, they were over-fried. The lobster rolls were just okay. They weren't bad, but they weren't particularly impressive either. At $20 each for the Tuesday special, they were probably worth the price, but not something we'd go out of our way to have again. The service, however, was the biggest disappointment. We waited a long time for our waitress to come over just to take our drink order, and then waited even longer for the drinks to arrive. At one point, we even had to ask the busboy where our waitress was. After we finished our appetizers, the dishes remained on the table throughout our lobster rolls. We had to ask several times for water and eventually had to request that the dishes be cleared. Where was our waitress? Absent for most of the meal. We ultimately had to ask for the check when she finally came over to clear the table. What made the experience even more noticeable was that the table next to us, with four women and a different server, appeared to receive excellent service. Their drinks and food were ordered and delivered efficiently throughout their meal. The setting is nice, and perhaps our experience was simply an off day. Unfortunately, between the disappointing appetizers, average lobster rolls, and especially the inattentive service, we will most likely choose another restaurant the next time we're visiting Long Island's wine country

Just walking in, we were warmly greeted, then quickly seated. This place is "picnic style", so you're given menus at your table, but order at the counter (I personally like that vibe). Anyway, we ordered their 1/4 pound, five-meat sampler (pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, a competition-style rib and a whole smoked sausage) and they converted me. Everything was nothing short of awesome. Both the pork and chicken were juicy and tender, the brisket this time around was smoked to succulent perfection and the rib was nothing short of excellent (not 'fall off the bone", but with that perfect competition "pull" that really won me over). The sausage I learned was locally sourced and a great compliment to the platter. Enough for two with small appetites to share. The sauce is still in small cups, but as I was told, there had been so much waste left on empty plates, that they had no choice to serve it that way, and I get that. Restaurants run on very thin margins these days. I had the spicy version again and really enjoyed it. Add in some live music played by a couple of good ole boys and since my first visit 9 months ago, this place has turned into a legit Long Island BBQ joint and will now be part of my usual rotation. I still think the hush puppies could have used a few seconds less in the fryer, but the flavor profile was spot on as was the corn fritters. But we left happy and full...I'm glad I was able to get back and try it again. Plenty of parking, all cards and a very laid back experience. Great for families or a stop by while cruising the north fork of Long Island. It's a gotta-go in my opinion. Nicely done!
